As one of the few spots in Lakeland to get a poke bowl, Ato really holds down the fork (it was funny just admit it). They are located in the Joinery amidst a couple other good food options, but most of the time I just end up coming back to good ole Ato. The poke bowls are just really, really good. It's always really fresh ingredients and it's fun to even get gyoza or crab rangoons sometimes as an extra treat. Not only can you get poke bowls, but you can spice it up a little and get a sushi burrito. Yes, it is pretty much a sushi roll that hasn't been cut up yet, but it's still pretty darn good. If you are at all a sushi/ poke fan, Ato is a valid choice for downtown eats!

Well we rolled in 30 deep on a charter bus full of collegiate athletes that just finished a game and Ato took amazing care of my team. They were kind, attentive and the service was quick considering. Never a moment of panic when their line was long and they worked with us to break up the payment to make it easier on them. The poke bowls were very big and my ladies were beyond excited and happy with the taste and quality of the food. I appreciate that so much and made the bus ride home great!! Thank you Ato for one of our best post game meals yet!! The joinery overall is a really neat spot, even found some of our parents hanging out after the game. The outside is very inviting and a lot of people out enjoying the less humid weather of the evening. I highly recommend Ato for small groups or even giant ones like ours.

I got the soft shell crab, & Kraken Sushi Burrito, w/ Spicy tuna & shrimp tempura. I come here at least once a week and this place is my go to!

One of the best Poke bowls I've had in a long time. Will be back next time I'm in Florida.

So ATO is one of a few restaurants within the Location known as The Joinery. This review is for The ATO only not The Joinery overall. I have been coming to the Joinery since it opened several years ago. Since I love all things sushi and Asian food I fell in love with this restaurant. They had a sushi burrito called the Godzilla which I wish I had a picture of. They were amazing and had a significant amount of raw chunks of tuna and a sauce that I couldn't get enough of. It was huge. So today having come to Lakeland for work I decided to stop here again for the beloved Sushi Burrito Godzilla. So when I received my burrito I pointed out to my wife that it looked much smaller than in times past. Once I bite into it I realized there were no chunks of tuna but a ground up version and not really much of that. For a burrito costing north of $16 it really was a disappointment. I did speak with the manager about my disappointment with it but he told me that this was the way it's always been made. Since I have had this dish several times over the years I truly was disappointed with this response. I feel like a better description would be a sushi roll not a Burrito. I guess next time I visit The Joinery I will eat somewhere else.

Located in The Joinery Food Hall in Downtown Lakeland. You have your fresh sushi burrito and poké bowl options, as you can choose from a curated menu or create your own masterpiece from a selection of quality ingredients. Ordered a poké bowl with white rice, ahi tuna, salmon, spicy mayo, cucumbers, roasted corn, cream cheese, avocado, cilantro, scallions, and masago. Everything tasted fresh and had great flavor as well. Online ordering and catering available. Friendly service. We really enjoyed it.

It's a just okay poke bowl situation. A lot more expensive than most places I have personally been to for a poke bowl. Hey that's the power of the branding. Being that this was one of the only "cold" food options at The Joinery on a 98 degree Florida day, I almost felt stuck with it. My Florida Bowl had a great amount of avocado and a decent serving of. Serving of fish. The rice had a lot of vinegar in it, which I do like, but if you prefer a more traditional sushi rice (less sweet) than you might be better getting the bowl on greens. The young man working was not rude but couldn't have cared less that I existed.

Calling their sushi rolls sushi burritos and charging $12.50 for them is a bit of a scam here. The item I was served was most certainly not a sushi burrito. The poke bowls look like a much more reasonable portion for the price. The service here was pretty mediocre. If I came back to the joinery I'd definitely go for ramen or pizza over Āto because the quality, portions, and service at the other spots just far exceed this one. Could use a more flavorful sauce offering to add, especially if they're calling this a sushi burrito.

Now time to break down the review. Food- The food is really good, we start off with our drinks, we usually order water and it's always ice cold and very hydrating. After ordering food, they serve the fried crab meat with some dipping sauce. It makes a fantastic appetizer, the crab is lightly fried and the sauce brings some sort of sweet flavor. I usually order the clear soup and green salad. The clear soup is very light and brings a refreshing taste each sip. The mushrooms and green onion is very tender to eat. The green salad comes with the Japanese salad dressing that has a very rich ginger flavor and makes the salad kind of tangy. Now our entrees. I usually order the hibachi chicken and my fiancé orders a different sushi roll. The hibachi chicken is good, although I cannot say it is the best, sometimes the chicken tastes a little bland or a little over cooked. Don't get me wrong, the food is great as I can just mask the flavor with a lot of yum yum sauce located on the table. Each table has a giant bottle of yum yum sauce. The yum yum sauce is light but savory, very creamy! The hibachi meal comes with veggies, rice and noodles! The veggies are cooked to the point of a tenderness that allows the teriyaki sauce to marinate in, the rice and noodles are made to perfection. Very savory and with the teriyaki sauce. The fiancé grabbed the tiger roll last visit and was in love! Most of the time he is satisfied with the sushi rolls. Service- we are seated really fast about 9/10 times unless it's a busy night. They are very fast and efficient with our orders and never fail. Although there are days where they kind of forget to check in on us but we understand that it can get busy. When it comes to refills, they always notice and quickly refill. Ambiance- the restaurant setting is beautiful, Led lights that are soft to the eyes, decorations fill the restaurant with good vibes. Everything makes sense when you walk into the restaurant, you know where you are. The music you can hear but not too loud, you can have conversations with family and friends, even those who speak quietly. Very clean restaurant, they are quick after someone leaves to clean up the table for the next set of customers. Overall, our dining experiences were fantastic, very affordable hibachi and sushi. It may not be Kobe's Steakhouse but it is close to home and does not destroy the wallet. We shall be back! Thank you for our lovely experience

Second time here and let me tell you, Sushi Masa delivers!…read more First, the ambience is very kitschy in a good way. There's Kimonos for you to try on, they showcase their ramune selection. Menu is very Japanese while connecting to its American audience. The vibe has elements of Japanese culture tied into the decor and design, but music was all American top 40 (I did hear a couple of country hits too so they appeal to all of Polk County). Service both times was absolutely excellent. The servers and runners are beyond busy, but both times servers asked multiple times (it seemed as much as possible) for extra orders etc. my drink was refilled before it was finished. Plates taken away very quickly. Well oiled machine. Good times I think vary between types/categories of food, so just be patient. You might get a roll before an appetizer for AYCE, but that's ok with me. Never complaining with sushi coming out fast and fresh. Now the food. Both times I've gone for the AYCE option. It's totally worth it if you like to get a lot of different types of things or multiple rolls. My mom is NOT a sushi person and she said she loves this place. Just to give you an idea of how good the food is. She will only eat the cooked sushi. Her favorite roll so far is the Yummy Roll. Very tasty in my book too. She got the Little Tokyo Roll, but said it was bland compared to the Yummy Roll. Guess the Yummy Roll was just too Yummy LOL! Age Tofu is definitely a more Americanized version. I like the traditional style so I was not into this one as much. Top appetizer is hands down the Takoyaki. Again, this is elderly approved as my mom loved this appetizer. She also liked the dumplings and Kani salad. The fried rice was like hibachi style, so if you like that kind of rice then you'll enjoy this one. I also enjoyed the double crunchy roll. Sashimi was great and very fresh. They bring it out on ice too, so if you are protein aware/carb conscious, you can fill up on just the sashimi. Ice cream is what we had for dessert. Green Tea is the standard matcha ice cream. Very delicious. The strawberry flavor was also very good; I could feel the little seeds/strawberry bits. Overall, this is probably the best sushi place I've tried so far in Lakeland. I would go even just to have a roll. Obviously AYCE is fun, but having the option to just à la carte is nice. I HIGHLY recommend trying this place out if you haven't, especially if you like sushi.

We never felt like we were waiting long between orders, which made the entire dining experience even better. It's refreshing to find a place that delivers both quality food and outstanding service. We'll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great all-you-can-eat sushi experience!

We were seated within 2 minutes of arriving despite having a full table and the place was spotless. The tables were clean, the floor was clean, and despite its small location it didn't feel cramped. The only complaint I have about the place itself was the other guests were obnoxiously loud and nothing was done about it. Not talking wise but I mean watching videos on their phones loud. The food however was a hit and a miss. My group and I shared our dishes so we could try multiple things. While the plating was beautiful and clean the menu was sparse on information and relied heavily on you knowing what these dishes were beforehand or asking questions. The hibachi was wonderful, very flavorful and well cooked and arrived within minutes. The soup and salad was fresh and probably the best part of the entire meal. The sushi however, which is what this place is known for according to those we asked beforehand, was the worst part of the meal. The second worst sushi I've ever had actually (the worst being Publix). The fish was soggy and flavorless, to the point it was literally sliding off the rice and many of us just abandoned it altogether. Usually I can tell what type of fish I'm eating from one bite. I could not with Fancy Q. ETA: I forgot to mention the sushi also took a very long time to arrive. Over 30 minutes. Overall I feel the best parts were the service and soup/salad. I am uncertain if I would go back. Perhaps with a large group again but not on my own. I would be willing to try different locations.
