This place is now Azul Vision. I had a great experience with Dr. Javid. She wanted me to see a different specialist, so they called a week later to schedule it. I arrive at 8am for my 8:10am appointment. After 10 minutes they call me to the front desk and inform me that that doctor is at a different office today! I showed them the text I received confirming the apt time, with no mention it'd be at a different location. (I had no idea they HAD a different location! The person who called to schedule also gave no indication of it being at a different location!). I drive to the new office, and while checking in, I notice a basket with those heavy duty eye shades to use when your eyes have been dilated. They never mentioned them after my first visit so I drove home that day being hardly able to see, eyes watering terribly from the sun. I probably shouldn't have even been driving. I mentioned both of these issues to the specialist when I saw him, and he did commiserate. In fact both doctors I saw, one at each location, were great! But the front staff, while always polite, dropped the ball twice, on not giving me those eye shades, and not clarifying the LOCATION of the appointment. So I give the actual doctors 5 stars, but the staff one star. Balances to 3 stars. Lol. read more

Ladies at front desk are super rude especially to the elderly. The way they speak to them is horrible. I've witnessed them tell an elderly women just sign in and sit down and she said how can I if I can't see. They just ignored her. Needless to say they didn't like what I had to say. I was told I needed cataract surgery, and went to see Dr Brookman, who is excellent, and had my surgery, and can't believe how easy it was, and the results have been amazing! I get this place is referred by insurance and usually isn't open on Saturday but come on. Why is the doctor 2 hours behind? How does that happen? The girl at the front sent me on a wild goose chase for a fax number when I realized I forgot my referral paperwork. All I needed was the fax number but instead she just gave me a business card with a fax number section but apparently that's not the right number. When I called my Dr's office I gave them that number. I went back to the front desk to let them know that the fax was on its way and that same girl gave me attitude saying the card didn't even have the fax number. THEN WHAT WAS THE POINT OF GIVING ME THAT business CARD?!? Then she wrote the correct fax number on a post it and it got all sorted. Then after reviewing the referral another woman called me asking if I wanted to get testing done today. I told her I don't live near here so just do everything needed and she cut me off before I could . I'm sorry what is happening? Dr. Nguyen and her staff are amazing, friendly, kind. The optometry department on the other hand....my first visit with Dr. Nguyen was Feb. 18. Because of insurance I had to return to complete the exam?!? This is when I placed the order for my glasses. The selection was priced above what my insurance covers except for three pairs, which were stored 'in the back'. I was told I have 90 days to decide whether the prescription was right for me. The 90 days began at my first visit! Before I had a prescription, before I even had glasses!! I did pick up the glasses today but could not have the fit checked by the technician because she was busy with another patient and was going to lunch after that. Oh wait! I couldn't make an appointment to return because they do not take appointments. It's walk in, hopefully she's not busy or at lunch. read more

Haven't had surgery yet, and that's part of the problem. No one seemed to care about my situation as a senior not being able to drive or function because my eyes are so bad. Waited for over a month for what was supposed to be cataract consult. It was not. Just another eye exam. They no openings for a consult for about 7 more weeks. Paperwork was not done properly and no one explained the process. After a number of phone calls I managed to get a consult sooner. Who knows when the surgery will happen. In the meantime, my vision is so poor that I stopped driving and rarely even leave my house. I am 70, live alone, and am a risk for tripping or falling. read more

Detached retina surgery and surgery had a mishap and Dr (not Logan) nicked a nerve with a blind spot now in the vision in one eye. Went back and Dr. Logan looked at it said let's get some lasik to correct the problem - scheduled it twice and some employee Rosa, useless, said surgery was going to be our out of pocket expense now even though this was THEIR fault. Could never speak to Dr. Logan to get this straightened out that this is on them (Atlantis/ Azul) Dr Logan is great! But, Atlantis or Azul now is terrible. RUN very dissatisfied a if there was a "0" stars that's what we'd mark. read more

I have been to this establishment for many, many years. The staff there was friendly, did my Pterygium there a few times. The doctor Dr. Shahi Gupta who did my procedure and after that my cataract in 2017. She was the Best, unfortunately, she left the establishment and I was with a different doctor there,". Then I can across Dr Logan and I became his patient. I have been with him for a few years till one day he told me that have to Pterygium removed from my right eyes follow by cataract. Procedure went well, I was directed another ophthalmologist which I have never seen before to follow up after my Pterygium and not Dr Logan. So after months after my procedure I wanted to make appointment for my cataract and the gal Rosa Morales who schedule Dr Logan appointments letting me know that Dr Logan was fully and she has to get back to me later due to over 200 patients need appointment. I email her a few days ago, she reply that I need to schedule an appointment with the front desk before Dr Logan can see me. I called the number that was given to me which is a call center, I got bounced around 4 times and still can't get the front desk. Today(01/05/24) I stopped by the Atlantics eyecare in Long Beach CA, front desk girl told me that Dr Logan is not working at this office, I have to drive to Laguna beach to see him So with my experience, this office don't deserved any Star but I still leave one, very disappointed being a royal patient. read more

Appointment at 10:40, at 11:30 - checked to see how much longer and there are still 5 people ahead of my dad... the front desk did not care one bit - this is seriously a representation of how shitty healthcare in America really is. When I asked her what the point of the appointment was she stared at me, deer in headlights. The management had the audacity to tell me that we should expect to wait 2+ hours from the appointment time given... it's their standard operating procedure. But they will still charge you a late fee if you don't show up. This I can clearly see now is a medical provider that could care less and is churning and burning patients for insurance money. Doctor saw my dad for less than 10 mins, left and said he would be right back and we never saw him again. Waited two hours to find out that he was not going to be covered, could have told us over the phone BUT the doctor needed us to come in so he could bill and office visit. I had a frustrating experience with the customer service at the front desk. It seemed like the receptionist might have been having a rough day. My dad's appointment was scheduled for 10:45 AM, but by 11:41 AM, I still hadn't heard anything from anyone. After waiting in confusion, I decided to find out what was going on. To my surprise, I discovered that our appointment had been mistakenly rescheduled to 1 PM. It felt as though the receptionist was indifferent to our situation, almost as if she wanted us to leave and return later without concern for our time or the urgency of my dad's condition. I had taken time off work to bring my dad, who is struggling with very blurry vision, and this lack of communication and care was incredibly disappointing. The lady that works in the glasses are perfect customer service I was leasing to her conversation with her clients, she answers all their question and seems to care. read more

Wow! I don't get the Negative Reviews here. I had my first visit yesterday and had a vey good experience. My appointment was at 2:15. I arrived at 2:00 and since I had Checked In the day before I had no Paperwork to fill out. I waited only 5 minutes before being called in. The Gal who took me back to run a few Preliminary Tests was extremely pleasant and efficient. Dr. Tran couldn't have been nicer and made sure I understood all of what she explained. He came in and barely made eye contact with me, didn't explain anything and left the room without asking me if I had any questions. I did but his answers were abrupt, as he raced out of the room. My follow up appointment was made with Atlantis eyecare on Spring Street in Long Beach, which I HATE!!! I had a horrible experience with them a few years ago and judging from the yelp reviews, they have not gotten any better! I needed a new eye place as I recently relocated, and came here for a general glasses eye exam, dilated eye exam, and new frames/lens on a whim from searching through places that accepted my insurance near me. I didn't have much expectations, but so far I've had wonderful experiences with all the staff and doctor! The receptionists were very friendly and with laid-back, friendly attitudes. They're organized and make everything go smoothly. I forgot the doctor's name but she was so chill and did a great job with my eye exam. I have horrible eye sight so I've done my fair share of eye exams, I could tell when it's a good one! Also when I picked my frames, the person who helped me was courteous and thorough. Had an awful doctors office experience!!! I want to share a few reasons why we hate this place! - AWFUL customer service experience and they were rude both times that my grandma and i went - the staff and doctors do not have patients to deal with their patients and they are very rude - they were in a rush during our eye exams and the two doctors that we saw were passive aggressive, it was very disappointing and we won't be coming back here again! My eye review went fine. picking out the glasses went fine. when it came time to pick them up their moving target of hours of operation sucked. i called at 4:57 (they close at 5 today, 4:30 tomorrow, open a 8:00 today, 8:30 tomorrow.) and told the girl who answered the phone i would be there in 4 minutes. at 5:00 after being on hold she said they were closed and i could come tomorrow. i told her i was 60 seconds away and she said she was sorry they already locked up. like they don't have to leave the front door. i pleaded that everything was paid for and that i just wanted to get my glasses. at 5 oh fucking one. 1 minute after they closed. I'm going to pickup my glasses i paid for tomorrow and then this place can hopefully keep shrinking their hours until they're out of business. I would give this place less stars if i could and they certainly won't be getting another penny from me. I picked up my glasses the following day and will not ever visit this place again. We left this practice for a number of reasons. The first was that Dr. Banuelos recommended that we use a low dose of pupil dilating drops in our 2 year old daughter's eyes to get her to wear her glasses consistently. Now, we understand that Dr. Banuelos was trying to be helpful and use the tools that are available to her. However, we wanted to avoid using drug intervention for a behavioral issue. We were able to get our daughter to wear her glasses by getting a more thorough eye exam which yielded a better prescription and a pair of glasses that fit better at another practice. The second issue that we had was that they wanted to charge per page for medical records for us personally, but they would not tell us how many pages our daughter's record was. They also failed to forward the records to our new doctor. We made THREE requests. So, at the end of it, we ended up not even getting them. How's that for healthcare portability? We moved to Dr. Veronique Jotterand's practice, and we have been much happier there. read more

Friendy staff and doctors but the worse performance for eyecare. After the eye test ordered glasses that I couldn't use. They told me to wear them two weeks, which I did and I still couldn't use them. They checked the glasses and said the curvature wasn't correct and re-ordered (same RX). when they came in same thing...didn't work. Am still using my previous glasses as I can read with them and couldn't the others. Also I provided and expensive frame from one of my previous pairs and it came back cracked on the hinge area and eventually broke off. I am going to return to my previous eye doctor and pay 100 percent rather than go to an "insurance mandated" eye service that can't get the RX correct. read more

If I could offer 0 star, I would. We have been coming here for years and every time we come, it's always at-least a 2 hour wait. I even have gone to the Downey or Huntington Beach location because they are more organized and get us in and out within the hour. This Long Beach location is just poorly managed. At one point, Dr. Knight started his own practice, and we followed him as my mom only could see a Retina Specialist. It was wonderful until Optum told us we had to go back to Atlantis because Dr. Knight was not in the Optum Network. They do not value our time at all and I have to take time off of work for just an eye follow up. My mother is 82 years old, blind in one eye, deaf and has dementia, so sitting at a Dr. Office for that long is wrong, tiring and really confusing for her. We went on Wednesday for an 8:15am appointment. The tech saw us right away and said that when the Dr. arrived, that she would be the 1st one. I said, you mean the Dr. is not even here? Correct, he gets in at 9am but don't worry, you booked the 1st appointment and he will see you 1st.. After I kept hearing more people get called, I asked front desk, why they have not called my mom.. She said that there were 4 people ahead of her.. So basically, they book 5 people for every time slot and the doctor spends about 15 minutes or less with you, so that is why they are always late.. This location is only about the money and not about the quality and care of the patients.. So, perhaps try to book another location or just know that you will be here for at-least 2 hours minimum. read more

The staff nembers are nice, the doctor (Brookman I believe) was very apologetic for the long wait, but no fault of his. I was there a total of 2 hours. Unacceptable! You can never contact them by phone and when you do get someone, they place you on hold for eternity and then they're not sure about the whether or not you had services performed at their location. My insurance covers $175.00 towards a frame (one hundred and seventy-five!!!) and they don't offer frames in that price range! Not happy, I went to another place that takes my insurance! read more

As with a LOT of reviewers I would give negative stars (for the Long Beach office). I went in last Friday 07/30/21) for a 10:45AM appointment. I arrived at 10:40AM and the lobby was a mad house. I checked in, since I know from past experiences this office is ALWAYS late I asked how long the wait would be. I was told 40 minutes, which means more toward 2 hours! This is no way to run an office. It's like the airlines over booking flights. Maybe someone should contact Dr. Dwayne Logan and let him know the people at the office at Spring & Woodruff are screwing up his business. I finally found an optical location where I feel comfortable with all the knowledge that was provided to me by all the staff. Let me start off by saying that majority of the staff were welcoming from start to finish of my visit. The assistant that assisted me with my exam provided great service and informed me on some tips in resting my eyes throughout the day. The doctor was informative about my vision and how the previous prescription on my glasses only needed a slight change in their prescription to fit my sight. There's no better feeling than walking out of an appointment feeling welcomed and satisfied with the results. read more

Had an appointment recently and the tech (who's name I didn't catch unfortunately) was very detailed in explaining every procedure she did and why it mattered/what it meant which I appreciated very much. They Are Open!!!! I didn't realize a lot of offices are closed right now due to the pandemic happening. So last week when I broke my glasses I got super scared and nervous about how I was going to be able to see. I was having a hard time finding another doctor until I found Atlantis eyecare. Monse assured me that they are open and could take me as soon as possible. & just like that she scheduled my appointment for a few days later. I didn't even realize how close they were until I hopped in my car for the first time in a week. When I got to the office it was very clean and nice. The staff is extremely friendly and nice as well. They were cleaning down any chairs people had sat in. I can tell they know what they were doing here. It wasn't just a quick in and out like some other doctors I've been to where I feel like sometimes my prescription isn't as good as it could be. Dr Tran took the time to triple check my eyes it seemed like. She made sure I was comfortable in my contacts before leaving. I will definitely be returning. I took my uncle in for a cataract consult with Dr. Logan. He was very nice and he greeted us with a huge smile. He gave us a little background story about him and asked us to tell him a little about us which made us feel at ease with him. He then explained the surgery process and options available for my uncle. Which was nice to know there was opinions and he didn't pressure us at all. Even told us to go home think about it and if we had any questions to give him a call again. My uncle was very scared about the surgery but Dr. Logan gave him the break down and also told us there was nothing to worry. He explains everything with exact words you can understand and he gives you a peace of mind with the words he uses. If you get a chance stop by his office you won't be disappointed. read more
