We have walked by here along the marina so many times and never gave it a try, mostly because my wife is a vegetarian and the menu doesn't suit her. We finally decided to give it a try and my wife settled for some chips and salsa, and a glass of white wine. I went with the cod fish and chips. Not pet friendly, despite what the online information says. The listing on Maps clearly stated that pets were welcome, so we brought our dog with us. We would not have done so if we had known otherwise. It would be appreciated if the business updated its online information so customers know the actual pet policy before arriving. Unfortunately, the waitress was also less than pleasant about the situation and made us feel as though we were foolish for bringing our dog. A simple, polite explanation would have gone a long way. I don't understand people that work at restaurants but have absolutely no concept of hospitality. The entire experience for three of us at lunch was terrible. The hostess had an attitude that made us feel unwelcome. The waiter took nearly 15 minutes to stop by. When he finally did arrive it was just to tell us how busy he was and he would be by again as soon as he could, which turned out to be another 10 minutes, thats 25 minutes from seating to drink order. The salmon was under seasoned and under cooked, and I like my salmon rare, so think about how far off the temperature was. Lastly, and I see others have commented, if you are going to chage me $50 per person for lunch, you have to serve it on dinnerware, not plastic plates, glasses and flatware. SHOCKED THEY SERVED A $25 GLASS OF WINE IN A PLASTIC CUP! This may be the worst restaurant decision we made in the past 7 years. Many other local spots that will be better. AVOID THIS ONE. read more

If you don't get, you can't give. Sadly such is the case with 'The Cabana', an informal dining adjunct next to the Anthony's restaurant in Anacortes. THE ROSES: Wonderfully fun, well, laid out and attractive space. The Cabana encourages people to hang out, nosh and have fun with a bocce court and live music frequently on offer. Limited menu does a reasonably good job including appetizers, mains and some really nice looking desserts. The prices were quite attractive, especially after dropping a C-note at the adjacent Anthony's the night before. THE THORNS: The sign at the entry said 'seat yourself'. We sat ourselves, and waited for a server to take an order, drop off some water, or at least acknowledge our existence. And we waited. And we waited. And we waited a bit more. After ten minutes of staff members walking RIGHT BY US and not even making eye contact, despite my best efforts to do so. I started to worry this was like the movie "Ghost", where the newly-dead Patrick Swaze character doesn't realize he's dead yet, and can't understand why no one seems to hear and notice him. We finally quietly left and dined again next door. Anthony's still got our money in the end, so I'm not happy about that, but we were hungry, and didn't feel like walking into town to eat somewhere else. THE VERDICT: If the food here is as good as next door, it's probably pretty good - if you can get someone to notice you and bring it! I realize that staff can get busy (but honestly on a Sunday evening, this place wasn't that slammed), but it won't kill a server - any server - to at least say hello and let you know that someone will be coming - someday - to take your order. I think ten minutes is a reasonable amount of time to get noticed, don't you? Anyway, one star. You'll probably have a good experience. I can't believe this place treats everyone this way and stays in business, so I'll be generous and assume this horrid experience was a 'one-off'. Whenever I'm in Anacortes on a sunny day, The Cabana is my favorite place to stop for lunch or happy hour. Their menu (prepared at neighboring Anthony's) is full of fresh seafood options, nourishing salads, and great specialty cocktails. But the best part is the beautiful outdoor setting with views over the Anacortes marina. It's an amazing place to sit and enjoy drinks and good food while boat (and people) watching. The service is always on point, and there's rarely a long wait for one of their outdoor umbrella tables. If I had one issue, it's that their prices have gone up this past year, while their portion sizes have definitely dwindled. I recently had their poke bowl and it was more of a poke snack than a bowl. I guess it's a sign of the times - but it does make it less affordable for me to go there. read more

Overpriced especially for what you receive. The portions are incredibly small - insultingly so. I ordered a three-piece fish and chips for $26 and received McNugget-sized pieces of fish. Here's a photo of the fish servings (I ate some fries before the photo was taken so ignore that serving size). When I asked the server if that was the normal size I got a yes and a "yes, it's kinda sad" response. I rarely post negative reviews and always wait a few days to see if I still feel the same way. In this case, I still feel as ripped off as the first days ago. My family and I have gone to Anthony's for several years but no more. Went here 5/24/25 for a burger and some sun. Super busy which is normal for this place. Also, they got rid of the bocce ball court, which really added some nice space to eat at. We had to wait quite a while for our server and getting everything put in, but that is only because I think she may have been the only one acting as a server. We ordered the cheeseburgers. We ordered them medium rare and my wife added bacon to hers. When they finally came, they were not medium rare. They were just a consistent gray color. These weren't the same burgers as last year. These were pre-formed thin, tasteless burgers. My wife's bacon was literally raw and in a ball instead of being put on like regular bacon. We showed our server and she was disgusted with it. All in all a very poor experience and at $21 a burger we won't be having those again. You can come in and enjoy the scenery of the marina and have a drink, but I would steer clear of the food and definitely not go if you're in any kind of a hurry. Met some of my friends today and really enjoyed the atmosphere of this place. It is all a outdoor with some of it covered overhead...they had hanging heaters which was good because it was a little cold. I had the blackened fish taco and the cucumber drink. You know what? This place was not bad, it has been closed for a while, but it is now back, and it is fun. They have an open aired patio with bocce ball, and a great lunch menu. They have great service, just like Anthony's next door, they have heaters in the patio, so you do not get cold on cloudy days.... Went here for my birthday. I wasn't paying and I eat out quite often so I didn't choose. As soon as they handed me the plastic/disposable water cups I knew I was in for something forgettable. I ordered the spicy salmon tacos. The salmon was spicy, but the rest was difficult to recognize. There was barely enough salsa mayo to taste it. Every once in a while I got a really good bite, but only one or two. There were enough tortilla chips, but barely enough salsa to cover them. If you want salsa for the tacos, forget it. My friend got the cobb salad. He seemed fine with it, but he doesn't eat out often, The price was ridiculous for what we received. Service was nothing special. I eat at Anthony's regularly and the price for the tacos was about the same as the lunch menu for Anthony's. At least they have REAL water glasses in there. I get that The Cabana is outside - but really. Oh and I can't forget the bathroom. DISGUSTING. No toilet paper and it felt so dirty I didn't want to touch anything. If I hadn't consumed a full pitcher of water and had a 30 minute drive home I would NOT have even considered using it. Overpriced chain restaurant. Grateful for the thoughtful birthday dinner, but I wouldn't go back to the Cabana. Get something at the teriyaki place across the way and go eat it by the water. read more

We had a large group of 9 and we were seated very quickly and the staff were very nice and shuffled things around to accommodate us. The views are amazing especially on a clear day! The marina and the mountains in the background are breathtaking. The menu had a lot of options that I wanted to try and it was a sweet surprise when the prices were very fair! Especially being affiliated with Anthony's next door that is more on the pricey end. I ordered the Mahi Mahi Tacos and my husband got the Alaskan Cod dish. Careful when walking out to the Cabana, look down so you don't step off the edge of the Bocce Ball court which is unmarked in the middle of the area. Four of attended The Cabana 7/24/19.
