This review is for the ski school only. Do not spend your money on lessons here for children, especially when there are so many other wonderful (not Vail-owned) options in the area. While I'm sure there are some fine instructors on staff here and at Wildcat, our multi-family group has taken our kids to these mountains now two years in a row, and had repeatedly horrible experiences. We kept thinking it was just a poor match or bad luck, and thought we'd give it another try this winter. Unfortunately both mountains let us down, with two different older, male instructors who clearly are working just for employee benefits and do not have the patience or proper training to work well with kids. In our most recent experience at Attitash, all 3 kids (not tiny ones, mind you - ranging in age from 8 to 12, each with prior skiing and lesson experience) were in tears by mid lesson. The instructor was excessively gruff and curt, and angry with his employer for how they schedule lessons - which he apparently decided to take out on his students. When we had to intervene, he graced us with a monologue about his alleged experience with kids on the autism spectrum - apparently to claim what a sensitive and wonderful teacher he is, and that our childrens' "special needs" must simply be off the charts. This assessment is not only clinically inaccurate, but an absolutely unacceptable excuse for his failure as an instructor. If you want your kids to fall in love with skiing/riding, take them to lessons at any other resort in the area - it's too much of a gamble that you'll end up with one of these guys at Attitash or Wildcat. read more

This place has come a long way from just a few years ago. I've read the pejorative comments about their service, and although we did experience a lack of customer service, such was not the case today. We got here about 1030 AM. From previous experience, we parked at the Bear Lodge parking lot. Their Covid-19 protocols were in force and we were thankful to the staff for them. That continued with minor exceptions, for the entire day. We absolutely love the Bear Peak Lodge area to start the day at Attitash. For starters, the parking area is closer to the lodge. If you arrive early enough, you can park just feet away from the lodge. Even if you arrive later, it's a short walk. The Lodge is one large, functional building with everything within, from support functions to cafeteria, bar and restrooms. From there, it's a level and short walk to the Bear Peak Quad, whisking you to the top with little delay. From there, wonderfully long Blue cruisers and numerous glades are available on the Bear Peak side. As well, several challenging and a few absolutely enjoyable black diamond runs. It is worth noting that although slow, the Abenaki Quad is a nice alternative if one finds themselves on the runs in the Eastern edge of Bear Peak, towards the Attitash Peak. It's a convenient way to get up the mountain without schlepping it on the Bearback trail. From the Bear Peak, the access to Attitash Peak is an easy route, although a bit level in some places. The Summit Triple takes you all the way to the top with amazing - truly spectacular views. However, they're overdue in replacing it. You could read three chapters of Anna Karenina while on the lift. It is exasperatingly slow. The Flying Yankee quad is way faster but it only covers the lower half of the mountain. Although Attitash Peak has the best and most challenging trails, it nonetheless suffers from outdated and some times frustrating infrastructure. Overall, Attitash is well worth a visit. The terrain, views, staff, grooming, glades, and overall experience makes this Vail resort a little gem in the collection. read more

This review is reflective of skiing at the mountain and not the Grand Summit Hotel. I went skiing for a weekend in March and the first day was incredibly icy. Beyond words. The Bear Peak side was not enjoyable to ski and had borderline dangerous conditions. I hadn't been to this resort in two years, since Vail took over the property, and the management and grooming are disappointing at best, negligent at worst. We had to take Wandering Skis to get back to the Hotel. It had a tree branch and sheets of ice on day one, and there was still a sheet of ice on the steeps there on day two despite getting a couple of inches of powder. Zero effort on grooming. Another problem is the resort not running enough lifts. On a Saturday, they had the summit chair closed for a wind hold and were only running one of their two double chairs because, "they both go to the same place." If you are staffed to run a certain amount of lifts, and lines are piling up with the summit chair closed, why not reallocate resources and open another one? Management does not seem to mind if people are waiting in unnecessary lines. The lift lines were 20 minutes long and the double chair took another ten to get to the top. Not good. The Bear Peak side had only two lifts running. The terrain is varied and the scenery is beautiful. Mother Nature stepped in on Sunday to bring us fresh snow squalls, and so conditions were naturally much better. The summit chair was open on Sunday and those runs were amazing. Lift lines were considerably shorter. Wandering Skis on Bear Peak remained an icy mess and gave us a hazardous run back to the hotel. I will look at other options for a ski weekend with my boys next year. It's a shame because there is so much potential here and the hotel is great for a family stay - outdoor pool, hot tubs, rooms with kitchens, ski in/out, and a great staff. read more

Attitash and Bear Peak is definitely my personal favorite mountains the trails are fast and challenging. There terrain park looks like something you would see on the Xgames huge features with plenty of rails. Only bad things that I have to mention is the lift to the top of the mountain is slow and out dated and if your a beginner or some that only like novice trails there is not many to choice from and the ones that they do have are short. read more

If you go late in the season when there's only one small green hill, that hill is not for beginners. My family and I had read a review that said this same thing before we went and dismissed it, but they were right. The green hills on the right side are far too steep for new beginners, I was falling multiple times everytime I went down. I assume the green hills that were closed when we went are more to the beginners, but I could not say. Overall, the skiing was okay but there wasn't a lot of comfortable observing areas for people not skiing. read more

90% ice on December 31. Ice = terrible experience on bunny hill that almost is possibly the conclusion to our friends skiing for life. They should have warned us not to put a 'never-ever' on the bunny hill that day. Paid $100+ to take the lift up, slide around, and ride the same lift back down. Also they were out of her size rental boots so that probably didn't help either. Did they warn us it had rained two days prior and turned the entire surface to ice... No. Unfair to do that to a complete beginner skier that had just flown in from Texas. BTW BrettonWoods & Stowe bunny hills were not ice so that's why we did not ask. read more

My young son wanted to reach the top of the mountain when he saw the ski lifts while driving through New Hampshire! We decided to see the grand view of the white mountains without snow so off we go. The staff at the ski chairs were very friendly and asked us about my sons Big Sky, Montana shirt & experience! They were fun! The ride up was peaceful. So great to be on a ski lift in summer but I was also nervous about not falling over. Once reaching the top, we took in the scenic views and humbled by nature's beauty. The staff at the ski lifts above the mountain was also friendly and always careful and shared with us information about the mountain. The only thing I thought was not as exciting were the ticketing staff as they were just interested in making sure we sign the waivers, even though the paperwork had a mistake on them, as I tested them, they did not even catch it. They only cared that they are not responsible for anything bad that may happen to you. Maybe because the ticketing staff just do not pay attention to detail. Nevertheless that just made me feel they just want their money & make sure if something bad happens to you up there while you are responsibly complying to rules, that you waive all rights. I did not like that. But the 4 stars is for the staff in the ski lift chairs below and above (but not for the ticketing staff). read more

I am disappointed in a place I grew up skiing at. My children were looking forward to spending their vacation week skiing. They enrolled in lessons and they were great! But after we planned to ski as a family all over the mountain. The triple chair that goes to the top was down having repairs. Apparently it's been down for a while. I bought the tickets in advance so there was nothing we could do. But essentially a good portion of the mountain was closed. I am disappointed that there was no discount or vouchers offered since we didn't feel like we got our money's worth. Been skiing here regularly for last 5 years. Something bad has happened to a once decent place. Snow conditions were fair and not too many people, but because they refused to open enough lifts, the lines were really long. Found out they intentionally didn't post that the summit lift had been broken for a week. Add to that, the lift line "attendants" had zero idea on how to run a line. It was chaos. And if you asked them a question they blew you off. Either they didn't speak english, or they were intentionally rude. Happened at every lift that was open. Morons. Might be our last time here. read more

Bad experience from the start. Got there and not ever being here before we didn't notice parking was across the street we ask Someone that worked there where to park she said park we said yes where do we park she pointed at the mountain. Customer service was horrible people or shall I say kids running the lifts were just as rude. We were told you can also go to wildcat as we had gotten to the mountain at 2 pm after a 4 hour drive we did a couple runs and decide to go to wildcat to find out it closes at 330 waste of time. read more

What a blast! Been coming in the winter for years but this summer adventure was super fun. We have a 7 and 4 years old which means we have to ride everything too. Awesome. Yes, it's expensive but we spent the whole day there and easily racked up 40+ rides and slides each. My biggest compliment goes to the international staff and rotating management on the property. Helpful and attentive with special tips for kids my size on the slides or helping you not fly out of the alpine slides :) read more

Went here hoping for fresh powder but it turned to rain and iced over. Was happy to see them grooming trails when we got there, but they only did about ten out of 35 that were "open". This seemed to be because it was slow and midweek and they didn't really care. For $68 dollars I expect a lot more. read more

In all fairness this was the SUMMER setup, not Winter Skiing (which is pretty good). Seemed like every scrapper in NH hits this place. Long lines, Cheesy crowd. If you work on the farm, drive a pickup truck and your family wears used biker T-shirts it's for you. Didn't do much for me ;-) read more

We've skied here for many years, but have finally decided we can't take it anymore - they are woefully behind the times in their lifts. Far too many slow, fixed grip chairlifts, including their main summit lift. No other major ski area in New Hampshire puts their customers though this. We'll be back when they join the 21st century. read more

Here's an honest review. Went to attitash 2 weekends in a row. First was a day trip...while at the thr the main lift was down so we couldn't ski the top of the mountain. The staff literally knew nothing about what chairs were open or closed or even how to get places. Took my family back the following weekend. ( meeting a friend only reason for return) Stayed at the summit (room was clean and nice). Free breakfast was included was inedible... the plates had dried old food on them, at least 2 that I grabbed & unless you like your scrambled egg buffet wet and watery and expect quality food then skip the free breakfast . The first day of skiing again the main lift was down for hours. But made the best of it for $85.00.(only option was a voucher after driving 2 hours no refund or reduction in price ) Day two the entire bear peak side was closed for the first 2-3 hours of the day again $85.00 (again no reduction in price ) When I asked for a refund I was told absolutely not and no voucher could be given since it took me over an hour to get my 2 children squared away...During the time I was inside my brand new ski poles and helmet were stolen off of my skis I left on a hill side stand which has never happened anywhere else I was so frustrated, I then went to file report and only then thy offered a voucher . If your going to charge top dollar for your hotel 1 bed unit 3-400 PN plus lift tickets$85 then spend some money repairing your lifts and invest in better food. Who steals ski poles / helmet off of someones ski's (POS) Spent a weekend at Sunday river and the over all experience and value was much much better. Same size room with lift ticket included 3-400 way better food, lifts and skiing. Attitash needs to take a good look at the competition and revaluate it pricing if your not going to invest in the property then lower the price so we can lower our expectations. read more
