(Extending reach out to Austin, have to admit many better choices out there, but locally this is high on the list.) Ambiance is nice, they are pretty straightforward, auctions in person are easy enough to figure out. Prices are obviously based on buyer demand, but the value seems on par with other auction houses. There have been a couple occasions over the years where they were supposed to be open as per listed hours, but were not. This is relatively rare, but still notable. Recommended to call ahead if you have any doubts. Unfortunately, that is the biggest flaw here. Their customer service seems fine, but once you can establish contact. Email response is questionable. Calling works, but getting in touch with the right person to do what needs to be done can be a challenge. Much more responsive in person. Recommended in person only for the novice treasure hunters out there. Good luck!

Then finally spoked the someone and she said I can text a picture of my item to be appraised to 210-901-9042. So I did. To this day Nov 19, 2024, I am still waiting for an appraisal. I called earlier and was told the person in charge is not in.

If you need someone to painstakingly go thru house that has been lived in by one person for 60…read moreyears Mark and his team are your guys. It started out with a phone call by me to him to see if he could come by the property to decide if an estate sale was even feasible. Look, let's be real, when a parent is less than discerning about what they are randomly dumping at Goodwill and you have no say in what is being given away, when the time comes, you will wonder if what's left is all just a quick garage sale so you can move on to other pressing matters regarding that parent's life. Mark came and saw a lot of treasure (much to my surprise)! He quickly scheduled one month of toiling thru box after box, closet after closet, room after room and did an incredible amount of research on family items that were REALLY worth quite a bit. He scheduled THREE FULL weekends of estate sales, all perfectly executed, even thru some unexpected cold days. He's been doing this along time. He know his stuff and yours. But what's really special about him and his team is their listening skills. I was (and TMI, still am) extremely appreciative of the afternoons we spent combing thru the house talking about pieces and their history and his shoulder and ear to vent a bit (ok a lot) when the family drama was overwhelming. He's not fancy. But he's GOOOD. And I will take GOOOD over fancy anytime there's money involved. He'll tear down a house filled with tchotchke and spend his nights playing mental Tetris to get it all in the best possible order to make you the most money. AND HE WILL. Don't let some of those negative reviews work against him. Those are buyers who are put out because he cares about the number of people in one house at a time. I mean think about it.. how many people DO you want traipsing through your parent's house without supervision? He IS militant about the number of people shopping in a house at one time and that is important when you have valuables and or high break items. He is guarding your merchandise to make you money folks, don't get it twisted! Because of the number of items in the house, I think start to finish took a little less that two months. His clean up, collection and donation routine was really fast and complete. There were only a few pieces left that were decided early on would remain for house staging if not purchased. It was a a very good experience considering the circumstances that these contracts occur under. Mark and Javier and their team were nothing but friendly and professional and I will readily recommend them and their services to any friends who will need their services in the future.

Way overpriced items , even the junk . There was nobody waiting when I got to the estate sale ,…read morethat sez alot.

This event truly has something for everyone in the family. The rodeo action was exciting every single night, and the atmosphere is just unmatched. Beyond the performances, there's so much to enjoy, amazing food, endless shopping, and entertainment throughout the grounds. What makes it even more special is the mission behind it. The rodeo gives back millions in scholarships to the youth of Texas, which makes supporting this event even more meaningful. This year was especially enjoyable with much warmer weather and beautiful conditions , it made spending time outdoors even better. If you're looking for a fun, family-friendly event that combines tradition, entertainment, and a great cause, this is it. We'll definitely be back next year!

The good things are the $10 per vehicle parking on Gembler Rd that includes a shuttle bus to and from the grounds entrance. Also, $5 entrance fee for seniors We only visit the grounds, no shows. The bad: food is stupidly expensive. Fajita Corral - tacos are $4 - $8, nachos $13, cup of corn $7, a BBQ plate is $22!! Hijole!! Outside at the food booths: cheesesteak sandwich $12, elephant ears $12-$14 (these are freakin delicious, better than funnel cake). Water and sodas are $4-$6. Beer is stupid - I saw $12 for a 16oz beer. Can't do it. This is a sampling of prices. I don't see how families can afford to go here. Regular adult grounds admission is $15. Parking in the main lot off of Houston St. is $30! No lie. The usual array of vendors was there: fudge, kettle corn, jewelry of all types (ok, I did I buy a ring), leather goods, hats, you name it, you can probably find it. Go if you can afford the prices.
