I ordered a small cheesesteak on seeded Italian bread. There was one customer in front of me who ordered a sandwich, but it still took 10+ minutes for mine to come out. 10 minutes isn't a crazy long wait or anything, but I was surprised since it was peak lunch time and the restaurant was empty. My actual review of the cheesesteak aligns with what I've seen on other reviews. The subs and sandwiches are extremely thin, with very little meat and cheese. The bread didn't have the golden brown toast like the website, but was crispy on the outside and soft in the inside - I enjoyed the texture, but it did scratch up my gums. The sub didn't have any condiments like mayo and mustard and was pretty dry, guess you have to ask for it. The turkey itself was also dry. A very average sub. My wife and I love the food at Capo and love the ability to really customize the sandwiches (the seeded Italian bread is great) which is mostly what we get. However, they are incredibly inconsistent with both the service and food which just becomes more and more frustrating over time as we go once a month or so. Sometimes you have to wait 20 minutes longer than anticipated for your food. Sometimes you order extra cheese and there is no extra cheese. Sometimes you get the chicken parm sandwich and the sauce is all in the middle of the bread. Sometimes you order extra marinara on the side and you get home and it's not in the bag. And maybe 50% of the time, everything is fine. You get the idea. In addition to this, they have raised prices and started charging for some of the extras they used to give at no additional charge (like hot peppers). I don't have a problem with the increased prices specifically, but combined with the service/consistency issue, I think we'll find another place to get sandwiches for a while, but I must admit, it's disappointing, because Capo is so close and I really do love their sandwiches/food when I can get them in a timely manner they way I ordered them. read more

We've only ordered delivery from Capo Deli and overall our experience has been good. My husband and I love the Capo Special, and he said that the chicken parmigiano is also really great. Some of the best things here are how thin they slice their deli meats and of course their amazing Italian seeded bread. I think the first time we got sandwiches here they were truly perfection, the best Italian deli sandwiches we'd ordered since moving here. However, by the third time it was almost as if the deli meats had been sliced SO thin that they had congealed back into their non-sliced form and we felt like we were getting mouthfuls of the Italian deli blocks of meat, which considering how generous their portions are was a bit too much. So overall everything is delicious but there are just some minor issues with consistency; however, we will keep ordering from here! read more

I've seen this place featured in a few articles and decided to give it a whirl on a beautiful, warm Spring day while my dog was groomed a few miles away. I had been meaning to give this place a shot for a few weeks now. I figured I'd get the Italian - which I believe is their flagship sandwich. I chose the seeded bread before I plopped myself down in front of the storefront window and waited no more than 10 minutes. I have to say, I don't really see what the fuss was about. First few bites, I could tell It was the most ultra mid sub I think I've had in a long time. The bread was a bit harder than I expected and I think they could have gone heavier on the meat, oil, and vinegar. This sub is something I could make better at home with just a bit of time and determination for way less than $20. And they served it on a wooden slab. I believe it has been established by now that serving things on wooden plates/slabs etc is a health risk and generally kind of gross because they can't be cleaned as thoroughly over time ... but what do I know? For what it's worth, they were out of a lot of the featured drinks too. A lot of people complained about the service. I did not have that issue. The service didn't knock my socks off anymore than the sub though. Noone came to check-in once after I got my food. For lunch time, they were not very busy. And I was the only one dining in. Not a good sign as I'm sure the rent they pay on the store is outrageous. The Cabin John shopping center they're in saw so many restaurants vanish during the pandemic. I can't see this place lasting long here even in better times. 20 bucks for a mediocre sub and drink, there's just better options. Jersey Mike's on an off day is better than this - I said what I said. If I come back I'd like to try some of their hot sandwiches but really and truly, if they can't nail something as vanilla as an Italian Sub, it's unlikely they can smash anything else. read more

Have been to this new location for Capo twice. I did not feel like the first time was a great representation of my experience since I was in a rush. The place is pretty well decorated with a pretty eclectic menu. The staff on both of my visits seemed so overwhelmed with tasks that it appeared to be a bother to stop and take my order. The deli also has a set way of making their sandwiches and "I felt" like the customizations (no onions - mayo instead of their special sauce) I requested was like I was breaking some golden rule. We ordered a few different sandwiches to share. The favorite was the cheesesteak. Lots of flavor. On the other sandwiches I felt like they were too wet - even after only 5 or 10 minutes. Ugh. I hate trying a new place and having a bad experience off the bat. Today, I ordered two subs: one Genoa salami and one roast beef. Got home, unwrapped one and it was clearly ham. Had to remove all the ham and eat the roll and fixings. It would've been acceptable if the roll wasn't so dry and I hadn't been craving salami, or you know, paid for salami. Had asked for dressing on the side for the roast beef sandwich. Any guesses as to whether they followed that direction? Its like the franchise "A-Team" (with the "Capo Car" out front) was there for the opening, and after they left it declined quickly.
