    Fried Calamari

We had a delightful experience top to bottom! The service was excellent and attentive. Our waitress Ava had a smile on her face the whole time. Ambiance was quaint and pretty, only suggestion would be to plat Italian music. Food was superb, we started with a generous portion of fried calamari accompanied by a delicious marinara sauce. My entree was Shrimp Bari which was shrimp and rigatoni with mushrooms and spinach in a vodka sauce. My wife had a huge chicken Milanese. Topped with piece of burrata.

Ordered takeout on a Friday night, and it was ready within 25 minutes of ordering. We got a pizza and the Fox Dip sandwich. I was pleasantly surprised by the pizza because the sauce was delicious and tasted very fresh. However, we were disappointed with the sandwich. It looked nothing like the photo on the website. There was one thin slice of jarlsburg and very little meat, which was sad to see. I'll give it another chance and try their food again, hoping this sandwich was just a one off.

We came here for Mother's Day for lunch and had an amazing meal! They went all out with decorations, balloons, and signs and really made it feel special. We had the calamari, meatball trio, bruschetta, watermelon salad, and pizza and everything was delicious. Great service and we hope to be back soon!

Came by for my birthday dinner on a Thursday with a 6 PM reservation. I guess it was still early because there wasn't anyone dining there at the time. They also have a pizzeria side so if you're looking for the restaurant, you just go around the corner. To start, they bring out some fresh, warm focaccia, served with some pesto. It was crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. I really had to stop myself from eating it all so I could save room for the things we ordered. We had: Fig & Tomato (fresh fig, tomato, goat cheese, lemon honey, tuscan bread) - we figured we should order this since it is the name of the restaurant after all. I probably would have preferred something other than goat cheese - perhaps burrata? But overall, it was a nice appetizers. The figs were ripe and sweet. Mushroom Arancini (mushroom, spinach, mozzarella) - could have used more filling, especially the mushroom. But the gravy it came with helped. If you don't want gravy, be sure to ask for it on the side because the rice balls come served in it. Bari (jumbo shrimp, spinach, mushrooms, pink vodka sauce, rigatoni) - while probably not too "authentic", this pasta was still enjoyable. I am a sucked for vodka sauce, and this had it all - protein and veggies. The shrimp was perfectly cooked. The Sinatra (cherry peppers, italian sausage, fresh mozzarella, olive oil) - I liked the crumbled sausage. They give you a lot of toppings and it's pretty evenly distributed, which I appreciate. Overall, it was a good meal, and we had some leftovers for the next day. It's a bit out of the way for us so I'm not sure if we'd come back but I'm still glad we got to celebrate my birthday here. Tip - BYOB

    Charcuterie Board

This place is tucked away in an unsuspecting area in Hillsdale but the people who knew the food was good packed the restaurant to the brim on a Saturday night. The wait staff was lovely but very busy causing some delays in our asks. Portions of the food were huge for the price and good so you can see why it was so packed. My family got a ton of appetizers to share, the calamari, eggplant rollatini, fig and tomato and the charcuterie board. All were delicious but the eggplant took the cake for the best one. The calamari was a second with the calamari pieces being large and crispy. I personally liked the fig and tomato but I am not sure the tomato was the best since they are out of season so it lacked a bit of flavor and I wish the bread was toasted, but the sweetness of the fig and honey was nice. The charcuterie board was huge and was more than enough for 5 people. However, I am not sure how fresh the meats were and they had forgotten to include the crackers which I think were mainly for the goat cheese ball, and when we asked for them it took a while to bring out and they turned out to just be ritz crackers which turned me off a bit. If you're an Italian eaterie you should be serving your customers a nicer cracker for a cheese board. For dinner my husband and I both got the veal amalfi and it was delicious, I think it had a lot of sodium in it though as I felt it all the next day. It more spiced than we expected but it was perfect. The lemon sauce was delicious and the veal cutlet was done very well. However, the three massive potatoes were a little odd and the one I cut into was slightly hard and I'm not sure cooked all the way through. Regardless I did like the dish. I would definitely go back here but would want to try other things on the menu. I gave this place 4 stars but believe it's more a 3.5 star.

Kitchen view; Nice sized bar with all the good stuff; Excellent food and drinks! Big public parking lot next door. But keep in mind it doesn't come cheap. What looks (and is) very casual is still in Westwood ( an always evolving Foodie town). A true artisanal menu. I suggest you look at the menu and Google some terms because you're going to see some ingredients & foods that are not common place. Multiple types of Mozzarella ( and other cheeses) Home made pastas that you don't always see anywhere (no penne or spaghetti here!) Our group of four is infamous for ordering A LOT off the menu and sharing; No two like items here. A MUST--Italian Stracciatella ( stringy & soft cheese like Mozzarella with house made Hummus in a Roasted Garlic Pinsa Romana that came with pita. Even the hot honey mozzarella sticks made a common item great. Entrees ( all good sized servings) and after all the yummy cheeses & Apps you can expect to have a take-home container. --I loved the Chicken & Sausage Cutlet Milanese Scarpariello with Rosemary; topped with cooked onions & peppers (not a old salad as one would expect with a Milanese. Everything is expensive so I get it but it just didn't blow my bra onto the bathroom ceiling. 260 a couple and one wasn't drinking is reasonable If anything was wow...the best bite of the night was the 10.00 fresh table side bite of mozzarella...it's the one thing we've circled back to talking about over the evening. 26 of those bites would have been way cooler and delicious...which is a good idea for next time. Clams, tasty breadcrumbs. Couldn't find a clam...with both hands, it tasted good if not a little dry just didn't really get "clam" Mozzarella sticks....tasty breadcrumbs and hot honey. But no pull. Focaccia? Over well?? Dark on All sides and only ordered bc our entree was "saucy"...plot twist...it was not. Inventive with the sausage chicken cutlet but scarpiello is supposed to be spicy, sharp...this was roasted peppers on a sausage chicken cutlet with not a drop of sauce. (We shared this, decent serving but for the price you couldn't even garnish the plate?) Chicken scarpimellow maybe ? Cocktails? Tiny and just ok, nothing to write home about and a lot of "just bc you can doesn't mean you should" I want a cocktail with alcohol not molecular gastronomy in a shot glass. The espresso martini was very good, I will give them a 9 on that. The staff was the star, friendly attentive but I can't say knowledgeable because the focaccias sole purpose was for sauce that didn't exist and she didn't come back to ask so here we are with focaccia that came out before apps for an entree that didn't need it. The worst element was that at various points the restaurant was filled with an acrid smell of burning plastic or food or something and it was very off putting but it wasn't a delicious scent. Also, for the vibes and the cost the influencer in gym shorts really throws that whole mood yes society is more casual now but gym shorts aren't really appropriate at any restaurant with the same price point. I'd give it another shot in the future maybe just for cocktails and hand fed cheese.
