Because a lot of brides were in a similar position, the owners decided to help COVID brides by having a $1k dress sale, as is, off the rack to take home. I emailed their store originally just for advice, and in part to vent. The owner, Brittany, was so compassionate and understood what I was going through. She let me know to email to make an appointment, and that they'd be more than happy to help me out. I decided to schedule my appointment a bit further out, on the off chance that my dress from David's Bridal came in beforehand. I'm so glad that we made the drive. Addie was so sweet and super helpful, listened to what I were looking for, and was patient while I was trying on different gowns. Even after buying my dress, the owner followed up with me and made me feel so appreciated and asked that we send pictures of our wedding. This is just the experience I needed, and I am so happy with the dress (will post after our wedding, can't spoil the surprise for my groom)!

When the dress came, it was massive (I wear a size 6) and had to be taken in 3" from the sides, 2-3"+ from the hemline, and the straps had to be moved. Basically, the whole top of the dress had to be redone. Since I live 2 hours away, I had my local tailor (who has very reasonable rates) do the tailoring and it cost $100. Sister's refused to reimburse me for the excessive amount of tailoring that was needed, even partially, and never acknowledged that they ordered me the wrong size. Furthermore, they did extra work on my sister's dress when she had it tailored at their store, charging her for work on the waist that was not needed (the fabric at the waist is sheer and falls A-line, so no tailoring was necessary). She too was ordered a larger size than needed (10) when an 8 would have fit her much better. Poor customer service, and what seems like intentional upsizing.

I live in the Washington, D.C. area and knew I wanted to knock out some dress purchasing while back home in the St. Cloud area during the winter holidays. We tried Celebrations first, but the selection there was quite paltry. Carrie Johnson had many more dresses and my consultant was great -- not pushy and just the right amount of attentive and energetically helpful. She was able to pull several dresses in my budget that fit what I was looking for. Would recommend trying for a weekday. She asked my daughter several questions then pulled several dresses that were on target. It was a very busy place. We had the 'rose room' in the back which was nice. It was lovely that they offered water and champagne to us. My daughter changed in a nearby room then had to walk to the 'stage' where we could see the dress. The lighting and mirrors were all nice. A similar style dress was a few hundred dollars more expensive here than in another shop we visited. Taylor did a nice job. She didn't ask as many questions as the other shop we went to but the dresses she pulled were right on. Parking in this area can be challenging but the nearby ramp provided ample parking. The shop was very cute and cozy. There were at least 3-5 groups in there so it was quite loud and busy. While we didn't get our dress from here, we had a very good experience. I loved their selection and fell in love with a dress here and my gosh I can't stop thinking about it. I had such a great team (bridesmaids) helping me out and honestly can't rave enough about this place. It's so hard picking a gown and having a stylist helping you out go though different styles is super helpful. I didn't feel pressured to make a decision then about the dress but I left feeling like I had found the one. Now I did continue dress shopping as I'm pretty early on my journey but know that when it comes to making a decision at the end it will come down to one of the dresses in this store ( not the one pictured here) Honestly trying on dresses can be uncomfortable for people that don't have the type of body dresses are designed for so I'm keeping that in mind. I'm petite, midsize, and on the curvier side so I already knew when I tried on dresses they wouldn't fit me completely or some wouldn't go passed my hips which was fine but I was still made super comfortable! To get park here you are definitely going to want to use the parking garage near by or try to find street parking but that can be a bit difficult. I wanted to avoid bigger chains and this shop seems to have not only variety but quality gowns. Some were not available in the color I needed, but this shop is a MUST for prom, wedding, homecoming, or a special date night dress. I ordered one that was cut beautifully and even though it would be blush and not white unfortunately it's too similar in the yoke and bodice to the bride's dress. Posh Bridal recommended we get our bridesmaid dress from The Social Room, so that is why we decided to try it out. From the moment we walked in, the place was chaotic with only two staff working. We felt rushed with very little help from staff. Received the dress one month before the wedding and it was WAY too small. The staff member who sized me for the dress, recommended the size ordered. The Social Room in no way will help with any kind of situation like this. Basically told me "it's too bad, you signed the paper work." Also, a family friend who is a seamstress, offered to help fix the dress. She stated taking out the hemming could potentially ruin the structure of the dress and it would be difficult to do so. The seamstress could not believe how far off the sizing was because the dress fit her daughter who is 3 sizes smaller than me. Not only am I scrambling to find a new dress one month before the wedding but I just spent a great deal of money on something that does not fit. Terrible customer service and would not recommend.

When we asked what we're supposed to do, and what David's Bridal could do to help us in this situation, the response offered to us was that "we'll refund her money". Thank you.
