I used to be a member at an MMA gym where they held kickboxing for fitness classes, and I found Legends class to be so much better. I really liked: - how they focus on different areas of the body each day (upper body the day we went). - the classes are the same all day no matter if you come in the AM or PM, so you never miss out. - different punches are numbered and posted largely on the wall near the punching bags -- so it's easy to follow if the instructor shouts out combos in #s. - Tiffany was out instructor, and she was really attentive, helpful, friendly and motivational. I wish all workout instructors were like her. She knows her stuff. - they teach people how to actually box in the fitness class, so you can aim to spar when they deem you ready. - they model combos after actual fights, and play short video clips for people to watch the big dogs actually do the combos you're about to do. - the upper body focus portion around the ring kicked my butt. Very much needed! - they write out details of the workout on a whiteboard, so you're not guessing what's going to happen next. - Tiffany, Berklee (house manager?), and other class patrons actually talked to my BF and I, congratulating us for getting through the class at the end. Normally fighting gyms are not so welcoming, so this was very much appreciated. FYI -- they do not do kickboxing here, but I was still the most sore I've been in a long, long time. I LOVED this gym. We have had our teens join as well and get to work out with them, while someone else teaches and pushes them rather than us. We all leave sweaty, and enjoying our time together. No more parent nagging! Would recommend 100%! Both my husband and I were members of a mainstream, large gym and consistently worked out for 13 years prior to this. First off WOW. Worst pool ever. All they do is blow whistles. No no no don't let the 30 lifeguards…read morefool you, they aren't there to help kids in the water. They are there to blow their whistles at moms if your child swims more than 3 feet away. Every mom has multiple kids. We come prepared for safe swimming. To get kicked out because one of my kids is faster than the other and I'm supposed to stay next to both? The lady with accent in charge of the lifeguards was SOOOO RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL. I hope poop gets thrown in your face.
