I purchased a high end bicycle from a shop in Marietta in 2022. After literally 14 trips back and forth to various bike shops I brought it to the Bicycle Doctor. Joel and the techs quickly figured out the all of the issues had to do with an incorrect chain length. I finally got to go on a fantastic 20 mile ride this weekend with no issues. My daughter's stroller needed a new tire tube because it went flat. I called them up on Friday evening and asked them if they carried the certain tube size I needed. He checked for me and told me they had it. I went the next day and they told me advice on how to do it. Told me the tips so that way I don't mess it up when trying to replace it. I was in the market for a mountain bike, and tried larger chain stores, with not much luck. I found the Bicycle Doctor's website, featuring a few really good deals, so I thought i'd head on in. When I drove to the place and found the small shop, I smiled at the store you could drive right past if you weren't paying attention. When I got inside, unfortunately the bike I wanted wasn't their, but another equally great bike was, and for roughly the same price. Scott helped me out, really took the time to answer all the questions of a guy who hadn't ridden a bike since trying to get home from elementary school, and not only let me test drive the bike, but kept making minor adjustments so that my seat was properly raised, etc as he watched me ride. I appreciate that greatly, loved not being rushed, and the experience that the Bicycle doctors have seems second to none. Bikes are really all the Bicycle Doctor's do, which is great. Each wall is covered with accessories from bike pumps, helmets, tool kits to car racks, if it involves a bike, they probably have it, or can get it. Good people. Solid shop. read more

This place may be a little out of the way but is one of the best bike shops around Atlanta. Scott (the shop owner) does a good job of bike repair at reasonable prices and treats the customer like a friend. Although they cater to serious cycling enthusiasts and there were many high end bikes costing thousands of dollars in there, I did not get any snobby attitude (unlike the other shops). Five stars for Scott and The Bicycle Doctor! I've had my Cannondale Mountain Bike in there for many small repairs and tune-ups, and the prices and quality of work are superior. However, it wasn't until I took a beat up old entry level Diamond Back mountain bike frame and a bunch of mediocre parts to Scott, and asked him to build a single speed out of my junk pile, that I realized what a talent he is. He had the frame cleaned up and powder coated, then built the single speed exactly like I wanted. There were some new parts needed, but the bill was suprisingly low even with the out-sourced paint job. I am thrilled with the out come. Scott knows his stuff! read more

If you see it as "a local bike shop", well, deserve the 5 star. They call their business "The Bicycle doctor", Usually doctors are those people know about anatomy and physiology of human body. To me being a doctor for bicycles, sounds like being Pro in mechanical term of the Bicycles...!... The shop is small, staffs are friendly, is not hard to find the store (which I honestly don't like the location) As local bike shop, I expected to sell normal (childish) items/bikes/components to sell! But they have bunch of road bikes and saw 2 or 3 "triathlon bike" (felt/ litespeed) which was rare to be in a local bike shop. Well, story began weeks ago, my friend's daughter wanted to race in a group, she had a city mountain bike, and the race required to have pro road racing bike... I gave my "Trek" to her to race, she raced and gave it back to me. I cleaned, lube, and after a week thought to use that bike again... I went to rockmart by silver comet and noticed something is wrong to change my gear!!? I took it to "The Bicycle doctor" to see what's wrong with it, the guy take a looked at it said: "I need to spray lubrication fluid inside the shifter!" I said I did! He said: " No, you need to Spay inside!!!"... Ok..., He took it to the mechanic and sprayed inside my shifter... I didn't use that bike for about 2 weeks. When I'm going too far alone, I use that bike. Well, I took that again to a 50 miles ride alone, and I noticed the gear still doesn't work!?? I was so confused... I checked everything (except the derailleur)... I took it to the another shop and a young mechanic saw it said " couples of your gear is locked!?" I said: I didn't lock that!" (I thought something was wrong with my shifter!) Well, I didn't know in some ages, racing, required to lock some speeds!!? Well, I just took that back unlock the speed I was missing, then I was thinking about "a local bike shop, which couldn't notice a problem between a shifter and a derailleurs.... Knowledge is a power... Conclusion: I love those people, why? Because they love bikes and they pushing the neighbors and society use bicycles more often. If you are professional cyclist or tri (specially if you using 4/5k bike) I recommend, "Podium Multi sport" or "Atlanta cycling club". However, you going to experience to meet a lot of amateur stores around which doesn't make them bad in the job they do... (Bad experience happening in everywhere) may be you go spend 8k tri bike from famous bike shop in town but they may have problem to adjust a fitting term on your bike they tried to sell. Or you see a huge company that promoting for triathlon races and their mechanic don't really know how to change a chain (which sounds stupid) but happen a lot to me because bikes are looks simple structure but they deeply very complicated. I took my bike in (which was rebuilt by The Bicycle Doctor) to have a flat fixed. I was thinking that I would need to drop it off and pick it up a few days later. Joel was there and he would be able to fix it in 20 minutes. Not only did he fix it he showed and told me many ways (within the 20 minutes as he fixed the flat) to maintain my bike. Where are you going to get that level and kind of help/repair/instruction? You will find Joel and all the staff to be clear, helpful beyond compare, and a reasonable price. Remember, local bike stores are fading. I have always changed and repaired my own tires and stuff. This was an intelligent move on my part; all for less than $25, and a spare tube to boot. I found them on the web and was hesitant to drag my family's "big box low end bikes" to them for service especially after getting the "bike shop snob" treatment at other shops. Their estimates are always spot on, and they are clear in explaining exactly what needs to be done. I felt welcome from the moment I stepped in the door..even by the famly cat! :) They tuned up the bikes like new and at a very affordable price. Fast forward one year later and my kids' bikes are still riding like new. A triathlon teammate directed me to the Bicycle Doctor, and at first I was a bit intimidated, since it looks like a SERIOUS bike shop (you can see the workshop from the "sales floor," and the bikes and other merchandise are super high-end). I have a fleet of seven bicycles, mostly older vintage, and do almost all the work myself. When I don't have the right tool for the job, I stop in to this shop. The last two service trips have been a quick in and out - most recently to have a badly corroded bottom bracket removed from a 20-year-old Cannondale. I planned to leave the bike but they were able to get to it right away and remove the BB. Curtis put the four-foot "cheater" on the bottom bracket tool, then measured the spindle length so I knew what came off (I wasn't getting a bottom bracket that day since I was upgrading the crankset), but wanted to have the info in case I went back to the old crank later. A few hours later, I got a phone call from Curtis that they had forgotten to give me my bottom bracket back, and to see if I needed it. I didn't need it, but it was nice to see how much they cared (and were willing to take the time to go into the computer and find my information). The previous trip in, had a fork steerer cut to size inside of ten minutes. Also, it was fun to carry in a 22 year old, bare mountainbike frame and have Curtis say "Is that an old 'Beast of the East'?" as soon as I carried it in the door. He was genuinely interested in it and recalled his days in a Cannondale shop back in the 90s, and we talked about all the weird paint schemes and colors from the '90s. There's no bicycle shop "attitude" here. I've carried in several of those older bikes, and always been treated well. I've seen plenty of other customers with everything from sub-$200 department store bikes to low-end name-brand frames all be treated with the same courtesy. I know enough to know when a shop employee or mechanic is giving good advice, and I've always heard good advice given to others. Also, twice I've been in the store when there was a customer who was maybe a little down on their luck and using a rough bike for their primary transport and saw Curtis be equally respectful to that person, as to clean-cut, bike-savvy me, and to people looking ready to drop a couple of thousand bucks on a bike. Was excited to find these guys as I have a "vintage" mountain bike I wanted to have stripped down and totally restored. These guys sounded perfect, no attitude work on all bikes, all the things you want to hear, figured I would give them a try since I would be working down the road from them for a while. Took my bike in, and it is in need of work no argument there, but was quickly told it was not worth my money to have them redo it, and quoted me at at least 600 dollars. Cool, still cheaper than a newer bike in most cases, AND I really wanted to get this bike running again and my spare time is very little ( would rather spend it riding than repairing!) Also just bought my wife a bike as part of our Anniversary gift, the other half was getting my bike up and running so we could ride together on our property. So now stuck rebuilding 2 bikes, plus if I want to be able to ride with my wife by our anniversary will STILL have to pick up a used bike some where. So easy to say you are attitude free and all that other stuff, but not as easy to live up to, seemed like they had the same attitude as most other bike stores, which they seemed to pride themselves in not being.
