I chose this place for my partner & I based on where we were at the time. Looked at the reviews & decided to go. Showed up around lunch time. It was definitely busy in there. We did not have to wait for seating even though it was busy. Opted for outside seating which usually I am a bit hesitant about because some place will forget about the outside. Their service was amazing! Waiter & waitresses were great. Very attentive and even went above and beyond. Food was spectacular! I was only able to take a quick photo of my food before we dug in! We were hungry!

We both got the chicken Schwarma. These plates come with brown/white rice, humus, and a house salad. A side for garlic is provided. Be sure to ask for Tahini and the spicy red sauce if you want more sauces! The food is well proportioned and the flavors are better than Cava - which had been my favorite place to go for Mediterranean food for the taste and cost. I quickly devoured everything, and the music reminded me of an upbeat, energetic, and bright social gathering. It was also a bit of a hidden surprise for me to realize this is two restaurants combined into one - if you want you have the option to try Italian dishes from Angelo's! I hope to try it the next time. Iced water with lemon slices topped off my experience. I don't think I come across many restaurants that would offer lemon slices right off the bat without you asking. Thank you all so much for your service and kindness.

Something a lot of other places don't do these days. Their Birria is also incredibly tender and juicy. The staff is also fairly fast at turning out orders and they are all nice and attentive (have never had my order messed up here) My family can't go more than a week without demanding to come here!

Although their prices are high, $16 for a torta, it's usually worth it, because their portions are quite generous. Earlier today, I ordered a torta to go, and I ended up extremely disappointed when I got home. It had literally half the meat, half the beans, and half the cheese that it normally does. This was the first time I'd been disappointed with their food, but I decided to call and express my dissatisfaction. I was passed to the manager who handled the situation in the most unprofessional way. I explained the issue to him, and he insisted that my torta today had the same amount of meat, beans, and cheese as always. I disagreed with him, and he responded angrily, "Everybody makes mistakes!" He raised his voice and repeated it a couple of times. It was completely bizarre that he chose to speak to me as if I was the one who'd done something wrong. It's very childish to do a subpar job and then get upset and frustrated when you're called on it. An adult apologizes and pledges to not blow it again. Anyhow, I don't tolerate disrespectful people so I'm done. I won't spend another penny there.

Patty was also super nice and helpful at the hot buffet bar. I thoroughly enjoyed taco Tuesday-- soyrizo potato tacos and mushroom fajita tacos served on a corn tortilla. The vegetable spring roll served with peanut sauce from the refrigerated section was absolutely divine and super fresh! There is also a new fresh baked pastries section that looks absolutely delightful! I'm excited to try the sourdough bread loaf-- they have a few different flavors including regular, Gouda & chive, etc. I would definitely recommend the Councilors Student Pavilion Cafe if you're on campus!

I wanted to order a burrito with guac, and the cashier lady said we don't have guac. So, I looked again at the menu to see if I was mistaken, and I said "oh it says guac on the menu, so do you guys only sell avocado." Then, in a disrespectful tone she said, " we don't have guac because of how many students are on campus now it is too hard to make it, mind you they barely opened 40 minutes prior to that. So then I said, that's fine I will just have avocado ($2.50 additional charge). As I am waiting, all of the sudden she "finds" guac and asks if I want that instead. So I said that's fine even though I just wasted $2.50 and didn't get avocado. Anyways, I take my burrito to go and when I bite into it, I notice a runny yellow liquid with seeds "the guac". It wasn't even made with avocado & it was spicy, so I assume it was salsa. So basically, I paid for avocado that I didn't get, I never got guac, and its been three days and I have had a stomach ache & digestive problems ever since. I do not recommended.

As we were approaching California & Benton I quickly pointed out, Beyond Biryani. Thats the restaurant I've been meaning to try. My husband and I were the only patrons at the time of our arrival. The dinning area is casual & charming with a hint of coziness. The Beautiful photos of India cuisine that line the walls made me salivate. I just knew I was in for something big. The menu is pretty diverse. It took me some time to decide because I could hardly make up my mind. Our waiter was so patient and kind, bless his heart. Then a young man walked over and asked if we had any questions. It turns out he is the owner. My husband asked a few questions then put in his order. Roti, Lamb Curry and spicy sautéed veggies. Mohammed prepared a speciality dish for my husband who is a heavyweight when it comes to partaking in spicy foods. Mohammed brought it on and my husband was in heaven. The Lamb Curry was tender and spiced to perfection The Veggies had a smoky, charred flavor that he equally enjoyed. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, Samosa, garlic Naan & colorful Battsmatti rice. All i can tell you, is that I was one very happy camper! Right away my thought was....Yes, this is a Great treat ! Mohammed, serviced up Quality & quantity. Over all we are so thrilled that we tried Beyond Biryani today! This is going to be our new go to and I plan on passing the word on to everyone i know. Mohammed & the other very nice gentleman that waited our table, Hats off to you! Blessings & keep doing what you're doing..... You've got our vote! See u soon!!! Chef Ann & hubby

Beyond Biryani is apparently 2 partners from India - one north and one south - so it's a marriage of regional flavors under one roof. My son wanted to treat me to dinner early for Fathers Day. I have been longing to try this restaurant since it had been recommended by a client of mine from India. He promised this was "the place" in the IE for authenticity. So I opted to go here - eager for the opportunity. A party of five of us arrived We were greeted by the tantalizing masala fragrances and an older kind faced gentleman who is likely one of the proprietors. We were promptly seated and began salivating over the selections. The menu is prolific - check their website for a preview. I had my mind set on 4 dishes right away after arriving and reading through the offerings. I asked advice from the server, a young lady that was quite welcoming. We assured her we could handle the heat of some of the warmer dishes (I LOVE spice!!) Multiple spicy curries, a tangy rich & creamy tikka masala, a fiery chicken biryani dish, and some lightly charred garlic naan appeared after appropriate time. Dig in!! Oooooooh my - picture Mark Wiens saying "ooooooohhhh" (iykyk). So very satisfying! Heat that had the tears on the edge of the eyelids, but was so enjoyable! Succulent curry gravies, tender chicken and lamb, and scooping it as fast as swallowing and savoring allow. Loved every bite! My one regret? The photo you see is the ONLY one we got (the server was super sweet and took it along with some good natured jesting with us). Long story short? Best Indian food experience I have had. Can't wait to return! Epic!!! Thank you!!
