Do not place anyone you love or care about in memory care. They could not account for 6 falls my parent had in 2 months. My parent left that facility with multiple bedsores and a severe urinary tract infection. Only cared about increasing prices for services that were not rendered. Management staff need to work on the same page. read more

Received from the director. ENOUGH SAID I'm the daughter and this behavior is consistent. One call per day for maybe 5 minutes is not much of an ask given the cost of the facility. I just have to pass this to her guardian ad litem. There is a special place in hell for these caregivers. The judge is going to LOVE them. Isolating someone with dementia is elder abuse. My wife placed her mother in this place only to have the rates continue to go up. After removing her from this facility we were contacted by Orange County Sheriff's. They arrested an employee for steering jewelry from the elderly residence including my mother in law. I do not recommend this facility. read more

We did not have a good experience with Atria in the memory floor. We had great expectations and the execution was less than acceptable . My relative developed a acute UTI and they wanted to charge more for services rather than consider something could be physically wrong. The grounds are beautiful but not suitable for memory patients to go putside because there are no gates. They should convert to assisted living only. We were told their memory residents were high functioning but I saw no evidence of that. Now throw covid in the mix and it was so disappointing. read more

My husband was in this facility from October 2018- September 2019. The care was terrible. He sometimes wasn't bathed for a week. He was incontinent, needed 24 hour care. They would take him to eat his meals and straight back to bed. They left his soiled diapers in the trash and the room smelled terrible. If he needed a doctor it would take days or a week to get someone to see him. Stay away at all costs. read more

We were looking for a short term care facility for my husband in between hospital stay and home. We looked into several facilities and chose this one mainly because of Jennifer who was the sales representative. Jeremiah answered all of our questions and was very helpful the entire stay . The transportation was great to my husband's dialysis three times a week and doctors appointments . Perry, the driver, was extremely nice and professional . Physical therapy was great, five days a week with very professional technicians. My Husband was very confident with Judee, Nicole and Kristy. They worked him hard to get him ready to go home . Our at home physical therapist couldn't believe how well he was doing.This was our first experience with anything like this so we were a little apprehensive at first. However, everything was clean. The staff is professional and very thoughtful and respectful. Every visit I was greeted with a smile when I walked in. The Receptionists were very thorough to make sure that temperatures were taken and masks were worn. Covid rules were very strict which I appreciated. Thanks to all of you! read more

From the minute you walk into atria Del Sol you will realize it is an extremely well run facility. The common area, rooms, the dining area are all well appointed and maintained. The staff from the receptionist to caregivers to food personnel to the maintenance crew all present themselves well, are caring and polite and eager to help. My wife has been here for two years. Knowing the care and safe surroundings she receives at Atria lifted a huge burden off my shoulders. I visited six facilities before choosing Atria and I am certain I made the right choice. read more

I want to thank the entire staff at Atria Del Sol in Mission Viejo. We moved my father in a year and a half ago after and extremely difficult year. Atria was exactly what he needed! He made friends and enjoyed lots of TLC which was greatly appreciated. He recovered so well that after a year and half, he decided to move into his own apartment! I could have never imagined he would regain all independence but he did! Largely due to Atria. During the pandemic, they kept all the residents safe and did everything they could to stay positive. It was a very challenging time for all of us, especially the seniors. I could not have asked for a better team to keep my dad safe. They kept him occupied, eating healthy and offered so many activities on site, even when they couldn't leave their rooms. Reika was also so sweet and positive with all the residents. Finally when my dad was able to have his elective surgery, Joanna and her team did a great job making sure he healed properly and quickly. The front desk staff was amazing and Nina was one of dad's favorites. There were so many wonderfully kind staff, I cannot name them all. If you are looking for a caring staff that gives the right level of care in a beautiful facility and grounds, I highly recommend Atria! read more

My dad spent his last 2.5 years at Atria. We could not have asked for a better place for him. The staff is absolutely remarkable. Everyone is so very caring and kind. They took such great care of him, and I grew to love each of them for their compassion and loving spirits. All the residents were so very kind to my dad. Their bright spirits and positive outlook on life lifted me and my dad every day. Everyone in this facility added to my father's last days with their care and love for him. Our family is truly blessed that he was surrounded by all these wonderful people. In addition, the management worked with us to provide my dad with a place that he felt safe and secure as he entered the last phase of his life. They did this out of the goodness of their hearts and I know that started with Terri Harmon. She is a true blessing and along with her staff, they provided support for us, including the navigation of insurance issues. I could always count on them and they never disappointed. Everyone who works at this facility cares about the residents in the most loving way. As I was there every day for 2.5 years, I know this is a fact. My mother-in-law moved into Atria del Sol MV in January. Recovering from the loss of her husband and 2 stints in the hospital herself - she was weak and depressed. Today, she is healthier and happier than i have seen her in the past 5 years. She can't say enough good things about the staff. In her own words, they are attentive, caring, and work very hard to come up with activities that the residents will enjoy. The current facilities are nice and clean and the price is very reasonable compared to other assisted living facilities in the MV, LH areas. Major facility renovation will begin in the next week or so and the plans look great - including a new movie theater. read more

I know first hand how difficult it is to make a decision for your loved one. I looked to these reviews when looking for a facility for my mom, and there aren't many out there so it makes it so difficult. I looked personally at big South OC facilities and small facilities. Atria was recently remodeled and they did a beautiful job with the decor. At the time my mom was there- and the reason they even get 3 stars is the care staff did their absolute best with what they were given to work with- they were amazing people. I did see turn over, and there were many times where I had to look for a staff member to help someone in the living room (getting up from a chair and almost falling). I realized that this wasn't a facility trying to get enough folks hired, this is how they staff. Things that are ABSOLUTELY important to remember when looking for a facility for your loved one...... nursing care. Atria does NOT have 24 hour nursing. They CANNOT even give your loved one a tylenol without a prescription. People with dementia DECLINE, and with this they have behavioral changes (and sometimes these changes are from something simple like a UTI). Atria is NOT willing to follow your family member through these changes. They will tell you they are, that they will go all the way to hospice, but they don't explain that they are not willing to work with the behavior changes in between (and there WILL be changes). There is a great chance your family member will be sent to a psychiatric hospital. This is not an overnight experience- they stay at minimum 2 weeks. It is so hard to make decisions for a loved one in this area..... you look to facilities or reviews for guidance to help you. Good luck in your search....... read more
