Aubrey's was one of our favorite restaurants when we lived in Oak Ridge. We unfortunately moved to Oklahoma a few years ago. When we come back to visit our grandchildren, we try to get to an Aubrey's at least once. Today, we took advantage of their burger and beer day, our favorite special. They no longer have the thunder burger with pimento-cheese, jalapeños, and onion rings, so we got cheddar burgers, which were good. Kimberly took good care of us and was very friendly and personable. Went to Aubrey's with a group of friends I used to work with. I ordered the bacon salad. One of my friends had the Asian salad, another ordered the tuna sandwich, and someone else got the chicken sandwich. Everything that came out looked good. Honestly, I would have been fine eating any of those plates. Our server was excellent. She kept our drinks filled, checked in at the right times, and made sure the food came out quickly. Aubrey's had a relaxed atmosphere that made it easy for us to sit and catch up without feeling rushed. I ordered strawberry chicken salad. There was no grilled chicken but shaved deli chicken instead. Very disappointing and not up to Aubrey's usual standards. The service was excellent and my companions enjoyed their burgers but still disappointing. They were extremely crowded and the temperature was close to freezing and the conversation was loud. My friend wears hearing aids and I had to repeat myself several times due to the decibel level. Ill be back and I hope that things are better next time. read more

I had lunch with a friend on January 6, 2026. We often meet at the Aubrey's off of Papermill b/c it is located between the two of us. My meal is always good, but this time it was even better than usual. I got four sides-broccoli cheddar soup, thick cut potato chips, sautéed mushrooms, and well, you can never go wrong with more broccoli! It was all delicious, and the service was great. My friend got fish and chips, which was excellent, too. Of course we shared a dessert-the chocolate turtle cake was warm and rich, topped with the perfect pairing of vanilla ice cream. The reason I mentioned the date is that when I said to a manager that I had one of the best meals I've eaten recently, he asked if I would say it's the best I've had all year :) Great management and a goofy sense of humor, all in one! My wife and I have been dealing with Aubrey's since 1994 when there was one branch in Farragut. Since then Aubrey's has been a go to source of enjoyment. That iis until a year or more ago when we became painfully aware of the fact that the quality of the food was no longer what it was. Due to advancing age we no longer dine in but take out. Whether it be seafood pasta, patty melt, other dishes, the quality, flavor and heat of their takeout is not the same. I ask Aubrey's please make this better. read more

This is more about the customer service. I placed an order to go at the bar, there wasn't any seating at the bar rail, they told me I'm more than welcome to sit at a table and enjoyed a glass of wine while I waited. I love the steak bites, I order rare so if I need to heat them slightly when I get home, I can without the fear of them being over cooked. Once I got home, the steak bites were close to med well/well done. Even though the ticket clearly stated rare. I called just to touch base with the manager, for future reference. The manager was MORE than happy to correct this for me and was super apologetic and friendly. I was so impressed with the fact he didn't request I bring the food back, send a picture, etc. while the food wasn't 10/10 today, management and staff/service was! Staff is always knowledgeable about what's on the menu. They don't flinch at special requests. I miss the thunder road burger, but I have been told they will make it for you anyway. Came here on my first day of vacation. This was a nice surprise, this place was delicious! My husband and I started out with the 'Thick Cut Potato Chips' served with buttermilk ranch. They were hot, seasoned well and the ranch had a great taste to it. For our entrees, I ordered the Caesar Salad with a Loaded Baked Potato on the side. The salad was super fresh, had a great Caesar dressing on it and a HUGE baked potato. My husband ordered the 'Hickory Chicken' which was grilled boneless chicken breast, cheddar cheese, scallions, hickory bbq sauce over seasoned rice. He absolutely loved it. We went to several restaurants on our stay in TN and this was his favorite one. The service was super quick and friendly. Decent food but overpriced in my opinion. I had a house salad, a half turkey sandwich and iced tea for $19. My wife had the salmon tacos (2) and a baked potato for $17. With tax and tip $45. We had a large group (12) for lunch but the waitress stood at the head of table and tried to take everyone's order. Last night my friend and I had a great experience at this location. We both eat gluten-free, and it isn't often we get to order with such confidence at a restaurant. They gladly brought us the gluten-free free menu, and it was labeled correctly, which happens to be a rarity! We both go burgers and her kids ordered burgers off the kids' menu. We love sitting on the outdoor patio when the weather is nice. It's a large space just off the bar area which has a lot of televisions for watching games. The American style menu has a lot of options. Complimentary warmest bread is served prior to the meal. The best item on the menu is the strawberry salad with grilled chicken. So yummy! Eaten here many times for lunch. It's fast and pretty staple, fresh American fare. The servers and hosts have always been friendly and I've never had a problem with my meal. Had a business lunch here yesterday. I have enjoyed Aubrey's other locations but this one not often at all. "No problem " was phrase of the day from Karen our server for our group. What a fantastic lady she is! She was attentive without 'hovering'. We were supposed to have 7-8 people and not too long after being seated we learned there would only be 5 of us. (No problem, we didn't need to give up the large table we had) My allergy issue? (Not to worry, she checked it all out for me) So enjoyable. The group's food questions or changes went on, and Karen was on top of everything! (Hope the management promotes this lady, who has worked for Aubrey's 2 1/2 years I learned) Now for the food.... My Strawberry salad with grilled Shrimp (I requested a change from Chicken to shrimp, Blue cheese dressing, and goat cheese crumbles) was so fresh & crisp! I normally can't eat the whole bowl except this one was so tasty that it kept me eating as I didn't want to leave a bite behind. HH had his all time favorite of Fried fish and fresh made potato chips, with an added side salad. Nothing was left on his plate either. One member of our group had the Fish (?) tacos. She did comment that it is her regular order at most Aubrey's locations. She has found it varied in flavor from each location though this order was very good. One attendee liked his Chili bowl & Caesar salad. And lastly another of our group had To me a good server keeps note on drink levels on a table and NICE Karen was on top of that, she even surprised us how smoothly our drinks were replaced. I should be writing a Five Star review for Aubry's, but I just can't bring myself to do so. The food was worthy of one, but as it sometimes goes, a little thing pops up, and a star must go nova. Such was the case on my Sunday visit to this establishment. Our party consisted of 3 adults, and one Benjamin. Upon entering my daughter pointed to a sign, "Oh look dad, meatloaf", it was the special of the day. She knows her father. Since both her and my son-in-law rave about Aubry's, I knew that I was in for a good meal. We were seated immediately. Our server introduced herself to us, took our order, and in doing so displayed an unusual amount of, well, let's just say, character? This trait, was soon to manifest itself into something a bit more defined, not to be confused with refined. We had ordered soup with our meal, and when our server brought it to our table, one bowl that she held against her body, slopped onto her uniform. Rather than excusing this faux pas, and bringing a fresh bowl, she presented it to my daughter, who promptly requested a new bowl. The server had a look of surprise, but complied to the request. We all had a good laugh, even Benjamin joined in. Our main course arrived in a timely manner. The Salmon tacos were said to have been absolutely delicious. The sides outstanding, and my Meatloaf was of superior quality. Benjamin loved his broccoli, Mac and cheese, and MY tomato bisque soup. I tell you, that kid will eat anything. He has quite the sophisticated palate for being just shy of three. As the meal was tailing toward its end, our server came to check up on us. She engaged us in some nonsensical prattle, and before I knew it, my plate was gone! There were still a few bites remaining for me to enjoy! My daughter said,, "wait a minute, did she just take your plate?" This time our laugh was from the gut. We were thoroughly entertained. When our server came back for her final check on us, my daughter mentioned that this was my birthday dinner. "Oh, you get a free dessert" she said. On that, she grabbed my beer, which wasn't near empty! Whoa, whoa I said, your not getting away with this one. Again a huge laugh around the table. Despite our lovingly, ditzy server, our meal was a huge success. Dinner and a show, though our server didn't realize that she was center stage. Quick Tip: When seated at an Aubry's booth, choose a seat furthest from the grasp of an over zealous server. That way, you may get a chance to finish your meal. read more
