That said the original Featherbone employeed the majority of my family from the 1920's onward - in fact many of them can be found in a large panaramic photo when you walk into the facility. Celebrating the past is a positive way to remember it and in many ways the Featherbone manages this well. It's a nice place with interesting and very articulate reproductions - many in cast iron. The serivce there is very friendly and I would say if we had a summer place in the county, Featherbone would be our first stop!

Horrible customer service. I bought a vase yesterday. It was not put in my bag. I discovered this…read morewhen I got home and called the antique mall. It was after hours and David called me back . He said he would call me in the morning after he checked if it was there. I said it was an inconvenience because I live 14 miles away so it was a 28 mile round-trip for me to come and get it if it was there. No apology on his part. End of conversation. The next morning he called me and said the vase was there. I said I would come and get it. When I got there and he was putting the vase in the bag, he said "they tried to run after you, but they couldn't catch you." That was it. Still no apology, so: Me: No apology? Him: 14 miles is not far. (This is how I knew he was the same person I talked to last night). Me: It's a 28 miles round-trip plus the time, gas, and the inconvenience. Him: Do you want the vase or not? What a terrible way to treat a 30 year customer, or anyone for that matter. A simple apology for the error would have been the correct way to handle the situation. Needless to say, I'm done with Coachman Antique Mall.

I am a frequent shopper and Sojourn had some really fantastic pieces that would make a unique gift or that cool piece you've been looking for high and low. They had a nice selection of art from local artists, as well as a great selection of books that would make you look very hip on your coffee table! I will definitely stop back into Sojourn the next time I'm in Michigan!

But don't you worry, I didn't leave empty handed--this store didn't have what I was looking for, but it had a lot of other great stuff. It's a little confusing when you get there, trying to figure out where to go in--or if, indeed, you should go in; I was really worried I was wandering around someone's private home. I'm almost positive it *was* a private home at on time, and they've used the space in a really cool way. When you wander through the store--which is pretty large, and PACKED with stuff--you'll find furniture, candles, silverware, dinnerware, blankets, pillows, tote bags, cookie cutters, greeting cards... just about any sort of gift or houseware item you might want. They also have as a part of their business custom furniture building, and they've used one of the rooms to display the different types of wood that you can choose for your furniture. That's so creative!! I really love how in the kitchen they still have old-school appliances like a dishwasher, refrigerator... I swear, I felt like I was in my grandma's home. And the counters are also used to display merchandise. I'm honestly just so astounded by how clever they used this space to make it wonderfully inviting. The thing I don't love about this store is that it doesn't have a website for anything beyond its woodworking arm, and they don't use ApplePay. I asked about both things, because I had wanted to buy a blanket as a gift, but realized I had the household card on me instead of my debit card. So I ended up only picking up a few items and left the blanket. I know that opting against e-commerce is a deliberate choice and they clearly don't need to venture online for their business to work, but it's too bad for folks like me who don't live near and are not going to make the trip to shop there.
