Found this bakery on Yelp and it didn't disappoint. The sign out front says "Paris Bakery" in a commercial building. The bakery blends French & Vietnamese flavors together so well. I ordered the Pate Chaud sandwich (a Vietnamese meatball enveloped by flaky pastry that they then opened up & added BBQ pork, meatloaf, and pickled veggies. My husband ordered the Poulet (Chicken) croissant - shredded chicken with pickled & fresh veggies in their flaky croissant. Both of the sandwiches has the bright flavors of a banh mi and were delicious. We also ordered 2 hot Vietnamese coffees. The coffee was robust and was deliciously contrasted by the sweet cream they whipped into it. We will definitely be back to check out their cakes, tarts, cream puffs & more.
Who knew pate chaud and banh mi would be a good match but it works! It's a tasty little snack. Their dragon tail baguette is very good. I like that you can break it into small pieces. *the last time I went their apple/samsung/google pay didn't work so keep that in mind.
This place closes so early! I finally got to try their pate Chaud banh mi yesterday and it was a tasty little treat! I wish that they let you choose different meats though. The jalapeño and carrots/daikon were not pickled enough. Overall it's a neat fusion idea!

WOW, literally the best of both worlds. I called in to order 5 and luckily they said it should be ready in about 10 minutes. Located in plaza with other commercial businesses, so drive slow and look for the PARIS white sign. It's a cute little place and the service was fast and super friendly

Au Coeur de Paris has very good almond croissants. But you need to get there early because they have odd hours. They're open only from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm daily! Many times I came at 1:05 pm and their doors were already closed and they were gone! Butter croissants are $4.50 and almond croissants are $5.50, if you want to know their prices. I haven't tried anything else so I can't comment on them.
Croissant $4 A little under $4, but for the price and size, well worth it. It's even good room temperature, but warmed is even better (they'll ask if you want it warmed up). The flavor by itself is salty and buttery enough and definitely not bland. I still think this croissant is Paris level but maybe better in terms of flavor lol Ham and cheese croissant Haven't had these in a min, but there's also a béchamel sauce inside with the ham and cheese. Quite indulgent , but worth every penny. Chouquettes Like an unfilled cream puff covered in large sugar crystals. Addictive and airy. I wasn't sure what their special sandwich was called, but he knew exactly what I meant and got my order going right away, which made everything so easy. I ordered two pâté chaud sandwiches and the wait was super short. The sandwich was incredible!! It was sooo crispy, warm, and full of flavor. It's such a smart idea & a great innovation to combine two Vietnamese delicacies together that gives you the best of both worlds. The service was amazing, there was plenty of parking, the workers were the sweetest, and the food was absolutely worth it.

It has so much potential, so I'm willing to give it another try--maybe I just got an off one this time. I also tried the Vietnamienne sandwich on a croissant, and I ended up liking this one more than the pate chaud. Their croissants are deliciously airy and buttery, and the combination worked well. I'd love to come back and try their popular croissant pastries, as they seem to be a standout. Parking was easy, with an almost empty lot, though there's a $0.50 charge for card payments under $10. Service was good, but just a heads-up--there's no seating available. Overall, Au Coeur De Paris has potential, and I'm looking forward to exploring more of their menu next time.

So I heard that they're known for the Pate Chaud and baguettes, and they do yummy. I ordered a pate chaud, a sandwich and a sweet treat. Pate Chaud has a great but small portion well mixed meat filling, the crusty pastry was mixed for me, top part was crusty and smell fantastic but as you voted into it, it become tough and abit chewy for me. The bánh mì, for me didn't do much - just nothing special. The baguette was not hot nor crisp as you bite in it, it was just room temperature. The size is abit smaller then other place with decent price for it. The opera cake was abit disappointed for me, I love love this cake and it was just below average for me, abit sweeter then I would like, the bottom of the cake sticked to the paper and the cake itself was just fell like cake mixed from the box. Just nothing special. The displaced cakes look great so will come back to get them to give a taste another time.

This is my favorite bakery for baguettes. Favorite must haves: Vietnamese Banh Mi Baguette absolutely the best! Pate Chaud Banh Mi Their new pastry, Creme Chouquette is delicious. It's light and airy with the freshest filling, not overly sweet. read more

I came all the way from the UK to try out the pate chaud and cream chouquettes here after my partner recommended me this place. The chouquettes flavours available were chocolate, caramel, vanilla and raspberry and so we tried each one - they were absolutely delicious. The pastry was perfect and the filling was flavourful without being too sweet, and the sugar crystals on the outside gave a nice contrast of crunchy texture. The pate chaud was great too, nice pastry and fillings with the banh mi style filling. The owner was really nice and friendly too! Highly recommend this place! read more

Who knew pate chaud and banh mi would be a good match but it works! It's a tasty little snack. Their dragon tail baguette is very good. I like that you can break it into small pieces. *the last time I went their apple/samsung/google pay didn't work so keep that in mind. read more

Au Coeur De Paris is a local bakery specializing in pate chaud and croissant banh mis! This shop is located in a plaza with a good amount of parking spots. Inside, there is no seating so this is definitely more of a grab and go spot. Keep in mind that this shop is only open from 7am-1pm while supplies last! They have a good selection of different pastries, cakes, and sandwiches. I opted to try the croissant banh mi and it did not disappoint! The croissant provided a nice switch up from the usual banh mi with its soft, buttery, airy texture. Overall, this spot is definitely more of a hole in the wall gem. All of the staff here are very friendly, quick, and efficient. Come stop by to support and try some of their unique banh mis! read more

Been coming here for years and the quality is still good today as when they first opened. I came into town to visit family and took my kids here for the first time and they tried the pate chaud banh mi. Wow they ate it all so quickly! So delicious! Au Coeur De Paris is a true hidden gem....we will be back for more! read more
Randomly stop while I was getting lottery next door, found my self coming here 2 days in a row. I love the pate chaud, wasn't dry, flakey and buttery with good amount and tasty pork meat. Paid $4.50 for 2 pate chaud. I also got the almond croissant which was good also, not too sweet, just the right amount of sweetness. read more

Stopped by right before our trip home. Had to sneak inside because it was right at 1pm when they were closing. Man, did it smell so good inside. Whenever I'm in the Garden Grove area, I always try a new Banh mi spot since there's so many to choose from; Today, Au Coeur De Paris caught our eye because of their pate Chad sandwich . We arrived on a Sunday morning around 10:30am and the parking lot was pretty empty . The building is pretty outdated, but don't judge a book by it's cover just yet lol . We entered and was greeted right away by the kind cashier who told us they had sold out of a lot of pastries already-- but the chocolate and almond croissants just came out fresh . We placed our order and the pate chaud sandwiches came out pretty quick . Here's the food review: PATE CHAUD-- seems like this is what they're known for; the moment you walk in this is what the lovely aroma is . The croissant itself is fresh, warm, flakey, and you can tell its made with love . The meatball inside was so juicy and flavorful . Im definitely going to pick up a dozen the next time I'm in town to bring home. 10/10 PATE CHAUD SANDWICH-- Literally a special Banh mi, but in between a pate chaud-- as a mini sandwich bite ! The presentation is so lovely, but the bite itself was such a delight . There was pork loaf, bbq pork, pate, cilantro, pickled veggies, sliced onion, cucumber, jalapeño, the pate chaud meatball . Its a heavenly two-biter-- would be a great appetizer . 8.5/10 HAM&CHEESE CROISSANT-- Croissant itself was flakey and I loved the cheese crust on the top layer. Ham and cheese on the inside . Basic, yet bougie-- 7/10 CHOCOLATE CROISSANT-- this had just came out fresh-- warm, buttery, flakey, chocolate filling was perfect . This was tasty and a sweet treat . 8/10 Overall, we had a great experience . The cashier and workers are very welcoming and the bakery itself looked clean . By chance we see that Au Coeur De Paris bakery had its doors open. It was around 12:30pm when we drove by going West on Edinger. I quickly made a U-Turn upon the lovely missus' urging. I am Glad we did as we walked in and a young lady greeted us. Ofcourse we were immediately amazed at the displays of colorful tarts and fruity pastries. The decor on the wall was a highlight for me as it did remind of the real Paris in France from so long ago. We see the butter croissants and the freshly baked breads and baguettes. I ordered one long French crust baguette and then I saw a Pate Chaud case. The missus chose a Mango Mousse pastry and dish of a creamy Creme Brulet. We will take it to go and have the treats at home. The missus rated the Creme Brulet just very slightly over the Mango Mousse. My Pate Chaud was still warm and has that crunch of a layered crust. The porky mixture inside the pocket was seasoned well but not overbearing that so many Viet style Pate Chaud leave a lingering taste. I like the Pate Chaud and should have ordered two. The baguette was fresh and had that good chewy crust, but my preference is for a more breadier white doughy bread. This one did have a buttery sweetness in the bite. However, it quickly flattened out and you'll be chewing two halves of outer crust. No worries, we did enjoy this small Au Coeur De Paris bakery. We will be back during Open hours now that we know. read more
Tried this bakery earlier today and really liked it! I ordered two of the Pate Chauds and a Mango Mousse cake and though they were both pretty good. The pate chauds were delicious and the texture was perfectly flakey on the outside. The Mango Mousse cake was very light and airy and was sweet but definitely not cloyingly so. Service was nice and there was plenty of parking - not a huge lot but it seemed like the bakery was the only place people were going to. I saw some tables on prior yelp pictures but didn't notice any today when I went a couple hours before closing. read more

Passed by here on my way to work (because I was tired of traffic and got hungry) but dang, one of the best spontaneous decisions I ever made. I got their popular pate sandwich and it's popular for a reason! Made freshly when I ordered it, the bread was nice, toasty and flakey, the meat was juicy and tender and the condiments complemented the main ingredients beautifully. A small sandwich, but each bite packed so much flavor. 12/10, will definitely come back again to try their other pastries and drinks. read more

I ordered the chicken baguette and I'm quite disappointed... There's little to no chicken in it. I taste mainly carrots and other veggies. The baguette by itself is good. Just need improvement on the protein. read more

Best Pate Chau Buy 10 get 1 free. This is one of the go to breakfast items my family orders. It's perfect from the pastry crust to the super seasoned meatball in the middle I tried the special pate Chau banh mi and it was delicious and unique though I'd prefer a regular bahn mi with more pickled veggies, I still loved the novelty This is my 3rd time having this and it's always consistently great! read more
Came in to grab a pate chaud sandwich because the idea is intriguing. Good concept, but poorly executed . The pate chaud pastry itself was hard and didn't have a great flakey texture to it and the pate chaud meat wasn't very tasty (tiny piece of meat in proportion to the pastry itself too). The thit nguoi was dry but the other sandwich ingredients were decent. We also picked up a ham quiche that was super sad. read more
I happen to drive by this bakery quite often so I was surprised it was here. Definitely a hidden gem, this small bakery offers French-Vietnamese options. The display case was small but hosted some familiar French pastries that were well made and a treat for the eyes. We ordered two of their pate chaud banh mis which were really good. Got a pain au chocolate which reminded me of France when I heated it up. The ham and cheese croissant was good as well. We also got two Vietnamese iced coffees which I thought were standard. My hubby thought there was an aftertaste to it but I couldn't tell. Service was good as well and I'm happy to support a local business. read more

Best of both worlds! Banh Mi and Pate Chaud. So flaky that you'll def need to give yourself a good shake before heading to your next destination. The banh mi filling was perfectly thin sliced to accommodate the size of the pate chaud. Too bad we live too far or else this would be a great dish to bring to share with friends and family. read more
