Not my vibe! We got here around 8:30 and was able to be seated for a table for two. We got sat, had to wait a bit for menus. Waitress finally came over and we ordered the arancini, which was on special. Waitress took the menu to check if that was on there because she seemed confused when I ordered it. The arancini were for sure frozen and refried. Just not good and bland. The bread was the best part tbh but I'm not sure about whatever the dipping sauce was. I'd rather just butter. My bf was disappointed with the cheese raviolis - they were not hearty at all. The chicken parm was okay. I didn't love the red sauce and hate that the penne was drowning in sauce, just not much to break up the flavor of it. There was a guy playing guitar and the overall atmosphere of this place is just not there. Ceiling tiles are dirty, bathroom was dirty and not well maintained. Came here for a large family party. They are a byob restaurant so if you're looking for a drink this is not the place, but we all brought wine so it didn't matter. The chef personally knew my great aunt and uncle and continuously checked in on us after greeting us personally. The staff were speedy and thoughtful. Not a single person or item over looked or came out wrong. Now for the food. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of everyone's food, but everything we ate was incredibly tasty. The seafood salad was a light treat that I had was a light treat before my meal which I certainly recommend. I had the chicken arugula which was robust and drowning in yummy flavors. My fiancee had the veal which was tender and well breaded. My mother had the sole that I absolutely loved. The bread dip here is so die for!!! Loved the bread. This is a review of the catering only. Granita Grille catered lunch for a large group of us and did a great job. They also were a key to provide a lot of gluten free dishes, which was very helpful. The calamari was great, very tasty. I was the most surprised by the potato croquettes; they reatined enough moisture in transit and were the hit favorite highlights. Other highlights included the sausage and peppers, and chicken marsala. 100% would order their catering again. read more

I eat fairly regularly at Granita Grille. I am always happy here. I love bringing my own wine. Who doesn't?! Food here is fresh and tastes good. You can order pretty much anything on the menu and you will be happy. I recently had my son's graduation dinner here. 15 people. I was not the only large party on a Saturday night as well as a full restaurant with customers. I mention this because I was happy with how smoothly everything went. I did pre order appetizers for the table. Calamari, antipasto plates, eggplant rollatini, clams and...everything delish. We had extras to take home. Salad was next, freshly made. Place was noisy and packed, like a restaurant in Manhattan. Perhaps just as moderately overrated, too? Nothing memorable about our food, whatever it was, and the service was adequate. Mostly I remember the awfully pungent seafood dish someone next to us got just as we sat down. I absolutely cannnot stand the smell of seafood. I don't know what the hell it was except that it was fish and the odor ruined my appetite. I wish I requested another table, but it was so full with everyone seemingly on top of each other I figured it would be a wasted effort. Willing to revisit the place on a less busy night. It has been years since we ate at Granita Grill. We went on a Friday night and they had the guitarist there who is outstanding. He played a variety of different songs and played for a while. To start, they give you two types of bread. One of them tasted like a pizza. The dipping sauce was also delicious. For appetizers, we split the fried calamari and eggplant rollatini. The eggplant rollatini was a little cold but the fried calamari was good, not great. For entree, I had the chicken parm and ordered the vodka sauce for the pasta. The chicken parm was good, but I have had better in the area. Overall, a good BYOB restaurant so we will be back. read more

Granita Grille was an unexpected absolute pleasure to dine at and my experience demonstrated why they are celebrating their 25th anniversary. The restaurants was bustling and packed in a great way and felt warm and inviting as soon as you walked in. With live acoustic music playing for all the diners. The staff was super friendly and our waitress was a delight. The food was absolutely delicious right down to the massive basket of bread at the table which include numerous pieces focaccia that when dipped in the tomato vinegar mixture on the table was superb. My husband and I got a stuffed artichoke and the seafood salad to start and the stuff artichoke blew us away. It was massive, seasoned great and just looked gorgeous. The seafood salad was fresh and dressed perfectly and also a massive portion. For an entree, I got scallops and was so happy I did. each scallop has a beautiful char on the outside with a tender inside. The scallops had the natural sweetness you want and it was clear they were extremely fresh. It was served on a bed of artichokes and mushrooms which was lovely. My husband got the pork chop special and the pork chop was so juicy (it had me wishing I got this dish) and the hand cut potato chips it came with were the potato chip we all dream about. This was a great experience and I would definitely go again if I was in the mood for Italian! If you are looking for classic Italian fare that is executed right this is the place to go. read more

It was good tasting but it was only lettuce. They should have added a bit more to add to taste & color. Shaved carrots or a few cherry tomatoes would have been nice. The bread was delicious and they brought out a spicy dipping sauce as well as olive oil. Prices were very reasonable and service was great too! I'll start off with my basic icks. The ladies room is a one person set up and it was in use by the hostess. The paper towels were on top of the sink not loaded in the machine next to it which is disgusting. They were a wet unsanitary mess. No one wants to dry their hands on a wet dirty roll of towels. Why would there be an old, huge upholstered chair in the ladies room? Get Can't wipe that down to clean-it. Light switches outside the bathroom were the dirtiest I've ever seen. Really filthy. If I wasn't with a group I wouldn't have ordered and would have just left. There was an amazing guitarist but the restaurant failed to shut their piped in radio station off while he was playing which I pointed out, out of respect for the musician. Stuffed artichoke was absolutely delicious and worth a trip back for. They should keep that as their special. Caesar salad was not good. My daughter ordered the shrimp dish and while she did enjoy it there were only three small shrimp. Veal Parmigiana was a big gooey mess. Restaurants need to realize it's a delicate fried dish and marinara and mozzarella are not supposed to be the main huge glob attraction. Less is more. Grilled scallops were simple and fresh. The veal Monte Carlo was supposed to be made with veal medallions. Instead I got paper thin pieces of veal that were difficult to find under an over abundance of mozzarella to make up for the lack of veal. Usually medallions are thicker pieces at least an inch. read more

Delicious family style take out! We ordered takeout for a birthday party and were very pleased with the portion size, price, quality, and the packaging! The extra attention to detail for the packaging of the items ensured that the food was the quality is was expected to be! We started with the calamari, which was delicious. The bread and focaccia that came with the meal was tasty and the dipping sauce took it to the next level. Our main meal was shrimp scampi. The linguini was packaged separately from the shrimp, which helped keep everything fresh and flavorful. Several large portions of greens/salad were also included. This is an all around amazing restaurant. We are new Paramus residents and were looking for a good local spot to eat. Less than 10 min drive from Oradell Ave. They offer two types of bread and the dip it comes with is tangy and tasty. The entrees come with a delicious side salad and the staff are very friendly! Next time you go, ask for David. He's got a great personality and if you ask for recommendations he'll give you his honest opinion (not just the most expensive of your choices!) I have eaten here before but will NEVER return. we were never told that our table was needed for a larger party. I'm so aggravated that the good food was not worth it. the service ruined our dinner. after 1.5 hours we were basically told we had to leave. second cup of coffee was put into a paper cup to go! no class! then as we walked out a woman from the group passed a comment "they're finally leaving ". I looked back and voiced my comment! when I called granita to tell them all I got was "I'm sorry". not worth the price tag for such aggravation! The food was delicious and the service was excellent.The dinner started with a selection of breads with dipping sauce (the pizza bread was outstanding). We then had a mesculen salad which was crisp and lightly oiled. I had the shrimp francese and my husband had the seafood fra diavlo and both were extremely tasty and fresh. My family and I have been long time patrons of Ralph and Julie for over 20 years now, and they have become like family. I had dinner here with my guy and his mother the other night. As always, our experience was exceptional. They always start their diners off with a basket of fresh bread and warm focaccia with a dipping sauce that is to die for. We then had the Portabella Tower. It was delicious and the perfect sized portion for the three of us to share. As simple as the salad was, it was so light and the dressing was wonderful. They each came with our meals. My friend and I had the stuffed sole over broccoli rabe. It was filled with spinach and crab in a white wine sauce. Very large portion and fantastic. My guy had the seafood salad. I tried some of it and it was very yummy. We are never disappointed with our meals when we dine here. On top of the amazing food is the top notch service we received. Both owners were on the floor the entire evening greeting guests and helping serve. Such wonderful folks. We ended our meal with the tiramisu and warm apple crumb topped with vanilla gelato. I love going to dinner at this place. It has a warm ambience & on the weekends they have Ed the singer/guitarist which adds to the enjoyment of the dinner. Ralph the owner is in the kitchen cooking away while his wife Julie is out in the dining room. They take reservations so be sure to make one on the weekends or else you will be waiting for a table. The bread comes piping hot along with a delicious dipping sauce. The menu is large & there are always several things I want. On the weekdays they do a price-fix menu & one day is pasta night. My family and I stopped in here on Saturday & we were pleasantly surprised. We had 2 kids with us and 3 adults, the staff was very friendly. Entertaining my toddler and courteous to us all. We were serves a delicious flat bread with a cold sauce on the side (weren't big fans of the sauce). Appetizer salads came next, for me I thought they were perfect, not too much jazz, tasty dressing and a decent portion. Our entree's were on the large size but delicious none the less.
