When my father's care became more than my mother could handle, I searched for a caregiving service my mom would be comfortable with and after meeting with several agencies, my mom selected Heroes, she said they were the ones that she really felt a connection with and it was the best choice we could have made. Heroes was there not only to help take care of my father, but they were there for my mother as well. When Heroes sent Taylor to be my dad's caregiver she immediately became family. Taylor provided the best care for my dad, she knew just how to talk to him and work with him as his Alzheimer's worsened. Chris and Sean are very involved and would often reach out to my mom to see how she was doing and if there was anything else she needed. Complaint Description: Home Care Assistance was hired to…read morecare for me while my wife traveled for work. The care taker lined my self cleaning oven with foil which has ruined my oven. The company owner, Nick Paciello, bragged about the training provided to his team members and about how his team is good at cooking. The Care Giver was not educated on how to utilize self-cleaning oven. She lined the oven with foil which melted into the oven and is now impossible to remove. Nick refuses to acknowledge that his team member was negligent and he blames me for not educating his team member on how to use the oven. Please note that I was bed ridden and unable to walk on my own. I did not know she was lining the oven with foil. It is not my responsibility to teach Home Care Assistance's team member how to use an oven. Nick refuses to take ownership. I would NOT do business with this company.

Our family was in need to have professional caretakers for my father-in-law residing in Las Vegas while we resided in another state thousands of miles away. From the moment we contacted them they were immediately doing everything they could to help us. In fact, they were at my father-in-law's residence within a couple of hours of our first phone call. They were then reduced to just providing a safe environment for a few hours of respite for the family and they were unable to provide hot meals for lunch except one time, otherwise the client was fending for herself while they watched so the family had to make sure plenty of leftovers were available to reheat. They did not take client to scheduled appointments, only did light cleaning once in three weeks and did not help client dress appropriately. Completely unable to trust this company with the care of my loved one. Ultimately, they were observed siting in a chair on their phones while the client was left to their own devices or they would watch tv with her. They marketed themselves as being able to provide an enriching cognitive environment with activities specifically for dementia clients, that was never provided and their staff would ask the family what they should do with the client or how to tell if the client needed anything. If the family did not provide ideas, then the staff just sat and watched tv with the client.

I am writing this review as a family member and caregiver who was directly involved in my mother's…read morecare. Our experience with this hospice company was deeply concerning. My mother was placed on hospice without her fully understanding or consenting to what hospice meant. When she later expressed that she wanted to be reevaluated and pursue therapy, communication became extremely difficult. We were later informed that hospice could not prescribe or manage life-sustaining medications. My mother requires Eliquis due to a serious blood clot, and this medication was not provided or coordinated through hospice, creating a dangerous gap in care. We were told this medication could not be prescribed by hospice at all. Additionally, after requesting discharge paperwork and medical records so we could transition my mother back to home health with PT, OT, and speech therapy, our calls and messages went unanswered. As of now, we have not received the requested discharge documentation, despite repeated follow-ups. Because of these issues, we had to urgently seek new referrals for home health services to ensure my mother's safety and continuity of care. Families deserve clear communication, informed consent, timely documentation, and coordination of medically necessary treatment, especially during vulnerable moments. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here. I hope this feedback leads to improved transparency, responsiveness, and patient-centered care for future families

This review is based on the level of care and expertise from one particular caregiver, Doug. He was consistently going above and beyond and never ever made me feel rushed or like I was a number. Others who had to fill in for him would forget me and not value my time by at least calling to reschedule or make new appointments. His follow-through was exemplary and even made arrangements for mobile trays and lab work. I also had wound care at home and that was not a good experience. Their office staff was not as productive as I would have liked but at least I knew that I always had Doug advocating on my behalf. I would gladly refer them to friends and family in the future.
