This is a converted house into a restaurant and is nothing fancy inside but don't be alarmed or put off by that. This is a seriously good place. I almost want to leave a 1-star review just to get a funny response! But unfortunately, this will be a 5-star review. I wasn't sure what to expect when I walked in, as it doesn't have that polished look most restaurants have. Instead, there's more of a relaxed, "friends house" vibe. If you can let go of any preconceived notions, you're going to walk away happy. We were greeted immediately and given the menu, ordering pad, and told to write our number down. Interesting system, but my gf and I aren't stuck in our ways and it's a very simple system, so who cares? You need to write a number down, big deal (this is directed to the reviews complaining about this..) We sat outside and about 15 minutes later the first crepe was served (I can't remember what it was, something with ham). Delicious! About ten minutes later our second crepe, strawberry and Nutella. Delicious! The crepe was crafted beautifully, there were just the right amount of fillings, all-in-all, success! The price is very reasonable. I mean, you're walking into a small business. With bills to pay, overhead, insurance, not to mention the time taken out of their lives as they wait on us and create these delicious meals. I don't get how anyone can leave a review saying this place is expensive. Yes, they serve on paper plates, big deal. How entitled are we? You can't handle a crepe on a paper plate? Let me start with saying I did take my order to go so that could have an impact on my review of the food. I was not impressed with the crepes themselves. The texture felt stale as if they were a day old and the eggs were rubbery. My suggestion is to tell customers 25 minutes instead of 30. It's better to have a customer wait for fresh crepes than to serve stale ones. As for the take out experience and ambience of the crêperie, plastic ware should be separated and wrapped for customers. Especially in a pandemic! Instead I was told to grab the plasticware from the boxes they were delivered to the restaurant in. Not okay. This shows lack of care for the business and health of your customers. And to nitpick, a restaurant table is not an office. Please put your computer and wallet away out of sight from the customer and seating area. I hope this constructive criticism can help in making your crêperie more of a success. read more

I was looking for a good non-chain option for a lighter dinner, and found Au Bon Lieu on Yelp. It is tucked away in the back of a parking lot for another restaurant, and almost looks like a first floor apartment. Park across the street in the big, free, public garage behind the Hershey Story, cross the street, look for the Au Bon Lieu sign, and walk to the back of the parking lot. This is a very small, casual place. Tables all have a view of the kitchen area so you can see your crepes being made! I ordered a #8 which featured chicken, mozzarella, artichokes and kalamata olives, and a #45 - belgian dark chocolate and raspberry jam. The crepes were cooked perfectly! They were the perfect thickness, and had just the right amount of "stretchyness" (ok..not sure it's a word, but you know what I mean) and the flavor was excellent. The savory crepe was excellent. The ingredients were fresh tasting, and I loved that there were big pieces of artichoke hearts and whole olives. The sweet crepe was amazing. Delicious chocolate and raspberry in just the right amounts. These two crepes were perfect for a light meal. Those with bigger appetites would likely want to order at one more. Service was fast on a Tuesday evening despite a fairly brisk business. Everyone was friendly and seemed to enjoy welcoming new customers. Prices are extremely reasonable. Awesome and tucked away on Hershey's main drag!! It was small and intimate, and totally charming. My friend and I had both Savory and then sweet crepes with coffees. Let's get one thing straight. The food here is good. Would I go back next time I'm in the area? Absolutely not. Reason is, this place has a very odd setup. It's not decided whether it's a self service place (which would be better for all IMO) or a full service place. What I mean by this is the place is basically some tables and chairs surrounding what looks like a makeshift kitchen area that's got all of the things you don't want to see scattered about in a rather haphazard fashion. We walked in, and what turned out to be our server had this deer in headlights kind of look on his face. I thought initially it was another customer because it was so awkward and we seemed to be in each other's way, but after the strangeness wore off, he decided to help us get seated at a table, and then it got even wierder! We were given menus and told to help ourselves to the self service drink coolers, so tap water service was out the window. When the time came for us to tell the server our order, he simply dropped a ticket pad on the table and asked us to write down the number of the items we'd like to order. Which we did. Then we waited for what I'm sure was around 25 minutes, but felt like days. Again, the crepes we're good. Nothing to write home about. When we were ready to leave, you have to walk up to a folding table with an under-thought point of sale system that doesn't have the items we ordered loaded in. The guy needed to cross reference the ticket the we filled out ourselves with the menu, then he asked what drinks we took from the cooler, and then asked me to pick a tip from the screen, allowing me to choose between 15%, 20%, or 25% which I felt was odd considering I'd already done like 95% of the server's job for them. All he had done was bring the food from the "kitchen" which again was like two steps away from where we were seated, and that was pretty much it. TL;DR: decent crepes, odd experience overall. This place is cute and brings me back to my travels through Europe. It's a tiny little cafe tucked away in a back lot and when you walk in you feel like you're either walking into grandma's house or into a cafe in Bruges for breakfast. The hostess/server we encountered when we came here, who may have even been the owner but I'm not 100% sure, was sweet and explained the menu to us as we were seated. We ordered some lattes which she whipped up as we pondered which crepes we wanted to get. The coffee came out delicious! When we got our crepes we were delighted. I got a savory rendition and my girlfriend got the sweet which we both promptly devoured. And then...we got more. These were delicious crepes and we decided it'd be in our best interest to try some different ones so she got a different savory and I got a different sweet. Again, delicious. Our bill came and we were a little shocked: it was so cheap! I'm used to paying a higher price for crepes and coffee this good so it was a nice surprise to pay such a small amount for this great experience. The icing on the cake, or crepes if you will, is that you can watch the cook make the crepes right in front of you which is an impressive sight. The place was getting busy when we were there and the guy looked like he was getting showered with orders. We were a little worried it would take longer than expected but as we watched we saw him calmly churn out multiple orders at a time and we had our food served expeditiously! The best part was his stoicism and watching every movement executed so fluidly while somehow also doing it rapidly. Voila!
