My family loves Aubergine, and this visit did not disappoint! This time I tried the Donny Bowl with falafel, and it was honestly a 10/10 -- super flavorful and really satisfying. Portions felt very fair, and everything tasted fresh and well-balanced. Also ordered the immune boost smoothie, which was both delicious and felt like a healthier treat. Service was decent overall, though my order took a bit longer than I've experienced at similar spots. That said, the restaurant felt very clean, and I really enjoyed the outdoor seating area. I love the concept of this place and really wanted to like it, but everything in my mango salmon bowl was bland and crying out for seasoning. There are so many well-labeled DF/GF/vegan options- bowls, plates, Acai bowls, desserts- the menu looks intentional and amazing (especially as someone who's DF). It's also a cozy, thoughtfully-decorated place. Anyone with food restrictions or anyone who likes fresh, healthy food could find something to eat here. The ordering process was lengthy and a little chaotic. I asked to sub the spicy mango sauce (which sounded great) for whatever came with my bowl, the cashier said it already came with that sauce, and it actually didn't. However, relying on a sauce to season an entire bowl of food is questionable- in the end, season the food while cooking it. I may still need to return to try the Acai bowls or DF dessert, but Vessel does the rest of this type of food better and more inexpensively. read more

I've been really disappointed with my last two visits. The food quality and quantity have both dropped well below what you'd expect from an $18-20 meal. The protein portions in particular have been surprisingly small. I ordered the tri-tip salad and the Power Pasture bowl on different visits, and both times I left feeling taken advantage of. The overall quality just isn't what it used to be, and at these prices, it's hard to justify. I wouldn't mind the smaller portions if the meals were under $15, but as it stands, the value just isn't there. I give this place 3.5 stars. I personally like Vessel better for the food, but they have smoothies and acai bowls here. This is healthy clean, food, so if you aren't into that tread slowly. This is the place you go to fuel up before a long run, mountain bike ride, hike etc.,. Try a smoothie or acai bowl first. They have some delish, healthy ones. It's on the pricier side too. If you do try a bowl make sure you get a sauce to go along with it even if it doesn't come with it for some more flavor. I had the tri tip maderia bowl and it had great flavor. Typically I'm quite excited to write a 1 star review, this is not the case this time. I really want to like this place, but they simply gave me every reason not to. The idea is great, no refined sugar in any of the food, and they don't even serve soft drink. There are also a lot of gluten free and vegan options. However, first of all, the way they have their line and ordering set up is terrible. Unlike every single other restaurant that serves food in a similar fashion, instead of ordering as you first get to the food, you have to wait until you get all the way to the cashier to order and pay. This results in people frequently needing to walk back to read the menu because they forgot exactly what the wanted, and an unnecessarily long wait in line. Second, after waiting in line for 10-20 mins, it took another 20 mins just to get our food. However, we watched the person that ordered after us get their food long before we did. When we finally got our food, it looked great, but was unfortunately extremely underwhelming. I ordered the trip tip bowl and the entire bowl was extremely bitter and didn't really have many other flavors. Each meal also comes with one of their "famous" cheese breads, and frankly, they are not good at all. They are gluten free and taste like a sponge with the tiniest hint of cheese mixed in A simple adjustment of how their line works would go a long way, and maybe even make we willing to give it another try read more

Aubergine is for those who want a bougie-r zupas experience. The restaurant is beautiful, and has nice seating well spaced from each other. The menu and the ordering system is very similar to zupas where you choose either a salad, sandwich or bowl, but with higher-end ingredients. I was excited to see their "sweets" menu with smoothies, icecream and desserts. I didn't get one but will have to next time! Their most popular items are highlighted in squares so I tried their spicy curry bowl. I didn't notice any spice but it was very delicious. I enjoyed the curry sauce, the yellow rice and the cheese bread! It was a big bowl and was very filling. I was hungry and left full with more than half of my bowl left. The only thing that was disappointing was that I was really craving a soda. They don't have a soda bar here. Just water and a bunch of teas and lemonade. I would have killed for a diet Dr Pepper with my curry! So bring a soda if you want more drink options. Other than that, it was a great experience. read more

Second time trying Aubergine, and while this location was much more open and attractive inside than the downtown SLC location, the prices for lunch for one are steep! $17-20 for a weekday lunch is just much higher than I want to pay on the regular for a go-to spot, even if the ingredients and options are fresh and look yummy. I settled on a smoothie, and was disappointed they only had cashew milk, and no alternative dairy options. Still went with the flow, but was again a bit sad when it was served super liquidy and semi-lukewarm. When I think smoothie I think of an icy drink that has been blended like a frap. Not so much thinking of a lukewarm milk flavored drink with mix ins. To pay more than $11 with tax plus more for tip for a small peanut butter chocolate smoothie was just too much, in my opinion, and kind of outrageous when it doesn't even fit the description of temperature/texture of a true smoothie. Prices are too high to tempt me for a return for the quality I received sadly. read more

I really want to love this place. I have eaten at the other locations and love the fresh look, the beautiful plants and nice ambiance. But this Farmington location is so poorly organized they need some serious counsel from an efficiency director. You stand a long time in line and go past all the food laid out where you "could" be telling them what you want in your bowl, but no. They want you to go all the way past that, to the cashier and then order. And then wait at your table for 20 minutes. You're supposed to tell the cashier what you want, but you forget and have to either go back through all the people in line to see and make sure you get what you want or just give up and order. You might try to tell them you want more kale and less rice, but you know that when your order comes it will be opposite of what you wanted. The ideal would be to tell the workers right there on the other side of the glass how you want it and then when you get to the cashier you have your meal and pay!! But they think there is something better than the ideal. They want you to wait in line, pass the food on display and then try to remember how you want the food dished up to your preferences, pay and then go to a table to wait 15-30 more minutes before you get your food. And then when it arrives you see they did not get it right. If I could give them some advice I'd say to have the line up of workers who have specific jobs. For instance, the first in line would put in the base for the bowl and move the bowl along to the next person who would add the meat, then move to the next person who would add the toppings---all the while, the customer is approving what goes in. Then, the bowl being ready gets passed to the cashier who rings it up and takes the customers' money and the customer is happy. Additionally, another worker could be nearby at the beginning to hear if the customer wants a smoothie or dessert and heads over to the dessert bar to complete the order and smoothly hands it to the cashier just in time for the customer to take everything to their table! Wow! That is the ideal!!! When they get more efficiently organized, I will delete this review. read more

How is this place getting any fewer than 5 stars??? The food was phenomenal. I got the Mediterranean bowl and wouldn't have changed a thing about it... def a first for me. There were flavors in that bowl I've never tasted before and can't wait to go back and experience again. The only thing was that I was confused where/when to order. I needed some arrows on the floor (didn't know which direction to go to order). I'm also STILL confused about if you order at the register or in the "food bar" line. Phenomenal food. I am not even a gluten-free or dairy-free person. Love that they have vegan options but also tri-tip. Be prepared for your food to cost $15+ but it is WORTH IT. Great service. Active Instagram account. Only thing I don't like are their drinks (juices all flavored with stevia I believe). They don't taste good. Just get a water cup. I love the food here so much I am considering driving down from Ogden to their event in April at UVU. I am so excited that they opened this restaurant near me! I have been 3 times in the past 2 weeks and everything I have tried has been delicious. I love how fresh and flavorful is and I love the idea behind their restaurant- all good-for-you ingredients and bo refined sugar. The employees were friendly, my food came out quickly, and they have gotten my order right every time (even my take out order!).
