    Pork pate chaud
    Amy E.

Hubby picked up food here a little later in the afternoon so everything was not available that we wanted to try. We got the chicken and pork pate chaud and were immediate fans! So flakey and the meat was flavored really well and very moist. We got the Viet coffee and it was nice and strong with a wonderful roasted aftertaste. The steamed pork baos were just ok, we found the bao to be a bit dense and the filling a bit too sweet.

The BEST pate chaud, we were brainstorming places for a light snack with morning drinks and our vietnamese friends eyes lit up when I was reading Gala off the list of some places I had bookmarked. They vouched for the chicken and pork pate chaud as well as the banh mi. Unfortunately they had no bread today so we were not able to try the banh mi. Good news is we were able to try 6 each chicken and pork as well as their baos. Pork pate chaud, very large triangle puffed pastry. The meat is super well seasoned and is stunning. I left some for a Japanese relative picky about food and she loved it. The chicken one is the size of the pork pate chaud at other places and I liked it more since it felt more bite sized and not so large. Same insanely good meat seasoning as the pork, this is my new favorite. Baos were good, the quail egg ones were very fresh today. I didn't like the ultra thin layer on bottom of the bao because it felt like the meat was going to fall out so I ate them upside down.

My all time favorite coffee. The best Vietnamese coffee I've ever had, and I've tried a lot. I drive 25 minutes every week to get some coffee and chicken pate chaud. The coffee is so flavorful with a good kick. I honestly can't get enough of this coffee, it's seriously the best I've ever had. And the chicken pate chaud is so perfect for a simple morning snack. It's on a small street and hidden in a small plaza so make sure not to miss it!

This is our go-to bakery for pate chaud every time we stay overnight in OC. We would wake up and bring back a dozen for breakfast. The pate chaud is moist, juicy, the puff pastry is consistent and not dry or broken or oily. The chicken is made in a square shape and the pork is in a triangle. I prefer the chicken over the pork. Both meats are very flavorful but the pork is oily and a bit more salty. I also prefer the chicken because it's in a square shape. You get the equal proportion of meat and puff pastry. Whereas, the triangle pork shaped is airy, my meaning of bready because the pork is in the center so you'll have to bite through each corners of just bread before you can get to the meat. If the pork was made into a square shape, then I wouldn't mind. The chicken is cheaper at $1.35 each versus pork at $2.15 each. I also tried the chocolate croissant. It's the rectangle shaped not triangle croissant shaped. The chocolate was evenly distributed throughout and not so sweet but I feel something is missing with the outer shell. Eating the pate chaud fresh out the oven is the best. Parking here is limited but people do leave rather quickly to pick up and leave. They sell beverages like Vietnamese coffee, mung bean, and mung bean with pandan as well as Vietnamese sandwiches, sweets, and other items found on the counter.

I stopped by here for some quick snacks with my family during our trip in California. The place is small with limited menu, so we just ordered the pandan leaves mixed with green bean drinks, which is the only thing they have on the menu other than banh mi (vietnamese sandwich). The drink was a tad bit too sweet for me and very concentrated. I had to water it down with ice to make it taste better.

I enjoy their coffee and chicken pate chaud. Everything is pre made so freshness will vary when you come in. Still very good overall. Are they following covid food safety protocol? Ive seen money handled before and after items have been given on several occasions. Come see for yourself.

Chè ba mau (tricolor)- I really liked all the beans, jelly, etc they put in it. Someone said they don't like all the big sweet beans but those are my fav part of this che. So if you don't like beans .... Don't get this or ask of they can make it with less? Chè bo (avocado)- delicious, this was my brothers. He liked it. Not too sweet. Basic coconut - sis in law ordered this. I didn't get to try but she really likes this one. She's been here before. One thing to note if u are allergic to dairy: there are a few items with no dairy. They told me the tricolor was no dairy but later on I saw that on the menu that is actually says "has the least dairy" in Vietnamese. It's ok bc I'm not terribly allergic but maybe they shouldn't say that it doesn't contain dairy in case someone is allergic. Also the staff were really nice but could be more informed. Would definitely come back!

Hands down, the service at this location was outstanding!…read more I signed up through the app and was supposed to receive a free cake, but for some reason I couldn't redeem it when ordering online. The male staff member assisted immediately, unlike some other locations that simply say the cake is out of stock. He went the extra mile by contacting customer service and resolving the issue right away. In the end, we placed our order in person at the counter and were able to receive the free cake. One of the items we ordered was the Trio Bean Combination, which was delicious. Sweetness level and ice quantity can also be customized, which is always a plus. The café itself was clean and tidy, making the visit even more pleasant. The only downside is that there is no outdoor seating area.

Take that as you will. If you wanna give your money to a business who deliberately goes out of their way to make sure there is less product than you can realistically purchase. Do what they say and buy in advance online only...aaaaand only in advance never go in person if you care enough to eat this dessert. It's not THAT good to deal with that policy, for me. Respectfully. Does it even matter if you have a great product if your customers can never get ahold of it? Food? Great. Ambience is clean. Stock? Empty. Descriptions at the bottom. Complaint below. I'm never coming back. Waste of my life. I've come 6 times and they are always out of their deserts I literally have only been able to try the palm sugar once and the cassava MAYBE 3x in the last 10x (one year) of coming. I left empty handed the last 5x. Drive 30 min just to have my life wasted. I'm never coming back again. Honestly, at this point I think they do it on purpose. Probably just to create some sort of artificial demand. Either that or the level of incompetency with regard to their operations management is laughable. It's a question as old as time. Hanlon's razor. Well today I choose to apply malice. Good luck to the rest of you! If you get lucky enough or desperate enough to camp outside just to beg like a pauper for some small cake ( that honestly is good but not worth this amount of effort).... The palm sugar is like a brown sugar cake with a mochi texture. Chewy and lightly sweet. The cassava is a dense lightly sweet cake that reminds me of a coconut pound cake muffins better tasting and lighter cousin. The pandan layer is pleasantly chewy with mungbean almost jello mochi.

People do change lol The customer service here used to be great. Owner was patient and nice. Things have changed over years. Recent visit including today, the owner eyes weren't as kind as before. He was rushing my mom and felt irritated that she was asking questions. There were rau cau that came in singles and rau cau that came in 6. I never knew that the ones that came in six were just display and not for sale. My mom wanted to save the dude from grabbing single ones, so she asked for the tray of 6 Pandan coconut. He gave my mom attitude saying that he only sell the single ones. If she insisted in buying the tray of 6 then it will be extra cost. Lol in that case we rather get in singles..duh! More convenient to eat...crazy! Afterwards, when he noticed that my mom was buying more stuff, he kinda stopped with his attitude. Like yo...chill. One or two items, you're still making money. That how you became you today!!! I gonna give this place another chance. In the future, if he still act such ways..it's goodbye for good. For sure, I will lower the ratings as well. Place is lucky that although the service went down but the quality still the same.
