This morning on way home from Florida Vacay, we stopped in Mt Airy to have breakfast at Aunt Bea's Diner. Saige ordered pancakes with bacon and Orange juice. I had biscuits and gravy with sweet tea.. Deacon also had pancakes with sausage and Mt Dew Zero. Not sure what Kayla and her daddy ordered, unfortunately they has to sit at different table. The food was not that good. More than 80% went into the trash. Definitely would not eat here again!

    Ground Steak Sandwich

Ground steak sandwich, tater tots and hush puppies good but nothing special. Chicken fried steak had a lot of gravy covering it. Register froze while ordering and so did the cashier. Drive thru order taker was having difficulty understanding the person at the menu board. I watched a member of the kitchen staff portioning fries with his bare hand despite tongs being RIGHT THERE. Then he popped a fry into his mouth and grabbed another handful for an order. Needs a little ServeSafe training. Dining area and restrooms could use a deep cleaning. Windows were clean.

Cheeseburger was barely edible. At least they put the condiments on it that I requested. It does seem like the beef comes in frozen and not made fresh to order. The crinkle fries were tasty.

Good quick 'fast food' like barbecue. They also have sandwiches, hotdogs and sidea. Great little cafe type restaurant when in a hurry. Make sure to try their bbq sauce. It's fantastic.

Everything we ordered was good. The girl taking out order at the register was friendly. The prices were really good as well.

Had breakfast last weekend. Eggs were cooked to order (over medium), bacon was okay, but the gravy was from a "mix".

He made sure everything was perfect! We started off with the Cheese Sticks with both ranch dressing and marinara sauce! The marinara sauce was really good! The ranch dressing was too watered down for my taste!!! The cheese sticks were hot and fresh! Very gooey and good! He ordered the 13 Bones burger with fries. The burger had amazing flavor! The fries were a bit too salty, but they were perfectly cooked and served hot! I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with their homemade chips! I ordered an extra side of dressing for both my sandwich and the chips. I just cannot rave enough about how amazing my entire meal was! Those chips were PERFECT!!!! Already looking forward to our next visit! Most Sincerely, Dayla

It was very cold where we were sitting and the server allowed us to move to a warmer spot. We ordered a fried mushroom appetizer. This was very good. They came with ranch and I think it was the horseradish sauce. The orangish sauce was very good. I ordered 1/2 rack of dry ribs with mac & cheese and green beans, and 2 hushpuppies. You get a choice of Texas toast, hushpuppies, or rolls. My coworker ordered salmon. When the food came out, my ribs were wet. I told the server that I had ordered dry rub. He stated they were dry but had sauce on them. I'm sorry, that is not a "dry rib", in my opinion. The first piece of rib meat I ate was soft and juicy. The next two were super dry and I could not eat any more of them. My coworker joked that that was probably what they were referring to when they said "dry rub". The green beans were ok. I added a ton of pepper and some hot sauce. I saved the mac & cheese for lunch the next day. The hushpuppies were dense and needed a little more flavor. My coworker commented that her salmon was ok but nothing to write home about. I should have went with my first instinct and ordered from the kids menu. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is nice.

Not many dining choices in this area. Ample parking and a large dining area with tables efficiently serviced so that they turn over quickly. Our wait for a table was only 10-minutes, following a group of 18! The service was the star of the experience. Very efficient, helpful, attentive servers. Shout out to Suzanna. The large staff worked well together and seemed to make everyone feel comfortable. The ambience is southern, hometown casual. You feel like you are visiting your large family from start to finish. Nothing pretentious. Clean enough. Comfortable. Pricing....in this time of food inflation, this restaurant still offers amazing prices. My husband and I had two large dinner entrees with water and our bill came to just under $24.00. Our portions were generous as evidence in the photo. Our waitress recommended the grilled pork chops which were hot, juicy and seasoned just right. They came with two veggie sides from a long list of choices. I chose collard greens and Mac and cheese. These items were just average and only luke warm as was the biscuit (from a choice of about 5 bread options). Had the sides been hot and a little more flavorful, I would have given 5 stars. For vegetarians and all-day breakfast eaters, Cooper Pot is your place; so much to choose from on their menu. Vegans might struggle as most southern cooking includes dairy and it looks as if they cook their sides in large quantities and keep them in a warmer to serve. The ability to respond quickly to large numbers of travelers and locals, with solid, well-priced, filling meals is the gift of the Copper Pot. We will return when traveling their way.
