There is no dress code, so people were able to get through with their cowboy hats and boots and buckles without problem -- great! However, I didn't feel safe when it came to firearms or knives. The venue itself is adequately staffed but I guess I'm used to the kindness of those at the Moody Center in Austin. Here, it just felt like people wanted a paycheck. The food wasn't jarring in upcharge but I didn't order anything because the Alamodome in general is just not clean. The bathrooms are a nightmare and I felt so bad for those who had to use the women's facilities. Everything seemed to have a line and the restroom line for women was tough. The actual concert was decent but to be honest, I was heavily overstimulated. I am super glad I brought my noise altering headphones because the dB went up to 97 at some points; far too loud for the seat I was in (101, row 24, seat 14). The seats were decent and, for someone with back problems, they did the job. The lighting on the stairs was also good as intoxicated people struggled to get to their seats. There's just a lot this place could improve...and that starts with entry and bathrooms. Then just turn the speakers down a bit! I really hope I never have to visit this venue again to see my favorite artists.

It features lots of carnival rides, and carney games, with real carney barkers and such! Come on! Win a giant stuffed bear! The best way to do this is to get the arm band if you're going to be riding a lot of rides (and they do have a lot of them!) I'd suggest you go to this on a weekday afternoon. It's one of the longer running events during Fiesta, so there's plenty of opportunities to hit it up. It can get a little rough after sundown on weekend nights. It's a fun trip to start here, and head west though downtown during Fiesta towards Market Square to do all the free events on the weekend of the Battle of the Flowers. Since it's a free event, it's a cool way to see a bunch of cool stuff, and do Fiesta! The food is always my favorite- stuff on a stick, and funnel cakes!

Carnival + Fiesta = THE BOMB…read more I honestly LOVE going to the Fiesta Carnival! I think this is one of the most family-friendly and affordable events during Fiesta....specially during their Dollar Night (heck yeah!). There's everything from your classic Carnival food, and never ending food-on-a-stick. I'm not a huge fan of the actual games, but there's something about the lights and the people having fun and laughing that I truly love. Another cool thing about this event, is that goes for about a week or so, which means you can go a few times during Fiesta. One pro-tip would be to purchase their wrist band, so you don't have to be paying as it goes, which can get a little annoying after a while. The Fiesta Carnival is held at the Alamodome, so I would recommend everyone to take public transportation, or Uber/Lyft.

After attending two Men's Final Fours in Arizona (where I live), my friends and I decided to travel…read moreto San Antonio to enjoy the 2025 Men's Final Four. I checked in for the 2018 games not even paying attention to the year. It would have been nice to have 2025 listed as a Yelp check-in option. Either way, since I've already checked in, I might as well review it. The four of us traveled from Arizona, Colorado, and Kentucky to enjoy the games. We entered the ticket lottery three times, and one of the times we were lucky to be selected to purchase tickets at cost. The administrative fee price covered the cost of a program (saving us $20 at the games). While the cost of hotel rooms was over $1000 per night right on the Riverwalk or Downtown, we found a nice hotel to make a vacation out of the games that was less than half the price, an actual resort and spa, and only 25 minutes away. We parked about 20 minutes away of a walk from the Alamodome though right near the Riverwalk and very close to some of the events. All in all, our planning in advance saved us quite a bit of money, and we enjoyed stopping by stores that were selling Final Four merchandise, which included half off merchandise for teams that had already lost. We each downloaded the MFinal Four app where we could easily access our tickets online, the schedule of events, guides to San Antonio, broadcast information, and future dates and sites, and information on the four teams. Each of the four teams (Florida, Houston, Duke, and Auburn) had their own events in town and team hotels along with open practice times listed in the app. My friends and I went to the Men's Final Four Fan Fest Presented by Capital One, which we got in for free by presenting our tickets to the games. This was a wonderful place to go with kids or for anyone wanting interactive activities and games along with special celebrity and athlete appearances and autograph signings. It was in the Convention Center on the Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday of the Final Four. There was then the Tip-Off Tailgate Presented by Nissan, which had tailgate parties for both men's and women's Final Four games and more basketball-themed activities and plenty of food for purchase. This was also all four days. There were also events we didn't go to including the Reese's Men's Final Four Friday and NABC College All-Star Game at the Alamodome, the Men's Final Four River Rally on Saturday on the Riverwalk, the March Madness Music Festival each on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (each day with different musical artists and sponsors for free), and a celebration on the Riverwalk after the championship game ended. The games themselves were incredible! We got three close games where the teams up at the half all went on to lost very close games. Even seats in the upper arena seemed to be good seats for seeing everything. The food options upstairs weren't as good as down below though the elevators moved quickly and the stairs weren't as bad as other years. After the Saturday games ended, there was a huge backlog where everyone trying to get past the Tower of the Americas got stuck with no one to assist. We went a different way on Monday to get back to the car and are not aware if that happened again then. Otherwise, we had a very pleasant experience, and we'd consider coming back to San Antonio for more Final Four action in the future!

It arrived in two days via UPS Urgent. Ok, so far. Never dealt with StubHub. I was apprehensive. Is the ticket really legit? I place the ticket in our gun safe until the big day. The big day arrives and I go to get the ticket out of the safe, but I can't find the combination card. I freak out looking everywhere for that damn card. Not anywhere. I'm thinking of all the lost money. Then, I think I may have written the combination into my password app. I check under 'safe'. Nope. Then I try 'gun'. Bingo, there it is, crisis averted. I truly had locked the card in the safe with the ticket. Go to the game. Expensive souvenirs and eats. I splurged for a $30 hat and three lanyards at $15 each. Had a $5 soda, a $5 water and a $6 bag of caramel corn. Sheesh. The game itself was OK, despite being pretty much a blowout. My seat was in a Plaza level and I was in the middle of a pack of Villanova fans and they are rabid. The Alamodome crowd was decidedly for Villanova. Even though your seat is decent, you still tend to watch the Jumbotron. Ha, ha. I went home to sleep. Couldn't make the 12:30am party at the Arneson.

After living in San Antonio for over 8 years I finally had a chance to make it to the Alamo Bowl…read morethis past weekend. It was a blast; the game was good, the whole atmosphere of fans was cool. I'm really glad that the Alamo Bowl is a San Antonio tradition. This year the bowl had a great TV time slot over the weekend instead of during the week where most people can't make it into town. The attendance was high sellout crowd at 64,000 plus in the Alamo Dome in the past 3 years, proving that football can be successful in San Antonio. This year marked the 17th game/year Texas Tech vs. Michigan State; Big 12 vs. Big 10. The Bowl game it self does bring some good NCAA Football to San Antonio. I really like all the tailgating, beer drinking, and action before the game it self. It's like San Antonio turns a college town for a couple of days. This was the first bowl game I have ever been to, and I am glad that I did finally make it to the Alamo Bowl. I gave the Alamo Bowl 5 stars for bringing some awesome NCAA Football action to San Antonio.

The Day of the Dead Festival in downtown San Antonio keeps getting better every year!…read more This year the festival took place all over Hemisfair park (included the new section) as well as La Villita. The festival had numerous food and beverage vendors, as well as other activations from big brands. The festival also included live music happening all across the park with the main stage at the new section of the Hemisfair. My favorite part about the festival were the giant alebrijes they had across the festival. I've always been fascinated with alebrijes so to see them in a large is really espectacular. The reason why I am giving the festival four stars instead of five is because of the altares. I was born and raised in Mexico, and grew up with altares all my life. With that being said, altares have RULES and there are things that MUST be included in order for them count as one. For example, all altares must be three levels, must have water, salt, a path with marigolds, pan de muertos, etc etc. NONE of the "altares" around the festival were even slightly close to representing a real altar that you would find in Mexico. If they are going to make a contest out of it, they should at least require for them to have the minimum requirements. Day of the Dead is a very important day for many of us, and to see it represented with such a lack of care is very disappointing. With that being said, I would still come back to the festival and would take advantage of all the free activations they have throughout the day.
