This Cream Pan is a branch from the original in Tustin's, mildly closer to Disneyland. The neighborhood is a little sketch, but there's a spacious parking lot with an ample amount of spaces, and the interior is pretty wide with a lot of breathing room. Their claim to fame, the strawberry croissants, taste as spectacular, light, crispy, airy, and deliciously subtle and fruity as much as the original location. The main problem is they definitely seem to have way less stock on hand, and things can sell out fast. I had to come back another day for my favorite item of theirs, the rusk - extremely light and crunchy bites of buttery sugared mini toast. I buy a bunch of these to take home as souvenirs, as the strawberry croissants obviously need to be eaten ASAP. Their employees were pretty friendly and helpful. I love that they carry bulk platters of their strawberry croissant and have them displayed right as you enter. They also have various other desserts and pastries, even some savory sandwiches and sushi, packaged goods, and coffee. This is a cute spot! I don't know why it isn't packed, but I can understand why they're out of certain items if the traffic isn't really headed their way, especially on a Friday. There's plenty of seating to study or chill with friends, and there's parking not only in the front but also in the back. I personally love their signature strawberry croissant. My favourite at cream pan is the curry bread. The curry rice is not bad too but you have to order and wait 20 min for it to be ready. I got the strawberry shortcake for my birthday last year and was surprised at how good it was. The strawberries were fresh and the cream was light and fluffy and the cake very soft like sponge. Everything is amazing here but the downside is a lot of it gets sold out in the afternoon. Their Vietnamese Coffee will significantly raise your heart rate and may cause stomach issues, but that's common with extremely strong coffee. I still get it often, regardless! Always a stop before heading back home to San Diego. The strawberry croissant is absolutely delicious. Perfectly sized, as some croissants can be overly large. It's flaky with a rich, creamy custard that complements the strawberry perfectly. Cream pan is a Japanese Bakery that has expanded to Fountain Valley and it is one of southern California's finest bakeries. While most tourists talk about Porto's Bakery, Cream Pan deserves to be mentioned as the place to get some sweet treats. Their signature dessert is their strawberry croissant, which is flaky, filled with delicious custard, and topped with fresh strawberry slices. If you need a dessert to impress at a party or corporate gathering, then buy a dozen or two of these. The thing is that I really enjoy everything else they have here. Their milk bread is perfect for any sandwiches. They have bento boxes featuring several sandwiches with this milk bread and I think it's an awesome lunch option! I can't resist their sandwich packs, where you get a trio of bite-sized ham/cheese, tuna, and egg salad sandwiches. If you want something baked, then you should definitely get a savory curry pan, which is basically a doughnut that's filled with Japanese Curry. It's one of my favorite pastries from Japan and Cream Pan has one of the best locations locally. If you have a sweet tooth and you haven't tried Cream Pan, then you should really check it out. Cream Pan is another favorite shop of mine when I visit So-Cal. This location is one of 3 in the So-Cal area and not the original (original is in Tustin). This location is newer, and has some good seating. But parking may be difficult if you come at busy hours. We went here during brunch hours and it was empty...until we checked out. There was a line about 10 people after us. We got a lot of items ($150+ so took a while to ring up). To me, they have some of the best pastries ever. Their Cream Puffs are my favorite since the filling is more like a custard than whipped cream. The most popular is the Strawberry Croissant, which uses the same custard filling as the cream puffs. When we went, we got breakfast for our group so got everything to go to eat at the Airbnb. They also sell savory items, such as the katsu sandwiches (which are really good), and musubis and baos and curry buns. You really cannot go wrong with any items here and I still have not tried all the items here. They also sell coffee if you need a pick me up. Service was great also. We had a lot of items and the cashier worked efficiently and got us out quickly. I'll happily go here again for the next visit. read more

And the inside looked very outdated. However, I didn't come here to look at decor. I came for their famous STRAWBERRY CROISSANTS. I've grown to love these flaky croissants stuffed with custard and tart strawberries, and a dusting of powdered sugar, which make for a not-too-sweet dessert. We stuck to the classics: * 2 strawberry croissants * 1 cream pan (I mean, it's the name of the shop, had to try it) * 1 curry chicken bun for hubby, who's all about the savory stuff All that for under $11 total. An absolute steal considering a single pastry back home in the Bay Area can cost $5 easily. We headed back to the car, paired our pastries with the dreamy Airoma coffee, and went to town. Here's the verdict: * Strawberry croissant - 5/5. Flaky, fresh, creamy, perfect. We all LOVED it. * Curry chicken bun - 3/5. It was fine, but nothing special. * Cream pan - 6/5. Seriously magical. Sooo not sure what all the hype is. Compared to other bakery's it's just okay. I tried to strawberry croissant that they are well known for and while it was good it wasn't something super impressive. Also tried the cheesecake, and matcha tiramisu which were good. The coffee roll cake was pretty dry tho, needed more filling. I think I would give it a higher rating if it was cheaper. We paid $19 for all 4 items and I don't think each item was worth more than $2-3. Also service sucked lady was rude. read more

Wanted to check out the new Cream Pan location in Fountain Valley. It's definitely bigger than the Tustin spot, with indoor seating now--which is nice! But parking is pretty limited. There's a nearby health clinic that used to be the go-to for overflow parking, but they recently put up signs saying Cream Pan customers can't park there anymore. Like the Tustin location, certain items sell out fast. The azuki creams are super TASTY but were already gone by 2PM last time we went. That said, one nice thing about this location is that they always seem to have plenty of strawberry croissants in stock. Their Tustin location has better selection of pastries and baked goods but this will do if all you want is just a few pastries and strawberry croissants. Called yesterday asking for dinner rolls and the gal that answered the phone said they didn't have any. So I proceeded to ask her "what kind of rolls or bread do you have today?". She said "we don't have any rolls at all, sorry!" Somehow i didn't accept that answer as a no and decided to stop by anyway. I walked in and first thing I noticed were butter rolls, raisin rolls, brioche rolls, multi-grain rolls, you name it, they were all lining up on the shelves right in front of the cashier! There were also several loaves of challah bread in the basket and one in the glass case with all the breads. I could not believe it. Was so glad I made a stop there. I quickly picked up a loaf of challah bread because we've had it before from here and it was good. Then left for my appointment but sent my sister out later to get some strawberry croissants for our family get together dinner. They are always delicious here but I try not to eat too many. :) We used to buy boxes of them weekly at the Tustin store when they were still 75 cents each (they're very small) and they're now $2.40/each.
