This is our fourth visit to this restaurant and it's awesome. The staff is great. The some AA is a waitress and a wine expert and was amazing. The food is incredible. I had the octopus salad appetizer, which was amazing and then followed up that with the bouillabaisse, which had all the seafood shrimp, lobster scallops, mussels it was amazing. But one of the best things is the dirty martini with olives filled with caviar wow what a winner. All in all great service great food great drink can't say enough about this place. read more

This place is very cute right in downtown Franklinton. The service was pretty attentive and everyone was friendly. The menu was not the same as they have on their website, so I would recommend updated that. My husband got the blacked red fish and noted that the outside was more charred than just "blacked." The chicken was tasty, but nothing special and it was nearly impossible to cut with the table knife provided. Would return to try other menu items. read more

We dig this place. Eaten there a few times and every time it is great. I will say the shrimp and grits are outstanding. But nothing I have had is short of great. Ken is the quintessential bartender and the rest of the staff does a great job too. I know this might sound over the top positive, but it is awesome. Beautiful space, I really like how they redecorated when they created Atlantic Prime. Our server was top notch. Food was mixed. The crab cake was great, but the sauce on top had way too much mustard. The red fish was moist and flaky, but I wouldn't call it blackened, I would say more charred. Bouillabaise was awesome as was the shrimp bolognese. Finally got to go here after my husband surprised me with reservations on my birthday. Since he is allergic to shellfish his options were limited so he ordered the burger and it was incredible and I had the scallops with coconut rice which was delicious. This was our second time at Atlantic Prime and it won't be the last. The atmosphere is so friendly from the time you are greeted at the door until the meal is over. We were early for our reservation so we sat at the bar and ordered a drink. The bartenders are tops! They really know how to keep everyone comfortable and entertained. The drinks are great and reasonably priced. The food was fantastic. Both of us ordered fish (Mahi Mahi and Salmon) with a choice of four different accompaniments. Both choices were extremely tasty! Our waitress was very helpful and attentive. We had a wonderful time and look forward to returning. read more

I liked the dimly lit aesthetic. It matched the atmosphere we were looking for. For starters, we ate the fried calamari. It was seasoned well. I ordered the lobster roll which was good but it had a bit too much of tarragon. Also, I was expecting it to be warmed but it's chilled. The shrimp and grits were perfect. I took my friend for her birthday and we had an incredible meal. Teal was our waitress and she was incredibly informative, helpful and friendly. She took great care of us. We got the tuna appetizer which was delicious and I loved the chow chow it was made with. I got the shrimp and grits as my main dish and it was a huge portion and tasted amazing. The shrimp were perfectly cooked. My only compliant was the sausage, which I felt was un-necessary and a bit on the chewy side. I had plenty to bring home for lunch the following day. My friend got the salmon and I tried a bite. She loved it and so did I. I got a non alcoholic drink (cant remember which one but it tasted like almonds) and really enjoyed that. My friend tasted 2 wines and learned a ton about them from Teal before choosing one that she also enjoyed. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back! read more

This was our first time here and it won't be the last. It was a complete home run. The decor is well done and inviting. Our server, Teill, was warm, friendly and beyond helpful and informative. The food was excellent, from the baked oysters and smoked fish dip with deep fried saltines to the outstandingly flavorful shrimp and grits. The chocolate Budino was a perfect finish. Meh I'm a one and done. I wanted to like this place because friends raved about it and it's close to home. I ordered the blacken red fish it was dry and not much flavor . I expected to at least taste spices in a blacken fish - none. The service was polite. We had 6:30 reservations the restaurant was sparsely populated and yet we were asked to sit at the bar and WAIT 10 minutes until the servers "caught" up. The couple who came at the same time were seated immediately. For the price point ima drive to Raleigh. I think it is overly expensive for no reason and the service is nothing special. Once again, and it's eons from being the last, my wife and I were delighted to dine at Atlantic Prime Coastal Kitchen in Franklinton. We were also lucky enough to have Alexis as our server again! We started the evening with the Florida style Fish Dip, (the absolute BEST we've ever had!), with the fried seasoned crackers. We will have to try a different appetizer, but cannot break free of this offerings grasp!!!! My wife had the Shrimp and Grits..... When I tell you that it sets the bar on what Cheddar Shrimp and Andouille Grits should taste like, you'll have to try it to believe it!!!!!! It's beyond words.... I enjoyed the Grilled Grouper with Charred Onions, Marinated Tomatoes,, Avacado, and Goat Cheese with A home made Chimichurri sauce. Delicious.... Perfectly prepared, with a postcard presentation. The decor reminds us so much of our old home in Florida, it's like stepping back in time, but with even better food!!!!! If this establishment was located on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach, there would be a line around the block to get a seat! We couldn't get a picture of the Coconut Tres Leches, as we devoured it as soon as Alexis put it down! If you make reservations, ask for Alexis! The decor is beautiful, service was wonderful, staff amazing and super friendly but the food was underwhelming sadly. The lobster roll had too much going on, I prefer a simple lightly dressed lobster roll and it was over salted along with the fries very heavily. My husband had the gulf shrimp bolognese which he liked but it was just ok to me. We also got the lobster hush puppies which were over fried. I did enjoy my mocktail sour it was delicious and I would definitely get it again. Overall I would give it another go maybe just an off night. read more

The ambiance is nice, nothing fa ncy, but the bill was! The fish dishes were flavored well, but a little overcooked. Service was extremely slow. The restaurant was not busy at all and nothing we ordered should take more than 10 minutes to cook. Our waitress was nice and gave good recommendations. It was obvious she was happy working there. A party of 5 of us ate there last night and had incredible food and service. Very nice atmosphere too. I know it was a Wednesday but there was a surprising amount of open seats. My group decided to start with appetizers and we got a lot. The seafood tower which consisted of an assortment of baked oysters, shrimp cocktail, shrimp ceviche, sliced seared tuna and smoked fish dip were all excellent. We were all a little skeptical of the smoked fish dip but we all loved it! We got an extra order of baked oysters and the coastal hush puppies which were also excellent. We had so many appetizers that only two of us got entrees. The tuna steak and blackened redfish were top notch and nothing went home! As we had a birthday in the group they gave him a free tres leches cake slice that we shared. It was moist and delicious. They have a great bartender and two people got prickly pear margaritas while the rest of us got martinis. They were all perfect! Bottom line here, I'm probably shooting myself in the foot but this restaurant can match anything downtown Raleigh has to offer. This place should be packed! We can't wait to go back! read more

Went for dinner on the opening night of Atlantic Prime. I was very excited because there are no good seafood places near here, and I seriously needed one. Atlantic Prime did not disappoint. The owners did a great job with the decor. They created a very coastal feel with lots of blues, decorative fish, and nautical ropes. I particularly liked the hurricane shutters over the bar. We shared a starter of the mussels in white wine sauce. This is one of my favorite dishes, and I order it anytime I see it. I've had it many many times in many places. I thought it would be a good bellweather for the restaurant, and I was not wrong. To be honest I didnt like the presentation. It was served in a dark colored, too narrow bowl, and the mussels were hardly visible. However, these mussels were the best mussels in white wine sauce I ever had! The mussels were cooked perfectly, and they were of superior quality. Plump and tender, twice the size of mussels traditionally served. The wine sauce was fresh and delicious. My main entree was the Antarctic Salmon. The salmon was served with a cold orzo and tomato salad on top which was a fantastic complement to the fish.Others in my party had the striped bass, seared tuna, and grilled octopus which also received good reviews from them. My only complaint was the Prime Mojito which came to the table with a sad, dead sprig of mint in it. It Never should have been served like this. Overall I really loved our dinner at Atlantic Prime and look forward to many great dinners there in the future. read more

Service was good . A very pleasant young lady with some knowledge of the menu . Ambience- the decor was very nice , but also very loud . Hard to carry on a conversation without raising your voice . You can take in convert three tables away . Food - I had the so called lobster roll . Very heavy on the fennel. I couldn't taste any lobster . The French fries were frozen shoe string fries that were so heavily salted , I couldn't eat them . My partner had the tuna , which was good , but over use of garlic ruined the plate . I was excited to go there but disappointed in the food . No where near the seafood you would get in a comparable restaurant down on the NC coast . Next time I want seafood, I'll head to the coast of NC or just fix it at home . For the $116.00 ( for two ) expected much better . read more

I've eaten their food three times now. The tuna tostada was exceptional as were the desserts (all of them!). The entrees we got were good, but didn't stand out like the tuna appetizer. The one thing that was problematic was the wait time when I ordered a dessert from the bar. I was getting it to go but there weren't many people inside as it was closer to 9pm. It took quite awhile for them to get my order taken care of and felt like it didn't get the same great service that I was provided when I was seated at a table. We were happy to visit Atlantic Prime Coastal Kitchen on their opening day where we discovered their inventive approach to casual seafood dining. Their innovative menu gave us a lot to discuss! Just a side note: I have a seafood allergy (which they addressed) but my better half loves seafood. Hence the reason for the non seafood choice for an app! Here's a taste of what we enjoyed:  Appetizer: Beef Carpaccio.  The beef carpaccio proved to be an enjoyable first course. The thin carpaccio slices were tender and decadent, served with capers and a parmesan/olive salad with an olive oil drizzle. Every bite delivered a rich yet light taste experience which united deep savory notes with bright flavors to create an excellent start to the meal. Main Course: Shrimp Bolognese. This dish transforms the traditional Bolognese into a seafood-based creation. The dish featured shrimp swimming in a light white wine and saffron cream sauce providing both comforting and elegant flavors. The pappardalle was al dente, the sauce was perfectly seasoned and the shrimp light & tender. A delightful surf-meets-turf twist!  Herb-Roasted Poulet Rouge Chicken with Creamed Spinach. This dish is a true showcase of simplicity done right. Roasted with a delicate blend of herbs, the skin is crisped to golden perfection, while the meat remained tender, juicy, and deeply savory. The creamed spinach was the perfect complement: velvety, comforting, and just indulgent enough. A comforting, elevated classic.  Service: The staff provided us with a welcoming and attentive service from the moment we walked through the door. Lizzie, our server, kept our water glasses full (and my wine ). Her timing was perfect while providing assistance when needed without being intrusive.  Atmosphere: The restaurant presents an inviting casual atmosphere through its coastal-inspired decor with soft lighting and mellow background music which transports you to a sophisticated seaside experience despite being far from the coast.  Bottom Line: Atlantic Prime Coastal Kitchen achieves the perfect balance between comfort and sophistication. The restaurant stands as a must-visit destination for anyone seeking delicious seafood in a coastal-inspired atmosphere. Atmosphere is nice, food selection is okay. We ordered the lobster hush puppies which were very tasty, the tostadas were very tasty, the shrimp and grits were just okay (very brothy, not traditional), and the shrimp bolognese was okay but lacking flavor. All and all the dinner was average at best and for the price it was a little disappointing. If given my choice I'd go to Frankos every time before visiting Atlantic Prime again. read more
