Ovengold Roast Turkey Breast Sub - Large split in 2
    Mimi W.

Went for a quick late lunch and the place was empty. I liked the ambiance, nice and new and clean. Decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of selections of cold and hot subs with choice of 3 different breads, as well as some hot entrees and desserts. Had a turkey sub with Italian bread with sesame seeds. The bread didn't have the golden brown toast like the website, but was crispy on the outside and soft in the inside - I enjoyed the texture, but it did scratch up my gums. The sub didn't have any condiments like mayo and mustard and was pretty dry, guess you have to ask for it. The turkey itself was also dry. A very average sub. For $18 for a large sub (about a foot long) and $14 for a small, the value wasn't there. I might go back and try some other subs.

Sadly, disappointed. They had a team behind the counter just standing around. One cashier. One of serve kiosk that wasn't working properly. And when you ask for assistance, you're meet with deer in headlights. Then the cashier proceeds to take the person behind you instead. Everyone inside waiting for orders. I gave up.

I'm eating all lettuce and bread right now. They cheap out on the meat.

Ordered DoorDash a few times and they never include the free side items I requested on the side. They also skip on the meat. Paying for the extra Philly steak meat is like getting a standard size. This will probably be our last time ordering from Capo. We've been very disappointed multiple times now.

Well, we were back in DC visiting family for the Holiday, and before we headed back to Philly, we…read moremade, what's becoming our 'usual' destination for lunch. I ordered the Maryland-Style Crisfield Stew. Let's start with what this is - Fish Stew - commonly known as Cioppino. We were in SF last Aug - in one week, I had Cioppino at 4 different restaurants. Yes, I have an obsession with the dish. What's important here is 'Maryland-Style' - having lived in MD for several decades, I had more than my fair share of Maryland Style Crab Soup. A tomato based soup, loaded with fresh crab, and an underlying mild spice, it's very good - not the depth of the broths in SF (ex. Scoma's), but tasty. This was Clyde's - it was very tasty, served hot, which is important for fish stew, and it wasn't too spicy. The star of the dish, of course, was the sizable portion of crab, shrimp, mussels, oysters, and cod. See the attached picture-it's a large bowl filled to the brim. I let the two pieces of grilled bread soak into the stew and devoured them with the fish! I want to be sure to point something out - I asked to have additional broth, if possible, added to the stew, and they were nice enough to oblige! While those stews in SF are in a class by themselves, Clyde's is as good as any I've had on the East Coast. My partner ordered the Fried Chicken Rice Bowl. We're both lovers of fried chicken. Clyde's cuts up chicken breasts into squares, tosses them in a honey-sriracha mix and deep fries them. The chicken was delicious, combined with the rice, apples, cucumbers and scallions - it was a good bowl. Last, was the dessert - Key Lime Pie. My standard for this 'pie is very high'. I had Key Lime Pie at Joe's Stone Crabs in FL several times - that's my gold standard. This pie fell quite short - not that richness I look for that's offset by the tartness of the lime. However, we both really needed to have dessert (for reasons unknown) and we're glad we got the pie!

So, this experience was even more disheartening. Today, I found out that we were overcharged for two of our meals. I called and asked to speak to the manager, but he wasn't in. This is our nightmare lunch. First, we waited about 15 minutes for our drinks. When, our waitress was about to disappear again, I asked her to take our order. My granddaughter has severe food allergies and is diabetic. So, we had to order special items. Normally, Clyde's is very good about honoring special needs with food preparation. We waited 30- 45 minutes for our meal and then, we were told that they were out of my granddaughter's birria tacos. If they didn't have her food, we should have been alerted 5 minutes after we ordered, not 35 minutes later. So, my granddaughter ordered wings. We had ordered French fries as an appetizer and they never made it to the table either. So,after asking for a 3rd time they finally put our order of French fries into the kitchen. That took additional time, but finally made it to the table. They were delicious! It took another half hour for our food to come out. At that point, we had been waiting for an hour and a half for lunch. The salads and my granddaughter's wings were mediocre at best. But, I was charged an additional $13 to add chicken to a Caesar salad. But, two hours for lunch, being overcharged and extremely bad service.... This is not the Clyde's I am used to and have written previous glowing reviews. I hope the management sees this review and takes steps to correct the problems. Especially, the server who was not trained and did not do her job properly. I am so disappointed!

I finally tried their brunch items on Mother's Day this year. My family enjoyed their breakfast burrito, burger with shoe string fries, and Cobb salad. The burrito was packed with eggs, chorizo, and all the fun sauces, making each bite flavorful and filling. I was pretty full after eating just half of it, and it came with a side of breakfast potatoes too. My only complaint about my experience here was that my entree came out 10 minutes before my dad's burger did. I know it w an be hard to time for all dishes to be ready at the same time, but I would have preferred for them to keep my entree on a heating plate rather than delivering it when it was ready. Overall, the restaurant offers traditional American items, with a slight spin. I am curious about their fried bacon sticks are about. The Grove compares to Ted's Bulletin in terms of ambiance, price, food options, and quality.

An hour later we regretted the decision. A breakfast burrito shouldn't take an hour to be made and the beauty of an open kitchen is that you can literally see the moment the chefs realize there's an empty spot on their griddle where a burrito should have been. I'm giving three stars because of the fact that the staff were probably exhausted from a brunch party that was ending; but what happened to the good ol days where bar staff were attentive and offered assurance rather than essentially ignoring our existence until we reminded them that we're not just keeping the seat warm while watching ice melt in our expensive drinks. The kicker... The burrito wasn't even hot when it arrived! The more I think about it, the more upsetting it is because I hate giving bad reviews. After second thought, I'm giving it two stars for the lack of accountability, service, and quality of food. We've gotten better service from plenty of places that were way more crowded and busy.

Some of the servers are super great, and some are not so much. When a burger without certain ingredients was ordered, one waiter rudely said "then what do you want on the burger" however, the burger still had plenty of ingredients listed, that the person ordering didn't ask to be left off. It's difficult to order a plain burger with the only burger on the menu has bacon and cheese. The food is standard fare. Burgers, sandwiches, salads. The chef pays attention to allergens. I've tried the shrimp roll, the Caesar salad, and the turkey club. All of these can be made gluten free, although the menu doesn't denote it. Another in my party enjoyed the shrimp tacos and the burger. Being inside the Marriott, it is a little overpriced, but the food is good, just hit or miss with service. Great for a quick bite if you're staying in the Marriott.

The wings were of good size and all cooked appropriately which was nice to see. Blackberry Habanero Wings - This was definitely my favorite sauce tried. It had a good balance of sweet and spicy, very solid. Quincy's Sauce Wings - These were okay. I believe this was a mix of BBQ and buffalo or some similar combination. They were a little plain. Garlic Parmesan Wings - This was a dry rub and there needed to be more of a garlic flavoring. There was a good amount of parmesan, but not enough of a garlic presence to balance it out. Chesapeake Honey Lime - This was definitely a unique pairing with the old bay and honey lime, which worked out well. Korean BBQ - These had more of a kick than I was expecting. There was a hint of sweetness, but good. Buffalo - This was a traditional sauce done right. I just wanted more sauce present on this set. Chicken Quesadilla - These were filled well and the chicken was seasoned nicely. I liked the pepper presence for a slight crisp factor. Cheesesteak Egg Rolls - These came with a spicy mayo which was a nice touch. The steak was liked, but the actual egg roll needed to be cooked a little longer as it was not too crispy.

My black and blue burger was kinda meh. Seemed to be smaller than usual and not a fan of the bread; this was never an issue before. I also decided to get a side salad, but it wasn't good at all. Didn't seem too fresh and a pretty small portion; should have gotten the tots which is usually what I get. I'd return b/c it could have been an off night; the food is usually pretty good.
