I've come to atomic for a couple of my piercings since moving to Milwaukee. Every experience I've had had been great! The staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel right at home. Here's where the love affair with this place starts. My teenage angst many moons ago landed me with an awful and embarrassing tattoo that I've hated since the week I for whatever reason decided it was a good idea to get it. I stopped by to get a white tattoo and the artists advised me against it. Very knowledgeable about the long term result which swayed my decision to get it. I decided to ask if they did cover ups and showed them my "masterpiece." Armando is amazing. He took on the project and had me very involved in designing the new piece. The first picture he drew me I hated. I was nervous to tell him but he remained pleasant and kept the process going. I sent him a couple pictures showing the style I was going for and the same day he drew me the perfect tattoo. The day of my appointment I had to move the appointment to an hour later and he accommodated me with no problem. During the tattoo process he was polite, professional, an kept me feeling as comfortable as someone can be while needles are jabbing into you. I am absolute in love with the end result. You can't even tell its a coverup! The lines are clean, the shading is amazing, and the placement is as close to perfect as you can get while covering another poorly placed tattoo. I.am.in.love. Yesterday I went in to get my daughter her first tattoo on her birthday Valentine's Day and hers was perfect and then this guy did mine and it did not turn out right. He did not even seem to care. What do I do? So Frustrated. read more

I would never go back here. The staff was so rude. They acted like it was a chore to help me with the tattoo. Felt like he just wanted to "get it over with." Super unprofessional. Then I got my tattoo done and it looks different than how he showed me it was going to look. He messed it up. The words are curved oddly and the words are not smoothly written. I recently went into this tattoo shop getting four simple hearts vertically down my arm with my sisters as a sibling tattoo, seems pretty easy right? So we thought.. until we sat down to get our tattoos WHICH WE EXPLAINED TO HER WHICH HEARTS TO FILL IN, so when I was done getting my tattoo my sister was next and she filled the wrong heart in and at that moment you can't really do anything which was understandable but that could've avoidable if she would've listened to our request. Once we told her about it she DIDN'T APOLOGIZE and she had a very nonchalant attitude that we were not happy about. We were still expected to pay full price $100 for four small hearts, which we felt like was very overpriced. We came in the next day with our father who approached her very professionally and she had a VERY nasty attitude with us that we didn't appreciate. May I also add, I went to this location before and I have gotten a tattoo by Nisha who was a complete angel! And very helpful! All in all, This experience will prevent me from ever going to this location again and I HIGHLY recommend you not to go to Bri.. you will be disappointed. read more

The girl Bri was very unprofessional and extremely rude. She ruined my matching tattoos I had planned with my sisters and stated she couldn't fix and didn't seem to care that she messed it up. When we came in the next day to speak to a manager about the situation she claimed she was the manager and continued to be extremely rude to us and even lied about the situation. Not only did she over charge us for the tattoo but she also colored it in too much and it's been a whole month and the tattoo is still not completely healed. Bri has horrible customer service and communication skills and should not be working with people at all! read more

I got my first tattoo here yesterday & I had the best first experience ever here from Kelly I totally recommend her. She was funny, outgoing and I could tell she was a great tattoo artist. Half of the time we were talking so it kind of made me forget about the pain from the needle Overall, the place was super artistic and clean. They also have customer parking right in the back of their building so I didn't have to park on the side of the street or anything! read more

There are 2 Atomic Tattoo shops in Milwaukee. One is on East North ave, and the other is on 47th and North. While I have had awesome work and great experiences at both locations, I prefer the 47th st. shop. These guys and gals are the best. The shop itself is roomy and super clean. It is decorated with eclectic items and pictures that seem to change every time I visit. It is an interesting well lit studio with a very relaxed, friendly vibe where artists support and respect each other. No drama here folks! The artists are very talented veterans of their art. The owner (Sam Bielinski) chooses very talented individuals to make his shops the very best they can be. I have been tattooed by most of the artists there and have yet to be disappointed. I would and will get a tattoo from anyone working at Atomic. Keep in mind that great tattoos are not cheap. If you are looking for cheap, go to the guy your cousin's ex girlfriend knows and get a face tattoo in the garage. What I have learned over 30 years of getting tattooed is this: What you are buying at Atomic is a tattoo or piercing that should look good forever. Listen to the tattooer, they probably can make your design better and colors bolder than you could ever expect. The artists are just that, artists. Its their job to make your tattoo epic. I got my first tattoo here on the last Friday the 13th. I was extremely excited because I got my nose pierced here and it was a great experience. Unfortunately, I am not able to say that for my first tattoo. on Friday the 13th I chose to have the arrow tattooed on the back of my leg above my ankle. I was waiting in line excited. An older man with a beard did my tattoo and only told me too wash it with antibacterial soap. (forgetting to mention to use some type of lotion). So being my first tattoo I was extremely careful about my tattoo after care. I read that I should use lotion so I bought aquaphor and have been using that and unscented lotion as well as antibacterial soap. I noticed as the scab was coming off the lines of the pointy part of the arrow are extremely crooked and looks blobbed on. Many friends have told me that my tattoo looks messed up and should go back. Concerned, I went back and an employee was of ABSOLUTE no help. He proceeded to give me attitude and told me "well it was a Friday the 13th tattoo what was it only $20?" I was in awe and replied well does that mean I am only pay for half ass effort and he just proceeded to ramble on. He gave me bullshit excuses and was of no help telling me I'm more than likely going to have to pay to get a tattoo they messed up fixed. I am disappointed in their service and will not be going back. I bet some of their employees are great but the man I talked to was extremely rude and had an attitude. read more

I came to Atomic Tattoo to get my nostril pierced. I have watched plenty of my friends get this similar piercing and I've talked to many people and it seems like a simple piercing. This might have just been me but I did not have a simple piercing. I walked into the shop and it was a lot bigger and nicer than I expected. I don't remember the name of the guy who did my piercing but he was making jokes and making me comfortable that way. He put the needle through my nose and then tried to exchange the needle for the jewelry and it wouldn't go through. He then proceeded to try and force the jewelry through my nose which didn't work. He also tried piercing through the inside of my nose to get it through. He finally decided to just get a new needle and pierce it again and he got the jewelry through. He didn't talk much afterwards probably because he could tell I was upset. He was very short while telling me how to take care of my piercing and didn't have any interest in making me comfortable anymore. I'm pleased with my piercing itself but my piercer and experience could have been far better. read more

My friends have gotten tattoos here before and have had good experiences. The tattoos are good quality and we have not had any bad experiences with them. However, the staff is not the most welcoming. They seemed annoyed at the fact that they had to actually do something. I had come with a few other friends and we waited in the sitting area while our friends got tattoos. While we were waiting it was very noticeable that the staff was talking badly about us. They would look over at all of us and say something and then start laughing. I would not recommend coming here if you do not have thick skin. read more

Worst costumer service I have ever recieved. I walked in just looking for an earring and no one greeted me at all. I was looking at the counter for 10 minuets waiting for assistance and no one offered and a guy was sitting doing nothing. I asked for help because I hadn't changed my earring in years, to make sure I was doing the right gauge, right earring etc. He acted like I was a complete idiot and still basically refused to help. Even after all that I was still very friendly and said to him, to have a good night and he gave me a thumbs up without even looking at me. I will never come back again. Also, he tried to sell me an earring that was missing a ball that I wouldn't have even been able to use. read more

march 2010 i got a piece done on my chest which i probably paid to much for looking back on it.now that its has had time to heal and adapt with my skin a year later half of the tattoo has fadded to make a big embarrasement.ive had other tatts done before so i do know how to care for them.wouldent go here unless u want a permanent mistake on your body. read more
