I went in today for an orientation and a walk through at about 10AM. IMO, there were way too many dogs in each area. The dog rooms are small and dimly lit, and all connected, so the atmosphere is very loud. I was shocked at how many large dogs were in such a small area. As we walked through with the staff, a fight broke out between two dogs. Others joined in because there was no where to go. One staff in the room for about 20-25 large dogs. No wonder. There is simply not enough room for the number and size of dogs in that space. I would never leave my dog there.

I had been a very hardworking employee, even going so far as to cover for other employees, working outside my territory, and cat sitting (when that wasn't in my job description). I was so disappointed in Anna that I felt the need to quit for my own health. I feel as though Anna thinks you need to dedicate your life to a part-time job, with no benefits, and not enough pay for the amount of driving you do. Instead of boarding them someplace where they'll be in crates most of the time except for an occasional walk (which you'll probably pay for), Pets Are Inn contracts with pet lovers who take your animals into their home while you away and treat them just like members of the family! We've used them 4 times now and have been lucky enough to get the same family each time (families develop relationships with the animals). The service will pick your animals up for you and drop them off (a great convenience when you're getting ready for a trip). My dogs practically jump out of their skins when the van pulls up because they are so excited to go stay with their "second family!" Upon return, we've always received a little note from the host family with an update about how the dogs did, etc. (They always got to sleep in the beds with the folks, etc.). And the best part? She sent me texts every day with pictures to update me on their status. I was overjoyed when she told me that Wendigo actually "took" to her... Wendigo never even let my own family come near her, but Monica is a cat whisperer, because even in this stressful situation she let Monica pet her and she didn't hide from her. Monica also changed their litter when it needed it, and she followed my meticulous instructions for the diet and feeding for each of the cats. What amazed me most about her is that she has been so flexible and accommodating. I had to extend my trip and Monica has worked with me through all the changes. She even brought extra cooked chicken for Wendigo when mine ran out. As a new resident and a first time street-parker, I didn't realize you had to move your car so much in Saint Paul. Monica alerted me to signs that had been posted by parking enforcement, and bent over backwards to help me make sure my car was ok. When I returned home, I found that Monica didn't just take excellent care of my babies, she took care of my home. She washed dishes she used. She kept things in order. There wasn't any trash to be found. My kitties were happy and healthy! I feel so blessed and lucky to have found someone so professional and caring for my little cat family. I feel like everybody has had the experience in previous jobs of not liking their coworkers as well as having crappy bosses. Here, everyone works well with each other, and we are truly a community. We look out for each other, and my bosses are always making sure that I am getting the recognition I deserve. I don't know where I would be without this job. Getting time off is not a problem and neither is sick days. Management is very understanding when I need a break or am going on vacation. I genuinely feel looked after by them and appreciated.
