This Cream Pan is a branch from the original's in Tustin, mildly closer to Disneyland. The neighborhood is a little sketch, but there's a spacious parking lot with an ample amount of spaces, and the interior is pretty wide with a lot of breathing room. Their claim to fame, the strawberry croissants, taste as spectacular, light, crispy, airy, and deliciously subtle and fruity as much as the original location. The main problem is they definitely seem to have way less stock on hand, and things can sell out fast. I had to come back another day for my favorite item of theirs, the rusk - extremely light and crunchy bites of buttery sugared mini toast. I buy a bunch of these to take home as souvenirs, as the strawberry croissants obviously need to be eaten ASAP. Their employees were pretty friendly and helpful. I love that they carry bulk platters of their strawberry croissant and have them displayed right as you enter. They also have various other desserts and pastries, even some savory sandwiches and sushi, packaged goods, and coffee. My favourite at cream pan is the curry bread. The curry rice is not bad too but you have to order and wait 20 min for it to be ready. I got the strawberry shortcake for my birthday last year and was surprised at how good it was. The strawberries were fresh and the cream was light and fluffy and the cake very soft like sponge. Everything is amazing here but the downside is a lot of it gets sold out in the afternoon. Their signature dessert is their strawberry croissant, which is flaky, filled with delicious custard, and topped with fresh strawberry slices. If you need a dessert to impress at a party or corporate gathering, then buy a dozen or two of these. The thing is that I really enjoy everything else they have here. Their milk bread is perfect for any sandwiches. They have bento boxes featuring several sandwiches with this milk bread and I think it's an awesome lunch option! I can't resist their sandwich packs, where you get a trio of bite-sized ham/cheese, tuna, and egg salad sandwiches. If you want something baked, then you should definitely get a savory curry pan, which is basically a doughnut that's filled with Japanese Curry. It's one of my favorite pastries from Japan and Cream Pan has one of the best locations locally. If you have a sweet tooth and you haven't tried Cream Pan, then you should really check it out. Cream Pan is another favorite shop of mine when I visit So-Cal. This location is one of 3 in the So-Cal area and not the original (original is in Tustin). This location is newer, and has some good seating. But parking may be difficult if you come at busy hours. We went here during brunch hours and it was empty...until we checked out. There was a line about 10 people after us. We got a lot of items ($150+ so took a while to ring up). To me, they have some of the best pastries ever. Their Cream Puffs are my favorite since the filling is more like a custard than whipped cream. The most popular is the Strawberry Croissant, which uses the same custard filling as the cream puffs. When we went, we got breakfast for our group so got everything to go to eat at the Airbnb. They also sell savory items, such as the katsu sandwiches (which are really good), and musubis and baos and curry buns. You really cannot go wrong with any items here and I still have not tried all the items here. They also sell coffee if you need a pick me up. Service was great also. We had a lot of items and the cashier worked efficiently and got us out quickly. I'll happily go here again for the next visit. read more

Wow -- Cream Pan has such a huge variety! I stopped by around 7:30am and was pleasantly surprised there wasn't much of a line. Parking is super easy with a large lot right out front. Cream Pan - it's about time I made it inside this bakery. I gotta say, there was an overwhelming about of signage inside and outside the building that it looked pretty tacky. And the inside looked very outdated. However, I didn't come here to look at decor. I came for their famous STRAWBERRY CROISSANTS. I've grown to love these flaky croissants stuffed with custard and tart strawberries, and a dusting of powdered sugar, which make for a not-too-sweet dessert. I've tried them from parties but never had a chance to come out here. The service was pretty quick. No interaction but that's okay. Totally just came and got the strawberry croissants from the refrigerated area, as well as other treats including their Chocolate Croissant (meh), the Cheese Boule (too oily), and and Steamed Buns (they were okay). The shop was pretty empty, but the pastry case was full of delicious-looking goodies just calling our name. We stuck to the classics: * 2 strawberry croissants * 1 cream pan (I mean, it's the name of the shop, had to try it) * 1 curry chicken bun for hubby, who's all about the savory stuff All that for under $11 total. An absolute steal considering a single pastry back home in the Bay Area can cost $5 easily. We headed back to the car, paired our pastries with the dreamy Airoma coffee, and went to town. Here's the verdict: * Strawberry croissant - 5/5. Flaky, fresh, creamy, perfect. We all LOVED it. * Curry chicken bun - 3/5. It was fine, but nothing special. * Cream pan - 6/5. Seriously magical. I've always enjoyed Cream Pan, which is why this experience was disappointing. I recently visited the Fountain Valley location and spent about $40 on pastries and food. Unfortunately, the bread pudding tasted strongly like onions. My mom and I both tried it, and we immediately noticed the same onion flavor, which was unexpected. I politely asked if it could be exchanged, and the employee went to ask the manager. The manager came out, tasted the pastry in front of us, and said it didn't taste like onions. I understand that everyone has different tastes, but the interaction felt dismissive. We decided not to ask for a replacement because we felt uncomfortable and simply left. What disappointed me most wasn't the pastry itself, it was the customer service. A little empathy or even a simple apology would have made a big difference. I'm sharing this because I've had positive experiences at Cream Pan before and hope this location can improve how customer concerns are handled. Sooo not sure what all the hype is. Compared to other bakery's it's just okay. I tried to strawberry croissant that they are well known for and while it was good it wasn't something super impressive. Also tried the cheesecake, and matcha tiramisu which were good. The coffee roll cake was pretty dry tho, needed more filling. I think I would give it a higher rating if it was cheaper. We paid $19 for all 4 items and I don't think each item was worth more than $2-3. Also service sucked lady was rude. read more

This visit was to their Fountain Valley location--usually, I go to the original spot in Tustin, but this one is so much closer to us. I made sure to get my cravings satisfied before starting postpartum confinement. My husband asked about a hot dog bun, and the cashier just said, "Do you see the hot dog bun there?" without actually checking. Not the friendliest response, so my husband just let it go and ordered the Condensed Milk Coffee instead. Wanted to check out the new Cream Pan location in Fountain Valley. It's definitely bigger than the Tustin spot, with indoor seating now--which is nice! But parking is pretty limited. There's a nearby health clinic that used to be the go-to for overflow parking, but they recently put up signs saying Cream Pan customers can't park there anymore. Like the Tustin location, certain items sell out fast. The azuki creams are super TASTY but were already gone by 2PM last time we went. That said, one nice thing about this location is that they always seem to have plenty of strawberry croissants in stock.
