We did a quick trip to France and started one of our days at Au Rendez Vous des Amis. We came in between breakfast and lunch so they had select options but we were happy with the food we received - various baked goods French bread and croissant with some orange juice. I had a latte and my friend enjoyed her café black with the light meal. The server was friendly even despite our lack of communication with each other's language. One thing that threw me off was there were a few people outside of the bistro taking photos I'm not sure if there was something about the place we didn't know but I will say this was one of my favorite Yelp finds!

Getting off the Metro station at Abbesses and walking up through Montmartre to The Basilica of Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre is quite an arduous task. Well we walked several flights of stairs up the hill and by that point we were hungry and thirsty. Luckily for us, up on the corner we found Au Rendez-Vous des Amis. We were trying to avoid tourist traps and when you see local Parisians eating there that's usually a good sign. Well this café far exceeded our expectations. Both my children 11 and 13 are picky eaters which makes finding meals very difficult, especially in Paris. Well we able to get meals for everyone, three of us had the Burger which was incredible -everyone loved them including myself. I had a local beer with my burger which made it taste even better after the long walk up. My wife had the Chicken Caesar which she thoroughly enjoyed. If you have made the long way up to the halfway point between the Metro Abbesses station and The Basilica of The Sacred Heart looking for somewhere to take a break and enjoy a meal or drink this is the place. take it from a travel influencer/yelp elite :)

A simple place to eat after a long walk, very touristy with a nice place to people watch. Service was fast and on the ball, they were happy to answer any questions on the rather large menu. Simple no frills meal that was so delicious and wasn't super expensive. Would recommend this place to anyone who likes to people watch and sit back and be lazy. :-)

This small town resto is wonderful. (No surprise, of course - it's Montmarte.) Diners take their lunches street side in the brisk weather. Inside, sunlight illuminates the rows upon rows of Polaroids covering their beams which give this spot a personal feel. (I'll be back to contribute a photo.) At the bar, a friendly bartender gave us Oranginas and a Coke, while telling us about the place. Live music on a regular basis? Yes, please. During our brief visit, a little white dog trotted in to greet us, then wished us a "bonne journee".

What a great place. We sat outside and had escargot. How wonderfully French. We also had very well prepared spaghetti. It must have been French style! Fun people watching as we ate then took a walk to the Cathedral. This place is a local favorite, not a touristy place and that adds to it the experience.

We were in search of a restaurant near Sacré-cœur and came across this one! It was off the touristy path and very quiet (which we wanted). We came around lunchtime and seated ourselves. There were only two other people in the restaurant. The menu was a good size and decently priced. The waitress brought out a delicious baguette for us. We decided on the escargot for our appetizer. Our expectations weren't very high considering this was our first time trying it, and we didn't know what to expect. But it was delectable! The escargot was so buttery, tender, and seasoned perfectly. We ordered twelve, which was more than enough for two people. We could barely finish it, but pushed ourselves, because it is quite a delicacy! :) For our entrees, we both ordered salads. I don't remember the names, but mine had green beans, crispy potatoes, bacon, tomatoes, and toast with melted chèvre. It was one of the best, if not the BEST salad I have ever had. The potatoes were perfectly crispy. The green beans and bacon paired so nicely together. The toast with the goat cheese brie (chèvre) was amazing. Everything from the flavor to the "meltiness" was incredible. My mom's salad had prosciutto, foie gras, crispy potatoes, duck gizzards, and tomatoes. She said EVERYTHING in her salad was to die for! (and that's an amazing compliment coming from her;)) She also said the duck gizzards were the best she's ever had! Everything had incredible flavor and texture. We had no complaints whatsoever! It is quite rare for a restaurant experience to be completely perfect. The wait was short, food was perfect, service was great, and prices were reasonable! If you are ever exploring the Sacre-Couer, or even just in Paris, be sure to stop by. You most definitely will not be disappointed!

Great little low-key but sometimes crowded bar in Montmartre. The staff was fantastic, friendly, personable, and funny! This is a non-tourist bar in Montmartre, nicely tucked away from the rest of the tourists, a block or so away from the Sacre-Couer steps where the throng of people and expensive/touristy bars and cafes are. It is sometimes heavily populated by locals so if you want to go and enjoy a table on the sidewalk, get there early. We would get there from between 4-5 and never had a problem getting a sidewalk table. The inside is just as fun with an eclectic style. So either way, you win by going here. We rented an apartment for a week (AirBnB) around the corner from this bistro and after a day of walking/sightseeing-it became our go-to place for drinks and quiet, infectious, fun with the Parisiens, some of whom we became friends with, making Paris even more special, and the recent event so much more personal and sickeningly sad. We are heartbroken. There was the occasional American couple who would stop by, find a seat and expect the waiter to immediately attend to their needs, they would wrinkle their noses at the cigarette smoke -outside only- and become angered because they weren't allowed to have TWO tables so both of them could "face the street" These people are shit ambassadors and luckily for us and the locals very few and far between. Ok back to the review,.... The Croque Monsieurs, cheese plates, onion soup, pommes frites, and massive salads were only a few items we tried. Not one disappointed us. The staff -who were fantastic-bought us a couple rounds of drinks when we told them we were leaving for Belgium the next day after they closed. I can honestly say that this is one of those places -for those who travel- where you FEEL like you belong, that for a brief time you FEEL Parisien. J'aime Paris. Mon cœur est avec vous, Paris! Vive la France !

Ahh yes! We walked by this place twice after we decided to stop on our last night in Paris. So glad we did! Although we only had beer it was delicious France beer, it was non touristy and the music, people watching, the smoke, the bikes passing, rude waiters, where just what I wanted from a Paris bar. Although the waiters where rude in the beginning, they totally opened up by the end of the night. The beer prices where perfect. Although I didn't see anyone eating I did see a food menu. The best thing about this place is that it closes late. And the awesome atmosphere.

    Warm goat cheese salad.

Good lunch, decent prices. I got the onion soup and goat cheese salad. My husband had the carpaccio. Everything tasted good and service was good.

Adding in the onion soup and a glass of wine... it quickly became a King's dinner at a very reasonable price. On a Friday night, it didn't appear there was much chance or walking in although there were like 2 open seats at what would have been a shared table. The menu is small and includes some typical French starters, steaks, 3 non steak entrees, cheeses, and dessert. All steaks come with potatoes, 3 sauces, salad. Service was a highlight. The waiter was personable and funny, had solid recommendations, and made sure leftovers were taken home. Also had a solid wine recommendation after asking some questions. They probably get a lot of people who don't speak French and they had no problem speaking English. The food- ordered a ribeye medium rare. The steak was so so charred on the outside and it almost ruined the whole thing. I really wish they would have charred it way less especially when it was ordered medium rare. There is seared and then there is burnt; this was sadly the latter. The steak itself was fine, honestly nowhere near the best meat I have had but the price is quite reasonable for how much you get. I would say the steak was maybe 6/10 for me, largely due to the cooking. The fries were phenomenal. Definitely a highlight and really tasty and with a great texture. Salad was good, pretty typical. I wanted to like the sauces more but found them just okay. The best by far for me was the blue cheese sauce but even this one I thought the flavors could have popped a little more. Atmosphere was fun, there were a few bigger groups (6-8 which is the biggest they accommodate) but it never got unreasonably loud. Overall I wanted to love it but was a bit disappointed even though the service and fries were both great.
