Ordered an "Identity Crisis" - a Rueben with pastrami and coleslaw also in grilled rye. I got the 12 oz to share. This is a good sandwich. The meat is quality, flavor and texture very good. Kraut and coleslaw very good. That said, it's outrageous that they charge as much as Katz's Deli in NYC ($30) selling out of an industrial space in Rockville. At this price it's a once or twice a year treat. 20% cheaper and I'd go twice a month. read more

It is top of the line deli food. The corn beef, pastrami and brisket are excellent. I grew up in Cleveland where Deli's were highly competitive in quality of the sandwiches. The cute name does not make this place what you may want it to be. If you want to pay $55 for two sandwiches, two sodas, and about 15 french fries each and order it from - basically - a storage unit in an industrial park, then this is your place. This is NOT a restaurant. There are four chairs inside for people waiting for their sandwiches, and two picnic tables outside - that's it. My main objection is the too-high prices with the storage unit location. A person can get good deli style sandwiches elsewhere in Montgomery County from a place that actually wants to pay rent on a restaurant with heating and seating. This place was great! One of the best rueben's I've ever had. It wasn't dry at all and the flavor was amazing. There are a lot of sides to choose with the combo which is awesome! Corned Beef King has moved sometime ago, and we finally got around to visit. I placed an order for pickup on my phone and it was very simple (paid via ApplePay as well) and the order was ready in 20 minutes (as the confirmation email advised it would be). My husband was told the order was double-checked and when we got home, nothing was missing and the food was still fairly warm! I enjoyed my Matzoh Ball soup even more than I thought I would. The ball kept its texture and the soup was loaded with shredded chicken, carrots, and celery, all cooked to perfection. Since I had my soup first, I needed to warm up my knish in the air fryer for a bit, and it was simply heavenly. The knish was loaded with meat. My husband and I also split the Corned Beef on Baguette with slaw sandwich. I like that the baguette was given as an option if someone would prefer it over rye bread (I wanted to try something different so we went the baguette route). It was very good, great cuts of meat, and the bread really held its own. It did not fall apart. I appreciated that the pickle was wrapped separately, but still next to the sandwich and the added kraut (free) took the flavor profile to another level. This was pricey for lunch, but we were full and full of quality food. It left my husband wondering where CBK purchase such great meat! The only thing I'd love to see is for CBK to use compostable containers/materials rather than plastic and styrofoam, and I hope they can consider that in the future! read more

My coworkers recommended this place because I just can't find a good corned beef sandwich in Rockville. I gave them a try for lunch and it wasn't bad. This is their brick and mortar location in Rockville. Can't say enough good things about this place.... The staff is very friendly and their corned beef and pastrami sandwiches are amazing. The location is nice too.... If you choose to eat there, there's a couple of tables under their overhang and they have some picnic tables on the outside. Tucked inconspicuously inside of Liberty Gas Station is where some of the best sandwiches in the area appear to be constructed. I ordered the "Identity Crisis", which was combination pastrami, coleslaw and corned beef -$14. Well worth the expense. Comes with a pickle spear wrapped in foil too placed inside the plastic sandwich container. I changed the bread to an Italian sub roll since RYE and me don't really vibe all that well together. I sampled a plain Reuben + the beef stew and the chili also. Flavorful. The lady at the counter was very friendly and willing to share samples easily. She handed me a plastic spoon/small sauce cup and let me try different things. The sandwiches are NYC Jewish Deli quality almost. Since there's no Katz's Deli here and Krupin's went under years ago, this is the DC area's next best thing. Such terrific sandwiches at an unassuming deli counter inside of a gas station? Ordered a bunch of sandwiches to go and within the first bite of my Reuben sandwich, I was in love. The taste was better than any Reuben I've ever had, and I'm a little embarrassed to say, I gobbled it up within five minutes! I also ordered a side of potato salad and let me tell you, when I say I love potato salad, I mean the kind they make here! One day i had a big craving for a delicious reuben or pastrami sandwich! I came across this place and thought id check it out. When i got there, noticed masks weren't appropriately practiced. We got the identity crisis and pastrami sandwich, and didnt think too much of it. The sandwich did not really stand out to me. The identity crisis was pretty thick however the pastrami was a lot thinner, however both are the same price. There was also an incident between staff, where a sandwich was thrown away and taken out to the dumpster. By the context observed, a staff went outside and then appeared with a sandwich, it was safe to assume they had gone to get it from the trash. Which is where i lost my appetite and was thrown off. I just hope they were saving it for themself and not to be served. Cleanliness is important to me, and this place was far from it. Will not recommend! read more

A friend who works in Rockville, Md. who knows I love good, hearty, messy sandwiches recommended Corned Beef King. When I found out it was located in a gas station, I decided I needed to visit, I am not afraid of great food from gas stations. Tried samples of their food at a yelp event a few months ago and decided to check this place out. It's located inside a gas station so drive carefully when looking for it. The cashier greeted us and told us about their awesome sandwiches. I went with the Milly Ann and got it king sized so the portions were pretty good. The corned beef tasted amazing, and the coleslaw/Russian dressing definitely helped the flavor. I also got the horseradish sauce on the side and it was also very good. I might just tell them to sub the horseradish sauce next time for the Russian dressing. I wish it came with chips for the price point but oh well. First time here, I think the corned beef is very soft and light in texture. There's no doubt this sandwich is tasty. If I were to go again, I would order the Rueben or the identity crisis. I was so disappointed when they left around my area (Olney) and moved to Rockville. A little bit of a drive than before but it's worth the drive. They're still located inside a gas station, only it's with Liberty rather than Exxon. Upon arrival, I got the O Jonnys which is a sub sandwich on focaccia bread smothered with their horseradish sauce layered with their tender, juicy, and succulent primed brisket. Now I wasn't expecting nor prepared for the brisket to be so tender for the fact that the cut was thick (from bad experiences). But when I bit into that sandwich, it was everything I wasn't expecting. A nice, soft, crispy bun coupled with that flavor packed brisket. Add in a fried onion ring for a satisfying crunch with sautéed onions and melted Swiss cheese. Yum! Definitely place to stop by and try their sandwich. read more

I would have given this 5 stars as the corned beef and the pastrami is excellent. With that said - do not waste you calories on the knish. It's gross and not at all what you want or need out of a knish. If you don't know what a knish is - well this might be great for you but this is simply not a knish. It's puff pastry filled with chunky potato and corned beef hash and maybe some other things . It was greasy and mushy and gross. The sandwich was by far the star of this show. It too was a bit more greasy thank I'd prefer and could use some better rye bread. Still the meat was great. This is in a gas station convenience store. Grab and go is your best bet. read more

OK, I've wanted to grab a sandwich from these guys for a long time and today was the day! They did not disappoint. The corned beef was plentiful and amazing. This sandwich had the right amount of everything that a Ruben is supposed to be. I had it delivered to my house and because it's a hot sandwich the container that it was delivered in steamed up the bread a bit and made it a little moist. That's on me.
