Whenever I'm craving Italian cuisine, Augie's is one of the first restaurants that pops up into my head. I have dined here multiple times and have always left with a happy tummy. As soon as you walk in, you will notice the classy, chic décor of the dining area; it gives off old Hollywood vibes. The seating is tight and the restaurant is on the smaller side, so I recommend making a reservation as it can get busy. The hostesses and servers are friendly, attentive, and personable. I always end up having good conversations with my server haha. As soon as I sit down, I'm already in a good mood because their complimentary bread served with olive oil and butter is to die for! During all of my past visits, I've never been disappointed with a dish. They have specials so there's always something new to try on the menu. Just a heads up, they are BYOB! These are some of my personal favorites: -Chicken Francese ($23.95) - The chicken cutlet is so tender, and the chefs get the francese sauce just right. It's a perfect balance of white wine, lemon, butter, and egg. You have the option of adding one free side: (1) potatoes and vegetables OR (2) pasta (angel hair, penne, rigatoni). -Pasta Limon ($31.95) - HEAVENLY... This dish consists of angel hair pasta in a creamy sauce that's a combination of lemon, parmesan, and butter. It comes with chicken and shrimp. -Fig di Sicilia Pizza ($17.95) - This has always been my #1 favorite appetizer, but sometimes it tastes better than other days. When it's made to my liking, it's basically a thin flatbread topped with mozzarella, fig marmalade, prosciutto, and arugula. This appetizer is the reason why I started eating figs LOL -Cannoli - These are HUGE and their ricotta filling is absolutely delicious! I have to roll myself out the door after eating here! Came in on a Saturday evening with a group of 8. We had a reservation so we didn't have to wait long to be seated. We started off with the Stuffed Mushrooms and Crispy Calamari for appetizers. They were pretty good and tasted exactly how you'd expect them to taste. For my main course, I ordered the Rigatoni Monachina. I liked the mix of eggplant and pignoli nuts in this dish. The only negative was that it was a bit too salty. We also shared Truffle Mac & Cheese. It basically tasted like regular Mac & cheese and is not worth the price. For dessert, we ordered the Chocolate and Vanilla Gelato and it was also pretty straightforward. Our server was lovely and was very attentive. I've read other reviews of how slow service was, but we waited 30 minutes max for our food after placing the orders. The restaurant does have a homey feel to it. There are 3 sections of the restaurant and noticed that they packed our room with 3 large parties when another room was completely empty. I guess the this caused the other guests to feel overheated so they opened the door and it became way too cold. It was also difficult to hear our conversations due to how loud the restaurant became. There was a "convenience fee" so just making future diners aware of the extra 2.7% you will have to pay at the end of your meal. Overall, not a horrible experience, but feels a bit overpriced for the quality of the food. May not be my first choice in the future. read more

A great and delicious spot for some Italian food! We started off with some warm bread and ordered calamari, a ceasar salad, and chicken parm. Everything was absolutely amazing. The calamari was fresh and the ceasar salad had the perfect amount of dressing. The chicken parm was my favorite part of the meal. We substituted the tomato sauce with vodka sauce and it was the best thing we could have done! It was cheesey and super delicious, I would order it again! We ended the dinner with a tiramisu. Nothing pisses me off more than spending $30 for an entre, then after eating, go to the nearest pizzeria for a few slices. Ordered Shrimp fra Diavolo, sauce was thin like water, 4 shrimp, 3 clams and about 6 mussels. pasta??? What pasta. One of the few times when asked how was your meal I let them know it sucked. O, can we bring you more I was asked. My comment was if you cant get it right the first time you are in the wrong business. One additional thing to mention. My dish came with penne which is my least favorite type of pasta (I should have been specific and ordered spaghetti). The atmosphere and setup when we got there was intimate and a cross between a chic little cafe and 1920s embellished decor. Setup was very nice, my only complaint is their seating with the booths (blue large backed ottoman style booth opposite chairs at a 4 top, is awkward to get in and out of next to another table. Considering cutting down a seat or two to make the space more comfortable and less crowded would help. Service was very slow, but I fault the cafe for being understaffed with the amount of tables they have, it's too much for the low staff count. Despite having a reservation and being a very low key group of 3, we waited about 45 minutes to even get our 1 appetizer served and it was an hour and a half before we got dinner. In the time we were there we saw 2 groups opposite us not only get their dinners, but also dessert and checks. Again not faulting the server with the number of tables being monitored, but simple things like getting bread to the table were forgotten until they looked at our table and realized we'd been sitting for awhile and it hadn't been delivered. Had to get up multiple times to ask the server or even the hostess to fill our water glasses. Of the dishes served the only standout was the chicken milanese. Our friend who's birthday we went there to celebrate really enjoyed it and that's what counted. Bread was good, but should preface to diners that one option has some spice, bread was probably the best part. We also ordered Spiedini Alla Romano, Butternut Squash Ravioli, house salad with grilled chicken, and short rib ravioli. The Spiedini was not well pan fried, it was soggy and seemed like it had been sitting out as it was not hot upon delivery and overly salted. The butternut squash ravioli were overly done with the pan fry and were difficult to cut/chew, but the filling was good. The short rib ravioli were undercooked at the edges and the filling was so disappointing. It tasted like store bought with a mix of pureed meat and ricotta, in no way did it taste or look like short rib filling and once again quite salty. Salad was OK, but for what is being charged I'd expected more than just iceberg lettuce and more of a blend. Dressing on the salad was good and grilled chicken was done well. We didn't even bother to stay for dessert since we were there over 2 hours just to get dinner. We also didn't want dessert to be a disappointment and chose to go elsewhere. read more

Augie's, you are still five star, in my book but you have some management training to do. This is our go-to spot for dinner out with friends and family. Last night, Jodi was our waitress. She is a dynamo and can work that dining room flawlessly, making each table feel as though they are her favorite. Annie wasn't waiting tables at that location last night, but she's equally amazing. We saw her on the way out and it was like bumping into an old friend. These ladies give Augie's the warm and welcoming vibe we return so often for. Our dinner, as always, was delicious. The Chicken Arrabiatta is my favorite. I didn't remove a star because the restaurant and their hardworking front-line staff and kitchen deserve it but last night we encountered the only hiccup we have ever experienced at Augie's. We had a reservation at 7:30 for 6 people (4 friends who had never been there before) We arrived 5 or 6 minutes early and checked-in. We ran into other friends in the parking lot who were going to try to get in but who did not have reservations. As we approached the dining room, we saw a table clearly laid out for 6 people but when we checked in, we were told our table wasn't ready. Ok so we waited, and waited, and waited.....over 10 minutes in their tiny vestibule, trying to chat with friends while moving in and out of other customers' way. You can imagine how we felt when the 4 people who didn't have reservations were seated before us. Bella, the very sweet hostess, apologized and assured us we would be seated soon. She was unable to explain why we weren't allowed to go to our table. She did offer that the kitchen was unusually busy and that might contribute to the delay...I don't understand why we could not sit at our table, open our wine, visit comfortably and be informed that we would have to wait a few minutes to put our order in, instead of being made to stand at the entrance for over 10 minutes. Equally puzzling is why a party of four, without reservations, would be seated before a party with reservations given that both tables were equally available. It was very poor management. The skill to work that out and keep everyone happy are fairly elementary. What's worse is that once we were seated, the manager came over to us to ask how we were and we expressed our thoughts. She did not understand where she went wrong and was not apologetic. I don't even think she understood that we were unhappy. I really hope that the owners of this dear restaurant know the value of their staff and also hope they will acquire better problem solving management. Augie's has built up and great clientele and busy nights will be a regular occurrence. You need someone who doesn't panic and alienate your loyal customers. read more

I had dinner here last night with my BF. I have already been to their sister restaurant Cork & Crust and loved it, so we decided to give Augie's a try. The hostess/manager was friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and makes you feel as if you are sitting in a friend's or relative's cozy home. Our server, Gerry was very attentive. We were brought the most delicious bread with olive oil & butter to snack on while we reviewed the menu. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms and clams fra diavolo to start. The mushrooms and the brandy cream sauce were delicious. The clams unfortunately. were extremely salty. So salty that I only ate 1. My boyfriend agreed they were quite salty but continued to eat them anyway. He ordered the veal milanese and I ordered the short rib ravioli. I looked at the menu before we went to the restaurant and I was looking so forward to trying this dish. Our dinner took a very long time to get to the table and when it did arrive, mine was cold. I guess someone forgot to run it to our table. Despite that, I was willing to give it a try because I was starving and it looked delicious. To say that I was beyond disappointed is an understatement. Salt, Salt, Salt. The chef must have been told at some point that they needed to use more seasoning in their dishes. A pinch more, not a fist full. It was cold and it was so salty I didn't/could't even eat it. Fortunately my BF loved his dish, which I did try and it was absolutely perfectly cooked. The entire dish, with the buratta and lemon balsamic sauce was delicious, perfectly balanced. I was so disappointed in my personal dining experience because I had such high hopes for A.T. The manager/hostess (I am so sorry I forgot her name) came to our table to apologize for our dining experience, removed my dish from the bill and offered literally everything she could to make it right. I ensured her I would not write a horrific review and I hope as you read this, you would understand, that perhaps last night the chef was off his/her game and I happened to be the winner of a subpar entree. I will 100% return to A.T. because of their service and willingness of the manager to make us, their customers happy with our dining experience. Everyone deserves a second chance (with less salt). And everyone should receive reviews with constructive criticism that will make them better at their profession. This review is by no means meant to prevent anyone from dining here. Quite the opposite. These folks will go above and beyond to make your dining experience exceptional and they will admit quiet humbly when they have not met your expectations. Give them a try. Dined here for the first (official) time tonight with my boyfriend, The atmosphere is so cute. It's elegant and extremely classily decorated. The service is outstanding. Michelle is attentive, fast, and actually has a "I hope you enjoy your food" attitude, which is rare for servers. The food. If I could eat more I would. But I think I would pop. For an appetizer we got the steamed mussels white wine, entrees were the gluten free pasta limon and the Dijon salmon with potatoes and veggies, everything was DELICIOUS. Flavorful. Not a great experience. Very slow service, multiple requests (simple, like a drink, red pepper and Parmesan) were never granted, food took forever and was average at best, everything was dripping in dressing and sauce, restaurant was so loud you can't hear your own conversation. When we left, the hostess mgr. looked at our tab then openly guffawed at our tip. I asked if there was a problem and she said 'well you tipped 10%'. I informed her that it was actually over 15% and why we did so. So the term "lipstick on a pig" is the first thing that comes to mind after last night's dinner. We had been to the predecessor Raw on a few occasions and the last time was just bad, but I digress. They changed the paint, left the furniture and kept the fig pizza which was a standout and still is, but a leopard can't change its spots and the food just wasn't good. The kicker was being unable to split the bill on 3 credit cards because of "poor Wi-Fi", which I've never heard before. We wound up paying cash, luckily all 3 couples had cash, but still paid some ridiculous convenience charge, usually reserved for credit card purchases. Simply mind boggling. They should close this place and Fig and Tomato and focus on Cork and Crust which is clearly the crown jewel of this struggling group. read more

This is my first review ever. But I'm so unhappy with my evening out with my family that I had to sound off. Christmas Eve we decided to try Augie's. Things happen; I get it. But it took 2 hours for our entries to come out. And no warning. Nothing said. My Lasagna comes out burnt. It was not good. At the end of this nightmare. I get 1 Apology and the bill full up. Like I owe them 1. I'm sorry I owned a business for 30 years and when I screwed up I always tried to make it right. No attempt what's so ever. My first and last time going there. You not only lost a customer but whoever asks me I will not be Recommending Augie's. And our waitress didn't have the courage to bring us the bill. She had the bus boy bring us the check. Went to try Augies after visiting Cork and Crust, it's sister restaurant, a few times. The service was fast and pleasant. The fried calamari is a must try appetizer at these establishments. I ordered the La Zanabella for dinner and it was fantastic! Perfect blend of sauce, pasta, chicken, and flavor. Also, the old school playlist they had on was a real treat to listen to while we dinned. Will definitely be going back! read more
