I went in on a Saturday morning. it is located near Harvard square so it is conveniently located. There were two barbers so I did not have to wait. They cut it one one the sides and three on the top. Just the way I like it. They even trimmed my eyebrows. It two months when I need another haircut, I will be sure to return. read more

Decent haircut but he completely ignored my requests and did his own thing. I asked for a taper with a half inch off the top. Mo gave me a number 5 machine razor all around with no taper and took more than half the length off the top of my head. It took less than 15 minutes and it costs 40$, that seems a little unreasonable to me, especially when you're not getting what you want. I had a schedule appointment with Ayoub, but they said some man named Mo would cut my hair, again, he didn't do a bad job, but it wasn't what I scheduled nor asked for. Also, it seemed like there was a homeless guy just chilling in one of the seats watching, what's up with that? The comment about the homeless man had nothing to do with race. He came in with a ripped up shirt, dozed off in one of the waiting chairs and then left without getting a haircut. He was clearly not a customer and it just seemed unprofessional. Also, the owner replied to this review saying that I was no longer welcome in the shop, so beware that it isn't a very friendly environment for newcomers. read more

Great haricuts at a reasonable price. My teenage son and I each got haircuts from Othmane (mine a classic cut, my son's a fade). We were both extremely satisfied with our clean, fresh cuts. Didn't get what I asked for. Showed the guy a picture, and he still just did whatever he wanted. He gave me a haircut that hasn't been in style since 1960. I look ridiculous. Here's the thing. You have to go to a professional salon. You have to pay the $100. These cheap places are cheap for a reason. They don't know what they're doing. So I blame myself really. I was in Harvard Square, I didn't feel like making an appointment. Fine, gave these guys another shot, even though I knew they suck. It's on me. They ignore what you ask for (length, how you want sides and back done, etc.), and it's a very rushed experience. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes, rather than a more normal 30-40. It doesn't look atrocious, but was cut way too short and isn't what I asked for at all. read more

Jake is a fantastic barber and his new place is terrific. I started getting my hair cut with him before he opened Atlas, and he does such a good job I followed him to his new location. Maybe I caught them on an off day, but my experience was nothing like other reviews described. The barber couldn't have seemed any less interested in cutting my hair. The haircut was rushed even though the place was totally empty. When I asked him to take a little more off the side (like it showed in the picture he quickly glanced at), he made a couple more snips to satisfy me and then moved on. At no point did it seem like I was being listened to. As for the actual haircut, I would've been better off bud letting my hair grow out. Consistently a positive experience - from scheduling to walking out with a fresh cut. I miss the California barbershops and this comes pretty close with the availability for walk-ins, conversations, feel-good atmosphere, and cash only practice. If I know I'll be pressed for time, I go online and book my appointment. Have not had any issues with delays. If it's more of a weekend running errands type of day that includes a haircut, I'll just walk in and see if any of the barbers are available. I've had cuts by the owner and two other guys (one was only there temporarily) and I can't complain about any. Each has their style but all are good about understanding what I want the end product to look like. I've also gone in to just get my edges cleaned up and the price for this is also reasonable. Even after moving further away, I come back to this place for the service. I've also brought my partner here when they're in town. Also planning on showing this spot to an old friend who used to live here for college many years ago & was telling me about all the good spots -- it'll be nice to be the one to say, hey this barbershop is good and a queer friendly space, welcome back to town! I received an excellent haircut today from Latif. I asked him for a low fade, and he delivered - this cut is crispy and clean. I also had the opportunity to see him showcase his skills with the client in front of me, whom he gave a flawless bald fade. Latif was efficient yet meticulous with the clippers and sheers.
