We stayed at The Coral for our anniversary and overall had a decent experience with a few important notes. The room was very clean and well kept, which we definitely appreciated. However, for the amount of money they invest into the property and what guests are paying, the rooms should definitely be updated. The finishes and overall feel are a bit dated and don't quite match the price point or expectations for a special occasion stay. The staff was friendly and polite throughout our visit, which made interactions pleasant. One downside was the early check in time I paid extra for was not accommodated when we arrived. They did refund it, which I appreciated, but it was still inconvenient since we planned our anniversary schedule around getting into the room early. Brunch was good but limited, and having more menu options would really improve the overall experience. With some room updates and expanded brunch choices, this place would be much better. 3.5/5 The Royal Atlantis The Atlantis Bahamas is truly a spectacular resort with stunning amenities and a breathtaking property. From the moment we arrived, the lush grounds and impressive architecture set the tone for a luxurious getaway. The beach here is absolutely gorgeous--powdery white sands and crystal-clear, turquoise waters that are perfect for relaxing or swimming. The scenery is postcard-worthy, making it a perfect backdrop for a memorable vacation. Check-in was smooth, and the front desk staff was friendly and accommodating, answering most of our questions with professionalism. We appreciated that they were able to accommodate our early arrival around 10 a.m. after a red-eye flight, which was a thoughtful touch. During our stay, we also ordered room service--a burger that was okay, but the fries were lukewarm and not very appetizing. To make matters worse, they didn't bring water or a straw with the meal. When we asked the server, the gentleman said he would be back to get them, but unfortunately, he never returned. That small detail really impacted our experience and highlighted some of the service inconsistencies throughout the resort. We did encounter a few other snags, especially with service at various venues. Some places felt like the staff were either absent or lacked enthusiasm, which was surprising given the high standards I expected at such a renowned resort. The overall experience was marred somewhat by the overpricing of food and drinks, with a 25% tax that included tip--quite steep, especially considering the quality of service. It felt like the extra charges might discourage staff from going above and beyond for guests, which was disappointing. Despite these issues, the one standout experience was the Dilly Club, which truly deserves a 5/5 rating. The servers there were especially friendly and attentive, making us feel welcomed. Interestingly, we learned that the Dilly Club is privately owned; had it been operated directly by Atlantis, the service quality might not have been as impressive. Nonetheless, it was a highlight of our trip. On a positive note, the resort's gym was excellent--well-equipped, clean, and perfect for a good workout. The amenities and natural beauty of Atlantis are undeniably impressive, with the vibrant marine habitat, expansive pools, and the stunning beach and water views providing endless opportunities for relaxation and fun. I had several poor interactions with your staff during this trip that made it a negative experience and would deter us from returning to Atlantis. I was not expecting this level of customer service from a hotel with such a strong reputation. 1. Initial Check-In: When we checked in, Aaron at the front desk immediately tried to upsell us on a room upgrade. I informed him that our Black Friday reservation included a complimentary upgrade based on availability, and that I hold Titanium status with Marriott with over 89 nights per year in the network. His demeanor shifted -- he dropped the pitch and told us there was no availability. We were placed on the 2nd floor in an undesirable room tucked behind trees (room 2830) 2. Extending Our Stay: Stranded due to the East Coast snowstorm, the front desk said they could not modify our reservation. Shaleah told us to book online -- where the minimum was 2 nights. I brought my laptop to confirm the issue before booking and she said she could adjust it to 1 night and apply a trip interruption rate. Once booked, the story changed to how we needed to email quality to get the night refund and the trip interruption rate applied. Additionally,, we couldn't use the same room and were forced to check out at 11 AM and check back in at 4 PM. 3. Smoke in the New Room: Our new room reeked of cigarette or cigar smoke. Housekeeping confirmed the smell and promised a room change by 5 PM. We heard nothing. At 8 PM, the front desk said they could not move us -- leaving our three young children (ages 5, 3, and 2) sleeping in a smoke-filled room overnight. This is a serious health concern that should not have been dismissed. I spent approximately $5,000 on the initial reservation, $4,000 in expenses throughout the week, and an additional $1,400 plus $750 for one night stay in a smoke-filled room -- over $12,000 total for a deeply disappointing experience. It didn't feel like the staff was trying to help me. It felt like you were trying to nickel and dime me for everything. It also felt like there was no management in site and the staff was clueless. Bahamas is a great location for a beach holiday with lots and lots of activities you can find. From snorkeling to just swimming in a beach to aquarium to eating seafood! But does it require you to stay stay in the Atlantis Resort. Probably not. It's understood that this is an island and things are expensive! But, costs at Atlantis resorts were beyond my understanding! That said, the food was decent and so was the stay. There is no microwave oven in the rooms and looks like you are charged for heating up your food at any other cafes or restaurants! They have a casino(is it possible that it's rigged for you to lose :D). The restaurants in the resort are good and no one cannot get bored as there are so so many activities in the resort itself! Ive been going to the Atlantis for years, I have stay at the Coral but mostly my stays were spent at the Royal towers ( east and west ). due to my children being young we all enjoyed the water parks + they were too young to get into the COVE. A few years back my younger guy was finally old enough to be admitted in the pool area ( 21 yrs old ). We all had an amazing time , the music was great, the enivorment of sexy older people having a great time was exactly what we were wanted. We recently went back ( Oct 30, 2024 ) and everything has changed for the WORST ! no more loud music, the vibe was HORRIBLE !! and get this , the POOL WAS NOT HEATED !!! NOBODY WAS IN THE POOL DUE TO THE FRIGID TEMPS !!! I complained to numerous people which apparently went on deaf ears. I was poked by a used hypodermic needle at the Atlantis pool in July 2024. Im now on anti viral HIV medication and have to get tested every couple months. Just checked in to the royal towers. They botched my reservation and I had to spend an hour waiting for them to fix it. I had two separate rooms for extended family that were supposed to be connected. Not only were they not connected but one was two queens instead of a king. Also the elevator is not working and we have a stroller. Do not come here. They do not care. Go to turks and caicos. The manager was cold and indifferent. Didn't even tell me the news that they couldn't help me to my face. When taking my 4 year old to use the restroom near shake shack none of the plumbing worked and there was waste everywhere. My son had to run to the other end of the park and urinated himself. The bathroom we found was filthy. A complete nightmare!!! read more

We had a mediocre day at Atlantis. We stopped into the water park as part of our cruise call. The hotel and waterpark seem nice enough, but there's nothing here, or in Nassau in general, that you can't get in the US. First off, the water park is on the opposite side of the resort from the entrance; it took upwards of 30 minutes just to get there. Then once you're there, the park itself is very confusing. It's really just 6 water slides, 3 pools, and a kids area. We were looking forward to a swim, but couldn't because the water was FREEZING. Food options were disappointing for what is supposed to be a luxury island destination; nothing but overpriced hamburgers, hot dogs, and chicken strips, which they apparently ran out of bc they didn't make it to the last ship. The beach is nice, though the jet ski rides are ridiculously expensive. Also worth noting, many of the shops and stores are closed on Sunday. Not the worst resort in the world, but I feel like there are better experiences to be had elsewhere in the Caribbean. read more

Me and my wife was on a cruise to the Bahamas, and we decided to visit the paradise island resort, we were able to visit the aquarium, which was super cool,because it was under ground you literally have to walk down stairs to get to it cool right.you also had a variety of different color fish and some baby sharks that were cool as well .we also was able to go to the beach. Remember you have 2 beaches there,one is for free the other one you have to pay for. We went to the one you had to pay for.note.. the free beach isn't bad .we was able to check that one out also. Reminder you will have a nice walk to ether beach.so make sure you have your walking shoes on lol. When you first arrive at paradise island, and you go to get admission to the beach and aquarium along with the water slides, you pay a fee of $147.00 ,for 2 people to get inside, you will receive a wristband that says paradise iland on it .this is separate from the hotel ,we didn't stay that long at the resort hotel. We were basically there for the beach and to chill at the casino, the resort was huge.note you will do alot of walking if you are going to explore the whole iland,and all of the scenery and attractions. When we were there this year a couple of months ago it was really hot.so we spent hours on the beach.note ..that when you go to the beach the one you pay admission for ,remember the beach chairs are free and they come with umbrella attacted to them. You will have some hustlers trying to sell you beach chairs and and a umbrella for $30.00,dont go for it.And you will have people there trying to sell you drinks ,some really strong drinks, for $10.00 and get the next one for free. Don't get me wrong the beach was Beautiful the water was blue, sand was white ,our stay on the beach was great. But if you are visiting this place and you are balling on a budget. You can visit the casino and they have a free beach there.and many different designers stores to check out, to beat the heat inside the resort. -- Full Vacation Rundown -- The Bahama islands truly are one of the most beautiful places on earth & the Atlantis Paradise Island resort was nothing short of a dream getaway. My husband brought me here for 5 nights for a birthday celebration and i can honestly say in 6 days it was difficult to experience everything the resort had to offer. As you can imagine.... 600+ acres is a lot of ground to cover. One of our first activities after checking in was exploring the multilevel aquarium which is one of the resorts key features. The aquarium includes sharks, stingrays, an array of fish species and of course, the manta-ray. If you're brave enough, one of the resorts' excursion options is to snorkel the tank (photos included) mind you... the excursions and extras are how they make their money. These don't come cheap. We purchased an underwater phone case to videotape and this was one of my absolute favorite parts of the trip. We spent a couple of our days (and still didn't finish) on the resort exploring the many waterslides, lazy river, and plethora of pools and spas that span across the entire property. You'd think this is more for the kids.... absolutely not... it's an exhilarating experience for adults too. Another (cost-effective) way to spend your day is to enjoy snorkeling during low tide on the rear side of the resort. The sea floor is covered with sea urchins, starfish, coral & shells to collect. 'Pieces of 8' is one of the excursion companies that the resort partners with that takes guests off of the resort for a full-day experience of Exuma island + neighboring islands. We chose the package that included iguana island, pig island, swimming with nurse sharks, site-seeing Pablo Escobar's sunken plane, and a seafood dinner to conclude the day. This was undoubtedly the best day of the trip. The boat captains provided drinks and kept our group of 12 entertained throughout the entire day. The dolphin bay is probably one of the most popular attractions at Atlantis. (More of a half-day experience) This was also a great time of feeding and swimming with a few of their 40+ dolphins. As always, photo packages are available for extra $$. They get you here because besides their own company photography, no cameras are allowed. Soooo naturally, we fell victim to the photo package but were very happy with our album. As far as dining, and other attractions, COVID has definitely played a part in this. Make sure to locate the restaurants that are open before you're hungry as you may have a bit to walk to one close to you. Atlantis also has a huge casino, and string of restaurants & dessert boutiques within the marina. This is pretty reliable for dinner, i would suggest reservations to make sure. To conclude, Atlantis Paradise Island was all in all an incredibly memorable vacation. Pleased with staff, service, resort, dining, and most of all the outdoor attractions. It nearly pains me to leave a 2.5 STAR review for a place that I use to consider Paradise. Our family has been coming to the Bahamas since before I was born and I've been coming since my son was a very young boy. YEARS ago Atlantis was by far one of the most pristine properties I had ever experienced. My Dad had a time share here and we'd come with my grandma to stay in the Royal Towers. On our most recent visit I was so taken back by how things have changed. I could barely digest it and could only think this place is so run down it's nearly equivalent to a motel. Quite frankly we've stayed at Best Westerns near National Park entrances that were far more put together than Atlantis Royal Towers. It seems they haven't poured much into keeping the place pristine. The rooms were down right horrifying, the carpet a disaster, the walls scuffed and needing paint, tile chipped, bath towels missing, zero vanity in the restroom, keys not working, doors not opening and closing as they should due to being off of their frame. They are also now putting ADA rooms on the first floor which completely makes sense but also means for over 1k night you are stuck in what feels like a disgusting bunker on ground level with zero views. We had to change rooms once arriving to ours in the West Tower, which is a bit of a trek back to the lobby and my brief encounters with housekeeping staff in the hallway were horrible. I mentioned that our first room hadn't been cleaned and dirty towels and cups were still in with missing towels and she seemed upset with me for the very clear observation that someone wasn't doing their job. Once we moved rooms we were not provided with a full set of towels - many were missing and when I asked her to have a full set from the cart in the hallway, she scuffed at me and was visibly irritated by this - being one of the first few encounters with staff here this was surely no way to start our vacation. The food on the property is absolutely horrifying as well, and food in other towers or in the Marina is nearly identical to what the hotel is piping out (may be all one central kitchen or provider - same muffins, croissants, sandwiches etc.). The only decent place to eat in the hotel is Nobu and we skipped our Bahamian Club rezzie but from a previous review it seems this option may be edible. The wine lists on the property are also horrible, I know I'm not in Napa but they are limited and could use some help! However, the poolside drinks are STRONG which is a + if that's your thing. I also had a bad taxi experience when requesting a taxi from the actual taxi stand at the Coral Towers to go downtown. It should be $4 per person with a group of $13 solo. I waited for a group and was then put in a taxi that let one couple off and charged them $15 then dropped me and charged my $15 after going rounds with him about why it is not $4 when I waited and the hotel told me it would be I paid him $15. Getting to and from downtown is not an inexpensive Lyft or Uber ride it can get quite costly to travel a few short miles. Prices at the resort for just about anything are absolutely outrageous and gratuity is added to everything up front, keep that in mind. We didn't check bags so we left our two cans of $4.99 sunscreen at home to pay $29 a can here. I guess we could have checked a bag for that price. The casino is also so much smaller than I remembered, it's not Vegas Dorothy! But... the silver lining and yes, there is one if you can believe it is the marine life - the aquarium, the Dig, the pools and slides, and outside premises still seem intact as I remember them. Atlantis beach is very nice, crowded... but spending hours here is always a highlight of our trip. This go around, I walked down to Cabbage Beach several times which was a lovely short stroll and soooo worth it (far less people and calmer water). All in all Atlantis is just not what it once was. I'd say it's definitely more geared towards families with small children and if slides and the marine life (which is AWESOME!) aren't all you are going for staying at a more adult resort such as Baha Mar is your best option. read more

This has been the worst vacation we've ever been on! Booked the coral tower only to find out when we got here, that tower is closed. As a matter of fact most of everything is closed. More than half of the water slides are shut down. The lazy river is shut down. Most of the restaurants and shops are shut down. Why even open if this is the product you are putting out? The kids are so disappointed. I am gutted as this was their Christmas present. You are trapped at the resort and can not leave to explore. We were told upon check in, we could not leave to explore, shop, or eat outside of the resort. We like going to the blue lagoon and power boating to exuma to see the swimming pigs / swim with sharks. The Atlantis is ridiculously huge. We got lost several times trying to find our way around. We also got lost getting off the lazy river at the wrong stop and had to walk quite a ways back to our belongings. There are many pools, several beach areas, eateries and water slides. We went on most of the slides which were fun and I have the scrapes and bruises to prove it. Lines are very long for the slides and some are not worth the wait. Their aquarium is quite impressive with small sharks, stingrays and an array of tropical fish. Hotel lobby is beautiful and was decorated nicely for Christmas. The casino is large and has every machine and table game you could want. $170 per person for a day pass is obscene but our parasailing was canceled because of the wind and we had nothing else to do. After spending the day at Atlantis we know that we would never stay there. Just too big for us. read more

I doubt I'd ever stay at this massively overpriced resort again. there are just way more negatives than positives, and tons of alternative less expensive places to vacation. It's a beautiful place, well kept and manicured landscaping. It's a shame they can't develop their staff's enthusiasm to exude more courtesy. Let me begin by saying I'm giving this a one star rating because I was there on a Caesars entertainment "" Diamond status complementary four night stay. If traveling with a family, and having to pay for your room and food it is a very nice five-star resort. When you book a trip to Las Vegas , you're rooms are complementary, and that is the last you hear of it. This is exactly what I thought when I overspent in Las Vegas last August to earn this trip this October. Your food bill there as everyone states is very high. It is at least $250 per couple per day. I understand that. However, I also am there to gamble. My food tab and incidentals ran about $1500 after four days. I wagered close to $50,000. #10,000OfMyOwn. In Las Vegas a quick visit to a casino host and this bill would have been comped off. You will receive no such treatment at Atlantis. The gaming is exactly the same as any place else you win some you lose some, but in the end you expect your players club card to represent what you did and you expect to be rewarded, this is why we return to Las Vegas time and time again. At 9:00 PM the night before you check out, you pay a visit with their so-called casino hosts. These are people who simply look at a computer screen and tell you if you have done anything correctly. The end result was Mr. Kline you have wagered enough to get your rooms complementary and in addition we will subtract $85 from your food bill. This was confusing because my offer was to go there on a complementary stay. So this is like double taxation without representation. We who play at a certain level are there to basically trade our time and money for what we believe to be an extra experience. My final thoughts are this; If you are going to go to Atlantis, book the reservation like any other hotel stay in the Wisconsin Dells or Great Wolf lodge. Save your gambling dollars for Atlantic City and Las Vegas where Caesars entertainment can properly meet and greet you. read more

This is a difficult review for me, I've been coming to the Atlantis for around 30 years. I can remember as they opened the new phases and the property became sprawling. I hate to sound like an 'old fart' but Paradise Island has become s-u-p-e-r commercialized. That said, it's pretty amazing for what it is, but the allure of an underdeveloped (or developing) tropical paradise is long gone, big business is here and thriving! When asked to describe the Atlantis I tell people it's like a Vegas casino property that fell from the sky and landed on the beach. It's lavish and has lots of areas to explore which makes it an adventure. My kids LOVE the property because the pool area is a ginormous water park, which unfortunately comes with the screams and shrills you would expect from kids. Not to worry, there are so many coves and pools you will find something that meets your relaxation expectations, there are adult only pools. The hotel has different towers which come with varying costs; Cove, Royal, Coral, Beach & Reef. I can only speak to the Royal and the Cove. The Royal is very kid friendly but has fairly standard rooms with no frills, while the Cove is adult friendly and more elegant (quiet!). For those that like to gamble, they have a world-class casino (no sports book) with all the table games you would expect. Unfortunately, the masses of people coming through the property have resulted in wear and tear, the new luster has LONG gone, and I was continually mystified at how lazy people on vacation are at picking up after themselves. For how much you spend I'd expect more attention to details, exterior fixtures missing top covers, some with burned out lights, green moss on some of the slides, and a general look of something that has been HEAVILY used. The hotel has several great restaurants, our two favorites being Nobu and the Bahamian Club. There is no lack of food locations with varying levels of cost, from expensive to ridiculous. Be prepared to pay top dollar for everything, this might be the most expensive place I've ever been, and I get around! On top of expensive resort prices, your bill will come with 27% in additional tax; 15% automatic gratuity and 12% VAT (value added tax), and I'm told the VAT tax will increase to 15% by mid-year in 2019. The various aquatic features and sea life are super cool, you can enjoy dolphin encounters or snorkeling in the man-made tanks. The Atlantis has always been a special escape for me with crystal clear ocean water, luxury yachts, gambling, water fun, and unlimited places to explore. This is definitely a once in a lifetime experience you should encounter, but for me, the bloom is off the rose. Next stop Baha Mar. read more

While I had a wonderful time in paradise, the Atlantis is showing the effects of heavy tourism. First, Paradise Island has sold out, it's like Disneyland for the rich & famous. This is a not a sleepy island, it's BIG BUSINESS. I love the ocean, so I was enamored with the theme of the property. Exploring all the water features (enormous tanks, dolphin excursions, water park, beaches, etc.) was the highlight. I don't gamble, except on a few ex-boyfriends, but they do have a great casino for those looking to roll the dice. I do eat, and you will find a lot of world-class spots. My favorite was Nobu, which was our nightly got to for food. We also enjoyed the Aura nightclub - make sure to book a table. After a few consecutive nights my girls and I started getting VIP treatment. My biggest problem with the Atlantis is that the service is slow, SLOW and the property is showing age. All the subtle things are amiss (too many to cover), and I found the rooms to be underwhelming. I paid $700+/night for a room that had no frills, except that it was in the Bahamas. I never complain about cost, but this resort gives me pause. The added gratuity and tourist tax became laughable after the first day, being that the Atlantis is regulated on your room card we would laugh and charge everything, until the bill caught up with us on the last day. We were so happy with the staff and everyone we've been able to make friendships with over the last two years, however that has changed. We were met with charges at check out that did not equate to what we were supposed to be charged and then told our room credit would not be applied at check out. So to not only be charged for things that we did not do or use, and then be told our credit was not valid was absolutely ridiculous. Make sure you have things in writing and check your charges daily. We will be taking our business to other properties moving forward, which we hate but to be lied to and cheated is not the way to end your vacation. read more

This was my 33rd time and have always loved it, however the shuttles have become very very dangerous!!!!!!!!!! Not the drivers but the wait to get on. I witnessed a autistic child pushed out of the way , a 14 year old called a bitch as someone jumped in front of her. I myself was pushed into the way of a coming car. A elderly lady on oxygen being shoved. At one point at the royal towers over 50 people waiting to catch a shuttle and all running towards them when they came. Some is going to get killed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rooms not ready for over 3 hourts from ETA at hotel, no hospitatlity lounge, no hospitality. People sleeping on the lounges in the lobby, pretty disgraceful. Bathrooms not manitained, Toilet seats cracked, walls plastered and not re-painted. Room was not ready until 4:30 PM, toilet ran all night and not given ocean view as requested. Food was the biggest disappointment, NOBU not like LA or NYC, Steak at Seafire grill was complete fat, Cafe Martinque was awful, food a disgrace, service there a match. Check out was as bad, didn't have food plan for the bill, paid for 4, only removed three, have to follow up. In addition there's a 10% VAT(government fee on everything) anda 15% gratuity on everything. Quite the disappointment, I will never go back, but maybe try the BAHA MA by Hyatt. More than pleased, I wish I could give 10 stars! Every single person at the resort, on the island for that fact, is incredibly friendly and beautiful! The service was that of a 5 star resort and the grounds were impeccable. We stayed in the Cove tower so we could have access to the newly remodeled Cove Adult Only pool, and it was worth every penny! The pool is beautiful, expansive and relaxing. The live DJ was just right and hit the playlist on the money. The poolside service was great but it is definitely island relaxed, so expect to be patient. The drinks are good, not weak and the food is really tasty (all fresh!) The grounds are beautiful with twelve pools/lagoons and miles of pristine beaches! The hubby and I loved every second we had at the resort and cannot wait to come back, we'll even bring the boys for a trip as it's a super family friendly place too! Do yourself a favor and book a stay at Atlantis you will NOT regret it! read more

May 2023 We just arrived back from a week at Atlantis resort at the Cove. We rented the Cabanas at the Cove for all 5 days and still had to wait everyday to find out is we were awarded a Cabana for that day. It was brought to our attention that the Casino Guest receive the Cabanas as comps along with many other perks. After 20 years of vacationing at Atlantis, generally once or twin per year, over 35 times, we have never been comped, upgraded or even recognized for our loyalty. We have spent over $700K over the years. This trip alone cost over $13K for the two rooms and $14k for the Cabanas. I asked to speak with a customer representative while the resort and was told they would contact me. I have yet to be contacted. It amazes me that after all these years our business does not seem to matter. In comparison we also use the Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton Hotels and after approximately 4 stays at each, we are treated like gold, receive upgrades and are viewed as VIP guest. If I do not hear back from someone regarding this matter I am sure that there are many other fine hotels in the Bahamas who would be interested in our business. read more

Visited Atlantis for a day as our excursion from our cruise. Let me just say the grounds are absolutely beautiful. It has an amazing atmosphere. And it truly does feel incredible to be in. The lazy river was also very cool. There are also several negatives. Everyone gets a wrist band for Atlantis. But you have different colored bands from the hotel guests. So You aren't allowed in their pool, the beach, or hot tub. You can only do the water slides and lazy river. We kind of felt like we were missing out on several things and like we were treated badly for not being a hotel guest. The food was also only ok. We bought burgers from a food stand. The soda fountains wEre also swarming with bees. Which is frustrating when you are thirsty! All in all, it was an amazing experience but way too expensive. Especially since we aren't given the same access as guests . We paid 400 dollars through the excursion from royal Caribbean. Which felt too much for just water slides. read more

I just got back from trip to Atlantis, with my grandkids, and had a great time. We stayed at the Reef but spent most of our time at the Royal. the amenities there, especially their water features were top rate. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Getting around was very easy with the shuttle service they provide. The negatives in my opinion were that food generally were mediocre but expensive. read more

When we checked in we were given keys to a room that was not cleaned. Bottles and cans everywhere, womens hair, towels on the bathroom floors. The second room they gave us was at a higher floor and cleaned. But when we got to the room, it was cracked open. We thought nothing of it. Until my wife went to take a shower and stepped on a dirty razor blade. It got stuck to her foot but thankfully she did not get cut. The hotel gave us the run around and said they would speak to manager this and that. At the end they said they wouldnt compensate us further and can give us some strawberries for our inconvenience. My wife would've had to been rushed to the ER to get tested but they did not care. Never coming back here again. read more

The magic is disappearing if they don't renovate soon. Back 15 years ago I was amazed 15 years later as expected the hotel is starting to show its wear and tear especially in the royal hotel. It is expected as the heat and humidity I am sure plays a big part in it. The problem is your still charging the dates you are charging when your rooms are falling apart with tubs rusting and all the metal in the bathroom also showing the rust. The aquarium especially by the predators tank is really starting to lose its luster as you see the tank is his cloudy. Don't get me wrong the pools around the resort still do the job, but the rooms need a lot of work especially when your paying premium prices for it. read more

Tourists BEWARE - Atlantis will try to take advantage of you. The day we arrived at port there were 4 total cruise ships at port due to some rerouting because of hurricane Beryl. Basically, Nassau got an unexpected influx of people who were rerouted to the Bahamas from other destinations on their cruises. Atlantis made sure to capitalize on this. First, we were met by an Atlantis employee who stopped us, asked us what we needed, and we politely asked where we could get tickets to the aquarium, she told us we could not get tickets to the aquarium because it's closed until 12pm and we could come back then. I asked what we should do in the meantime as that was a two hour gap for us with two toddlers and she said you can walk around. We went to the front desk of the hotel, and we were told that the aquarium is never closed and that it certainly is not closed until noon. We were directed to the day pass desk where they were charging $195 per person. There was no other way to access the aquarium without paying this outrageous fee and they were guards at the door to make sure no one could access without a wristband. Why was there no reasonable fee to just walk through the aquarium? Why take advantage of tourists and make them pay a huge fee just to take a three-year-old and a one-year-old through the aquarium? Disappointed is an understatement. What a hassle for us with the kids. We will not be returning to Atlantis. read more

This is day three on the Island. In my wanting to share our experience today the third day on the island, this is posting - as an "updated review", but it is actually an - "in addition to, review". Enjoy my initial review dated February 15, 2020 to see the amazing experience that we had on our second day. With that being noted.... Today we walked with the sharks! Atlantis offers this crazily amazing adventure where you actually walk under water with the different variations of sharks. Coming out of my comfort zone was a must, but being with another that you can truly trust - you can do it! This adventure is located at the Mayan Temple where we were adorend with helmets that allowed us to actually walk on the bottom with the sharks! Feeling them slide past your body was terrifying, yet extremely fascinating. Being in the cystal blue water is thee most beautiful experience one can witness and enveloped in. I have been to the carribean in the past, but this time was so much more amazing to me. The grounds are truly mesmerizing and oh yes, very romantic even when - swimming with sharks, totally laughing out loud! This was just one of the many, many fun adventures that we have experienced while on the island. Tomorrow, is our last day, but back to the grind in order to continue to experience life as we do and as we have this Valentines weekend - we will be back again. Ciao! read more

Adults-only trip to Atlantis: a surprisingly good time. To enjoy a trip to Atlantis, you have to be realistic in your expectations. You are not going to The Bahamas. You are going to Atlantis. Do you picture vacation as a laid back island paradise, a sleepy beach with a hammock? Skip this! But if you're up for going to a mega resort, with all the pros and con that come with it, this is a good spot and definitely a unique one. We were among the few people at Atlantis without kids. I was braced for max chaos and kids literally running around and screaming constantly, but it wasn't that bad (EXCEPT in the lobby check in area of The Beach/The Coral. I have never seen such constant pandemonium). The resort is big enough that there is room to spread out; if you venture to some further pools and set up near the deep end, it can be pretty chill. My sister and I (in our 20s and 30s) had a really good time at the water park. We went on the rides in the morning or towards the end of the day and the line wasn't bad, maybe 20-30 min. On a rainy day we were able to run through a few with zero line. I liked Atlantis for our family vaca because there was just so much to do. Explore different pools, different beaches, different cocktails... we had enough activity to keep it interesting and fun. Don't get me wrong I also love the max chill hammock vacations, but for a family trip, this hit the mark and doing things like the aquarium snorkel and rapids river made it really memorable. Just fun weird stuff you wouldn't do anywhere besides here. 1-2 stars come off for the generally rough guest experience you have here, especially with the rooms. I read reviews of a broken toilet, a stained carpet, minor stuff, whatever. What are the chances it happens to me? Low! But the thing about Atlantis--there are *enough* of these little "what are the chance it happens to me" fiascos that your chances of running into one is actually high, and all it takes is a backed up toilet or an hours-long room lockout over dinner to turn a fun day into a cranky day--or week-- for the whole family. If you are interested in the details of our specific fiasco (which are pretty boring!): our key didn't work when we checked in. What should have been a 3 minute fix was mysteriously an hours-long fiasco, with me standing in a wet bathing suit the whole time. A few hours spent cold, wet, and hangry during dinner (after a day of travel that began at 2:30am) pushes you into that I-can-only-laugh frustration and delirium. After a few hours and a failed master key attempt, they conceded and gave us a new room. Moral of the story, it's fine! But Atlantis is teeming with these paper cut frustrations that you don't want to deal with on an expensive Caribbean vacation, and that is the biggest drawback to this resort. read more

Additionally, As a Marriott rewards member, this brand has my preference when traveling until spending three terrible nights at Atlantis. You win repeat business by delivering consistent experiences related to service and cleanliness. I ended up at Atlantis for a destination wedding. This is the worst resort I've ever stayed at. Before, during, and after now my card is overcharged! I do not and would not ever recommend this 3 star resort with 1 star service. As a Marriott rewards member I was excited and highly anticipating my stay. That feeling was quickly diminished by every employee encounter and entrance/exit into room. I booked this hotel through the Atlantis wedding portal. The stipulations of receiving the group wedding rate were that one needed to use a credit card to deposit a minimum of two nights to reserve the room. If a deposit was not made then the reservation was not confirmed. The week of my checkin I called the hotel to verify my remaining balance. At this time the phone agent shared there was no record of my deposit although they had my credit card on file. After one hour wasted on the phone I requested that someone from the resort billing office or wedding coordinator call me back to review this discrepancy. I was promised a call back from the agent. I was trying to be proactive and find resolve. No one wants to spend unnecessary time settling administrative mistakes during vacation. No one ever returned my call. This was the first indication of the unprofessionalism, lack of integrity, and incompetence that would follow. The room was gross, old, and overrun. Gross because of the stains on the shower curtain, walls, and floors. It smelled like sea water and mildew. The carpet has seen its day. I requested a room change and both the first and second rooms were equally unclean. After the second change I wanted management followup. No one ever contacted me to rectify the situation. Now I'm home and my card is overcharged and your phone line is not accepting calls. Reasons this is the worst customer service ever: 1.need to have better coordination for verifying hotel guests seems quite disorganized 2.Unclear resort signs; after asking staff for directions they often had a blank look on their face Unhelpful staff when lost and looking for wedding location. I was asked by staff if there was actually an on-site wedding (asked several people for assistance) which is totally inappropriate and offensive given the financial investment made by everyone traveling here 4.Asked several times to speak to management after the disgusting room I was given on 2 separate occasions in one day;no follow up at resort(before and after trip). Quality hotels/resorts inquire and try to resolve guest dissatisfaction. 5.Bellman charges but no luggage service when I had to change rooms due to the filth and wear of the room; never experienced this type of service when correcting an issue 6. Not a friendly hospitable worker, walk past group of employees who don't speak or smile 7. Changed rooms due to cleanliness, should be followup with manager/only told any changes would be for an additional fee to find a suitable room 8. Requested to have manager at property but received no call back 9. unfriendly workers, most don't smile or speak or have the problem solving capacity to properly answer guest questions 10.Too Many stray cats 11. The only reason this resort didn't get a 5 was because of the prices on food. Most of the quick service restaurants were theme park food at best and extremely expensive. The resort and amenities itself were fantastic. By far my favorite beach resort. read more

We could not been happier with this trip. The best destination to relax, unwind and have fun! As expected, food is pricey (they automatically charge 12% tax and 15% gratuity on every check)but the experience is worth it! Try the conch while you are there. Fish fry is a pretty popular recommendation with the locals but it is not on Paradise Island so we were not able to go. The locals are too friendly, accommodating and nice (except for the staff in Sun & Ice, one of them was rude). The best part is shopping!! It's TAX FREE. Atlantis lived up to our expectations and we will definitely be back for another vacation soon! read more

Atlantis Paradise Island resort is REFUSING to refund money over cancellations due to the pandemic, even though their refund policy states otherwise. Not only did Atlantis have to close their resort during the pandemic, but traveling from the US to the Bahamas was no longer an option due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A note from the president currently listed on the website says the following: "We also want to alleviate any worry you might have about your upcoming reservation. Our dedicated team of reservation agents will be reaching out to assist with rebooking your planned vacation, issuing a refund, or providing you with a stay credit. Please note that we will be making calls in order of arrival date and will be in touch soon." I'd like to note that first off this message is a complete lie. We booked our reservation in October 2019 for a stay in the month of March. We have not heard anything from Atlantis regarding our reservation and after numerous calls and emails since April of this year, we still have yet to receive a refund. This is abominable and extremely unacceptable. We have no control over COVID-19, nor did we have an option to travel there even if we chose to take the risk. I would suggest that no one travel here, in case anything happens as you will likely not receive any money back. I am under the impression that the resort cannot be trusted under any circumstance. They are acting in a very deceptive an unfair manner. read more

What a truly terrible experience. We stayed here for 5 days in July. The wait staff is incredible rude. We were yelled at by one waitress because we didn't order enough drinks from her. She claimed "she wasn't going to make enough money from us" right to our face. I also prepaid 1125 for a dolphin excursion that was cancelled they day of. They claimed all the excursions were cancelled that day because the dolphins were acting up but we came to find out this was not the case. Either way, I was promised a full refund that I have yet to receive. After calling, messaging, and emailing several times, I still have only received a partial refund. Yes, the facilities are beautiful, but it does not make up for the rude and unresponsive staff. It truly put a stain on our vacation and I would never go here again. read more
