Absolutely the worst experience ever. We had a bad visit here a while ago, but thought we'd give them another chance. Big mistake. We had to wait over 20 minutes waiting for them to locate the car key - despite the fact that we called ahead and were told "we'll bring the car around for you." 20 minutes later, car key is located in the service area. We question why we are being led to the back lot and were told by the employee (his name starts either D) that the car wasn't ready, had to be serviced and wasn't inspected. Now, why would you list the car on the website if it was NOWHERE near ready to be sold. As if this wasn't bad enough ... the car was dead. "D" went to get the jump box. The hood piston was broken SO I HAD TO HOLD THE HOOD OPEN for this employee. What?! How unprofessional could this be?! Jump box was dead. Employee D went to get a bigger jump box and WHILE I HELD THE HOOD OPEN AGAIN, D said the second jump box was not charged. A second employee came out and said "You shouldn't be holding that hood." No crap. We walked out, got in our car and drove away. Literally the most unprofessional car dealership we've ever been to. I cannot believe they stay in business. read more

I got some salesman who used to be a news reporter. dont know where or how he was trained. One of the worst experiences I have had. 1. he tried to sell me warranty I did not need 2. acted like he did me a favor by trying out several different vehicles 3. Let me start this review by saying, I had a great experience when purchasing my car. Everything went very smooth. I purchased the vehicle in August 24, on June 7, 24 I had my vehicle towed to them due to the vehicle not holding a start. The reason I had it towed to them is because I thought my warranty was with them however it was not. I began working with Mark in the service department. I had to continue to contacting him for updates, instead of him contacting me. They ended up sending my vehicle to Southpoint Chevy on the second week of having the vehicle. Mark continued to tell me updates about my vehicle that were not true, was not calling me back after leaving several messages and was very rude. After being told my vehicle would be ready on on 6/21 I go to Auction Direct to find out it is not ready. I contacted the Chevy dealership myself only to find out most of the information Mark had given me was not true. I will never use this service dept. again. Thank you to Steve for fixing my issue when Mark was out of work after he told me he would follow up with me on Tuesday, knowing he would be out of the office. First time looking into this company. I bought my current car from this location over 15 years ago when it was Hertz Car Rental Retail, which I still wish was here. I called the day before to see if the car I was interested was there. It had just come in and I was told it would be ready the next day. We set an appointment for sometime between 10 and 10:30. I actually didn't make it there until around 11:15 and the car wasn't ready. I was told they had to detail it and it wouldn't be completely done, but they'd let me see it in about 15 minutes. Well it actually took another 30-40 minutes. The detail guy was nice and apologetic, but the salesmen didn't seem to care much that had I got there at ten as planned I would have been waiting two hours. The outside of the car was in pretty good shape and the inside was very well taken care of. It has a weird two tier dash where the speedometer is in the upper half and the rest is in the lower half. I found it really hard to see both at the same time. It was distracting in general and the wheel sometimes blocked seeing everything. It was just bizarre. It had a nice comfortable ride, but the instrument panel was too strange to deal with and drive at the same time so I'm passing on Civic's. All in all, not very impressed with the dealership based on this first time visit. read more

Jordan Maayah, our salesman, was very pleasant and, it turned out, very devious. In April 2024, we bought a 2017 Ford Focus with low mileage, at a price somewhat higher than that recommended by Carfax. All went smoothly during the visit, but we should have been more attentive when it came to the paper work. Jordon rushed us through "sign here, sign here, and here, and here" etc., He borrowed my phone and gave himstelf a 5-star review (which actually seemed more or less reasonable at the time). then he shook our hand, gave us a single set of keys and a 30-day temporary plate and sent us on our way (2.5 hrs away). The problems started almost immediatey. The information display went out. We had bought the optional 3-year "Ultimate" grade warranty for about $2,300. So - no big deal - it should be covered. BUT no! the insurance company had no record of our policy. There seemed to be some paperwork missing. Apparently the missing paperwork: our payment. It never got to the insurance company. It took A-D 3 or 4 weeks to get that straight, while the car waited in the repair shop before any work could start. Well, that was finally resolved and the work was done. Now comes the real and continuing problem. The 30-day tag ran out and we still had no license plate. Jordon said " there's often a delay. You always get 10 days grace period" Well, a month went by and we called DMV - you guessed it - no application had been filed for our car. Then we realized why - we never got a title! (so I don't think we really own the car). "Bizarre" was the first response from A-D. After multiple calls, they sent us a dealer's plate good through November. Of course that didn't give us a title or do anything except kick the can down the road. Many calls later the response changed to "Don't worry - this happens from time to time". As far as I can tell, that means they are admitting the place is selling cars illegally. I believe it's against the law to sell a car without a title. We still have no title and we still call almost every week. I guess it's time for legal action. The moral of the story is - if you must buy a car from these guys, examine everything thoroughly. Be sure you have a title. If you buy a warranty, be sure the policy is in effect. Better still, run, do not walk, away from them as fast as possible. read more

Knowingly sold me a car with bad rotors. I wondered why the back rotors looked so rusted when I got the car. Just found out why today because I had to get them replaced plus the brake pads after 8 months and less than 6k miles of driving. Stupid me trusting this dishonest dealership and thinking it's just rusty and no problem. Mechanic (not Auction Direct's thank God!) asked me if I left the car outside and rarely drove it. Nope. I park it in my garage and drive it almost everyday. He said they were in rough shape but that is how they came. I guess it was just a matter of time. Completely unacceptable from an honest (which this is NOT) car dealership. No problem. I got the warranty. After talking with a representative with an attitude, it is not covered. Auction Direct uses a third party warranty provider (United States Warranty Corp). Just look at its reviews online and you will never want to ever deal with such a scam company. Auction Direct salespeople are nice until you sign and they get your money then they could care less. Tim is a smooth talker but once he is done with you then goodbye and never see you later. Also, he straight up lied about cosmetic repairs that he said the company would take care of. He talked about how great their BBB rating is and how bad their competitors' BBB ratings are. Only thing is I looked into it and companies pay membership fees to BBB to get higher grades while companies who refuse to pay the mafia I mean the BBB get lower grades. Communication is terrible between departments. It took two months to get the cosmetic repairs that they promised after having to finally talk to management. My car sat in the parking lot for weeks while I thought they doing the repairs. Service department at Auction Direct are completely incompetent. One of workers said he tried calling me multiple times which is a lie then said there must be something wrong with my phone. I will never give them a penny of my business ever again! If you choose this horrible company then good luck you are on your own! I just hope I don't have any more surprise repairs because I'm sure the warranty company will weasel their way out of having to pay anything. It's not worth the risk in my opinion but if you stupidly do then DO NOT buy any warranty from this dishonest dealership. I would never sell a warranty from a third party that I didn't completely believe in. Just look at all the negative reviews and you will see the exact same problems. I don't know if the positive reviews are fake or they just lucked out but I have had horrible business from all departments and multiple people working here. Final Note: I'm including pictures of the original rear calipers when this car was bought since the pads and rotors were the only things replaced. Just look how rusty they are and rotors were exactly the same. NO CAR BEING SOLD WITH 28K MILES SHOULD HAVE A PART THAT LOOKS LIKE THIS! PERIOD! This is completely irresponsible and dangerous. The warranty they sold me doesn't cover this and I think they know that. I believe this company is switching good parts with old parts that are just laying around or from trade ins because my front ones do not look anywhere close to this bad. Maybe the previous owner parked only the front half of the car into a garage....STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! The entire company should be investigated. Update: I contacted the NCDOT since driving on faulty brakes is dangerous but they said they can't do anything legally because NC is a used car is sold as is state. I was also informed that brake rotors are not required to be looked at in a company's "inspection". So don't buy into any company's claims of inspections especially this terrible Company. Company responded on another site by saying they put "new" rear rotors on the car. Rotors should last 30k to 70k miles if that was the case but the ones that came with the car lasted less than 6k miles. I have the repair report to prove that. Just look at the pictures. My Subaru with 150k miles that has been parked outside for months doesn't have as rusty parts. I'm through with this company and done wasting anymore time with them because I DO NOT trust them. Here we are well over 8 weeks my biggest concern is how do you operate a car dealer but yet have people stranded/ carless and waiting on people to do their job. Car dealers like Auction Direct USA set car dealers back 30 years! The car was advertised online to have Satellite Radio. But upon inspection there was none. When I asked the supervisor to reduce the purchase price a few hundred dollars because the information on line was incorrect - His answer was "no". After signing numerous documents to buy the car, including a 30 day guarantee to fix any problems, I bought the car. Soon after purchasing the car I noticed that the trunk release latch located at the trunk was defective and needed to be replaced. So I had it repaired and the mechanic noticed other problems. The problems were actually minor, one lens cover on one turn signal was missing and the other turn signal unit had moisture in it and the antennae was beat and needed to be replaced. So I called the dealership back numerous times and received nothing but full voice mail for several days for selling employee and his boss . I eventually was able to speak to seller employee and I told him I had to repair the trunk and sent him the receipt for repair and noted the other problems. He said no problem we should reimburse you, but after he talked to his boss he reported that nothing was being covered by their 30 day warranty. I was told the defective latch was identified with their 120 point inspection and was previously repaired by them, and the other problems were just superficial. So their vehicle inspection is a Joke and the 30 day warranty is a lie! Don't buy a car from them unless you have the car inspected by your own mechanic. read more

She has been calling up there for 4 days now and no one is responding and or returning her phone calls. My husband and I were looking specifically for a Jeep Wrangler in Mojito. They are few and far between - matter of fact, only one Jeep dealership in Raleigh has them. AD had a used one with one owner, 7k miles at a GREAT price!! As soon as my husband returned from a business trip, we headed over there. We were both very impressed with how you are treated - greeted at the door, no hassle on price and the salespeople are paid commission by car and not how much you spend. They have a bar there where you can look up all of their cars, but we were there for one in particular only. I felt 100% like our AD sales guy was there to help us find the perfect fit of a car and not up sell us on something we don't need. However, just my luck, this car was just sold online only a few hours before we got there! However, Charles let us know the deposit was still pending, so he would let us know if it fell through and offered to help us find another car. In addition, the General Manager, Kevin, wrote us to thank us for dropping in and see if there is anything he could help us with. Amazing service. We wind up finding buying a new at the dealership, but my husband and I were just so impressed with AD. Auction Direct USA has a clever slogan and catchline, but when you understand what's really going on in the used car industry, there's really not much behind the smoke and mirrors. Dealer auctions are how used cars move from dealership to dealership. When you trade in a car at a dealer, there's a good chance that it'll go to one of the large car auctions and end up at a small used car lot somewhere else. New car dealerships typically don't want to keep a lot of used cars around (unless they're low-mileage and in excellent condition), and they're more interested in selling you a profit-heavy new car. And when a used car dealership tells you that they'll "look" for a particular car for you, what they're actually doing is searching the well-organized network of dealer auctions. This network is a well-oiled machine, and Auction Direct USA has figured out some clever marketing to capitalize on it. I test drive a _lot_ of cars (mostly because I like cars and I have a penchant for flipping them regularly), and I'm not above stopping at Auction Direct if there's something I'm curious about. But every time I do, I have to listen to the song and dance about how wonderful and different they are. What the salespeople seem to forget is that the "Auction Direct Reserve Price" is nothing more than an arbitrary price that they determine the car is worth. It's not the price that they paid for the car at auction. In other words, I could take your grandmother's beat-up '84 Chrysler K-Car and put a "reserve" price of $10,000 on it -- and in the case of Auction Direct USA, it would have the veneer of credibility. I'm also weary of dealerships like Auction Direct that bring cars from northern states down to the south. In addition to properly sweetened iced tea, southerners tend to enjoy rust-free cars. Buying a car that spent its first four years in New York State is no bargain at all -- and even if you have to pay a touch more for a car that lived all of its life in North Carolina, it's probably a better buy in the end. Now, I'm a huge advocate of buying used cars. There's simply too much of a depreciation hit with new cars, and buying new is really only worthwhile if you're the kind of person that wrings every last mile out of a car (and, preferably, someone who takes good enough care of a car to make it go "the mile"). So, my advice to anyone in the used car market is to do your research. Kelly Blue Book and Edmunds.com are great places to start. Craigslist, if for no other reason than to see what local private sale prices are like. Research all of the "fees" associated with the purchase price, and negotiate the crap out of them (since the only fees you're legally obligated to pay are the 3% highway use tax and the tag and title fees; everything else is dealer profit). And if you're paying cash, don't tell the dealer until you've negotiated the purchase price, since many dealers know they'll get a kickback from the financing company if they can sell you the financing (yes, that's a product with a profit margin for them too). Auction Direct has this all lined up a little too well for my liking, and i can see why they're profitable. Auction Direct has never done anything egregious to me, but they've also not proven that they're any better than the next dealership -- and with the abundance of cars from northern climates on the lot, I find I have to look really carefully before I get excited. Being in the market for another car I came upon Auction Direct USA due to the fact that my car was run over. First thing you have to do is prepare for a weird experience. Not bad weird, but different weird. It all starts when you drive up and there lot is fenced in. The only way to access the cars is by going threw the building and past the people. There is a front desk when you walk in and they ask for your information. They ask for your name, address, telephone number and email address just so that you can browse. I wasn't comfortable giving them out all of that information just so that I could see what they had on the lot. I was told I didn't have to give that information out if I didn't want to. I said if I was going to test drive a car, then I would give them my information, but not until then, I was just looking at that point. After I got past the front desk they assigned me a sales person who gave me the history of Auction Direct, and how everything was supposed to work. They took me over to a computer and pulled up a list of cars that was in the price range that I was looking for. We found the vehicles on the lot and and the salesperson gave me the key to start them up and kick the tires. He explained that each car goes through an 85-point inspection process, so each car is basically like new. I looked at the inspection report and then as I went over the vehicle I pointed out a couple of things the other inspectors missed. Simple things like, low coolant and the tire was really low on air pressure. The sales staff was very friendly, and easy to get along with. They really wanted to know if I was going to finance, or pay with cash. My thing is let me say I want to buy the vehicle first before you run my credit to tell me what the payment would be. No need to do all of that before I choose my vehicle. Or for those that believe in such things, before my vehicle chooses me. Overall I would say it was not a bad experience, but they did have a nice selection of cars, and the salespeople are not on commision trying to suck your blood and mark up the prices of cars too much. read more

This location sells "lemon" cars, cosmetically and mechanically masked to temporarily conceal problems to insure purchase of vehicles and short-term customer comfort in thinking one has a safe/reliable vehicle. Car sold to me has a multitude of hazardous problems. Paint was masked with concealer that wore off revealing a multitude of scratches and other cosmetic eye sores! I'm also dealing with engine and other hazardous issues, e.g., car broke down on me in the middle of no where a day after purchase! They promote their thirty-day service promise, but it is A JOKE because their in-house mechanics are unprofessional/rude, negligent and don't know what they are doing, most of the time! How else could so many of ADUSA customers be dealing with 'lemon cars'! If their service dept. and 125-point inspection were legitimate and free from deceptive tactics, the multitude of car problems for many customers (like me) would not be a factor so soon after purchase! Clearly, many of ADUSA cars are passing inspection with (and I quote, K.Condon) "bare minimum" parts and servicing! As to 'my lemon', Location Manager [K. Condon] was told about concerns and chose to ignore the issue. He is a master at ACTING like he cares, while at the same time presenting actions clearly indicating just the opposite. In other words, he only cares about himself, at the expense of many of his customers pains and heartaches having purchased lemon cars! He's a smooth talker and plays intellectual mind-games when responding to complaints. On site, he'd rather have his 'right hand'/Moussa deal with issues he should be resolving! He GENUINELY doesn't care about his customers! Also of note - The dominance of 5-star reviews, especially on other platforms/Big G, are manipulated by ADUSA management to filter valid and unfavorable reviews, which is a form of consumer deception/manipulation - controlling the ADUSA narrative/image. I came to yelp because I don't think ADUSA is controlling the narratives here. Trying to 'hide' negative customer reviews is NOT fair to consumers searching for honest/legitimate business feedback! I am here (typing a book) because I GENUINELY do not want anyone to face the pain, disappointment and stress I am currently weathering! Basically, I have a new car that's NOT SAFE to drive! Bad experience. They have a fence around their lot and won't allow customers to look at cars without a guide. This is very frustrating and literally no other car dealership does this not even CarMax! So we walk in the main building to get to the fenced lot (assuming it was similar to CarMax) and proceed to walk back and were stopped by the guy at the front desk. We were told we were not allowed to look at their cars without registering with him and without someone to "guide us." He's asked for my personal information, phone number, email, and when I refused to give it to him he called the manager over because apparently I was a problem customer for wanting to be left alone. The manager was actually very polite and told me to go ahead and look, no problem, but the whole thing felt like they thought they were doing us a special favor by letting us look independently without a pesky used car salesman at our side. read more

I truly enjoyed my experience at Auction's Direct. I had gone to their website and printed off SIX cars that I wanted to look at. I ultimately test drove three and purchased one. Shane was our salesman and he made the experience very pleasant. He showed me the cars I wanted to look at and didn't try to change my mind or pressure me into something else (which I can't say about any OTHER dealership where I looked!) It was a very straight forward process where all the information was disclosed from the beginning. It was easy for me, which I really appreciated since I'd never bought a car before (my first and only car having been a gift when I graduated HS over 10 years ago.) I was nervous but they made it so simple that I really had nothing to worry about. The car I finally drove away had more frills than I intended (I hadn't planned on leather heated seats or remote start!) but even with them, I had not seem it at a better price!!! So the car was the make/model I was looking for, in the price range I was looking for and there was NO pushy, slimy salesperson full of BS? No wonder I bought my car here! Things started off great. i completed an online inquiry and i was contacted right away to make an appointment. I ended up purchasing a car, however still needed to schedule for a sunroof to be installed and we were promised a repair would be made to a small ding on the door. After leaving the dealership, communication lacked. I was told to text the salesman i was working with, whose communication was inconsistent. i texted him several times to confirm and reschedule service and it took emailing to get anything done. FFWD to Dec 27th the day of my appt at 8:30- no one at the dealer is aware of my scheduled appointment and the salesman i was working with is nowhere to be found. prior to, i wasn't told anything about how long the repair would take and wasn't given any information about the appointment- no email confirmation. I called the service center on site ahead of time but they also knew nothing about my repair since it was being done by a third party. i live out of state so scheduling is vital. they tell me it can take up to two days but not sure. I leave the car and my info- no one calls to update me about the car- so i have to call to follow up . I'm just just very frustrated and disappointed in the communication and seemingly empty promises to repair things just to make the sale and get us off the lot. I was initially happy to purchase the car but the follow up and lack of communication has soured my experience and I honestly wish i could just return the car. read more

I have been thoroughly impressed with my car buying experience here! Kenia, Chandler and Luke were all great to work with. They helped me put a hold on a car that was new to the dealership and kept me updated on the status of my sale. I was offered great financing options through a lender they use and even when I went through my bank for a loan they worked with me to get all the necessary paperwork so could have my car delivered quickly. This process was so much better than the dealerships I also visited during my search for a gently used car. read more

I purchased a truck on the 28th of April 2023. At this time the vehicle was not on the lot they brought it from the back, so I assumed it was a good vehicle. I never cranked the car they brought it out to me knowing it was a bad vehicle. The very next day as I cranked it, I noticed a loud scrubbing noise. I contacted them right away which had not been a whole 24hrs. They scheduled me to come back that following week. From that day forward I got the vehicle back, but the issue was not fixed. The noise was worse. After doing this back and forth for about 3 weeks I asked to just trade BC It was not good truck, They denied me and from that time on kept making excuses to fix it. Finally in October after waiting for them to let me know about a vehicle to drive BC they didn't have a car to trade while fixing mine. They let me know at the end of October that they wanted nothing else to do with fixing the truck BC they couldn't figure out the problem. So instead told me to let my warranty deal with it. After speaking back and forth with them I was told they won't cover the truck for anything BC the problem was Auction Direct problem from the beginning and my warranty could not be used to cover this vehicle at all BC of it. Not only have I lost money on paying for this warranty monthly but Auction Direct never applied my $3000 payment to my $15,000 purchase. They keep ignoring me and will not return any of my phone calls. I have left thousands of messages. They took my money and purposely stuck me with a vehicle that they knew was already messed up. Even the general Managers have not called me once to even act like he care. its BC I'm Black African American and I have videos and recordings of how I was being treated. from the beginning the rep I had I asked for another BC I felt like he did not like me or care to help BC of my skin color. Guess I was right, especially after he brought out a vehicle knowing I wouldn't recognize the issue unless i cranked it myself. which is what he did. brought it from the back made me think nothing was wrong with it. I could never trust this company again and I advised anyone to think twice before dealing with this company. read more

Four years ago I bought a car from them. After several attempts to get a vibration at highway speeds fixed, I gave up. I had the tires rotated at Pep Boys and they noticed the wheels on the passenger side were bent. I had them straightened and the vibration was better but not fixed. AD had given me a CarFax saying that the previous owner had hit a mailbox and had minor damage. Bent wheels aren't minor. I took it to get tires put on and they found a bent CV axle. Again, that is not minor damage and after replacing that most of the vibration is gone. Still haven't changed anything on the back yet but perhaps that will fix the issue. What a wonderful person that mechanic must have been, trying to fix all that issue with rebalancing my tires several times. Not...never again will AD get any of my money. When you abuse the colors of our nation, you deserve to go out of business. read more

I put down a $300, non-refundable deposit on a 2012 Hyundai Elantra to be shipped down from NY. 67,000 miles. The pictures were great. The maintenance record looked nice. Sales guy told me there would be no problem with rust, which was my main concern. When it got here, they informed me it needed its brakes replaced. Ok, nice. Then it needed a radiator replaced. On a 2012...I finally look at it, and as you can see in my picture, the bright orange rust all over the wheels is visible from yards away. There is rust all over the undercarriage. Either a different car or strategic pictures. This abused car is not worth almost 10 grand by any means. That is $300 down the drain and several times I left work early to waste time. I am just upset that there is nothing you can do if car dealerships want to be seedy. All I can do is add my one star review, just a drop in the bucket. read more

5 out of motherfu**ing 5 okay! Listen I have "rebuilding" credit which makes it very challenging for me to get into a car. Not only that but I also co signed to other persons vehicle which makes it EVEN MORE DIFFICULT. I was stressed for 2 days bro. Kid you not STRESSED. so I thought in my mind that my friend who actually went to auction direct got approved and i thought id give it a shot. Literally 1 hour later Bill shot me a call and within a few hours I was approved.. APPROVED. Words I didn't think I would be able to hear because of how hard it was the first couple days. And because of covid I pretty much got to go in there for an hour sign some paper work and I am out. In a newer model jeep patriot. I cant emphasize how much I appreciate Auction direct Rochester NY.
