The food is incredible and 100% worth the prices. The staff were attentive and kind. The view was gorgeous and we will definitely be back.

Last year I had a great experience here. This year not so much. It started with a long wait at an unmanned front desk. And continued with another long wait before making first contact with a server. I felt the razor clam chowder was expired. Too fishy to be fresh. Too salty. I didn't eat this. The full cup was removed by some server; no inquiry if it was good. The dry aged bone-in ribeye came overcooked (medium well instead of medium rare); but what was worse was the tough, chewy quality, lack of any beef flavor, let alone any hint of actual dry aging as advertised. Instead it was woefully overseasoned. Mashed potatoes tasteless....the fresh bread on the table made for a better side dish. Here, the server did ask and later offered me a free dessert to make up for it. I feel I could have easily rated this 2 stars - the place lived up to being in a Casino - but the view of Padilla Bay and Mt. Adams very much upgraded the experience again. Hubby and I have been trying to get in here for the longest but always miss the working hours We got what you see pictured and *chefs kiss* My hubby enjoyed all of his meal and where my food was good ; I can't say I'm a braised lamb person ... I'll stick with my lamb chops lol the meat on it though - TENDERNISM ! Fell right off the bone !! We live locally and have enjoyed the quality and ambience of 13-Moons for years, that was until yesterday. I made a reservation for dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday, and specifically requested a window seat. All via voicemail as there was no one answering phones. We arrived a few minutes early and I told the hostess we had a reservation for my wife's birthday dinner. She took us in and of course all the window seats were taken. I told the hostess I'd made a reservation days in advance, at a specific time. Why could they not honor that....she had no answer, nor did she offer us a seat in the bar to wait for a table to open, nor did she offer us dining on the patio. We were seated in the middle of the room! Our server was friendly and attentive, and the menu unchanged, (expensive)...When our food arrived it was noticeably smaller in portion size. All of our offerings were a little overcooked and slightly dry. Now, living locally we know that nearly all the restaurants on the island are tourist driven, where your dollar matters more to them than whether or not you return in the future, it's just sad to see this establishment heading down that path apparently. We know we have other options off-island and will be exploring them, especially for special occasions. Will this restaurant care about my review? My wife and I dined at 13 Moons for her birthday dinner. Online dinner reservations were easy to make. We arrived about 10 minutes before our dinner reservation and had to wait in the lobby area until the exact time of our reservation. I found that a bit odd especially since 13 Moons had several empty tables during our visit. A 20% gratuity is added to group of 6+. There is an outdoor dining area to enjoy on warmer days. Lounge seating and family restaurant seating is also an option. Large parties can easily be accommodated. 13 Moons offers a full bar. Food items range from Sushi to PNW favorites. We were seated next to the kitchen where there was a lot of traffic. It would have been nice to have been seated next to the window with a view or been given an option to sit outside. While looking over the menu, we snacked on complimentary bread and oil. My wife originally ordered the Dungeness Crab-Crusted Halibut only to be told they were out of Halibut. Her second option was the Filet Mignon for $59: 8oz Angus beef steak with Yukon Gold mashed potatoes. She enjoyed her meal. I ordered the Marsala Mushroom Pork Chop for $37: Grilled Pork Chop with Marsala glazed mushrooms and green onions served over Yukon Gold mashed potatoes. The flavor was great but the chop wasn't as tender as I would have liked it to be. A complimentary dessert was offered for my wife's birthday so we chose the Double Chocolate Brownie Cake to-go. Service was friendly and efficient. Plating is beautiful. Prices are high. Overall, I wasn't impressed with 13 Moons. Maybe it was our table. So we came here to celebrate my husband's birthday with some friends. He wanted steak and from what I read this was the place for it. The restaurant itself was beautiful. We wished we made reservation for the outside patio seating area. It was a beautiful night and that would have fit our group so much better. Instead we were seat inside near the entrance stairway. Our waitress was super friendly, unfortunately even though we made a reservation for a group of 7 when we were seated, several within our group did not have plates or water. I think they had it set up for 5 people instead of 7. A few people in our group had to ask for water several time. So service could have been better. Two within our group order the Tomahawk to share. For $99 a plate it was definitely huge and the way they present it was beautiful. This was my second time ordering a tomahawk and while it looked impressive, I find compared to the Silver Reef's Steak House version it was disappointing. The other people in the party order the ribeye and a fish special plate. Over all they said it was good, but not spectacular for the price. Bonus they provide my husband the birthday boy a nice dessert at the end. Overall it was a nice dinner experience, not sure if I would go back for the food and service read more

Had 6:30 reservations last night. Got there early and got seated just after 6pm. Went specifically for the Prime rib and got told the prime rib was sold out. You open at 5 and we got there an hour later and the special prime rib was sold out? Hows that work? We ended up having the rib eye and the chx pasta and scallops for app. Nice place will eventually get back for the prime rib. Service was spectacular our server was great covering for the kitchen outage. read more

Pretty good ribeye steak but for the price you'd expect more to the dish. I just sits on a pile of mashed potatoes and that's the dish. $70 for a ribeye that sits on some mashed potatoes. Calamari is basic and very simple. Our entire party liked their food and the staff is very nice. During the night it has an elegant vibe to it but during the day it just seems like another random restaurant. One thing that did bother me that I can't believe actually happens is they allow dogs inside. A lady had two small dogs with her at her table. This is insane to me. read more

Wonderful experience - great food and service. We dined there for the first time on my husband's birthday, Thursday, February 20. The service was impeccable ..... from the hostess that seated us, to the person that took our drink orders .... and, of course, our super server Kiera C. We have dined around the world and found the filet mignon at 13 Moons to be excellent -- amongst the top in the world (as was the wedge salad and locally-grown baked potato). We chose the brownie cake for the birthday dessert ...... how decadent and delicious. In addition to a perfectly made brownie/cake, it came with a scoop of ice cream and freshly whipped cream on the side. We were also impressed with the atmosphere of the casino. We are always hesitant to dine at a casino as they tend to be smokey and noisy. This casino was smoke-free and the casino was not loud. The restaurant has amazing views of the water and I could see that, during the summer, there is outside dining. There is no question --- we will be returning. read more

Before writing this post I think it's important to know what the restaurant name comes from the Swinomish tribe has an awesome guide which states is derived from the 13 moons of the Coast Salish lunar calendar. Topics and activities associated with each moon phase are outlined with the traditional and cultural events and many of the phases also represent season. I think this resultant does such beautiful job highlighting the culture of its name highlighting season Ingredients in a upscale yet simple way. Letting everything speak for itself. The staff was so incredibly helpful and kind. You blink and your water glass was refilled or a new fork was placed. Our server had incredible recommendations. We started with crab cakes my husband and I both do not like fruit with savory dishes this seriously made us change our minds. The apple paired so beautifully with the crab cakes richness. Without a doubt just order it won't disappoint except you may fight over who gets the last bite. My husbands halibut was perfectly cooked so tender, flavorful. My steak was giant they say 14 oz but I swear it was more took over half home and was enough for three meals. Was cooked perfectly rare from end to end. I changed from the seasonal veggie to a cesar salad . The salad was accidentally made into a large the lettuce was crisp yet tender. The Cesar salad dressing was salty, citrusy. I also added mushrooms and they were the perfect side to my steak.. The espresso cream Brûlée was so light but pack a amazing espresso flavor. Was such a highlight to the meal. Came here with my gf made a last minute reservation to get in. The view looks nice and restaurant is nice but the food is extremely overpriced and they give you small portions as well. I ordered garlic fries for my appetizer and they were awesome. For my meal i ordered the wild sockeye salmon and lobster... the salmon was good but they gave me the smallest lobster I've ever had. Wasn't even a lobster tail. These people took 1 lobster tail cut it into four pieces and divided it between the two of us. So your plate is rice and salmon with two tiny bites of lobster for $57 dollars huge disappointment I don't mind paying a lot of money for food but if I do I expect it to be amazing and it wasn't. I love lobster and was extremely disappointed by this. As soon as I got the final bill for $175 I thought to myself damn should've went to Anthony's instead. read more

Although the person that greeted us wasn't very welcoming because "we are a reservation establishment", and we showed up without prior reservations, we obliged and waited for about 10 minutes for her to seat us. Unless her reference was to the point that they are a reservation/tribal establishment? In retrospect, I am not sure and either way, we were just there to dine and didn't really understand the point of her making this comment, especially considering that the restaurant was not busy inside or outside. ‍ The rest of the staff were very friendly and attentive and we had a lovely dining experience with the beautiful view from their roof top seating. The jumbo prawn appetizer was delicious, adult beverages done correctly, salads and pan-seared salmon special was delicious. I love the choices of sides. They even have sour cream, bacon bits AND chives and were happy to provide us both with our own serving without us asking. Props to them! So often in restaurants, these simple accoutrements are provided only with some negotiation then tiny amounts arrive. Not here! As you can tell, this detail is important to us. Enjoy! read more

We decided to make a night at the Swinomish Casino and Lodge. Last time we were here there was no hotel and we did not gamble. We made a reservation but I don't think we really needed one. The place was sparsely occupied. The restaurant looks out onto Anacortes and it's close by islands. Very nice view. The tables are set up nicely as well. We were seated along the glass wall. The menu is seafood and steak based as far as entrees go. I saw a pork chop dish but no chicken. The prices are up there to match the surroundings but as you know if you follow my reviews I don't mind breaking out the jaws of life to crack open my wallet for a nice experience. We ordered the grilled shrimp cocktail appetizer, wedge salad for my bride and a Caesar salad with anchovies. I was glad to see that because anchovies are an integral part of a true Caesar. I ordered the NY strip with a loaded potato. Mama had the salmon/crab Alfredo. Looking at it I thought I made a mistake going with the strip. I ordered medium rare and it was that for sure. The cut I received had a little more fat and gristle than I would have liked and for what they charge I expected a better cut. Don't get me wrong the meat was excellent. I detected a sea salt/rosemary rub which offset the richness of the almost rare meat. The potato came naked but they give me a separate dish with the standard fixins. The potato was rubbed with olive oil and sea salt. I do that at home. The service was good. Our server was attentive but not overly so and she was easy to talk to. I'm sure she had a nice smile but I couldn't see because she was masked. Apparently Covid only exists above four feet in restaurants. The courses came out spaced correctly and the portions were ample. The steak was 14 ounces including the parts I couldn't eat. The dinner was very good and we will come back eventually. Quality to Price ratio falls in favor of price. We didn't pay just for food but the entire experience even if the food quality was less than what we paid......man I am rambling! Literally the best meal of my life. I had the daily special which was Halibut with a dungeness crabcake on top covered in bernaise sauce with a side of garlic mashed potatoes instead of rice pilaf. My drink of choice was a glass of prosecco. Everything from the atmosphere to the service to the food and drinks was perfect. Great restaurant in an unlikely location. The views from the dining room are gorgeous! The service was great and the food delicious! It's not a huge menu and most entrees are pretty pricey. I think a few more less expensive entrees would be a nice addition, as would some vegetarian options. That being said, I had a halibut filet with a crab cake that was delicious, but would have preferred it to not be drenched in a very heavy sauce. I'll be back for sure. read more

I think I clicked in at the perfect time to get a last minute reservation. One open table time for the whole night, I immediately snagged it. Nice place, on the casual side. Lots of open space between you and the party next to you. The food was really, really good. Probably not diet friendly, but hey... it was New Year's Eve. Server was friendly, kept my water glass filled most of the time. Just wasn't overly outgoing. Menu is kind of limited. Offered enough that most will find something to eat. Prices are a little high. I have begun to really understand that everyone has a different idea of great food, and an acceptable price...but as self-proclaimed foodies...this is as good as it gets and worth every penny. She suggested we try the scallops as an appetizer (we were not planning to eat an appetizer) but she made a huge deal about how good they were so we figured why not. My only wish is that there had been more of them. They were perfect...perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned (very lightly) and the garlic mushroom sauce they sat on was to die for. Great recommendation! The Food: I love when you can talk with a server about what you want, and they say...well, that is not on the menu but we can make that happen. Chef prepared a 4 oz filet (as perfect as any steak we have every had) along with the halibut...which were basically two different meals. The fish was light and tasted amazing, and the portion size was huge. The Price: Great food typically comes with a price tag. If I was eating at the corner chain restaurant I would have been upset with what we paid for dinner, but this meal was worth every penny. The Atmosphere: The indoor seating was cozy; however, on a nicer day we would have snatched up one of the tables on the patio with a huge fireplace and great views of the Sound. The food was honestly so good but the service was supremely lacking. They have this obvious wall on the right side of the grill where it's supposed to be probably a service area to gather things or fold napkins or something but the servers like to hide in there and imagine they always came out texting on their cell phones. It's not that big of a deal except I had no water and my dirty plate was in front of me for a long time and when I finallllly saw my server they were obviously texting. Phone in hand smiling and laughing at phone. Also I ordered two pomegranate martinis and the first time it was super good. Chilled. Sugar rim. The second one was like someone's mess up. It was warm and no sugared rim. I would have mentioned it to my server if they walked by. So yeah really expensive. Good food. Staff hangs out and chats openly. Not the best service around. It's just a really expensive restaurant so usually your tip is quite a bit larger when you do 20 percent so you kind of expect decent service. I did try to ask someone else for help when they walked by but I wasn't their table and they said scornfully they'd find my server. Big eye roll.
