When I sold my house, Sentry insisted that I pay the remaining balance on a 5-year monitoring contract. What other utility makes you do this when you sell your house and move out of the area? Ridiculous! When I first contacted Sentry about cancelling the contract, I was told the the new owners could take-over the contract if they wanted. I discussed this with the new owners and they agreed to do it. However, when they contracted Sentry, they were told that taking over the existing contract wasn't possible. I tried several times by email and phone to contact the Sentry agent who told me that the contract could be transferred, but she never replied to me or answered my calls. Be careful about signing a contract with Sentry. You will be locked in with no way out.

Scott Vosburg, the previous owner of Wilsonville Security had been acquired by Sentry Alarms in Oregon. I was promised by Scott that this transition would not be an issue. The transition has been nothing but unorganized and chaotic. He is disorganized, unprofessional, and discourteous. Scott and his crew installed the security system and cameras in October 2023. They were out multiple times and never had the correct parts to complete the installation. After three months of failed installations, I am left with a nonfunctioning security system and cameras. After multiple attempts to resolve this issue, Scott will not contact me back to complete the job. I have contacted the Sentry Alarms, elevated it up the chain of command, and stil had l no resolution. I have paid thousands of dollars and they have not rendered the appropriate service. After reaching out to the CEO, they came out and removed the cameras and left holes and defects all over the inside and outside of my home. Please save yourself the time, money, and peace of mind and do not trust this Scott Vosburg or Sentry Alarms.

I was happy to find them still in business. We had a need to install two new Ethernet lines and ports to a few rooms in our home due to multiple family members now working from home. They gave me a detailed cost per hour, we set a date within a week or so and they were very punctual. The team arrived as promised, they were very professional, even removed their shoes as they worked inside our home. In my opinion you have two choices in this industry - big company like Comcast, or a local company like OmniGuard. I picked and am staying with OmniGuard for three reasons: 1. The primary alarm monitoring system, through Alarm.com is bulletproof. We've had some alarms go off when we weren't in town. The police showed up. If there is urgent issues, they are on the phone with you immediately. 2. The service side - OmniGuard is local and will fix your issues. They are small, and sometimes they can drop the ball, but they always make it right. When you call they are respectful and helpful. 3. Price points remain stable - they don't jack you around after a year. The value remains.

Only 2 runs so far, going to a network closet, but we will likely be adding more at some point. They were able to put the jacks exactly where we wanted, and used a professional faceplate for where the runs terminated in the network closet, as opposed to something open in the wall. They also cleaned up a bunch of non-functional cable from outside the house. Super patient and nice people, and Stephen gave us a lot of options for the install, even though it ended up just being the 2 runs.
