Kicking myself for not stopping in here sooner!! This little hidden gem is located in the newly renovated/developed downtown Crabapple right near one of my fave Pilates studios, The Daily. Don't be fooled by the bicycles! Yes, it is a bicycle shop but also an adorable little cafe. Inside, it's basically split in half with the right side dedicated to all things bicycles, and the left side dedicated to the cafe/coffee shop. Helen Marie was beyond lovely and friendly, and delightfully chatted with me the entire time I stood there patiently waiting while she perfectly crafted up one of their delicious (and seasonal) Strawberry Matcha Bliss drinks. I was blown away at first sip, then add on the A+ hospitality and convenient location just outside of one of my fave Pilates studios, and that all adds up to this spot quickly becoming a local staple for me! read more

This is the best spot for coffee and gathering. The staff are so friendly and helpful. They are so passionate about meeting the community's needs- whether that is bikes, drinks, and/ or fellowship. You can tell this establishment was built on a foundation from people who know what they're doing and who are passionate about making sure the product is of the highest quality. I have not had a bad experience yet- from morning coffee, afternoon remote work on my laptop, to having an evening beer before dinner. Whitetail Bikes is easily the best spot in downtown Crabapple. While I haven't bought a bike here, I know my way around bikes, and it's clear they run a solid shop. What keeps me coming back, though, is the coffee and the sense of community they've created. What a great concept! I don't own a bike, but I do love me some good coffee. So, this review is solely about their coffee and service. I've passed by this shop a few times, so when I was in the area for an errand, I decided to finally stop and check it out. There's a few parking spots available in the gravel lot next to the cafe. I was greeted upon entering by a gentleman behind the counter all the way in the back of the building. I walked over there, looked over the drink menu and the gentleman let me know that they also carry oat milk as a milk substitute. Yes, my fave! I ordered an iced oat milk latte and was in and out in around five minutes. They serve Stumptown coffee which is a good, solid coffee. Loved it! read more

My review is for the coffee only as I know nothing about bikes. The coffee is very smooth and perfectly textured without tasting at all burnt or bitter. They balance their flavors well and the coffee is never overly sweet or artificially flavored. Give the caramel oat milk latte a try. read more

We came here to get a bike tire repaired. This local shop is convenient and will take care of you. They also have a small cafe area that is good for those on a ride and need a place to rest and hang out. There is also a small couch area that is inviting. They keep a pump out back to fill up your tires. We met the owner when we pulled up as he directed us to park at an angle in their small parking lot. We were a "walk-up" client and they were able to work on the tire and get us in and out within 15 minutes. Everyone was super nice. The selection of biking gear onsite is curated, and on the smaller side, but all quality stuff. read more

I'm sure most people know this is a bike shop/coffee place, but I was surprised to learn they also serve beer, but I wouldn't recommend drinking and riding on Crabapple, which can be extremely hazardous with its disappearing bike lanes and shoulders and heavy traffic. If you're into Cannondales like I am, this is the place to go. Sean (Shawn?) the owner is even into restoring vintage Cannondales, which is extremely cool IMO. They have a great selection of bikes and parts, a friendly, knowledgeable staff, and did I mention, they have beer? This is my new favorite local bike shop. read more

What an awesome shop! I grew up around the area and remember when they first opened but I never stepped foot inside until recently. I own a junk removal business and recently came across some old bicycles. I decided to take them in to see if I could get them fixed up and I was amazed by the customer service that I was provided. Not knowing much about bicycles, Shaune was extremely informative and told me everything I needed to know about the old bicycles and how much it would cost to have them fixed up. We took a bike in for a small repair. We were excited to support a local small business. We were quoted $30 for the repair. When we picked up the bike we were charged $122. 4 TIMES the quoted price !!! No call was made to us to inform the price increase. The bike was only a $200 bike brand new. Additionally, the bike had noticeable cosmetic scratches and dings that were not there before...it had been ridden only a few times prior to taking to Whitetail. Total price gauge. I was in the market for a new bicycle, I decided to shop local in my home town at this little bike shop I drove past everyday. I walked in with money in hand with the intention to walk out with a bike. I walked in to see all staff jaw jacking and it wasn't for 10 minutes before I was asked if I needed help. I showed him interest in many bike but he never seemed interested in selling me a bike he seemed more interested in getting back to the conversation. He did not act professional in any way. Unfortunately his attitude made me take my money else where and I went directly to Atlanta Cycling and purchased a great bike not more than an hour since I was here. If your looking for a bike do not go here, you will be disappointed I was not helped by the owner it was a gentleman with no hair and I assure you this is not a bogus review I have a very nice marlin five I've been impressed with plus Atlanta cycling gave me free annual servicing for life. He has long grey hair and is very pompous. Has zero customer service skills and makes inappropriate comments. I was warned to not take my bicycle here, and now I know why. My family and I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Whitetail bikes! It was nice to grab a cup of coffee and work with Shaune on the best bike options for my 8-year old daughter and gravel bike for myself. She ended up with an amazing Cannondale with suspension and gear shifting that she absolutely loves to ride. I also love my gravel bike and riding some of the local Milton trails with her. My wife had been looking for a touring bike as she had no desire to continue riding her 10 speed. We went to Whitetail thinking they rented bikes. After realizing they sold bikes, we saw a touring bike (Tuesdays) that Whitetail just began selling. Met with owner, Shaun. He was great. Very attentive, candid about what the strengths and weaknesses of this bike and other brands we were looking at other bike shops. For this price point, this bike was what my wife was looking for. A 7 speed, lightweight frame, great ride, had comfortable seating, and a raised handle bar. She has enjoyed the bike everyday. Shaun provided great customer service. Whitetail is definitely the worst bike shop in the Alpharetta area. Last time I was there to get my bike serviced, I had a terrible experience. I was told the bike was ready and when I got there, the mechanic was sitting on his phone and said he had not even started the work. I waited for the part to be installed and got the bike back. While riding the "repaired" bike I could see the new part was not installed correctly and another part was now missing off the bike. I went back to Whitetail a couple days later and the mechanic was not very helpful and still did a poor job. Most of the times I have been to Whitetail, there are zero mechanics available. The prices at Whitetail are significantly higher than any other store in the area. If you ask about buying a new bike, the employees say they will call you when someone is in the store who can answer your questions, only to never hear back from them. There is literally no reason to return to Whitetail again. Bad service, rude employees, and expensive prices. Go to any other store in the area like Cannon, Reality, Atlanta Cycling, etc. to get proper service! Every other store is way better than Whitetail. read more

Never return calls, nothing done when they say it will be done. The only way to get answers is to actually stop in and most of the time the owner isn't even there. First of all beware of all the glowing reviews. They are very suspect. If you like frustration and incompetence, this is the place for you!! My wife and I haven't ridden our bikes in a while so we wanted them to be checked out, serviced, and safety checked. We bring the bikes in and we are ignored. Great start. Finally someone approaches us and we explain what we need. He explains that they will do a tune up and looked like some parts needed to be replaced. Mind you, this was before he inspected the parts. When we ask for a claim ticket he writes up the "ticket" a hand written strip of paper without any claim number or anything else signifying company name, etc. I tell him that I'm expecting something more official. I'm not used to doing a business transaction with a scrap piece of paper. Against our better judgement we leave the bikes. Several hours later we get a VM from Shaun (turns out to be the owner). He's asking us why we left our bikes! Amazing. We decide to visit in person instead of returning the call. I ask a worker to speak to Shaun who is helping someone else at the time. The worker tells Shaun I want to speak to the owner. Shaun whispers "tell them I'm not here" and laughs. I kid you not. (Yes, I heard you). Shaun finally addresses us and I explain we received the VM and don't understand why he didn't know why our bikes are there. He says he called to "double check". I tell him that's not what your VM said. I'll let you judge his veracity. I tell him we are taking the bikes back. He brings them out and didn't care why we were leaving. I ask him if he's interested in knowing why we're leaving. "Sure". I explain the experience during the drop off and he really couldn't care less. No apology, nothing. This business doesn't care if they lose your business or not. Don't go even if you only expect mediocre customer service. read more
