We chose a booth and my wife had several questions regard our choices. The questions were answered promptly, accurately, and appropriate questions were asked by the server - who, then, made suggestions. I ordered a shrimp dish and a few minutes later was told there were no shrimp. Would I like to substitute chicken? I affirmed chicken and was quite pleased with my very mild Tandoor Chicken Tikka. my wife chose mild Butter Chicken and an order of Cheese Garlic Naan. We each had a bottle of water to drink. This is an Indian food pub. I wish their sign indicated that they served Indian food. All their clients were Indian, and yet having driven past this place so many times we had no idea, till I looked it up. So, I wonder, are they missing out on potential customers?? We went at 10:30 pm and thought we were really late, but this place started filling up after we got there. Being a night owl, was happy to find this spot near us. The chicken malai kabab from the tandoor was really good and we asked for less hot and the spice level was just right for my husband. Naans were good too. This probably has to be the best Indian fusion restaurant in the Metro Atlanta area. Such a wide variety of options (decent Vegetarian choices) and very exciting combinations. Pricey but delicious. THE FOOD: We got a plate of Paneer Tikka burger and Paneer Tikka Alfredo Pasta. We went with medium spice option for the pasta and it was good. The sauce was excellent and this fusion was really good. Although I felt the Paneer could have been cooked better or soft, felt so bland and rubbery at times. Could have been marinated or the paneer itself could have been a tad better. The Burger comes with fries on the sides. The Paneer was not deep fried and felt like the kebab paneer. The sauce or the flavors were excellent in this burger. But the biggest downside being the burger just falls apart as you start to eat. Could have been stacked better. Comes with a lot of onions but I would pick this over Pasta. It's very pricey and we get a good amount of portion, but still I feel something's missing for this price. They do have a dessert section but most of the items are not available (Shahi Tukda is what we asked for). Decent beverage (non alcoholic) section as well. AMBIENCE & SERVICE: A very dimly lit restaurant with a typical bar-restaurant mood and setting. It has got some loud music (bar vibes again) with so many TV screens to keep you occupied. Wait time is less though. Interestingly an automated robot gets your food served at your table. The service was good and prompt. The restroom was clean as well. Literally no crowd at all at 8PM on a Friday night. Highly surprising for an Indian restaurant but yes they are open until late night. BOTTOMLINE: A very interesting restaurant to try probably if you are into fusions especially Indian flavors in American, Italian or Mexican food. Worth a try for sure. ATL Pakka Local is a unique spot to grab food and drinks at. It's an Indian sports bar that's truly one of a kind in the area. They offer fusion Indian food from four main categories - Indian Italian Mexican Indian Chinese Indian American Indian They also offer your standard north Indian curries, etc. that is offered at most restaurants. My friend ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala w/Garlic Naan which he enjoyed. He said it was sweet and the portion sizes were generous. My girlfriend ordered the Paneer Tikka Masala Penne Alfredo which she and I both love. It comes with mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, paneer, in a mild, tangy tomato sauce mixed with alfredo. A good option for kids as well. I ordered the spicy version of the Chinese hakka noodles. They were pretty spicy as they add cut up chiles. It was flavourful and savory. Seems like an American restaurant from the outside but don't let that fool you the taste is authentic Indian. Great to watch a cricket match with a group of friends or to just hang out with groups. The restaurant is sports themed and has a good mix on every time. They have human and robo servers which is interesting and quite efficient. I highly recommend their indo chinese dishes. Their menu caters to vegans, vegetarian and non vegetarian. There is ample of parking and an EV charger in the adjacent plaza. There were 6 of us at one table -1 of 3 tables occupied in the restaurant. The waiter took our order as an entire table not asking if there was to be a split. The food arrived sporadically over the next 30-40 minutes. Some of the party was done eating before others got any food. When time to pay the waiter could not/would not split by paying party. He finally agreed to let us calculate each couple to total their food, calculate and add the tax, add the automatic 18% gratuity-give him the charge total and then he added the credit card fee to each persons charge. After landing in ATL and driving home we decided to stop here for some food. One of the only few places open on Christmas Eve. We ordered chicken 65, chicken wings w/ tikka masala sauce, jalapeño poppers and fries. Of course I had to try some Sweetwater IPA and the Pontoon beer. The chicken 65 was the best dish we ordered here. Full of flavor with some good chunks of chicken. The chicken wings with their tikka sauce could have used some more heat. Discovered this place on a late Sunday night. Points for being open past midnight in the burbs!! Plus, they have a sports bar but with an Indian vibe! Cricket playing on one end and football on the other! Highly recommend any egg based dish and any biryani. We ordered the masala omelette and it reminded me of my mom's omelette...i was in love at first bite...just the right amount of chillies and cilantro! The chicken dum biryani was delicious - tender chicken in fragrant rice and the mirchi sauce on the side added the right amount of spice. The Andhra chicken curry was good too. Just left this place. Our food was late coming out and everyone in the party got their food at a different time to the point that four people were done before two of us got our food. People who came after us got their food first. In addition, not being able to split the check is a huge issue that should have been clarified. The credit card fee was not disclosed. We ordered dirty mango lassi, mango margarita, chicken mandi(spicy), egg biryani(medium spice) and paneer tikka kebab. The mango margarita was really good, egg biryani was flavourful but I would try the spicy version next time as medium spicy was kind of bland for me. The paneer kabab was ok, the rice in chicken mandi was not cooked well, it was very dry. This was our second time to this place and mandi was better the first time. We hope they keep up the quality. Food is good and if not ordered spicy, then it comes out very blend. They don't have medium spicy level, its either high or mild. Unlike Buffalo wild wings where BOGO really means you get double for the same price, they charge $2 more than the actual briyani price listed for 19.99 as 21.99 just on the day of BOGO. The BOGO is not available on Chicken 65 briyani and just available on limited biryani's. So kind of misleading menu Have tried mutton chops and they were great. They made it spicy. Overall a good place to visit with friends and family, but the prices don't justify the quantity and quality. Worse experience I ever had in the United States. I visited ATL PAKKA LOCAL restaurant based on their promotion posts in Georgia Halal Food. I always had a huge craving for Mandi. I saw their post gave them a call and asked them how authentic they were in terms of taste. We ordered the $70 plate Assorted Mandi and I invited one of my North Indian Colleagues for dinner. The taste was so bad, they got the chicken tikka instead of marinated Mandi chicken and the goat was too bad and seems like have been keeping it marinated for weeks. When I complained to them about their food, the guy who was serving us said "ANNA THERE IS AN ANOTHER RESTAURANT CALLED AS FIREFLY AND THEY SERVE AWESOME MANDI", I WILL REMOVE THE GOAT PRICE FROM THE CHECK, AS YOU PEOPLE DID NOT EAT AND HE TOOK THE GOAT BACK", and then he comes back again and said, "I CAN'T REMOVE FROM THE CHECK BECAUSE MANAGER SAID THAT IS ALL WE GOT AND THEY SHOULD PAY FOR IT". I price and check wasn't a problem for us, lol. We were asking them for a taste and what they promised. The manager came to me and said will you come here next time? I said NO and he was like I know our Mandi is not good and when you come next time, I will suggest you the best menu items that you should try. WHAT ABOUT NOW? Unprofessional staff and they don't have the ability to serve what they have promised. The menu is overrated. Tried out this place today for the first time. Food was very good but inconsistent in spice level when we ordered everything to be mild. The service was ok 3 dishes came out separately with a wait in between. Luckily we were sharing family style so it was ok but for larger groups it can be awkward. Had to keep asking for more water refills. The ambience is sports bar like with loud music English music and tvs with football playing. The robot serving food was was nice but unnecessary. I live in California, but we had gathered in GA and were looking for a good Indian food catering place. I could not been more happy to have these guys do the catering for us. The catering at ATL Pakka Local was amazing. We had a party with around 100 guests, and there was plenty of food for everyone, because the caterers even brought extra anticipating possible demand (something that could not be said of other caterers in this area). We ordered a range of items from dosas (sweet and savory options including chocolate dosa for kids) to biriyani to Chinese bhel and sambhar-idli. The idli was very soft and this item actually ran out due to demand. The Chinese bhel was also a HIT item with our guests and was a very unique item in terms of options for catered items and flavor profile. The dosas, biriyani, and sambhar-idli were also very tasty and well-liked by our guests. The staff prepared the Chinese bhel and the dosas fresh at the party efficiently and hygienically. This catering service has breadth in options and did a great job with all items. All age groups enjoyed thoroughly. Overall, we were extremely pleased with the high level of service in hygiene, preparedness, and taste. Would highly recommend ATL Pakka Local! I will be catering again and again. read more
