My misgivings aside, I gave them another shot. A manager of some sort called me and tried to clear some things up. They offered to test my garments at a national testing facility, at their cost, with an additional dry clean to boot. I accepted. They were very, very contrite and I honestly felt a little bad about the review. The garments came back very clean. The testing facility didn't tell me much I didn't already know (one of my sweaters, not the shirt mentioned in the review, had been previously damaged by hydrogen peroxide; not Atlas's fault). Unfortunately, one thing that really got me, was when they were talking to me over the phone. I said maybe my shirts were getting yellowing stains because their dry cleaning solution was dirty. They said that couldn't be the case, because they had been WET WASHING my shirts. I was dumbfounded. The tags said dry clean only. I was taking them to a dry cleaner. What on earth did they think I wanted them to do? When I informed them that it says dry clean only on the tag, the line when quiet for a moment, and I heard, "...huh. Really?" So, despite their kindness, and their efforts, that's genuinely just too big of a mess up for me. I don't think I can take my review any higher than this, after that. read more

I'm not someone who frequents the dry cleaners often, but I had a duvet that desperately needed to be cleaned. I had spent close to a week researching local spaces and it seemed like many were unreliable, or with Tide cleaners that my items would be lost or ruined! Atlas has been around forever, and a space that I've known about, but never used. I decided to go for it and drop my duvet off Monday morning. The woman that was working was super friendly and very informative, she made the process straightforward and said that my duvet would be done by Friday and I would get a text message. Lo and behold my surprise when in that same day, just a few hours later, they messaged me saying it was ready for pick up! My duvet was the cleanest I've ever seen it, beautifully dry cleaned and was ready within eight hours! I will definitely be coming back here for any dry cleaning needs. read more

I totally forgot to update this review. I took my coat back, after Josh reached out to me over the phone. He was very kind and wanted to make the situation right, which I appreciate deeply. I spoke with the lady in charge when I arrived and she went to the extra mile to make sure my coat was cared for properly. The pocket is now fixed AND the spot from a mask looks 100x better. Atlas has won me over with this fix. In fact, I'm in a bit of a fashion emergency and this is where I'll be headed in the morning. After reading such positive reviews, I decided to bring my beloved Calvin wool pea coat into Atlas to get it cleaned and a small tear in my pocket repaired. I did have a spot where my sister got a peel off mask on the arm that needed to be cleaned. My coat was at the store for two weeks. It looked great in the bag so I put it in my car and went to work. Today, I took it out of the bag. The texture of the coat feels rough and not at all how it was before. The spot where the mask was looks awful, even though I didn't expect it to completely come out, I'm still disappointed. To top that off, my pocket is not fixed. I called about the issue and the representative short and borderline rude. So now I have to drive an hour AGAIN to get this resolved, though I'm not sure how. Atlas is my favorite dry cleaners in the Northern Kentucky area. The past 3 years I have taken my winter coat to them to get machine washed and they make it look like new every year. I don't know how they do such a great job- it's a tan coat that shows dirt pretty easily. If not for taking it here I probably would have had to buy a new coat a few seasons ago. This past visit I also took a dress and suit to be dry cleaned and they came back looking impeccable. They only accept cash or check so keep this in mind! read more

He told me then that it was the best in town. 25 years later, I now live down the street from them and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Located in a vintage building, this cleaner is within walking distance of Newport on the Levee. The staff is always friendly and personable and the prices are reasonable. Plus, there's free parking in a lot adjacent to the building and on the street directly in front. We take all our dry cleaning there and are always pleased. I took in a suede jacket and instead of just taking it and charging me a huge amount, they explained that they send suede out for cleaning and there is a 50% deposit necessary. They also do alterations. Normally they need a week turn around time, but I was in a bind to get some pants hemmed before my son took a trip and I was able to get them back within two days. The only drawback: they don't accept debit or credit cards, so take cash or a check. I did just find out, however, they will bill you on a monthly basis, so now I'm really happy! read more

Atlas is an amazing dry cleaner. The women who work here are the nicest and most helpful women when you come in. If you're needing something next day, they will gladly help you out and make sure whatever you need to be done, gets done. They have good prices. I think their best prices are for if you're getting shirts done. I've gotten two done for around $5. However, I got two dresses done this week and they were $22 total. That kind of took me back, but I'll pay for my clothes to look great. Which my clothes always do look great. I use to take my boyfriends white button up server shirts in here covered with ketchup and syrup...other questionable food stains. They always got them out and made his shirts look amazing. I guess the only downside to Atlas is that they only except cash, which isn't a big deal after you get use to coming in here. But the first couple time I forgot and always had to run to the bank to get cash. So, don't forget to bring cash! read more

Have been a happy client since 2013. CASH or CHECK only, no credit cards! Very good service, efficient and affordable. Free 10 min parking right in front. Very close to where I live. I hate ironing, so this is a no brainer for me to drop my work shirts and pick them crisp and clean. On some occasions the shirts came back with starch spots or needed a second run (granted free). Nothing terrible and would not stop me from getting back, but the reason I took one star away. Now they introduced a very small bar code label system, which is a great update from the past big fat labels ironed on shirts. They also offer a Black Bag service, you just put your clothes in a bag tagged with your name, drop it in a basket and you don't need to wait in line to leave your clothes with receipt anymore. Time saver! I like their funny quotes above the door. The Staff is always smiled and helpful. Will definitely remain a loyal customer. read more

Just used this company for the first time to get my comforter cleaned. Unfortunately I will not be going back! Instead of making it cleaner I found 4 or 5 new large chemical stains on it! On top of that they lost/threw away the nice compact bag I brought it to them in. I would ask for a refund and a new comforter but I doubt that would happen. I wish I would have found Atlas Dry Cleaners a long time ago. They put all others to shame that I have patronized since moving to Northern Kentucky in mid-2013. They have the broadest service offering in terms of repairs and alterations, in addition to your typical dry cleaning. That's perfect for a person that doesn't like to shop hop to get various things done. In addition to the full range of services, they do things quickly. They appear to perform all their services onsite and can (if need be) turn things around in a matter of hours if pressed to do so. I'm not exactly sure why, but I love to know that my clothes aren't being ushered around the city, and that the folks I'm handing my money to when I check out handled my order "soup-to-nuts". The only downfall, if there is one, is that they only accept cash or check. That isn't a big issue for me, but I could totally see the day in the future where I forget to take enough cash, and I never carry a check with me. So far so good, however. I really like this place. Okay, this review is difficult to write because the staff at Atlas is extremely friendly and great with customer service. Unfortunately, I didn't have a good experience, in fact, it was bad. They shrunk my clothes at least a dress size of not more. I had just purchased a beautiful new Eliza J red ball gown skirt for a wedding last week, wore it and took the skirt and Mischka top (over $450) for a cleaning based on reviews. I wanted to wear them for another wedding this weekend. When I dropped it off the staff informed me it would be a week before I could pick up because I opted to have the seamstress repair the hem my heel had caught at the bottom of the skirt. The day it was to be picked up I called and was informed it wasn't ready but would be soon. I could tell when I picked up the skirt the "repair" was just done and probably quickly. It was very shabby and loose. But with a flight the next morning what could I do? The following day I took the skirt off of the hanger only to find 2 large safety pins piercing the top of the skirt holding it to the hanger. Excuse me? This is unacceptable. Now I have little holes in my satin skirt! The worst part is that they shrunk my clothes! Literally, my ball gown skirt that sat just below my navel as it billowed at the bottom now sits 2 inches above my naval and is squeezing my stomach! I didn't gain any weight in a week and certainly didn't grow two inches. I was very uncomfortable wearing it at the wedding because Atlas dry cleaners shrunk it! Additionally, the blacktop that is designed to kind of expose your collarbone and sit around your shoulders wouldn't fall over my shoulders! It also had shrunk. It changed the whole look of my outfit! I haven't tried on the two jackets they washed but let's hope they aren't shrunken as well. I had really high hopes for this company based on Yelp and even drove 25 mins each way to have them handle these special items but the lack of respect for the stitching and handling of safety pins paired with shrinking my clothes is enough for me to write this review. The staff is extremely nice and if I was writing based interacting with them I would give a 5 star. But I am very disappointed in what happened to my Clothes. read more

It is cash only, but if you can muster up a few paper duckets for Eli's BBQ you can do the same for Atlas. My previous review still rings 1,000% true. I just wanted to update on the level of customer service provided here. I came in at the last minute on Saturday before leaving for a business trip on Sunday. I had been a dummy and worn my favorite jacket to a smoke filled bar on Saturday and it smelled so bad I was getting a migraine from just walking around in it. Anyway -- I took it in and the original lady taking care of me was unsure if they could make the turn around that fast, the owner saw how sad I was and came and wrote the ticket himself saying something like this young lady has a businesses trip to go on and we are gonna make sure she gets here clothes! I literally almost started crying. I came back the next day and it was ready to go. They treat you like family here and for the owner to actually be in the store on site is something rare. I highly recommend Atlas for all your cleaning needs! And anyone that lives downtown it is worth the trip across the river, tell your friends! read more

A couple of things to keep in mind when using Atlas: 1. If your coming from Cincinnati don't listen to crazy Google Maps, which will firstly tell you to turn into an alley and then as an alternate, tell you to turn the wrong way down a one way. Eeeeek. 2. Parking meters in the front. For 10 free minutes of parking just press the button...no need to enter money. 3. Cash or check only business. Not a fan of this, hence the -1 star, but I guess I can suck it up. 4. My clothes were supper clean!! They do a great job here even on my sweat stained and stinky clothes. read more

After many unsuccessful attempts at settling down with a dry cleaner in the Northern Kentucky area, I was finally suggested to try Atlas. Come to find out my extended family has been going there for decades and the employees now know me by name. Needless to say our relationship was going great. But then one day I pulled from the closet the suit I wore to my wedding and found there was a small tear on the cuff of the sleeve. I had not worn my suit since it had last been to Atlas after my wedding, a year prior. The tear was also very close to where they had previously spot treated the jacket for some cake that had been smeared during the ceremonial bride/groom "cake smashing". I took my suit in to Atlas to see what they could do. The employees understood my concerns and reasoning and told me they would give it to the owner who would call me personally with a decision. About two days later I received the call. The owner said it looked like a Moth had chewed it, as opposed to a spot cleaning accident. But never the less he would send it to Chicago to a special garment thread weaver to get it fixed. We agreed to split the cost since no clear fault could be assigned. The process of thread weaving apparently takes months to do, due to the high demand and low number of people in the art of intertwining already threaded garments. I was okay with this time frame, as long as my wedding suit was proper again. After about two months I received a call from Atlas, my suit is ready and pressed. Believe me when I say you can hardly notice there was previously a tear on the sleeve. And the "icing on the cake" of the whole situation, Atlas covered the full charge of the thread weaving. Their kindness and professionalism speaks volumes for how small businesses should be run. As long as I live in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area, Atlas Cleaners will have my business. read more

Generally a friendly staff. Their prices are high, they only take cash, business hours are limited compared to other cleaners. I used them twice. The first time I noticed my clothes didn't smell clean so when I picked up my clothes the second time I mentioned it to them as my clothes didn't smell clean again. I was told cleaners don't remove odor! Well, needless to say I will go somewhere else when I'm in town that will take a debit card, I'll pay less and my clothes will smell like I paid to have them cleaned. read more

But I did because as a young man with very few nice clothes, they made me look good - without breaking my budget. Since then I've moved in and out and back to CINCINNATI 5 times. Every time trying Drycleaners in a variety of cities. No comparison! Atlas always stores my winter wear. They've fixed every missing button and torn stitch. They get OUT impossible stains. They are friendly, fast and great at getting tough spots out and buttons sewn back on. They can even rush your cleaning when needed (24 hours), no additional charge. I trust them with my designer clothing (Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Gucci & More). Not showing off but showing that the service I received as a customer on my clothing was outstanding. It's very hard to trust people with shirts that cost over $300. Their spot lady is the best. Lipstick stains and other random things have been removed. This is worth whatever drive you have to make. The owners son is approachable and the women who work their are beautiful inside and out. Before I forget. 3 pairs of pants and a polo shirt with spot cleaning was under $20. First time using Atlas, in reality, first time dry cleaning anything in years. I had recently taken a business trip and I needed two blazers that I wore dry cleaned. I used Yelp! to find a recommendation near me. Atlas was the highest ranked cleaner near me so I went for it. Dropped off the blazers on a Saturday morning, was told they would be ready by Wednesday after 2 pm. I didn't pick them up until the the following week due to schedule conflict, just couldn't get there... Anyway, paid $5.60 per blazer, which I thought reasonable. I am more likely to dry clean other items now that I know how easy it is, and the location is great for me, as long as I get down to Newport in an off-time. I could foresee parking being an issue during busy times and/or high Newport traffic. Also, important to note that they only accept cash or checks, no credit cards. read more

Yet somehow the previous place I took my dry cleaning to managed to ruin a couple of things. DAMAGED EVERY ITEM I LEFT WITH THEM!! I was expecting quality service based on the reviews listed here. Instead, I am now replacing the majority of of dress clothes. Every item I left with them came back horribly damaged. One shirt came with with a tear on the side, one came back with a coffee stain (!!) that I know for a fact wasn't there before, and then my suit was clearly pressed at way too hot of a temperature as it's now rippled/pursed in the lapel. To make it worse, they stuck barcodes on the inside of every item that are virtually impossible to remove.....If you ever want to wear a clothing item again, I highly recommend going somewhere else. Very disappointed and shocked that they didn't even address then when I went to pick up. All I heard from them was a little tag appended to one of my shirts basically saying "Oops--that's on us" but it wasn't!! Because I still paid for it all! read more

Atlas cleaners always kills it. I'm not really sure if there is a less expensive option around, but once we started going to Atlas about a year ago, we really haven't looked for any place else. They are really quick to grab your order when you drop off, they give you a ticket, have friendly service, and the pick up is just as quick. Atlas seems to be stable in the Newport community as well. I've never not been here when it is not busy. That said, they still get you in and out very quickly. How is the cleaning service? Our garments I've always been clean when we pick them up. This time around, I dropped off a jacket and a shirt, this will be my first time dropping off a jacket... So I guess we will see how that goes. All in all I am confident in saying we will be Atlas cleaners regulars. read more
