This is a first class cycling operation. Unfortunately when I wanted to get a new training bike, I went to another store in Stone Mountain and I was extremely disappointed with my purchase. When I went to this store to get some additional guidance, I found the staff that was extremely knowledgeable in helping me what I needed, inevitably I bought a second bike from the store as well as some additional accessories that have made my training regimen extremely successful. While not being able to get rid of the first bike with the original vendor, I elected to keep it and they went and they put new tires on it for the road instead of the knobbies that came with it. I highly recommend this store because I also bought my bicycle traveling equipment and other accessories there as well and I've never been disappointed. read more

Tire on my bike was flat and my pump was broken. I called and ordered the part for the pump. I asked if they could inflate my tire. They inflated until the inner tube burst. Charge me $30 dollars. They purposely over inflated and charge me for a new inner tube. You guys should be ashamed. read more

I've always had excellent service and I been a customer for years. Today was no exception! My chain broke on my ride today and I decided to let the professionals replace it. I walked in with the expectation of having to leave it. To my surprise they told me they can squeeze it in. I told them I was ok to leave it since they were busy and they said just just give them some time and they would get it done. To be honest they have always exceeded my expectations. From the no pressure of buying my first bike to the helping me with the many other bike purchases I've made there. Never once did I feel pressured to buy something that was more than I needed. They alway gave me options and information and let me make the choice myself. I've had all my bikes serviced there even ones I've bought used and they have always treated me like family. read more

We came here twice to check out a bike. First time we came in, Angelica greeted us friendly. She showed us different bikes and listened carefully to what we wanted. Then she helped us to measure our size and recommended a few bikes that met our needs. Because that day was raining, we could not test the bike. She suggested us to come back later to test the bike and sent us a quote with the bikes we looked at. The second time we came in, Angelica assisted us to test different bikes and during the biking, she would help us to adjust the bikes to make sure we were comfortable. She also provided many helpful suggestions along the way! We asked a lot of questions and she was so nice and helpful to answer them all! Such great customer service! At the end, we got a hybrid bike for me and some accessories. We very much enjoyed the whole process! Anyway, Atlanta cycling sells different kinds of bike(mnt bikes, hybrid bikes, road bikes). The main brand they sell is trex and I think it is a good brand. They also fix bikes and sell different accessories for bikes. Great place to check it out if you need a bike! read more

This is a great bike shop... I brought but bike in for some upgrades, the staff was super courteous and knowledgeable. I was a little nervous because I did not get much from other bike shops. I called the service department just after the holiday and was instantly comfortable with making the decision to bring my bike in. Check in all the way to check out, I felt like I was in the amazing hand of Atlanta Cycling. During check in, my bike was thoroughly inspected for safety then during check out, I debriefed and got a full description of what was needed in a way I fully understood. This staff is just incredible. I talked to the service department as well as sales. I was super impressed with both departments. I will definitely be back whether it's for more work on my bikes or even to buy a new bike. Great job to everyone. read more

I am very happy to have found this Cycle shop. THE SCENE My son and I decided we wanted to attempt to ride the entire Silver Comet Trail without any training. I did lots of research and read many blogs and reviews, but could not find any comparative information from anyone who fit our age and lack of training profile. A father in his 40's and his 11 year old son, who don't even own bikes and haven't rode one since their last vacation in Hilton Head (2 years prior). To say the least I was concerned. Our longest ride to date had been about 22 miles and I can still remember the painfully good nights sleep we had that evening. I also remembered cramping up pretty badly and was hoping for a little expert advice for this impromptu decision we made to do this trail just a week prior. Cycleworks to the rescue. Their location was more convenient for my needs. I wanted to hit the trail early and the rental shops near the Silver Comet would not be open. It also made returning it easier since we finished well after closing. THE EXPERIENCE I must be honest and say Jim (the shop manager) was not exactly the picture perfect representative of first impressions. He didn't have a warm and welcoming personality, and for a moment I felt maybe we made a mistake coming here. I was enthusiastic and pumped up while he was more like Lurch from the Adams Family [You raaaang]. I think he assumed we were just some folks who came in to waste his time with lots of questions, but he eventually began to warm up to us when he saw we were absolutely serious about planning this ride. So if he comes off that way to you too, just hold on, he gets friendlier. He gave me critical information about what bike to use and energy gels that would help eliminate the burning and cramping that comes along with a long ride. HE WAS SO RIGHT! I could not have completed this ride without them. I saved a little money by borrowing a friends bike, but rented two road bikes for my son and his friend. Very lightweight and performed very well for our needs. At a cost of $40/day, we felt it was truly worth it when coupled with the knowledge we received from the staff here @ Cycleworks. Chris (a bike tech) also checked over my friends bike and made sure it was worthy of the mileage we were about to endure. THE BIKES The Trek FX Hybrid was a very lightweight bike that is built for speed (27 speeds to be exact). It came stocked with Bontrager Satellite Plus IsoZone grips that were very comfortable. The stock seat however was not very comfortable, but our iP Pearl Izumi padded Cycling Shorts helped! It also came with Bontrager race all weather tires and Jim included water canister holders on our rentals. Thanks! THE VERDICT Great experience! I would trust them with any future cycle needs and plan to join them on a cross state ride the first chance we get. Consistently helpful. I've purchased a couple bicycles from this location in the past, and tons of parts, tools, maintenance items, and such. Every time I arrive, I am greeted immediately, and even if the person I am greeted by doesn't have the answer, they usually point me to the person that does. I currently don't own a Trek, but that is a moot point for me because they carry high-end components and gear which is why I continue to spend my dollars here. Along with the smiling faces that I mentioned earlier, they have a little bit of everything from entry-level stuff, all the way up to professional accoutrements. I am somewhere in-between with my riding, but I AM really hard on my gear and equipment, and with these guys helping me, I continue to modify and maintain my stuff. It also must be mentioned that I pass a few other bicycle shops on my way to visiting this place. I won't mention names, but I've attempted to spend my money at those places, and I just don't have a good feeling OR they don't have what I'm looking for, attempting to force me into whatever they have in stock at the time. I'm all for supporting your LBS, but you should feel good about them as well. Anyone can order something from Amazon, but will you get an honest answer with that order? Are you supporting your local community? Support local. Bottom line is that I will continue to visit this place (even with the name-change), and who knows? In July of 2019 (approx. 10 months ago), I had Atlanta Cycle (Duluth) do $500 of 'tune-up' work on my Cannondale T800. Most of the work was good, however starting in Mar I have had issues. Now with the corona virus, which I know has thrown everyone into a tailspin, I called today to ask if they could look at my brakes which are not work properly. Matt advised me that since I didn't purchase my bike there, he couldn't help me and to call back in 3 to 4 weeks and maybe that would change! Really, after $500 spent, another $200 on new shoes, that is the response I get!?!? Will not shop there again... read more

Wow, can't believe some of the reviews here! I've been using Cycleworks since 2011 when I rented a bike and then purchased one later. Every time I enter this store, I feel welcome and if they are busy with another customer, they'll tell me they'll be with me shortly. Barry is probably the friendliest bike tech I've ever met! When my rear cable snapped and they replaced it, my bike was still not shifting properly. Cycleworks then replaced the chain/cassette with the same shifting results. Did they return my bike to me? NO. They continued to work with me and with TREK and replaced the STI shifter until all was well and with no expense to me! Why? Because when I bought my bike, Mark G convinced me to also purchase the Red Shield Plan. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! I really, really appreciate Mark, Barry, and Jim's efforts, diligence, and integrity to properly repair my bike to their and my satisfaction! It takes me at least 30 minutes to drive here but it's definitely worth it. Give 'em a chance, you won't regret it! read more

Bummer. Unfortunately cycling - especially road biking - can be fraught with egos at the competitive level. Cycleworks definitely fits that bill. There are several good cycle shops in the N ATL area, but Cycleworks was the only shop I know of in the Duluth area since Atlanta Cyclery went out of business so maybe that is why they have such a chip on their shoulder. Their sales staff and maintenance staff always seem to have an "indifferent to your needs" arrogant attitude. Their bike selection is pretty good including competition bikes and family bikes, but you are much better off making the drive to Suwanee Bikes, Mama's Board and Bike or better yet - Reality Bikes for that Zen bicycle experience. read more

Bought a bike from here, the employees are incredibly rude and condescending. Having never bought a bike that didn't come from Walmart I had a few basic maintenance questions. Apparently that is not allowed, as the employee was incredibly smug and acted as though it was a waste of his time, even though I had just bought a bike that I considered quite expensive. There were no other customers in the store at the time. I asked if there was a manager, he replied that he was the manager. Brought my bike back a couple months later for a "free lifetime tune up". I was treated with the same attitude, but even worse this time as I wasn't giving them my money. I had planed on purchasing quite a few accessories / maintenance items. Instead I walked out the door and purchased them somewhere with less of a superiority complex. I have found another shop and will never set foot in this store again. Great little shop. Mainly carry Trek Pros: Great customer service, you can test ride bikes, they give you a print out the bike you tried if you want to go do more research. Cons: There was really only 1 bike option for me and it wasn't a perfect fit with me. Maybe if they had more options I could have bought from them. I'm a hobby cyclist with a few bikes. Today, I brought in my bike again for service and they managed to repair it while I waited. At the same time, I spoke with the owner about pointers for adjusting the mountain bike shoes I bought there. They take care of me. I bought my mountain bike from Cycleworks a few years ago after shopping around and still love the bike. They've helped fix it when ... I run it into things. They also have helped me maintain my vintage road bike. They aren't perfect, but that's when I really got to appreciate them. On one occasion, they mistakenly ordered a wrong part for a repair and the mistake cost time...about 2 weeks extra. I had made riding plans with my young cousin based on their estimate, but when it wasn't ready, they loaned me a nearly identical bike so I could keep my promise to go riding with him. Some of the staff there have their personality quirks, but a patient customer will get the huge benefit of their collective experience and will get good help. I like going there, and I certainly recommend them to others. read more

Great shop! I'm a middle-aged woman looking to get back in shape, and I was shopping for a hybrid bike. Angelica took the time and effort to make sure I had a bike that fit me, and was able to answer all of my questions about the bikes and the accessories I was considering. Professional, knowledgeable, and friendly -- I never felt pressured or rushed. She helped me get a great bike. A week after I bought the bike (which was a great fit), I came back to have another accessory installed. They had my bike model in stock, one size bigger. Nobody in their right mind would recommend that I ride that, but my last bike was a gift that was too big, and I rode it for years -- so a bike that actually fits feels strange to me. (Not bad -- just odd.) So I asked, just out of curiosity, to try the bigger bike. Angelica was again helpful and friendly, and in no time she had adjusted the bike so I could test it. Turns out I loved it, despite the size. I asked if I could exchange the bike I bought last week for this one, and the manager, after (very nicely) mentioning why he thought the bike would be big for me, said it was more important that I be happy with what I had and agreed to exchange the bikes. The service department swapped the accessories, added a couple more, and I had my too-big-but-perfect-for-me bike out on the Suwanee Greenway that afternoon. They're right, it's not a bike anyone would expect someone my size to ride, and the smaller one appeared to be perfect. I really appreciated that they cared about me getting something that was designed for my build, but then respected my experience and weird preference. Perfect customer service! read more

They listen to me and keep my bikes tuned and running right, and when I am in the market for a new bike, they have helped me get the best bike for my needs and my budget. I don't get this shop at all. I live within a mile so I have shopped there a few times. I always feel as if I am bothering them by being in there, even when buying things. I did buy a Trek road bike only beacause of price. It was a left over model. Even when making a fairly large purchase I got the same attitude. Almost resentful of me for buying the bike at a discount. The sister store in Roswell is completely opposite. Great staff, more than willing to help, etc... If not for the Roswell store my guess is this store would be out of business. Drive the extra 15 - 20 minutes to the Roswell/North Fulton store. read more

My husband and I have been saving up for some really nice bikes for a while now. Our friend recommended that we go to a specialty store because they would have some good information for us. We pass this particular one almost every day- so we decided to finally take the day off together and purchase our bikes. We walked in and the two gentlemen in the front were assisting clients- but not one person said hello to us. We walked around for a good 10 minutes waiting for someone to at least acknowledge the fact that we were there- but nothing. We would have gladly waited patiently had someone even acknowledged us! Is it that hard to say "hi how are you? Someone will be with you in a minute." Horrible experience. We actually walked out and not a word was spoken to us yet again. I mean hey, at least they are consistent. I gave them 1 star because the store was clean and we found a couple of bikes that we were interested in. But they won't be getting our money. read more
