I saw Dr Toth with my husband for infertility. He prescribes an overdose of antibiotics which cause my husband and I to have serious adverse reactions. When we called his office and told him what we were experiencing, he rudely dismissed us and did not return phone calls. He has been sued several times it is amazing he is still in business. Dr Toth is just brilliant. Our daughter is a healthy 38 year old who would not be here if it weren't for Dr Toth and his research and inherent kindness. Please understand that sometimes it is difficult to process that you have infertility problems, whether husband or wife and it does not help if you play the blame game. My husband and I saw Dr. Toth after I lost twin girls at 20 weeks due to an infection. My pregnancy was the result of IVF, which means we were both tested up, down and sideways for Chlamydia. They never found it, and yet I lost twins due to a presumably undiagnosed infection--possibly the chlamydia that Dr. Toth identified. Dr.Toth is a world class reproductive pathologist. Consistent with his expertise, he has set up a pathology lab to find out what is really going on with his patients. Instead of culturing samples for 2-3 days like most labs, Dr.Toth's lab cultures samples for 10 days. As a result, he finds problems other labs don't. If you doubt Dr. Toth's findings, it would be productive to ask him for proof. He can show you the sample counts of the bacteria he has found, and if you ask he might even be able to show you a picture. If you have a "feeling" his work is without merit, you would do well to ask him for his clinical success rates. To trash Dr. Toth's reputation based on baseless assumptions and anger over the cost of his services is rash and totally unfair. Dr. Toth has evidence that Chlamydia can be transmitted from father or mother to offspring. This explains chlamydia found in a faithful couple. It is correlated to heart disease (ask him!), and you might be able to track it that way in your family tree. When Dr. Toth has completed your treatment, test results should show greatly improved pathology. His methods, antibiotics, are harsh and must be mediated with the use of probiotics. Stay away from this man. About 10 years ago I was experiencing frequent urination and thought it was related to prostatitis. Initially none of the urologists I visited could find anything wrong with me and every single test I took came back negative for any infection. Including PCR tests for chlamydia, gonorrhea, etc. I found Dr. Toth online and decided to make an appointment since his website mentioned at expertise in treating prostatitis. After performing a fluorescent antibody test (a test I came to learn is antiquated and no longer used by most physicians) Dr. Toth proceeded to tell me I had Chlamydia. I was shocked to say the least considering I had recently tested negative for Chlamydia on a PCR test (the gold standard test in the medical community). I was young and foolish and in need of help, so I believed Toth's false diagnosis. I spent the next couple of months getting injections directly into my prostrate with some antibiotic cocktail Toth made himself, which he claimed would cure the "infection." When my frequent urination failed to respond to treatment, I sought another opinion from a doctor at LI Jewish medical center. The doctor I saw at LIJ determined the muscles in my pelvic floor were very tight and were causing me to feel like I needed to urinate. After a few physical therapy sessions, my symptoms were gone. When I told that doctor about the "treatment" I received from Toth he was shocked. He performed another PCR test and assured me I did not have chlamydia or any other type of infection. In short, Toth gave me a false diagnosis and administered weeks of painful treatment for an infection I never had. Read the other yelp reviews for this man. I wish a heve never had any contact with him. He distroyed my healthy body . I hade severe yeast infections for years, my vagina is so dry that I do not even want to think about an intercourse. Since then I have frequent urination,and my whole digestiv system is destroyed. I came to see Dr. Attila Toth after I had done an extensive research on the web. According to some reviews, he is a "king of antibiotics", "inventor of revolutionary approach to infertility treatment", and "an exceptional person." His services and test cost at least 20K for a couple. I first set up the phone consultation. It costs 375$ for an hour. The conversation with Dr. Toth left me with a weird, better say, an unpleasant feeling. The guy sounded extremely arrogant and inconsiderate. He was talking without a break the whole hour, and when I tried to put a word, he said: "Your time is over, I have other things to do." This was it. I decided to try again. This time I made an appointment in his office. I flew from Washington to NYC. He looked and sounded wacky. Very bourgeois, self-obsessed, with terrible bedside manners, on the one hand. Very convincing and optimistic about outcome of the treatment, on the other hand. Most of the time during consultation he was asking senseless, unceremonious questions. Then he proposed to have culture study and a sonogram. I agreed. It cost me $ 1 815. In the end he said: "You should not be worried anymore. I'll take care of everything. I'll cure you." Well... I came back home very encouraged, and convinced my husband to have all tests as well. He did so. It cost him $ 1 815 ($ 3 630 for both). After 4 weeks of wait, we got an email from Dr. Toth with culture study results. He found chlamydia, which was never found before and after by other OBGYNs. The final words were: "My advice to both of you would be to contact your LOCAL gynecologist and urologist respectively and request proper therapy for this infectious condition." What??? I called back and asked whether he wants to work with us. I've already changed my plans for the next month so that to spend two weeks in NYC for treatment at Dr Toth office. It turned out that doctor had changed his mind afterward, and would NOT have us as patients. My question to him was if he could recommend any other doctor who would work with his test results. The answer was "NO." He sounded very rude and annoyed. As I said, no other doctor have found chlamydia afterwards. It means the following: (1) Dr. Toth, most probably, falsificated results; (2) we wasted our money and time; (3) this guy prefers to deal with rich people, we didn't belong to his "target audience"; (4) he is is a dishonest, irresponsible and unreliable person. The other reviews are spot on. Spend a fortune, endure ridiculous pain and discomfort for weeks, and not only show 0 positive results - but took a huge leap backwards with respect to fertility. My wife hasn't been the same since and the treatment had serious detrimental effects on our fertility. And Yes, beware the phantom chlamydia findings. Yes, same experience here as the other reviewer. That's always an interesting conversation to have with your significant other. Never once had my wife or I been diagnosed but somehow Dr. Toth found some odd strain. Sort of makes you feel good that you may be on the road to recovery that you may have killed some bacteria, but if it doesn't really exist - its just a scam. I have to disagree with the negative comments about Dr. Attila Toth...i know him over 20 years..and after having many miscarriages with other doctors'....Dr.Toth helped me get pregnant and delivered my daughter 27 years ago. Dr.Toth also helped many of my friends who still keep in touch with him. Also, he is not only interested in money and insurance...like many or should I say most doctors in NYC..he does not take insurance.He genuinely cares about his patients.. I read Iris and Ira's one star reviews and I am shocked. I traveled to NYC from South Florida to see Dr Toth because my cousin is also his patient. My cousin believed Dr Toth could help me have a child after IVF attempts I tried with my husband had failed. I called the office and asked them if he would take an older patient as I am in my mid to late 40s. HIs answer was and still is, "Age is the last thing I consider when we discuss your fertility." EVERY OTHER DOCTOR always starts off very negative and causes me to stress out completely before we even begin. It almost is like other doctors chastise me for even considering it. I had my Florida hormone blood work sent in for him to review which supported that I have not entered menopause and I am indeed still fertile. Upon arrival, he came out to the lobby and greeted me. His staff was very helpful and very friendly. Before the exam he asked me a hundred questions, and just like my work when I need info from a client and I must direct them and cut off explanations to get it all done in time, he did the same to me, but I understand he is a doctor and scientist and he is looking for answers and clues to my body. In the middle of all the questions about topics most people balk at, he cracked some jokes to make me smile and we laughed. He made the whole ordeal bearable. He made me no promises. He examined me with respect and information the likes of which I have not been treated by any other obgyn ever. He turned the ultrasound screen so I could see it as he explained to me what he was looking at. He said I have one ovary with plenty of eggs and the other not so much. And, he showed me what he believes to be a big hindrance in my fertility and told me what we can do about it. He also did my annual exam and he was extremely thorough to look for lumps and swellings from the glands in my neck and behind my ears to my armpits and all of my breasts and he did not rush through it and refer me to a mammogram as other doctors have all done. After the exam, he took me back into his office and went over the pictures of the sonogram and again explained to me what he can do. No other doctor has ever considered the things he considers in fertility and in just a simple annual exam. Why all other doctors fail to do necessary testing or dismiss things blatantly infront of their faces and pass us women off to mammograms I will never understand. The way I see Dr Toth's methodology is that he works to get the reproductive system as close to perfect as possible to support a healthy baby. And, in my case, to have one would be a miracle at my age and if I don't get one, at least besting my health will only bolster me against any cancer or illness in my female system which affect too many women. I hope other patients will choose to inform the public what really can be done by Dr Toth which is NOT being done by all the obgyns I and my friends have ever experienced. Toth is a nice old man, with a funny mustache and a bit of humor. He is also rude, condescending, unhelpful, extremely obnoxious and unapproachable. Especially after he asks what you do and learns you don't have all that much money. He then sends a nice letter saying that we have different "medical philosophy" and I better look for another (read: cheaper) doctor. Nice going. I saw Dr. Toth about 2 yrs ago. I did his full treatment & regret it. Now antibiotics maek me sick. He does not explain the risks of his treatment to you. He told me & my husband we have chlamydia. He tells almost everyone that they have chlamydia it seems. He talks alot, especially how he will help you but he does not tell you the horrible side effects that you can experience after doing his antibiotic treatment. I became very ill. when that happened he ignored my pleas for help. He hung up on me & had the nerve to tell me at one point to take more antibiotics even after I was sent to the Emergency Room. This man preys on weak women who feel hopless and want a child. He does not warn you of the side effects and how it can actually kill you. Even after 25 years I feel I need to write a review about Dr Toth, especially after reading some negative reviews! If it weren't for Dr Attila Toth we would not have had two healthy children! After having had several miscarriages we finally came in contact with dr Toth. Exttremely pleasant, with very good bedside manners and most comforting. We had our first appointment with Dr Toth in september 1987 and a little more than a year later our daughter was born. During the pregnancy I was so frightened that whenever I wished and called his office in panic, I could come in for an ultrasound. After my daughter's birth we moved to Baltimore and there I became pregnant with my second child. I called him several times when I panicked, he was helpful and pleasant from a distance and again I delivered a healthy boy. Two children within two years after having tried for six years with several miscarriages. So that it may help searching desperate couples who want babies. Dr Attila Toth will take you on as a patient if you can afford his treatment. My husband and I went to see him. He was nice but at times his humor was off color and rude. He told us his treatments are safe. We went for treatment and I ended up in the hospital twice. He ignored my calls & emails. Other patients of his who told me he also ignored them if the treatment did not go well. This Doctor is a scam artist and his treatments are dangerous. One womens husbands sperm count diminished after treatment! He is experimenting on patients and only cares for you if you do well on his high doses of antibiotics which most doctors say are dangerou. Please ignore the negative reviews here. Dr Toth is an amazing and kind doctor who truly cares. He addresses the source of the infertility problem instead of treating the symptoms. Our 1st child was conceived after 5 painful and stressful (bordering depression), heavy-duty IVF cycles and "chemical" pregnancies at one of the best infertility clinic in NYC and they could not explain our infertility and inability to get pregnant the first four attempts. They told us my wife had one blocked fallopian tube and the other one's opening was "facing the wrong way", so it was impossible for her to conceive naturally. Couple of years later (my wife was 37 and I was 38 years of age) we decided to try for our 2nd child, but luckily this time we found out about Dr Toth from a coworker whose wife got pregnant with the help of Dr Toth, and that coworker in turn learned about Dr Toth from another happy family. Our experience with Dr Toth was very pleasant and four months after completing antibiotic treatment (both of us) with Dr Toth - my wife was pregnant with our 2nd child - 100% naturally. That is with a previous diagnosis of "blocked" fallopian tubes!!! Now we have a very active, happy and healthy 4-year-old boy. He doesn't get sick as often and as severe as our daughter had when she was his age and he recovers sooner. And of course the conventional STD tests that we've both had done multiple times in the past didn't detect any Chlamydia and Dr Toth had found C.T. and three other infections. And if you do a more thorough research - you will understand why. Before going for the initial appointment with Dr Toth - I strongly recommend reading his books (one is available to read for free on his website: http://www.fertilitysolution.com) and after that - you can do your own research online to confirm the findings in his book. Especially the "skeptical husbands" should do that reading and research, but ideally both partners should. Do research on mutating Chlamydia and different strains of it and different types of testing - "A variant of Chlamydia trachomatis that had escaped detection by commonly used systems was discovered in Sweden in 2006", for example. Yes, Dr Toth might be very busy (trying to help more couples get pregnant) and at times he does most of the talking, but if you come informed and prepared instead of skeptical - he should be able to help you. In some rare cases you might still need an IVF or infertility treatment after the antibiotic treatment, but having your child conceived and born in bacteria-free environment has huge consequences for you and your child's future well-being as well. Not true. We are a middle class family, we rent an apartment in Queens, NY and our salaries in New York, already raising one child at the time, didn't go that far. Still, we were able to afford Dr Toth's treatment, and considering getting pregnant naturally and quickly, conceiving and giving birth in bacteria-free environment, without dangerous hormone stimulation, and our child's current and future well-being and his future fertility (yes, read the book) - this was the best money we've ever spent. In addition - not for a second we felt that Dr Toth is doing this for the money. He provides an invaluable service. As far as comparing the cost of one antibiotic treatment by Dr Toth to five IVF cycles at another clinic - for us - it ended up slightly more expensive, but again - we are not comparing apples to apples here. Conventional infertility treatment cost for us, with health insurance, was: $6,000 (25% co-pays) for three egg extraction procedures, $2,500 out-of pocket for five anesthesias $ freezing and storing embryos $ numerous co-payments for office visits $ co-payments for tons of Rx prescriptions, and some drugs were considered experimental and not covered. $ on the 5th and last cycle - we've done acupuncture for my wife and even brought the acupuncture specialist to the infertility clinic for the treatment before the embryo implant procedure (look it up - there are statistics showing that it helps). Total - probably around 10-11K out-of-pocket with stress, suffering, crazy hormone stimulation and even some experimental drugs. We've paid around $18,000 total at Dr Toth, but his office assistants prepared the paperwork with special codes that we've submit to our insurance and with some luck and persistence and depending on your insurance, you might be able to recover a quarter or a third. I believe we've recovered about 25%, so the net expense for us was probably around 13.5K. Good luck and I hope Dr Toth doesn't retire soon... read more

I went to see Dr. Toth & did his full treatment. He did not warn me or my husband that we could get serioulsy ill from the amount of anti-biotics he prescribed us and that our bodies could eventually become resistant to the antibiotics he prescribed us. Only until after I became seriously ill and begged Dr Toth to speak with me did he admit that there are serious risks invovled. Dr. Toth is interested in money. EVERYONE who sees him mysteriously ALL have chlamydia when other Dr's they went to never found that STD. He also NEVER tests to see if you are healthy enough to withstand the antibiotics. Also, if his treatment doesn't work the 1st time, he says you still have bugs and you need to take more antibiotics, without re-testing you. His people do not help you getting money from your insurance company. They are rude and disrespectful. Avoid Dr. Toth if you can. Also, there are no clear statistics that his treatment works.
