Maybe I'm just easily impressed...this is the second five star review I have given out since moving to the Tri-Cities. Had dinner at this place on Wednesday night, my wife and I, and our 2 girls. Smaller place than I expected. I am more used to the Brewpub we used to go to when we lived in Kitsap. Silver City was big, bright, and shiny. This place was much smaller, darker, and homey feeling. It is a Brew Pub, so I guess beer is a good place to start. Between my wife and I, we had three different beers...the Atomic Amber, the Plutonium Porter, and the Depleted Uranium Olde Ale. My favorite was the Olde Ale...almost like a Scotch Ale...all three beers were smooth, and I could drink a lot of them given the chance. For an appetizer, we ordered the Brat Bites...and while good, it's probably the only thing we had that did not overwhelm me. Little cut up brats and apples simmered in beer, with a nice hearty mustard. The soup was just as good as everyone else said. My wife had the potato soup, I had the Chicken Terriyaki and Rice. The potato soup was like the ultimate in hearty, cold weather soup...easily the equal of any chowder I had ever had. The Chicken Teriyaki and rice kicked butt....nice pieces of chicken and rice, in a broth that tasted like teriyaki sauce without being too salty. For main courses...older daughter had the cheese pizza, younger one had the cheese quesadilla. The pizza sauce was outstanding.... with that pizza sauce, and the Apollo's pizza dough, I could rule the world. My wife had the Roast Beef Sandwich....and it was perfect. Nice roast beef, swiss cheese, mayo, lettuce and perfect ripe roma tomatoes. I ordered there Jerked Pork...jerked pork, covered in provolone cheese and bacon bits, served on a bed of cabbage. It was SOOOOOOOO good. The only thing that would have made it better is if it had been made with chicken instead of pork...the pork was good, and it was moist...but chicken might have been a little bit more tender than the pork was. read more

The only thing I like at Atomic Ale is the potato soup. Wow, is it good! Go for that and the black berry (?) cobbler if they still have it. Other than that, its just average food. read more

Atomic Ale Brewery is the Tri Cities first brewpub. After the conclusion of WWII, the woman's barracks was torn down and an A&W Drive-In was built. In 1997 the building was remodled and became an operational Micro-Brewery and Eatery...... Brick wall ambience with historical photos and Manhattan Project artifacts are mounted on the walls. There are approxiamately (20) tables inside and a few tables outside on Lee Blvd. Very good wood-fired pizza's are their speciality. Many good "homemade" Micro-Brews are served. We recommend two pizza's. The Shrimp Pesto pizza with its delicious Pesto sauce, melted Mozzaarella cheese, fresh spinach, roasted shrimp and sun dried tomatoes..... The Carribean Jerk Pizza with marinara sauce seasoned with delicious jerk spices, melted Mozzarella cheese, delicious rosted pepperoni, chicken, mushrooms and scallions .... it is a fun place read more

Went in tonight with my fiance for dinner a little before 7pm. Elijah was our server. We ordered a pizza (add nuclear butter), an 8oz soup, a sandwich, and some beers. When our order finally came out, Elijah forgot the soup size and just gave us the 5oz, and failed to tell the kitchen to add nuke butter to the pizza. He sent us another 5oz soup, and a side of the butter (so far, no biggie, we've both worked food service before and understand a Friday night rush). Food was fine, but couldn't finish it all so we asked for a box and the check. Elijah came back out a while later with the check but, go figure, forgot the box. We then sat there for 35 minutes just waiting for him to come back with a box and to take the card, when we realized we'd been there for over an hour and a half, and my fiance needed to be somewhere shortly. We left, with the intention to come back once I'd dropped her off, and when I returned to pay my bill, Elijah told me, quote, "Thanks for coming back, makes me feel bad about all the shit I talked." No apologies, no "sorry it took so long", nothing. Absolutely unacceptable. We were hesitant to even go because my fiance worked there several years ago, and knows the service is absolute trash. Decent beer, okay food. I don't think it's great, but it wasn't bad either. The pizzas we ordered were tasty, but typical. The beer was good, but not anything I would miss. Prices were reasonable, and the wait staff was cool. read more

Wow, what a good pizza! Beers were good but the Reactor Core pizza was the "bomb"! Pun intended!

Boyfriend loved the beers! We got the atomic pretzel, potato soup and sat and played games. I love this place and would come here more often if I lived close. Great staff family friendly only tried the ipa but there beer is great so far looking forward to coming back.

The pizza was decent, the beer was warm, the service was dismal.

I've never had a bad pizza here. but for the record, I like thin crust pizza, if you like the thick/foamy/gnaw on it a while crust, it would be best to go elsewhere. I'm a carnivore at heart but even their portabella mushroom pizza was wonderful. I've tried most of their beers and enjoyed all of them, but my favorite is still the plutonium porter. Try their pretzels, they are wonderful. The ones with the pesto dip and the ones with the hot sauce on top/ bule cheese dip are both great. read more

Meh. I really want to love this place. I love the idea of this place. But having been in 4 times now since moving to town, I'm chronically disappointed. First the good: The atmosphere is fine. I like the whimsical atomic theme -- it's fun and not overdone. The servers are nice if a little harried. The board games are fun, especially for kids. Local Beer + Whimsy + Pizza + Variety on the menu should all be good things. But... Now the bad: The beer ranges from ick (Pumpkin ale tastes like cough syrup) to meh (Columbia IPA is not so good, and I love most IPA's) to decent (Atomic Amber). The pizza's disappointing -- sometimes charred, sometimes underdone, always breadier and less flavorful than your typical wood fired place. The salads are pretty pathetic. I think there are two things at play here: 1) This place has no competition in the Tri-cities yet. If another family friendly craft brewery and pizza place opened in Richland, the game would change. In the meantime, we'll probably keep coming back here occasionally to look for the silver lining. 2) The prices are too high. Shall we call them aspirationally priced? They're charging for what they aspire to deliver (great wood fired pizza and delicious local beer in a friendly setting) instead of what they deliver (mediocre food and beer in a place that's kind of understaffed.) If their prices come down to reflect their quality, I'll change my review. If their quality goes up to reflect their prices, I'll change my review. As it stands.... meh. The pizza is incredible and my wife LOVES their red potato soup (made with their own beer!). Small dining room, so you might have to wait for a seat, but it is worth the wait! Oh, we are frequent customers and have NEVER in over 10 years, had any poor food. Anyone complaining needs to stick to Mickey Ds - that's a better choice for whiners. read more

Called ahead with a vegetarian in our group, they actually had Tuesday night vegetarian night. All of our dishes were excellent. I only went here to drink the beer. I had a sampler and my oh my I do like what they are putting out. The atomic Amber is a great session beer and I liked the IPA that was seasonal. The whole place had a great vibe and great customer service. read more

On the smaller side and super friendly. Pizza was good. Had the Transmutation pumpkin Ale and it was awesome.

Unique pizza with a delicious crust. Thin and crispy. Good ingredients. I love spicy food and am a big fan of the spicy butter that serves as the sauce on some of the pizzas. There is a nice local feel blended with some history and fun here. The service is fair, but overall a very good place. read more

All I can say is bland. Food and beer. I want to like it. Warm feel inside. Tried it over the years and just same as always.

Good but loud. Beer samplers are a good way to experience their wares. I particularly like Plutonium Porter and any of the gourmet pizzas.

Good food and great craft beer. The kids had a pepperoni pizza and loved it. I had the grinder and it was just right.

I'm a regular diner at Atomic. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff is usually friendly. Parking is really limited, so I like to try to eat during the "off hours". Meals are made from fresh ingredients. This is a "gourmet" pizza establishment. The crusts are hand-tossed, so they don't have the same consistency every time, but they're tasty! I like the selection of pastas and sandwiches, although they do not make up a large portion of the menu. Overall, a great place to eat that's family friendly. read more

Decent little brew pub in Richland with a nuclear-themed menu, I love a place with a sense of humor. Our server was really friendly and the beer they brew was good. Lots of different choices for pizza, we had Thai Peanut Sauce chicken with peppers, it was pretty good. Their potato soup is really addictive, order a big bowl. Salad was good but the dressing was a little sweet for me. Nice atmosphere inside or you can sit outdoors. We'll be back for sure, I want to try some more of their unorthodox pizzas and enjoy their beer again. read more

I like atomic ale. It's good for small groups. The beer is tasty, and so is the pizza. Is it the best restaurant on earth? No. But the staff are all nice, and they will customize the pizzas for you if you want to substitute an ingredient. The seasonal beers are fun and so is the beer sampler. Before you go there- Ask yourself: Do you want a consumable item besides "microbrew" beer and "gourmet" pizza? If so, probably better to go somewhere else that has whatever thing you want. If not, go to atomic ale. It's pretty good. read more
