I don't usually write long reviews, but this experience truly deserves one. I own an older Mercedes (2014) that originally came with a very small screen and no CarPlay. Wanting to modernize my car, I purchased a larger aftermarket screen with CarPlay. In an effort to save money, I had the screen installed by a friend. The screen itself looked great, but there was no sound. What we didn't realize at the time was that Mercedes vehicles automatically activate an anti-theft security feature that locks the radio when an aftermarket unit is installed. Over the course of almost two months, I tried to find a solution. I called multiple repair shops and mechanics, explaining the situation, only to be told repeatedly that they would not touch a Mercedes once the anti-theft system had been triggered--especially with an aftermarket screen. I even took my car to the Mercedes dealership, assuming this would be the most straightforward solution. Instead, I was told it could become very expensive and that there were no guarantees the issue could be resolved. By this point, I was incredibly frustrated and close to giving up. As someone who loves music, driving without sound for that long was surprisingly upsetting. That's when I finally called Audio Car LLC and spoke with Paul. Even though he was fully booked, I scheduled an appointment, holding on to a bit of hope. The moment Paul turned on my car, he immediately knew what the problem was. That alone was incredibly reassuring after weeks of uncertainty and conflicting information. To my absolute joy, Paul called me the very same day to let me know my car was ready--and fully working. The sound was restored, the CarPlay functions beautifully, and the new screen works exactly as it should. After almost two months of frustration, the relief I felt was enormous. As someone who loves music, having music in my car again means everything to me. Paul's knowledge, experience, and problem-solving skills are exceptional. This was clearly not a simple or routine fix. It wasn't inexpensive, but the outcome and the level of expertise made it well worth it. What mattered most to me was that the job was done correctly by someone who truly understands automotive audio systems--especially when it comes to Mercedes vehicles. I am delighted to have found "Audio Car" and wish to share my excellent experience!! My after-market Apple Car Play system (installed one year ago by an out-of-state professional audio car stereo business), suddenly stopped working. Though I tried to fix it myself by following the instructions in the product's manual & YouTube guidance, I was unable to do so. I found Paul and Audio Car through a Google/Yelp search and scheduled an appointment. Paul promptly greeted me on the day of appointment, and proceeded to check my IPhone & WiFi connections with my car and within 5 minutes, he diagnosed and fixed the problem!! He is a genius! We contacted Audi Car to install an up-to-date sound system for our daughter's 2004 Toyota Landcruiser... a vintage four wheel drive classic, for those unacquainted with the Landcruiser. Paul at Audio car was extremely helpful and efficient in explaining what he could do, and in procuring the necessary parts, and was SO accommodating to work with, as our daughter was in town and back out between Palm Desert and San Diego. Paul worked overtime to get the work done, when she was able to bring the car back to him. We are DELIGHTED with the new sound system and what it can do, and with Paul's explanations and demonstration. On a whim, I decided to see what could be done to replace an outdated and poorly performing radio in my 2006 911. The factory system was never very good, and, more recently, began jumping stations for no apparent reason. I did a quick search and found Paul. I am so happy that I did. He was exceptionally knowledgeable and knew exactly what my options were and what to do. We found an available aftermarket trim kit with much of the required connections he needed. The new system is now installed and looks great. Plus, I now have Bluetooth, Apple Car Play, and a backup camera all fully and seamlessly integrated. None of these capabilities preexisted with the factory version. Paul was reasonably priced, excellent in communication and thorough and timely with the installation. I highly recommend him if you want a nice installation in your ride. read more

Paul was fabulous... I'd spoken to three places, he met price and his Google reviews are all 5 star. I can see why! He knew I was embarrassed about the wood chips in my floor mats (old driveway in OR) and vacuumed my car. I waited in his lounge..I got the fancy chair, the remote to the AC and access to the fridge for snacks. An all around nice guy, saw him Wednesday, he ordered immediately and did the install on Friday. There was an interface glitch in the car play and he traced it back to reversed wires on the pre-made harness needed for a GM car. Took care of that quickly. It was just a delight. A nice guy doing his own thing and good service for a good price. Kind of a rarity these days. Admittedly this ride is only a Saturn Vue but I'd have taken him my, I don't know..A3, or my Morgan! Only I don't own either anymore..LOL read more

I had a speaking in my car stop working. I called AudioCar and they suggested I come in right away. I showed up 20 minutes later and they took me in right away and fixed the issue in less than an hour. And for a reasonable price. I figured I would need to leave the car for at least a day or two; and instead, 45 minutes and I was out! Thanks AudioCar. read more

I would not use Audio Car or its owner Paul who I found to be irresponsible, unprofessional and unbusinesslike. On no less than three occasions, I drove to his shop which is about a 25 minute drive from my home to have him and his tech, who he said was familiar with older car radios, look at my non working radio. The first 2 times after making appointments, he told me when I arrived that his tech was not available. No call or text beforehand to cancel or reschedule. This morning, I arrived at his shop for a prearranged appointment at 9AM. The shop was closed and he was no where to be found. I left him a voicemail to which he did not respond, At 9:30, I texted Paul that I was leaving, having wasted still another trip (close to an hour round trip). The shop was still closed and Paul had not arrived. A little after 10, Paul called and claimed he had the time of our appointment confused. I'm done with Paul and his irresponsible, unprofessional behavior. read more

Recently bought a 2nd home in the area and brought the BMW convertible down so we could use it more. Apparently the USB cable in the car audio system decided to fail. Contacted Paul to see if he could fix it and he got me in quickly. After looking at it he found the USB cable was hardwired and could not be replaced. We weren't overly fond of this system anyway and discussed with Paul our options. We ended up getting a dual DIN 7" display with a backup cam, which we had wanted because this BMW is a bear to back. Also now have Apple CarPlay and makes navigation so much easier. Paul's installation was the cleanest I've ever seen. His shop is spotless and he takes pride in his work. Highly recommend Paul and his business, we will be back when the need arises. read more
