He told me that I called him 4x that day in regard to my 86 yr old -Mom's Flower arrangement! I did do that, I made sure not to disturb them on Mother's Day because I know they would be extremely busy! Bernard-the owner has the very finest flowers on Staten Island, however, Irving, perhaps who was having a bad day acted extremely unprofessional! He informed me that he was going back to my Mom's house to redeliver the flowers to the given address! This made my Mom extremely pensive, understandably! I said, "She doesn't have them! " which he said he no longer wanted my business! I came to Staten Island 20 years ago and have sent several arrangements from the Hylan blvd store as well! My sympathy goes out to BERNARD -because he has no way of knowing how people are being treated by Irving! Please be advised that the flowers are Splendid and the arrangements are some of the finest I have ever witnessed but the attitude of Irving is appalling! I have not had any success in contacting in reaching anyone so I'm going forward with my review. I ordered flowers for my mother in law for Mother's Day. When I received a picture of the flowers she received compared to the arrangement I ordered, I was mortified. I ordered from the website and they DID have a disclosure saying "due to pandemic SOME flowers MAY be substituted." I paid for the premium arrangement to ensure they came out as close to the picture online. I'm from California and decided to search a local florist to support in this time of need instead of using one of the big name flower delivery services. I understand times are hard, but the disclosure should say "you get what you get" it was a completely different arrangement all together. Very disappointing and in a little embarrassed what arrived at my mother in laws. They should not offer "Premium" option and allow consumers to pay extra for what is a very basic arrangement. I found Boquet of Love florist and gave them a call thinking it was too late to get a lovely flower arrangement to the funeral home in time. However, I explained the situation over the phone, he gave me my options (which I was glad there were options), and in less than 30 minutes, for a very fair price, a beautiful and large arrangement of flowers found its way to the funeral home for the service/viewing (see pic). They actually received many compliments about their beauty as noted to me by my sister who was there. All I can say is that was an outstanding effort and the best florist experience I have ever had. I saw the door was opened to the back room, so that's where they were. This truly ruined my night because I needed a card & balloons for my mothers birthday and it caused me to be LATE to her party because I had to make a U-turn and take the trip up the road to Dollar Tree. I had planned my entire night around stopping at Thriftway on the corner of Amboy rd & Page Ave before going to my mothers house for her birthday party. And since they close at 7:00 I got there right before. This was a huge inconvenience and just for that I won't be back. When you have no respect for your customers, I have no respect for your business. Dollar Tree was a lot cheaper anyway , the card was 50 cents and the mylar balloons were only $1.25 each. Done with Thriftway and their selfish staff members. No other business would have let this happen. Totally done and still mad over this.
