One side of the restaurant is a bar and there are tables up to 4 people lined up in two rows. Menu was simple. They focused more on the flavor and presentation. MADE TO ORDER CLAM CHOWDER local clams from Taylor Shellfish cooked in the shell with house cured bacon, cream, fumet, celery, onions, potatoes, and black pepper, served with warm focaccia $20 This was a different version of clam chowder but very tasty nonetheless. The clams were plentiful! I recommend this dish just don't expect a typical clam chowder. SCOTCH EGG soft poached organic egg, pork sausage, bread crumbs, ale mustard, sauerkraut, pickled red onions $10 My English husband approve of this! He said it's as close as it gets to an authentic Scotch Egg. The seasoning was spot on! Another dish I recommend. SQUID KARAAGE - tubes and tentacles, rice and potato flour, Moon Dance Farm's shishito peppers, soy maple gastrique, boquerons, squid ink aioli $13 Another hit at our table! Nicely seasoned and crunchy! Don't let the squid ink aioli turn you off. It's quite tasty and it doesn't have the squid ink taste (which it's not supposed to have a taste if it's fresh) I highly recommend this place. Best food in anacortes. This is amazing food. I've been 5 times in the past 10 years and have always been blown away. I never have a reservation and am usually turned away because I call on short notice. Get a reservation if you can. What is good? EVERYTHING here is good. Bison burger. Ribs. Salads. French onion soup. The fries. The wine and beer are excellent. Terrific smart knowledgeable service. This is a very special place and I'm glad it survived covid. I swung into the A'Town a few months back on my way to Orcas Island. I found myself hungry, with some time to kill in charming downtown Anacortes before catching the ferry. What a great find! I chose to sit on the front patio since it was a picture perfect June day. I pretty much wanted everything on the menu, but decided to go with the Mediterranean squid and gnocchi with brown butter. All the other fried things that came with the squid (pepperoncinis, boquerones, olives!? Who knew fried olives were so divine?!) were all so good and the garlic aioli was a perfect compliment. The gnocchi was delicious with its very interesting combination of flavors and textures. The pineapple chutney was a surprising winner in this dish. Looking forward to returning here! read more

Really impressed with this spot! Food, service, and ambiance all deserve 5 stars. We started our meal with the croquet special, squid karaage, and the scotch egg - all of which were delicious. The three of us shared the paella for two (and had leftovers). We finished our meal with the ginger molasses cookie special which was the perfect winter finish to our meal. Ended up getting mild Food poisoning and when I notified them of it there really wasn't much accountability... the menu and excitement that was there in years past is getting a little stale. What a wonderful lunch we experienced today. The duck Pate was perfection, and my duck salad was exceptional. My husband had pork belly toast, and the layers of flavors were the best he had experienced. Jessica, our server was so kind and knowledgeable. Oh my gosh! I absolutely love this place, for so many different reasons! The food, the staff, the ambience... we are always treated so nicely, every visit. We are not "locals" or "regulars" as we live out of town, but visit as often as we come to town. Tim is always gracious without a fault and makes us feel so welcome! The salads and clam chowder are excellent as well but the scotch egg has now made it to being put on my last meal list. It came with truffle cheese fries with a curry ketchup dipping sauce. The flavors went perfectly with each other, a familiar flavor with a unique twist Soup and salad combo - honestly, perfect. Good amount of salad in a very light dressing. Soup of the day was a tomato bisque and it was freaking delicious. Came with focaccia bread and I was full after eating it all. Empanadas - delicious!!!! Comes with 2. Great dipping sauce and little side veggies with goat cheese. SERVICE a little slow but forgiven because of the true made to order nature of the foods. There is no place like ATown. I'm a hard gal to please when it comes to dinner restaurants, and ATown is one of the best I've ever been to (lucky for me I'm a local). Their ingredients are incredibly fresh, flavorful and locally sourced, and the flavors and textures of their dishes are exquisite. If you can get their calamari with squid ink aïoli, do it. Their cocktails are thoughtful, fresh and satisfying. The atmosphere is intimate and beautiful without being pretentious, and there's always the *perfect* amount of ambient noise. Beyond anything else, the service is phenomenal. Whether it's your first time or 50th time, you're treated like family - and I know how that sounds, but I'm dead serious. On the hunt for the best burger in the PNW, the search continues. I had read the reviews and had to check them out. The restaurant is located on the main drive for the town. Lots of traffic (slow moving!) The time of year I tried it, is during Christmas season. Anacortes business has a dual horse-drawn cable type red car all decked out, and they are pulling around the area for families. Singing carols, for free. It really adds to the charm you can't help to notice when you visit the are. The restaurant has a modern rustic interior. Very warm and welcoming when you enter the place. You are seated for lunch promptly and they pour you a small glass from a chilled bottle of water. A nice touch of decorum. The wait staff are very attentive and take your order quickly. I ordered the Wild Boar Burger. They said it was a 25% pork - 75% beef mixture. They suggested medium, I agreed. While waiting, I also noted they have a cool little salt bowl, an inverted pyramid, with coarse salt and a spoon for just a dash if needed. I just thought it was something cool that you'd like to note when you go there also.\ The burger came in under 10 minutes, quite fast. It was very fresh looking. The bun was a pretzel bun. Soft and extremely flavorful. the first bite was an explosion of burger flavor. The meat was tender and juicy. The bun, soft and gentle. Each bite was as good as the next. This was one of the better burgers I've had up here. Well worth the effort to get here. The catsup they use, is spiced up a bit. It's not made from scratch, but it does taste like it. The fries were crunchy on the outside and soft and perfect on the inside. It took me a while to finally get over to this spot and you have to call ahead to get seating so we missed a couple tries, but it sure was worth it! I'm so glad I finally got to try this restaurant. We were a party of 7 coming in to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We came in early for their happy hour. We only got drinks. As our party came in we ordered the Indoor Picnic Board which was great. The duck wings, yummy and the empanadas (I didn't try them).Our server was sweet and helpful. This place had a great feel to it. Soft lighting, a fireplace and clean bathrooms. Their food selection is a bit unique from what we are use to but that is what attracted us to try different. Most of us loved our meal but my daughter was just okay with the Mushroom Picatta. It was a new item on the menu last night. I wish I had tried it to get another opinion but I didn't. We were there over 3 hours and the server kept checking on us. My family and I had an unreal dining experience here. The menu has a unique creative flare and dishes from a wide variety of cuisines and cultures. Usually this would give me pause but these guys executed everything impeccably. The potatoes Bravas were so good we got a second order with our mains. Beautifully fried potatoes served with a couple differently spiced aiolies and a distinctive onion jam- all plated delightfully together. I tried the bento box, which had a myriad of pickled wonders alongside well roasted squash, a perfectly poached tamari egg, and a tasty veggie sushi roll. Our waitress was also a uniquely cheery person who lovingly walked us through each and every dish and made sure our wine glasses never got too dry. Without sampling the rest of the local fare, I can safely say this is the best restaurant in Anacortes. read more
