I brought my 46" Sony Bravia there for a "common" problem of the tv shutting off by itself. The diagnostic was $50 and said they would call back soon. A week later I called them asking for an update and they came back with $267.50 on top of the $50 I already gave them. They said it was $167.50 for the part and $100 for labor because it was so in depth. I of course said no thank you and I would pick up the "broken" tv as they were insisting they would dispose of the Tv so I didn't have to come pick it up. I did very little research and ordered the part and repaired it myself for a total of $37 including shipping. Please do your research before allowing them to rip you off hundreds of dollars. Only positive I could say of this place at all is the $50 diagnosis I paid upfront. Other than that this place is terrible. read more

I dropped my vacuum off, it was an astronomical quote to be fixed so I decided against having Atlantic TV and Vacuum do the repairs. When I picked the vacuum up it was completely broken and unusable. I would not recommend this place at all! read more

My biggest regret is I should of read the reviews before I let Atlantic Tv near my television. The first visit for the tech to come to the house cost $65.00. He told us he would need to diagnose it at the shop and he couldn't bring it there since it was to big. So it was us having to lug our 50 inch Samsung flat screen. We were told one of the panels went bad and the price to fix would be $330.00 I took the word of the tech when he said we should do it since they don't make them like this anymore. I was told it was fixed. We pick it up. It worked for a week. It goes dark again and we are told it has to be brought back. We drop it off and go away on vacation thinking they will have it fixed when we get back. Unfortunately nobody looked at it in the 2 weeks we were gone. They need more time. After another week they say the tv is fine. Come get it. We had enough of 2 months of going back and forth. Working not working. In the end We did pick it up and it will sit in the basement. We bought a new tv and in closing l would like to add by not repairing my tv, but still charging a small fortune and your crabby customer service people I want to give your business minus 0 stars and I will always read the reviews first from now on. I had a HORRIBLE experience here! Brought in a pair of expensive headsets (Beats by Dre) to have the jack repaired....told me $30 just to look at them. Told me $120 to fix. I agreed. When I went to pick them up, they can't find them...this went on for a week, then they find out they were STOLEN as they CAN'T LOCATE THEM! Rather than apologize and give me the replacement cost, the OWNER TELLS ME TO WAIT...I wait another week. i have to keep calling HIM to follow up! I provide details of purchase price and replacements cost (approximately $300). INSTEAD OF PAYING FOR THEM...HE BUYS A FAKE / IMITATION PAIR TO GIVE TO ME FOR MY SON!!! We verified that these were knock offs after we got home. I was so angry I should have taken him to the better business bureaus, but I NEVER WANT TO SEE HIM OR GO THERE AGAIN!! He was LIABLE FPR THE THEFT/ LOSS and did not do what he is responsible by law to do : PROVIDE FAIR MARKET VALUE REPLACEMENT PRICE. He actually had the nerve to ask me how old they were...as if he could devalue the price!! My son bought these with his bday money. He knew that and did the WRONG THING HERE. LEGALLY AND MORALLY. I'm not accustomed to doing reviews but, recent experience with these people brought me to it. It's a long story so, bear with me. Bottom line, I agree with HS from 4/22/14. They are crooks and criminals. My flat screen died so, I brought it in and paid the $50 to find out the issue and get an estimate. I'm a bit of a DIY guy but, can't diagnose. It was the power supply and he wanted $315 to fix (the $50 would be credited). But, something just didn't feel right. I spoke with him several times to understand why it would be so much. The written est said $135 for the new power supply + $29 for a harness and another $130 labor + $20.58 tax So, I went online and did my research. The MOST expensive price for the PS Module for my TV was $45! There were a number of YouTube videos showing how to replace it that i could not believe how simple it was to do. 5 min tops to remove the back, disconnect the module (a flat board about 5" x 8", connect new one, screw back into place and turn TV back on! I knew then it was a total scam. I decided to get my TV back and do it myself. I went down to pick up the TV on a weekend morning. Once there they refused to give it to me! I didn't owe them any $ as you pay the $50 upfront, I just wanted to take it and go. The owner was on holiday so we went back into the shop to look and see why he'd left word not-to-release. There was a slip of paper taped to my TV saying "TV works, do not release". What he had done was stick a used PS module from one of the many hundreds of old TVs around and was just waiting for me to pay my $315 for a used part and 5 min of labor. I was not happy nor would you be but, I was calm. I restated that I wanted my TV now because it is a long trip, I have to work and can't keep coming back, that I owe them nothing. A big burly guy then came out from the back of the shop with a big lead pipe in his hand slapping it down in his other hand and confronted me saying, "You aren't taking the TV". I said , "You've got to be kidding me. You're threatening a 62-yr-old man with bodily harm now? Let's call the police". And they did. I was in the right and was prepared to deal with it so, I calmly walked outside and waited at my car until the police arrived, which was fast. They were nice and we each explained our stories (separately). The officer knew I was right and they could not deny I was paid in full but, he could not make them release my TV until the owner returned next week either. I left without my TV. The owner called me the following week and was pleasant enough in conversation as was I but had no excuse for his man that had threatened to hurt me. He did not apologize, either. He tried to brush it off as a "misunderstanding". Days later when I returned for the TV he personally came from the back with it and without any word or apologies for the incident helped me put it in my car. We were done. I had already ordered the part from ShopJimmy.com for $40 and it was waiting for me at home. The replacement actually took 10 minutes instead of 5 and the TV turned back on immediately and is working beautifully since. BTW, I could also have opted for another $30 ($70 total) to replace ALL of the boards in the TV. And those are about all the parts there are! So, what they are doing is scamming people, using used parts (he admitted in one of our early conversations to shopping Craig's List for junk TVs he'll get just for parts) and charging 3 to 4 times the price of a new part. And, there was Never a harness needed. The board screws right to the same place the old one was. That was just a made-up part he can jack up the repair price even more. They count on people not doing any research or much less thinking they could do a simple repair like this themselves. And $130 labor for 5 min of work? It's a joke. I suppose one could say that you do get your TV or appliance repaired and that's true. But, it is using parts you have NO idea where they came from (not new) or how old they are and paying them hundreds for labor that takes them minutes. In my opinion they should be investigated by the Attorney General's office and shut down. I can't imagine how many thousands of people they've scammed in the years they've been in business. This may also be the practice of other repair shops but, this story confirms it is exactly how Atlantic TV operates. I would not take the time to write this much but, wish someone had helped me know beforehand so, if it helps others from being scammed as I (almost) was, then it's worth it. read more

This place is a HUGE rip off. I brought in a TV that is 7 months old and still under warranty they first wanted to charge me $50.00 to look at it. after I explained that LG told me to bring it there and waiting they said that they would look at it. Two days later I get a phone call from them saying that the inner screen is broke and I would have to pay $780.00 if I wanted it fixed. The TV didn't even cost me that much. When a service tech came to my house from LG they said even if that is not covered under warranty it would only cost $200 at the most for that part. No one in that place knew what they were talking about. This is the first time that I ever posted a review cause I don't like to talk about other people and I feel bad knowing that people need to make a living but I just can't stand when business try to rob people. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. I took my tv to get repaired and they told me it was working fine nothing was wrong. Great. I bring it home and it shuts off again. I bring it back and leave it for over a week. I got one phone call from the manager who said it is working fine but he will keep an eye on it. I never received another phone call. After numerous attempts and them telling me they'd call back with an update (and me having to constantly call them), they say nothing is wrong. I tell them ok then I'll set up a service call for a tech to come to my house when it stops working again, thinking I'd only have to pay the difference not an entire new diagnostic fee when they didn't diagnose it at all yet! The receptionist was very nice and put me on the phone with the "manager" Gideon. He kept interrupting me and yelling at me over the phone and then THREATENED me when I told him I was going to leave a bad review for taking people's money and not working with them to resolve their issues. Their service is TERRIBLE. Why pay for a diagnostic fee and not have anything done? I'm picking up my tv and taking my business elsewhere. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! read more

I won't be going back here again. I brought in a bass amp to be fixed. They told me I had to pay $30 for them to tell me if it could be fixed. I paid $30. After several days I called them to find out about the amp. They said they would call in a few more days. After two more days they called to tell me that it could be fixed for $200. I said fine. Two weeks later I hadn't heard anything. Then began the frustrating process of me calling them every few days only to be told different stories each time. They were working on it. They had a call in to a supplier for a part. The part was on its way. They hadn't heard back from the supplier. Then finally I told them I'd give them one more day, then would come in to pick up the amp and get it fixed elsewhere. They said they would call me the next day. They didn't. I went to the store the next day. They told me I should have called before I came in. They then told me that the part was no longer available. I asked for the amp. They said it had been taken apart and they would call me the next day to inform me of when I could pick it up. They didn't call the next day. The following day I went back to the store and asked for my amp. They wheeled it out to me, made me sign for it, and I took it. No apology. No explanation for the one month and one week, and $30 tragedy of them doing whatever it was that they did with my amp. I took it to another repair facility and will find out (again) if it can be fixed. This was a big waste of time. read more

One star because I have to in order to write a review. I wish I would have read the reviews before doing business with Atlantic TV & Vaccum. This place is a rip off. My flat screen fell off the stand making a crack on the screen. I bring it to Atlantic TV & Vaccum and they say they have to charge $50 for diagnostics, but I would be able to use the $50 towards the repair of the TV. Later Gidon (the manager) tells me he can't fix it as it will cost $600, more than what the TV is worth. He offers me a refurbished TV that is bulky in the back of it, can't even tell me the year of the TV and he wants to sell it to me for $300, but says I can pay $200 cash. I notice that he has another TV that looks newer that he is selling for $350 but he tells me I would have to pay $275. I said "Shouldn't it be $250? You already have $50 of mine and you were willing to discount $50 on the old TV but only $25 on this one?" He kind of chuckled and said that is the best I can offer you is $275. I told him "You are not even trying to work with me. Is this the way you do business? I am not going to give your business a good review." He could careless. His response to me was "Don't worry I'll respond to the review." I honestly really feel so cheated. I have not ever been treated so unprofessional in my life. I think he originally knew he would NOT be able to repair the screen, but still wanted to charge me $50 for "diagnostics" to try and get rid of his old TV's to buy. The refurbished TV's there are overpriced. You are better off going to Best Buy. I feel bad for the ladies in the front who are so nice and have to deal with such an arrogant person as Gidon. worst company.. my samsung tv jack came off while dusting.. i called them and asked how much it would cost to solder it.. the person over phone was rude and was trying to tell that this would cost a lot. we need to leave the tv for a week. we took it to new smart electronics in woodbridge and they soldered it in 30 mins. its working great.
