We stayed in the Cabot 2 room and really loved having direct access to the balcony area. The balcony area is accessible to everyone staying there, but we never saw anyone else out there. At night, we bundled up with some hot apple cider and got to enjoy a huge lightning storm over Vancouver. We didn't hear any thunder or experience any rain, just the rustling of the trees nearby and an awesome light show. Breakfast was tasty -- which included an assortment of quiches from the Little Red Hen nearby, Greek yogurt with all the fixings, coffee and juices. Overall, we had a really nice, quick escape from the city and loved our stay at this adorable inn!

The ice machine has been broken for quite some time, so if you want ice later in the evening you need to hope the house manager is around. Otherwise it is a wonderful place to stay.

Betty has thought of virtually everything a traveler could need and guests get free reign of the upstairs during their stay. I love that Betty welcomes people to take home unfinished books from her library - "books are meant to be read, not sit on a shelf," she says. Breakfast was made at the prearranged time convenient for us (so appreciated!) and was delicious and abundant. She sat and chatted with us during breakfast and is so personable. We had to depart on a jet plane that afternoon after our 4-day trip to the Evergreen State and had a few bottles of wine that we hadn't enjoyed so I offered them to Betty and she even suggested she could take their value off our bill, although I refused because they were a gift to her for our lovely stay. Would be happy to return to Viewmont Manor if we ever find ourselves back in Bellingham!

Set in the gorgeous but humble Skagit Valley, it is blessed with serene Bay views, visits from herons, rocky beaches and solitude. Plenty of solitude. The proprietors are salt of the earth and appear only as much is necessary - or as much as you'd like. The digs are simple but spacious. But private is pretty much the m.o. here. With only one guest quarters (with two queens), it's just right for a couple or small family. I'll keep the rest for (your) discovery and not spoil it. Comfortable B&B in Port Angeles - we enjoyed our stay last week when we were in the area…read more Five Seasuns B&B is close to the PA ferry terminal (we arrived from Victoria BC), the northern areas of Olympic National Park (Hurricane Ridge, Crescent Lake, Sol Duc Falls) and the northeast part of Olympic peninsula (we visited lavender farms in the Sequim-Dungeness area since our visit coincided with Lavender Fest). Value was fair. We paid $828 for two nights in the Indian Summer Suite ($918 with tax). For this the missus and I got a private bedroom with a queen bed, and our children each got their own beds in the kitchen/living area. The single bathroom and shower stall was adequate for our needs and we had a parking spot underneath the unit. Caroline, who has owned and operated the B&B for 8 years, was consistently communicative, warm and helpful. She baked cookies for us both evenings, and served us healthy and filling breakfasts. She also offered good advice on where to go for dinner and sightseeing. Bonus: the grounds are captivating, with deer and a fish pond on the premises. We would be happy to return.

Ashlyn is not only an amazing host, but also a fantastic chef and lovely interior designer. Inside the main house are two rooms for adults to rent, and there's another house/mother-in-law nextdoor that is for families, but it's not a bed and breakfast. Our room was the photography room, which had her old photography equipment and books. There was also an attached full bathroom. She even had cookies on the nightstand. I can't quite recall the other room, but I feel like it was somewhat floral/antique?? with a large tub in the room. We visited a couple years ago, mind you, so I might be wrong. We wandered the gorgeous property, saw the chickens and other animals, hung out on the porch swing, and the best of all was meeting her dog! It was a gorrrrgeous golden retriever that had the reddest fur that I've ever seen on a dog. Ashlyn was great to talk to, and we'd love to stay there again. Oh, and the breakfast was amazing!
