Mega Fish Platter (5 whiting filets, mac n cheese & string beans)
    Ashlye H.

Is it bad that I found this restaurant off of another soul food restaurants review? If it is then I'm very happy to have found it to try them out! Ordered via the website and I liked that they show you the process of your food order and notify you promptly, keeping the anticipation low is great for me. It took 15min after submitting for the food to be ready and this was easy to locate. I ordered the Mega Fish Platter (5 whiting filets) with Mac n cheese & string beans, a kids roast chicken with Mac n cheese & candied yams, cornbread, large banana pudding & their lemonade. The amazing thing is that all of this food was $37. The food is pretty good and took me back to those after Sunday service (possibly 2nd service) food that the elders would prepare. My only let down was that the candied yams weren't candied and tasted like a regular baked potato with nothing on it. The Mega Fish Platter was enough for my husband & I to eat, the staff were friendly, the inside is cozy yet you're there to grub. I'll definitely be back especially to try their pound cake that I eyeballed in their dessert fridge.

I really love Aunt Berta's for some delicious authentic soul food. The service is usually very friendly and kind. They take care of me every time I come in here. The home made drinks are delicious and the food is even better. I usually go with fried fish or fried chicken or fried fish with sides like mash potatoes, collard greens, cabbage or Mac and cheese and yams. It's all delicious. I love it so much. I eat here at least once a month if not more. And that's only because I have to pace myself otherwise I'd be eating here weekly. I don't usually stay in the restaurant and eat but they do have a homey energy inside the seating area in the restaurant. The overall atmosphere is family friendly and chill for the most part. It's always a lot of people ordering food in here because the food is delicious. I recommend ordering ahead of time if you're hungry because most of the food is made to order unless you're getting fried chicken or turkey legs or baked chicken. Some food they have ready to go but most food is made to order. Either way I LOVE this place! 10/10 would recommend.

This place is the truth! It's a small spot with no inside seating. You stand in line and place your order and you receive your order hot!! This soul restaurant has good service. You may have to wait for the chicken since it's their biggest seller but it's worth the wait! The desserts are delish!!! The food is soooooooooooooooo good! The mac n cheese and fish was singing a song in my tummy because it was just that good!! This place is located on the corner. You can place an order for pick up as well. Don't forget to grab one of those delish pound or chocolate cake!!

Everything was very good so close to home cooking. Only problem for ME is some of the food is prepared in advance. I personally would like fried fish just fried. Nevertheless the fish and pork chops were very good. I enjoyed the baked Mac and cheese but I got the last in the pan and it has a slight taste of being made with evaporated milk(I don't particularly care for this method) but it was good. The cabbage was tasty and not over cooked. The drawback is you have to pay for cornbread. Most soul food restaurants offer a small portion with the meal. But okay everyone is different! I ordered what they called 'Special Cornbread' it had cranberries and a hint of pineapple. Good but more like dessert. The meal I ordered was a great deal for $12.95 two entree items meat, fish, pork or poultry and two sides traditional soul food items. Overall a very good value. My server was nice although she had to work a very busy dining room alone. She was moving it, she got her exercise in this day! The dining room is small but sufficient, modestly decorated and clean. I will update the review once mom has tasted her food. I'll make a point to stop by again soon if that goes over well!

Omg ! This place was wonderful lol, I was looking for some lunch while I was in the area this place popped up and the princes seemed to be pretty good so I decided to give it a shot. So glad it did that ! They told me they would bring my food out to me because I didn't have a mask on but after tasting that food I'll be sure to have a double mask on next time I go! The potato salad looked kinda weird but after that first bite I was a believer the Max was macin and that fish was fishing lol! I'll definitely be back to try some more of the food in the future God willing!

I was feeling patriotic, so I decided on All-American Soul Food to honor my citizenship. Also, I'm about to hit a diet starting next week so I'm checking off things like fried chicken to satisfy my comfort food cravings before it's too late. I got here at dinner time on a week day and it was fairly busy. I had to wait a few minutes before I could order the 2-piece fried chicken special which came with two sides and corn bread. I chose the nicely buttered green beans along with the heavenly cheesy mac and cheese. I asked for white meat and got a small breast and a chicken wing. Don't expect huge chicken pieces. They weren't that large, but my god, every mouthful was pure delight. The breading was light, slightly salty, slightly peppery. Sides were two scoops worth for a serving. All in all, I was stuffed and didn't even touch the cornbread. They let me sit in the dining room, which luckily was fairly empty. Nice to have a table to sit down and enjoy the food. Miss Berta came around and asked how the meal was going to each of us, personally thanking us for stopping in and telling us to "come back now, sweetie."

Let me start out with this, I reviewed other Yelp reviews and I'm convinced either I came on the wrong day or these Elite status reviewers aren't telling the truth at all! This place doesn't cook the food fresh, it appears to be cooked, stored, then reheated and sits in warmers! The only food prepared fresh is the fried fish, which is pretty good! However everything else is not fresh, and it is not good! The turkey wings appeared to be days old and just reheated! The greens weren't seasoned, yams not the best, mac & cheese I guess ok, I did enjoy the cabbage! However I ended up returning everything, even the cornbread was hard and old! If you're in need of something fast, then I'd say yes; however if you're looking for real down home, soul food, you'd be better off cooking it yourself!

I got the Bro Burger and it was only $6 so I added fries for $5. The burger was fresh and delicious - served with burger sauce, pickles and fried onions on a brioche bun. The fries were tasty and portioned well for the price. My only complaint is that they were cold. That kind of ruins the taste. Cold fries are a no! Service was quick and friendly. The young lady explained the menu to me which helped me to decide. I did feel bad for her because it was pretty cold inside! Might explain the cold fries. I will definitely try SmashBros again but when it's a little warmer outside. We DoorDashed from SmashBros and everything hit the mark. The food came fast, hot, and wrapped up nicely. The fries were golden, crispy, and generously portioned. The cheesesteaks were packed, mine had fried onions and Cooper sharp, no extras needed. The chicken cheesesteak had both big and shredded chunks, also on a seeded roll that wasn't overdone. Great quality, great flavor. Definitely ordering again. I went to one and the chicken cheesesteak tasted like wet dog food. The cheese was so runny it was practically sauce. & it was $16.50. I got violently ill after eating a burger from here. Even made my own a few times, thinking I had it all figured out. But then I walked into The Bank Bar and had my mind completely rearranged. The place itself? Perfect. It's got that old-school, no-nonsense vibe with just enough charm to let you know they actually care. You walk in, and it's like the place has been waiting for you--dark wood, a little history on the walls, and that unmistakable smell of something incredible happening in the kitchen. The kind of place where you know, deep down in your soul, that good things are about to happen. And then came the sandwich. This roast pork wasn't just good. It wasn't just great. It was the best roast pork sandwich I have ever had in my life. No exaggeration. First bite--boom--instant revelation. The pork was juicy, packed with deep, rich flavor, and shredded just right, like it had been slow-cooked by someone who truly understands patience. The roll? Oh man, that perfect balance of crusty and soft, holding everything together without stealing the show. Then you get hit with the garlicky, herb-loaded bite of the greens--sautéed just enough to still have a little bite, but soft enough to melt into everything else. And the cheese? Sharp provolone, the kind that makes your taste buds wake up and pay attention. I sat there, sandwich in hand, just nodding to myself like some kind of roast pork prophet. Every bite was a reminder that this is how it's supposed to be done. It wasn't a meal. It was a life experience. If you haven't been to The Bank Bar yet, fix that immediately. Order the roast pork. There's a lively atmosphere in there, which may be a little too loud for some people, but it's never been bad while we're there. Granted, we've been fortunate to miss the evening rush the two times we've gone, so service has always been good; with friendly servers and the food coming out fairly quickly. No idea if this is the norm, but the service staff are always nearby and seem to be very attentive even when it's busy. As for the food, it's solid pub fare. Lots of sandwiches and comfort dishes. The salads are good, and the sandwiches (chicken parm and shrimp po' boy sliders) I've tried have been good enough that I wouldn't hesitate to get them again. The serving sizes were larger than we expected, so definitely come hungry or order something that'll be good as leftovers. If there's one picky thing to consider, it's that they under salt their fries. I usually don't like too much salt, but they're noticeably lacking. The fries are good, though. First time here and last time. Ordered a Cuban sandwich and…read morereceived their version of it I suppose . Slices of pork , a slice of ham , chopped pickles and a healthy overdose of a white sauce and it was served on an upside down sub roll . Yes , slice a roll and make the sandwich on the darker round part and leave the cut inside part on the top and bottom . Any Cuban I've ever had was always pressed or grilled but this was not , it was just sloppy upside down bread . I've never had a Cuban sandwich like this before ! It was a sloppy mayo dripping mess that I couldn't eat because I can't eat mayonnaise, something that should have been on the menu description. When a server popped by I asked what it was and she said it was a mayo- horseradish sauce and walked away . I ate the tater tots and left the sandwich, it was pretty bad . Well my boyfriend was finished his meal and both of our beers were empty and yet no one bothered to ask if we wanted another round . We sat there and waited, looking around at the 3 employees who were just standing there talking ... no one seemed to care. Our server who disappeared after taking our order walked right past us to chat with a couple of younger guys right behind us , they were regulars and she obviously knew them . They were chatting and laughing away and here we sat with empty glasses , an upside down sub roll slathered with mayo sauce and no server . Finally another server came by to ask if we wanted anything else and I said no just the check . She saw the sandwich untouched and I said I didn't know it had mayonnaise , something I can't have . She brought the check back and said she removed the Cuban . Um ....no , we were charged $2.50 for the tater tots which I did eat and $2.00 for the Cuban . What did she remove ? Meanwhile when our server saw we were leaving she finally decided to tear herself away from her conversation with the guys to ask if we were okay ....no but thanks for asking . A drink refill , a stop by to see if we needed anything or how was the food but no , we ceased to exist after she took our order . Overall pretty disappointing experience here and we won't be returning. And we're always very generous tippers but not tonight . Tonight we tipped based on the overall experience.... Food - not good at all Service - pretty much nonexistent Atmosphere- if you're a regular you get treated like you matter , you actually get a server that's not invisible !!! Would definitely not recommend this place

The egg roll in particular was extra sad. BUT, the wings are on POINT! They have a ton of flavors and serving options, and I've never had a bad wing here. Knocks are that this place couldn't be more no frills, unless they sold the wings out of someones trunk. The store itself inspires ZERO confidence in your decision to eat here, and the prices posted are just random thoughts of what you'll pay. Do not trust the price boards or menus.
