    Very uninformative receipt.
    Quinn N.

Likes: + Yummy pâté chaud. The small square one is chicken, costs $2 apiece. The large triangle one is pork, $3 apiece. + Efficient service. Polite, helpful staff. Non-likes: - Sketch ambience. A vagabond's just sitting there staring at you. - Small parking lot. - They don't take G Pay or even Venmo. Zelle or cash only (and maybe credit card?). - The lady pronounces it as "yell". Took me a double take to realize she meant Zelle. - Poor receipt design. The receipt omits many important details: ~ shop name ~ shop address ~ a clear breakdown of the prices between items ~ what items were ordered, and how many of each. The receipt just lumps the entire order as one total price.

The vietnamese coffee is good. It's sweet and creamy. The coffee itself though, has an aftertaste of something that I can't pinpoint, either overroasted beans or dirty filter. But it's all good. Don't sleep on the mungbean drink. It's surprisingly good. It's creamy and sweet and has bits of mungbean. Yum. The color is so green though, it's kinda disturbing, so just don't look at it. We also got chicken pate chaud. It's flaky and the chicken ball is green-oniony-fragrant. Nothing too special but a nice snack for 2 buck. The lady is not very helpful and borderline kinda rude. But it's a quick in n out and order by the window, so you won't have to deal with her for long. Cash only.

I've had gala bakery before and the coffee and pate chaud (esp the pork) is absolutely amazing!!! Whenever I'm in the area I always try to make a stop here, but it's always either closed or I don't have cash on me this time I finally made it before 3PM but only had my emergency car cash on me so I only had $6 on hand and had to make this trip worth it. I was able to order a few chicken pate chauds and my day was instantly made! My only regret was not carrying enough cash to also get a cafe sua da and pork pate chaud definitely coming back to try their croissants and baos! Recommend: cafe sua da, pork pate chaud *Chicken is also good, but pork is superior

One of the best places for Vietnamese Coffee (cafe sua da) in the Little Saigon area. Not too sweet, not too strong and just the perfect amount of ice! I've also tried their pate chaud before too and those are great as well! Honorable Mentions: -Cash only -Good amount of parking available

My mom claims to know where to get good coffee. So we put her to the test and she was not lying. Gala has some solid vietnamese coffee that is strong like it's nobody's business. Ordering was fast and easy at their little window. The coffee was so strong, I had to wait till the ice melted to have a caffeine ratio perfect for me. My sister and I had to share it because I am not usually a coffee drinker.

Yo, the pate chaud is fire . The pork pate chaud is size of 4 chicken pate chauds. The protein portion in the pork isn't proportionate to the bread. There's wayy more bread than meat . I like the chicken one , the meat is evenly distributed to the bread . The chicken one is savory yet sweet , really good mixture in the pallet. Will return for more chicken pate chaud. Pork pate chaud - too much bread not enough meat. Cost more than chicken. Chicken pate chaud -perfect. Savory yet sweet. My buddy pointed out a unique quality to this pate chaud. He says because of the onion and pea, it has a more sweet taste to it. The meat inside doesn't taste as pepper as other spots, it's very balanced. Would get more chicken next time.

So good and prices are more than reasonable. Flaky outside and moist middle pate chaud. tip: don't buy just one. They're kind of hidden but it's near the Asian garden mall and during covid time only the back side window is open.

I want to say this place is a hidden gem, but truly it's only physically hidden because it's located in a side ally by the Asian Garden Mall, however judging by the traffic this little bakery gets, it's clearly a local favorite. They are famous for their pate chaud and rightfully so. The outside is lightly crispy and flaky and the filling is moist and bursting with flavor. Personally I like the chicken flavor more, but the pork is really good as well, I'd highly recommend grabbing at least 3 per person because that has been the magic portion for us. Their Vietnamese coffee is definitely worth a mention as well, it's not quite the traditional French drip with condensed milk flavor - seems like they add a hint of hazelnut (similar to Lee's Sandwich). We usually grab extras to drink over the next few days. On the COVID safety measures front, I think they are doing a great job. The inside of the bakery is closed to patrons; there's a window where you place and pick up your order. The workers all have masks and gloves, there are signs requiring patrons to wear masks and they have a bottle of hand sanitizer on the counter in the window.

Love it when I'm picked up with Gala waiting for me

My favorite place to get Vietnamese coffee in California is Gala. If it weren't for my dietary restrictions, I would get Gala coffee every weekend. I like that the drinks come straight out of tHe freezer filled with ice and their silky coffee. I swear there is butter in the coffee. The roasted flavor is never overpowered by the condensed milk. This is the best Vietnamese coffee outside of Vietnam. Believe me! Parking is tight at this location so you may have to park farther and walk. It is so worth it. Workers are efficient and courteous. I usually drink two only for myself.

In Mexican culture we call them "pastel de mil hojas" which translates to a thousand sheet cake. I am a huuuuge fan of thousand sheet cake. After my husband birthday cake was a bust, we came here and were so glad we did. This is truly one of the best thousand sheet cakes we've ever had. We were taken a little back by what it looked like inside. There are lots of plants and we didn't seen any display of cakes. There was a family just standing there and we saw an older woman cutting strawberries. We were helped and were able to pay with a credit card. We ordered the 1/4 sheet cake and paid $45 which is more than fair. The cake is layered with cake, the thousand sheets, whipped topping, and a variety of fresh fruit. It is honestly so delicious and looks beautiful. They can also add a "happy birthday" for you if you'd like. The cake came in a box and with a disposable/plastic cake knife. Overall, I am super happy with my purchase and will return!

Pro tip: Their storefront looks like a flower shop between the corner bakery and grocery store. Great job cake lady!

The main problem is they definitely seem to have way less stock on hand, and things can sell out fast. I had to come back another day for my favorite item of theirs, the rusk - extremely light and crunchy bites of buttery sugared mini toast. I buy a bunch of these to take home as souvenirs, as the strawberry croissants obviously need to be eaten ASAP. Their employees were pretty friendly and helpful. I love that they carry bulk platters of their strawberry croissant and have them displayed right as you enter.
