Ridiculous place - Each year I take my sons and grands on a summer camping vacation. This year we wanted to try someplace new with lots of area attractions and amusements nearby. Aunt Bugs Cabin Rentals appeared to fill those requirements perfectly although much farther away from our NY home than usual. We rented for 6 days in July. Put the deposit of $1300 down and then paid the additional $1300 about 3 weeks prior to our stay. 1st the location and name of the cabin we'd paid to rent is kept a SECRET until after 3PM on the day of arrival - That makes zero sense and for the life of me I cannot come up with any logical explanation for it being a mystery. In addition, they required that we provide ANOTHER credit card to "pay for any incidentals" WHAT !! ?? To add frost to that annoying cake they required a picture of ME holding my ID. Were they trying to steal my identity for future use? Why? they said it was to "prove it was me using the cabin" Again, no logical reason as I could easily have paid for someone else's stay. They certainly knew it was ME when charging my credit card $2600. At approximately 3pm we were finally given the secret cabin number and name, 247 Secluded Bearadise, and location, 2475 East View Dr. Sevierville. With major help from our GPS we found it and were dumbfounded by how steep and very narrow the driveway was. Thank goodness we hadn't towed a small supplies trailer with us or we'd have been 100% SOL. We arrived in 2 full size vans and had to maneuver so we could back up the drive as backing down into that ultra narrow road would have been crazy hazardous. Unlike others experiences with these cabins the hot tub for ours was clean and functional. Floors were clean. The kitchen was well appointed with cooking utensils, a newer refrigerator and range, dishwasher and had we wanted or needed them, plates, tableware, toaster and even a crock pot. The kitchen area was reasonably clean. The downstairs bathroom with the shower seemed clean until you saw the disgusting shower curtain particularly the liner that was covered in black mold. We called management and they said they'd bring us another one but didn't show to do that so the next day we had to drive to the office to get one and hang it ourselves. The beds were comfortable but the bedding was sketchy and looked old, very worn out and questionably clean. Thankfully, we'd brought our own. The WORST thing we found was a considerable amount of dried dog feces on the carpet under and around the air hockey table in the "game room". Then we found that the carpet in the upper bedroom had what appeared to be rather major amount of dried liquid dog feces ground into that carpet at the end of the bed. UGH !!! Contacting management got the response that they'd "let maintenance know" No maintenance anything ever came. There was also a large burn mark in the carpet by the fireplace. We tried to use the outside gas grill although noted that it was placed against the outside, wood, wall of the cabin. Lit it and it was so filthy and laden with grease inside that the grease started on fire with lots of acrid smoke. Thankfully, we knew how to deal with it and with some effort extinguish the fire. When there you'll see a rather shocking amount of trash in the woods surround the cabin as well as the driveway and small parking area particularly after a rain. On a positive note, the air conditioning was excellent. We had a front porch visit from a thin, medium size black bear - Didn't mind that but were pleased we weren't in the hot tub at the time because the hot tub is on the side porch without any line of site to the front of the building. It was placid and calmly sauntered away after a simple Shoo! Last, the pump for the hot tub cycles all night, is not quiet and is located right next the the wall of the downstairs bedroom. Since Covid has put a damper to all travel plans, we decided to take a road trip and have a "Covid Conscious" vacation. We found Aunt Bug's Cabin Rentals and booked Love and Laughs #11 which seemed like the perfect "home away from home" getaway spot. Unfortunately, our excitement was quickly crushed when we arrived and realized how dirty and neglected the cabin was. For starters, here's a list of everything that should have been addressed before our check in: - The entire place smelled like cigarettes despite the fact that there is 2 big 'no smoking' signs - The kitchen counters were dirty and had grease/dust on them - Plates had food stains on them - Floors were dirty - Bathroom tubs were dirty - Bedroom comforter was ripped in one of the rooms - Empty cans/bottles surround the entire deck area It seemed like the last group had just left and there was no cleaning done in between. Aside from that, the cabin is essentially falling apart and has 'amenities' just for the sake of them being there. - The basement has a game room that includes a foosball table, air hockey table, and pool table. Sadly, all three were broken and in bad condition. - Fireplace wasn't working/broken - TVs weren't working We ended up reaching out to their maintenance number to get someone to come in and look at the fireplace, but no one came out. Granted, it was late Saturday afternoon (4 pm) and most people had taken off, but at the end of the day, they should realize that most travelers come in for the weekend so there should be someone to help out if something is broken. Overall, the cabin is poorly maintained and does not come close to meeting any Covid standards or any well-being standards. If you're planning a staycation, I'd look somewhere else. read more

Would not recommend Aunt Bugs and especially would not recommend "Around The Bend #239". Would rate it a zero if I could. The place is very outdated and in no way resembles the description on Aunt Bugs web site. First off, after a long drive I was looking forward to a soak in the hot tub. The tub was only half full and 52°. Description did not mention that game room was around outside and down a flight of stairs with no lighting, very dangerous. In addition, there is a foosball table but there were no foosballs. The photos show an overhead projector in the basement game room but sound doesn't work. In addition there were only 3 chairs so a whole family couldn't sit anyways. Photos on website show a bunch of chairs. Two of the bedroom TVs didn't work. Doesn't matter because internet is so slow, it is continuously freezing anyways. They sent a guy around who got one of the bedroom TVs working but the other one is not even a smart TV. Guy said that Aunt Bugs would get back to us but they blew us off. For what we paid for this place we are HIGHLY" disappointed. The couch was filthy. Behind the couch was the air return covered with sticky dust. Opened it up only to find that the air filter was too small so useless. I'd hate to think how dirty the comforters are, yuck. They look 20 years old. They left us ONE garbage bag. Sorry, but not going out on Christmas Eve to buy garbage bags. There were no food storage containers or anything to store leftovers in. A very poorly stocked cabin. I will leave as many reviews as I can to warn people away from this outfit and "Around the Bend #239". Do not rent from this company. We had cabin #235 and it was horrible. We brought to their attention that the reservation before us flooded the bedroom carpet and it was smelling like mildew. They only sent someone out to "look" and never contacted us back. I had to call and they said someone would call us. We ended up leaving early due to the smell taking over the cabin and giving me a constant headache. They had no concern about cleaning it and making their guest happy. We went through Aunt Bugs rentals and were extremely disappointed with our cabin, FALCON CREST. We arrived to a gross and dirty cabin. I had to clean the kitchen and get rid of all the cobwebs. The rental was pet friendly, and you could tell because whoever was there last allowed their cat and or dog to pee on the couch and rugs so the place smelled like a veterinary clinic and not a clean one. Our view was construction and dumpsters across the street. We saw online that they had basketball courts and tennis courts and a pool however, that was just picture rendering. There was nothing of the sort. we contacted aunt bugs and asked what address the park was at. We were sent to a vacant field. Long story short, they hadn't been built yet. We requested to switch our cabin and found that we could not because it was not owned by aunt bugs but by a third party, and we were stuck there. I would recommend going through another rental company. Besides aunt bugs, I believe they may have too many rentals that they can't keep up on all of them. We placed a deposit with this company for a rental. In the mean time, Coronavirus broke out in the US, many of the people scheduled to take the trip became unemployed and even if we had the funds to travel, we've been quarantined. We called to request a return of our deposit with 2 months notice; rather than returning the deposit, the company's response has been effectively 'tough luck, you're welcome to reschedule for next year.' This is unacceptable and frankly disgusting. The country is facing a pandemic and economic collapse and this company is using the opportunity to keep deposits without providing a service. This comes in response to a call made to Aunt Bugs on March 17, 2020. I would like to express my dissatisfaction with Aunt Bugs customer service and lack of concern about the State of Emergency our country is currently in. I called to see if we could reschedule our trip for the week of Sunday, March 22 - Saturday, March 28. I was told that there would be no refunds or rescheduling of our reservation. I hope I am reaching someone that can provide actual customer service. The response I received yesterday when speaking to your customer service associate was atrocious. I did not call with the desire to hear repeatedly from the associate "that she was there to let me vent and express my frustration as much as I needed to, but there was nothing else she could do". The COVID-19 Pandemic and the situation surrounding it are the reason we need to reschedule/cancel this trip. There were to be 4 of us traveling together to celebrate a 60 birthday. Two of the individuals in the group have been advised to prepare for possibility of being quarantined 14 days straight at their places of employment and vacations canceled. One individual has been told by their employer all nonessential travel is to be canceled. One of the individuals is a senior citizen. Two of the individuals in the group have diabetes. Tennessee Governor Bill Lee has declared a state of emergency. Many places of entertainment and restaurants have been closed in your area. In Illinois, where 3 of us would be traveling from, all restaurants and bars have been closed to business other than carry out orders. Many have decided to just close completely. The number of grocery stores with food shortages is growing. Not knowing where we could stop to eat or use a restroom on our way there or if we could even find food once we arrived is another factor in needing to reschedule/cancel this trip. To not allow us to reschedule this trip is irresponsible on your part as business. It shows greed and lack of concern for your guest and the public in general. Paid for a beautiful 1 bedroom cabin (could not excess it by motorcycle ) so we had to change cabins.They charged us 255.00 more for the Bates hotel !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A nightmare !!!!!!!!!!! I booked a cabin with Aunt Bug's Cabin Rentals on June 14, 2020 for July 12, 2020 through July 16, 2020. Shortly after booking, it was announced that NYS was enforcing mandatory restrictions from certain states, Tennessee being one of them. My fiancé is an emergency room nurse and the hospital he works at was also requiring quarantine and testing upon re-entry to the state. My now 8-year-old son is high risk and has been in the hospital several times and even the ICU due to respiratory illness. Given the new development of the travel restrictions, the demands of mine and my fiancé's jobs (we are both nurses), my son's underlying health condition and the spread of Covid-19, we called to cancel our reservation and were told we would be given a credit to use for a future rental. We asked several times over the next few months for an invoice to show our credit, and finally in 12/2020 we received an invoice with an arrival date of 12/6/21 and departure of 12/7/21. Upon calling to inquire, we were told that we would have until 12/6/21 to use our credit. Knowing that we were limited to booking the same cabin and would have limited availability, we rebooked for September 1-52021on August 3, 2021. Shortly after rebooking on August 3, cases began to rise dramatically again. We were again put in the position of having to carefully weigh out our options. Knowing there were certain risks that were unavoidable and my son being at high risk, we called again to try to cancel on 8/11/21. During this call, we were told our time was up and if we didn't show up for our September 1-5 reservation we were out of luck. We asked if we could at least extend it to the 12/6/21 date we were told we had it until initially and we were told no and we would receive a call from the manager. On 8/27/21 I called again to try to reach a manager having still not received a call. On this day, I spoke to two different Aunt Bug's employees who very irresponsibly told me Covid cases weren't even bad in Sevier County right now. The first employee, Austin, told me "There aren't even any rules for masks or anything right now". When I told him that was one of the reasons we didn't feel safe coming, he stated "I have gone everywhere without a mask, the grocery store, everywhere, and I haven't gotten it once". After explaining that my son is too young to be vaccinated and I had to sit with him in the ICU watching him struggle to breathe which was something I never wanted to do again, he simply stated again "it isn't even bad down here, we have no cases". I asked Austin who his manager was, he told me his manager was going to tell me the same thing. I let him know I was still going to call to speak with him and he then told me his manager's name was Bob. I called later in the day and spoke to a woman who informed me Bob wasn't in and that she had been there longer than Bob and she knows the policies. She also stated cases are not bad and that "the only reason we have any cases is because out of town visitors come here and get tested at the Urgent Care". June 14, 2020 was the day we first booked our vacation with Aunt Bugs. On this day there were 558 new cases with a 7-day average of 480. August 6, 2021 was when we rebooked for September 1-5 knowing we were running out of time and couldn't get a refund. On this day there were 3,875 new cases with a 7-day average of 2,807. On August 27, 2021, there were 7,653 new cases with a 7-day average of 6,089. The 7-day average from our initial booking to the day I was told by two separate Aunt Bug's employees that this Global Pandemic, which has killed hundreds of millions of people around the world, is not currently happening in their area, increased dramatically. I have since read many unsavory reviews about cabins not being in working order or dirty and I can rest my head better at night knowing I made the right decision to keep my family safe rather than stay in a cabin that is not well taken care of or clean. I do however, as an educated healthcare professional, feel it is my obligation to bring it to anyone and everyone's attention that Aunt Bug's employees are misleading their visitors by telling them "there are no cases down here" and that coming to an area which is currently considered "extremely high risk" with (at the time) a test positivity rate of 27%, a fully vaccinated rate of 38% and no current mask mandates or capacity limitations is only in that situation because "out of town visitors come here and get tested at the Urgent Care". The statements from the Aunt Bug's employees are unfounded, irresponsible, ignorant, dangerous and possibly deadly. This company does not have honest intentions for their guests nor compassion for people who work hard to spend their money on a vacation and value the health and safety of their family over money. Disappointed. we chose cedar charm 316 bc of the fire pit AND jacuzzi. We paid more than we wanted (we didn't need 3 bedrooms) but wanted that outdoor jacuzzi. you would think someone would check to make sure the darn thing worked! Nope. We contacted them. No one came out. also no pantry. So you have to keep all your food on the countertops. There is closet With a trash can but you would thing they would put in the extra expense for even a rack(?). No pans so forget about putting anything in the oven. Would have been nice to know so we could have brought our own so we could cook simple things like cookies, cinnamon rolls and chicken nugs for the kids. No door locks. Now the cabin was clean! Dirty cabin upon arrival. Make sure everyone in your party (we had my 82 year old grandma) can climb into the beds. All beds are 3.5+ feet high with no steps to help get in. Ants everywhere in kitchen and bedrooms. Piles of ants eating dust/food under dressers. Hot tubs were left open and had leaves/branches/dirt in them. Light bulbs were missing (not working) in bedrooms and bathroom. One bathroom lights flicker nonstop like strobe lights. Ice maker did not work. Steps leading down the the river were broken, large screws were laying on the steps. (Very dangerous) Air filters were covered in black dust... called front desk (on our 2nd day being here) and asked for someone to come clean filters, clean hot tub, take a look at the steps, ice maker. A guy came and took care of the light bulbs and said he would be back for the hot tub. Never came back. Called on Thursday (5th day being here) about hot tub and someone said maintenance would need to come to the hot tub. Hot tub water smells like wet dog. We didn't even get to enjoy the hot tub....why come fix it 2 days before we leave and not immediately? (Still has not came to fix it). Front yard along the river is covered in trash, beer cans, glass bottles. Under the porch there are beer bottles, cans. Mentioned all of these issues to Aunt Bugs cabin (on our 2nd day) and only had filter/light bulbs fixed. For the price you pay ($800+) a night, this is unacceptable. Do not recommend this company and will let others know about the experience. Was told that the owners of the house are to be made aware of the problems and take care of certain things. Found a note from prior guest saying that house was disgusting and very dirty. Obviously not a one time thing. (Wrote note on paper that is asking for tip for cleaning company) Found trash on dressers, Under beds. Cleaning needs to be taken serious at all times, but especially during covid. read more

I would NOT recommend Aunt Bugs cabin rentals. They DO NOT inspect their rental properties. We had a 4 night reservation at one of the properties they manage. First they want a photo of your drivers license and keep it for 6 months (then they destroy it, ha ha). You get no money back, even if you have a terrible property like we had. They make you sign a 3 page contract to cover their "butts" See attached photos of our property. It was a DUMP the property is called "Feathers and FUR #2306. Roach Motel (we live in FL, but we pay to have our home sprayed - no roaches - they apparently do not. They could have been fined because there was NO smoke detectors on main level - we texted this and...by golly they were there the next day to install a smoke detector. SHAME ON YOU. Now...lets start with the kitchen, no cork screw, no wine glasses or juice glasses, the light above the stove was out. See a photo of the kitchen floor grate (horrible). Take a look at the photo of the ice cube trays, WOW. Their ice maker doesn't work in their old refrigerator. Now...lets move to the little dining table with 4 chairs. Table wobbles, 2 of the 4 chairs were broken. The lower level smells of CAT URINE. The lower level is dirty. The washer in the laundry room makes a metal-on-metal grinding sound. Take a look at the photo of the toilet paper holder. The cockroaches are huge and run around at night - the photo is one that was alive but upside down. ALSO, take a look at the photo of the moldy outside furniture - they expect you to sit on that! I texted AUNT BUGS about these issues and all they said was "we apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced" (they want us to have a comfortable and enjoyable stay) WHAT A JOKE WE PACKED UP AND LEFT A DAY EARLY - COULDN'T STAND IT. WE WOULD LIKE TO BE COMPENSATED FOR THIS. WAITING FOR YOUR REPLY. The devil is in the details. Unfortunately our stay was riddled with all kinds of issues. I am a travel agent and I had a group of 13 guests booked for the High Country Cabin. The front door was unlocked when we first came in and then it was downhill from there. 1. Kitchen Bench broken; 2. Ceiling fan remote didn't work; 3. Wifi was so slow we had to use our own mobile hotspot to watch TV; 4. Refrigerator took hours to make things cold; 5. One of the chandelier lights was untwisted because it blinks off and on; 6. Main level jacuzzi wouldn't work, no water, no jets. We called Aunt Bugs to report and get help, but they didn't come and my father had to figure it out; 7. Not enough covers for the number of beds posted in the listing, we called them, but they never brought the covers. We ended up calling the management company several times about issues and ultimately, they told my husband he'd have to come down the mountain to get them (after we had been out all day (tired), got back to the cabin and realized they never brought the covers); 8. The shower curtains were dirty and torn; 9. The benches, futon legs, and pole table sticks were broken. They were perched up against the wall to look like they were okay; 10. My mother found mouse droppings in her nightstand drawer, in the basement bedroom; 11. Toilet in main level bathroom had a leak; 12. Oven drawer is off track; 13. Rack in freezer was out of the brackets and appeared to be too big for that model; 14. The Gas grill was out of propane so we couldn't grill, and it was horribly dirty; 15. Nothing was provided In the cabin with any though or consideration to the guests, i.e. A few trash bags, a container of $1 hand soap, 2 or 3 dishwasher pods and a conainer of $1 dish soap, just a few things would have made the space, much more acommodating and inviting; 16. Cabin was dirty and dusty, beds could have had better sheets on them and closets should of had all the towels/bedding we needed. All though this cabin is new, every turn there was issues and so we couldn't enjoy it to the fullest. The lack of concern and attention to detail is unacceptable for management company. Whomever owns this cabin, needs to come check out their property, and make sure things are being ran how they want them, and make note of repairs that need done. In this experience, Aunt Bug's Cabins, is doing the bare minimum to accomodate guests, we are no longer valued guests, we are just a commodity and that's it. Whoever ABCs uses to clean the cabins...they need to be terminated and ABCs need to find a different company that cares and will report issues when they encounter them during cleaning. Maintenance should be a priority. We called Aunt Bug's Cabins, so many times it was embarrassing as travel agents. Our guests were all but demanding money back from having such a unsatisfactory experience and all we got was a limp apology and they offered the covers, but we had to drive back into town to get them. The pictures we saw was not the reality of the place in person. Paint chipping on deck, very little mountain view. Screen door on back door was ripped. Foosball table had rust and was dirty. Hot top only worked a little and was dusty. Walked into the cabin didnt smell well. Dust and cob webs on mantel. The jacuzzi had to be cleaned .but we couldn't not use because water was coming out brown. We where told it wouldn't hurt us we are made of dirt. Wth why would you say that to a customer. Twice, I've gotten a pet friendly cabin...and we both have really enjoyed it! When we arrived on Thursday evening and walked in it did seem like a nice place and very clean. We stayed at the "lovers lake number 105" cabin. However the longer we stayed the more we realized how truly unclean it really is. Cobwebs in the bathroom, old dried up food on the placemats, that sort of thing. Basically the cleaning staff did the minimum to make it appear clean at first glance, but it truly was not. The hot tub at this location is on the deck that is not covered, and next to the steps that anyone could walk up at any moment. This would not be too big of a deal in the summer I suppose, but our first night it was raining so it was pretty miserable to be in the uncovered hot tub, and the second night it snowed So it was completely iced over and slick to walk to from the back door to the hot tub. Why not have an awning??? Shortly after our arrival on Thursday, around 5:00 PM, we noticed that the neighbor dog was barking nonstop. We are dog lovers, own three dogs, and have rescued dogs so that was not such a big deal, however when the dog literally did not stop barking all evening or all night it became a big deal. At 11 o'clock the next day when we had not slept at all due to the nonstop barking we called aunt bugs and they told us They could not do anything and to call the police. Turns out that there is not a noise ordinance in this county. However the deputy that came out told us there have been several complaints from past renters of our property about the dogs next-door. I am not exaggerating when I say that the dogs were outside and did not stop barking literally overnight. The property we stayed in also is right at the intersection of a stop sign, so you hear the traffic and see headlights all night long. I understand these are not controllable by the property management, but I would have appreciated the info prior to booking. I wish I could say that was the worst part. The worst part is that while we were awake in the middle of the night unable to sleep because of the barking dogs, we were freezing. The heater was broke. We called on Friday morning and we were told that somebody had been out just the day before and "fixed" everything and it might take some time for it to heat up. The fireplace, which was listed as an amenity of the property, did not work at all. We literally froze all night. Not enough blankets in the cabin to keep us warm. At 7:30 AM Friday morning when we got out of bed it was 52° in the cabin. We were out of the cabin all day on Friday and when we came in Friday evening around 11 PM it was 65° in the cabin. When we woke up Saturday morning it was again 52°. Freezing. We called the office right at 9 AM when they opened. They said that somebody would be out shortly. We called again at 9:30 and were told by Miss Sherry that all of the maintenance staff was in a meeting but would be out within the hour. At noon when nobody had shown up we called again. Again, not much response. Miss Sherry answered the phone and asked us to hold, and put us on hold for seven minutes before we lost signal and the call cut out. When we called back she was the same one to answer and put us on hold for another six minutes before Miss Stacey picked up the phone. Miss Stacey told us that since the professional HVAC company had been out a few days prior they would have to come out again. ****Why would they rent the place to us if they knew the heat was broke?**** We asked if we could speak with the manager and miss Stacy told us he was at lunch but would call us "just as soon as" he got back from lunch. He never called. 6:15 we called again, and they were gone for the day. That manager must take a super long lunch. When we got back to the cabin Saturday evening at 8pm, heat was still broke. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. We paid $800 for the absolute worst experience ever. They do not respond, they do not care. They act friendly but clearly are only after the money. We have had much better experiences with other rental properties in Gatlinburg. Do not waste your money on this one, please. read more

Worst customer service ever!! We arrived about 9pm. Got out of vehicle to go up steps to open front door and was attacked by Hornets. Not bees. These were actively chasing us! All 6 of us got stung several times. Try to call the "24/7" number, only to get the runaround from the answering service. Said they would contact the owner. We explained then that we couldn't get outside to our vehicle to close it up. They said to stay inside and it would be morning before any help could arrive. So we get woke up this morning to bears in our vehicle and called the minute they opened. After about 6 calls, someone shows up at noon with bug spray. Then after he gets chased and stung, he decides we do need an exterminator. So we wrap sheets around us to get to the vehicle. Gone a couple hours, we go to the location of the cabin rental. They know nothing, so we ask to get a call from manager when he gets back from lunch. 2 more hours we go back and manager is there and had no intention of even calling us! Asked if he could at least twll us if the exterminator had been there but he couldn't even do that. Got shitty with us, and will not return a dime of our money. 6pm on 2nd day of vacation and just got unloaded. Do not rent off of these people!!! read more

We stayed in 'Cuddle Inn' and it was... not what we expected for 150+ a night. The first thing that hit you is the smell. Sickly sweet, cheap perfume. Then the cobwebs. I get it, I have similar walls in my home, but you NEED to dust often and with cleaner. I should not be able to wipe my finger on the ledge on the bath tub and come back with gray dust. The location was pretty good. Not walking distance to the trolley but we got along well with a rental car. My two stars are for the awesome bathtub and location. read more

This review is regards to our recent stay in the Majestic View Lodge #426. The property itself is beautiful and peaceful. With that being said I have some concerns I'd like to share: When I booked out vacation back on 05/20/20 I was told that check in is at 4:00 or after, however if I sign up for "express" check in we could get in as early at 1:00 PM depending on cabin cleaning/turnover. I get that and understood that- What I don't understand is when I called at 2:30 to see when we can expect to get into the cabin how incredibly rude the female was to me- and yes she got sass back as I'm not one that allow poor customer service and not say something- her attitude was uncalled for. Then I called back at 4:15 and still had no answers. So here we sit in 3 vehicles and groceries with no cabin. At this point, I can only assume he was a manager gets on the phone to tell me the cleaning person quit and so the cabin wasn't ready for us and he was sending someone there at that time to clean it. Your staffing issues should not interfere with our vacation. At this point we were told we could go the cabin to only drop off our groceries but could not stay. That was difficult to say the least as the people there cleaning had the fridge and freezer open for at least 30 minutes, so we waited out on the deck until we could put things away in the fridge and freezer. The cleaning staff was very nice and told us that the cabin wasn't cleaned because it was only scheduled as a "departure" and not for "arrival" on August 2nd.... Hmmm.....cause that's not what I was told. Seems to me someone dropped the ball and failed at providing customer service. If you truly cared about customer service someone would have followed up with us either later that night or the next morning to make sure everything was ok after the rough start we had. We had to ask the cleaning crew to please clean the grill as it was disgusting and to also clean the stove before she left. They didn't even go out onto the decks to check things. Again she was very nice but the cleaning was lacking. There was dust on the crockpot and we had to wash most dishes before we could even use them. There's a layer of dust inside all the cabinets and things such as floor rugs and table runners need to be washed and changed out. Blankets were left on the couches and not washed or changed out; I requested the cleaning crew take those. It's bad enough to expect renters to use the same blankets as complete strangers but then add COVID into that mix; this is unacceptable to say the least. I understood quickly why you wouldn't want the quests to be there during "cleaning". Thank goodness we brought Clorox wipes and Lysol spray with us. Would you like to sleep on the same blankets as God knows who? It was well after 7:00 PM before we could get access to the cabin, by the time we unpacked and washed the dishes needed to cook dinner it was late. This was not how I anticipated our vacation starting. I understand that sometimes things happen that are out of our control but to be lied to and get attitude because I expect customer service when paying over $2300 for 4 night's accommodations is simply unacceptable. The air exchange vent by the laundry room in the dining room is disgusting... you need to have someone vacuum and clean that. There are infant socks, 2 pair behind the dresser in the bedroom off the dining room. The floors under the couches in the living room need to be cleaned; I could go on and on. I feel fairly certain the owners of this property would be unhappy to know our experience and how you are "managing" their property read more

Update on this cabin, on our last night of our stay there was a lizard in the jacuzzi tub of my kids room. Also, while packing up to leave, when we checked under the bed, we found a pair of dirty socks, unfortunately they were not ours!!!! As we were leaving, they were putting new furniture on the back porch. Unfortunately that it not going to help this cabin at all!! Major deep clean is needed. The jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom leaks onto the kitchen floor, there are so many things wrong with this cabin, for your own health. Stay away!!!! read more

So for the record anyone going to Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg I DO NOT Recommend Aunt Bugs cabin Rental! The guy who checked us in was rude and has no business being in customer service. The Hot tub was a big selling point for us and we were so disappointed that it was dirty and nasty upon arrival, but the office was closed and we didn't want anyone coming over to mess with it so we didn't call the emergency after hours number, we like our privacy and didn't feel like dealing with maintainer people coming to take care of it for the several goes it would take. So we had to clean it ourselves, we had to empty and refill it plus buy chemicals for it at Walmart. Then when we told this the front desk at checkout, they were rude about it and not apologetic at all. I won't be using your company again! And we travel to pigeon forge a lot! Checked into a cabin and was immediately greeted by roaches on the counter in the kitchen. I killed them hoping there were only two. Well, they had lots of friends. They will even sit on the couch with you and watch a movie if you need a friend! If you would like a mud bath or to brush your teeth with rust, this is the place! Also, the rock hard bed with rock hard pillows is covered by dirty sheets with excrement stains. Called all day and had to go into the office to address. Said they sent a bug man out and there were no signs of roaches and that I only "think" that I saw live bugs and that if I just let the water run it would go clear. They said they do not give refunds per their rental policy. When I was here three additional people were in also asking for refunds. If you like to pay top dollar to vacation in filth, this is your place. If not....stay away!!!! read more

We stayed in tranquility den cabin in pigeon forge. The road to get to it was scary. Cabin was clean but could of been a little cleaner. The hot tub had some dark spots inside, the outside patios and fire pit area needed some sweeping, picking up trash etc. Expect alot of spider webs on patios. We found 3 roaches in downstairs bathroom, one roach a day every night. The sofa beds were old and need to be replaced. Besides being old, they are dirty. The one downstairs had a big stain ! ( see photo). The kids had to sleep on couch vs pulling out the sofa bed. I had to wash the comforters that were for the sofa beds because they were dirty, stained and smelled. The dryer makes a very loud noise. I suggest better cleaning service and new sofa beds. We booked our's thru a third party but if you call directly you can save at least $100. Bring dish detergent, extra toilet paper. read more

We booked a cabin from December 29th thru January 5th. We were going to be a day late arriving due to issues in traveling so we called the day before to make sure we wouldn't lose our reservation due to late check-in. We were assured that we were all set. When we did arrive we were shocked at the condition of the cabin considering they had an entire extra day to get it ready. The outdoor faucet was running all over the rear deck which we shut off. The hot tub was broken and barely worked for the first day. We never made it in the hot tub because it was clearly not operating properly or cleaned prior to our visit. The refrigerator door seal kept falling off every time you opened the door. The toaster was broken. The microwave was broken and smelled of electrical fire. The washer and dryer were filthy and broken which I repaired both of them so that we could you them to wash everything. The floor was no swept or mopped. Socks were filthy within minutes of walking around on it. They were nice enough to leave a broom but we had to mop the floor with paper towels as there was no mop. The shower was dirty and had hair in the drain. The Jacuzzi tub inside the cabin was dirty so we cleaned it to try and salvage part of our trip. Nope the hot water tank was barely big enough to fill 2 inches of water into the Jacuzzi and would have taken close to 3 hours to fill at the rate it took to heat more hot water to add. Several lights didn't work; globes on ceiling fans were broken or missing and some of the dishes were dirty. The wifi basically didn't work for the whole week we were there. We also called for three days to try and get someone to remove the trash since all the cans were full and they never came for that so we got stuck keeping a bag of trash inside to smell for the week. I tried to give management the chance to make this right by talking to Rusty in the office. All the issues with this cabin and the best answer he could give me was that they had been really really busy and it was coming close to the end of their busy rental season so the units were going to have some issues with everyone renting them. We were ultimately sent a voucher for ONE free night when we return. What a joke. I will be doing a dispute with my credit card company and filing a complaint with the BBB regarding these companies' practices. I am posting this review so others don't make the same mistake we did. Most of their rentals are in the Hidden Springs Resort directly behind Dollywood (which seems to be a secret because they won't give you an address for anything until you check in). If you do a Google search you will be able to find several larger rental companies in this resort that from outside appearances look like they are in way better condition than the ones Aunt Bugs rents. PLEASE believe the reviews about this place all over Google and don't make the same mistake we did. This was a 20th anniversary trip and we couldn't have been more disappointed in this place. I expect to get their standard response to this review that you will find all over Google about how sorry they are but we hope you have a better experience next time. If more people read these bad reviews maybe they will start fixing things or they won't have to worry about business being busy anymore. read more

These "people"if thats what you can call them who run and work for Aunt Bugs Cabins are all disgusting lying frauds and I feel bad for the owners of the cabins they entrust to care for and manage their cabins. We used VRBO and found the cabin The Fishing Hole#156 in Wears Valley were we wanted and needed to be on flat ground for our dogs, one who happens to be paralyzed so he could be out and running around on flat ground. Anyways we get to Pigeon Forge at 3 and they said the cabin was ready which we were relieved as we had just spent 8 hours in the car. We get there and there is filth everywhere which can be seen in the photos, we called about no wifi and also the hot tub being filthy so they send someone to clean it which meant they had to drain the whole entire thing to clean so we couldn't leave our dogs to go get dinner so I decide to wash my dogs blankets and then the laundry water started coming up through the downstairs toilet, suds and all are just pouring out so we are having to plunge the nasty filthy toilet,and we call them and they said to come back to the office they would give us another cabin so we have to repack the whole entire car( note we were staying 5 days and also had two dogs with kennels ) we get back to the office and they give is the key code to another cabin and I asked specifically if it was on flat ground no steep drives as we could not walk our paralyzed dog on such inclines and she said it was flat, Dee obviously has never even visited ANY of these cabins because it was so steep and had so many drop offs and the dogs in the kennels where being thrown around and one puked and the other one who is already rear paralyzed could not keep his balance so we were highly pissed as it was completely unacceptable especially after paying $1018 so we called Dee back again and this "lady" didn't care AT ALL and said " well we aren't giving you a refund and all cabins are in the mountains" very condescendingly and Now I got aggressive and told her i'd come after her for my money back to which she places us on hold AGAIN, like the 7th time by now and when she comes back one she acts like shes some hero and said she found another cabin and we are "lucky" Because these people don't allow pets in their cabin yet it has rat or mouse poop everywhere that WE had to cleanup because its disgusting and unsanitary. Not to mention we didn't even get into this cabin until 8pm and we got here at 3 in Pigeon Forge, we had no dinner, this cabin Shades of the Past has no wifi, rodents, old tvs .. I guarantee my well behaved dogs are cleaner than their rodents! In the downstairs bedroom I pulled the blanket back the first night to mouse turds on the sheet so luckily i had brought two throw blankets which I have used one to sleep on and one to cover up with. We requested our money back because what they did was steal it and not provide what was stated in the ads and in their contract so we are contacting a lawyer to sue Aunt Bugs and Dee who manages the place for a full refund, we aren't even set to leave until Mon but are just leaving tomorrow morning because its so gross . Ruined the whole entire vacation, they state they strive to give customers the most relaxing trip in luxury cabins and they ARE NOT, not to mention we have had to listen to construction noise every day at this 3rd cabin and then the city came by as we were leaving to tell us they were flushing the systems with sulfur so we had to take our dogs back put of the car and turn on all the water taps in the cabin until they were done so the cabin wouldn't fill with sulfur. Worst "vacation" ever ... vacation from HELL. Our lawyer will be notifying you in writing for violating your own contract, theft, harassment, contributing to stress and mental anguish, exhaustion and not working to correct the situation... not to mention I have a heart condition and couldn't take my med on an empty stomach so I had to skip a dose since it was 8pm when we got here! Ill drive all the way back here to go to court so wait to be served at work Dee, pretty sure theft over $1000 is a felony offense! First I would just like to say that before going to the cabin the customer service was absolutely amazing! Each time that I had to call everyone was very nice over the phone. On the day of checking in we were supposed to get our code and address to the house before 4 PM and they didn't actually end up sending it until a little after 4 PM. Initially I was a little worried because I had to keep calling about the code and address because we hadn't gotten any correspondence concerning that. This was an amazing trip!!! Six of us hot together for a weekend away and "A Beary Tale" cabin was the perfect getaway! W took full advantage of everything in the house like the pool table, the games, and the hot tub. We loved spending time laughing and talking in the hot tub. It was a cozy place and we loved the detail in the wood. The customer service leading up to our stay was absolutely amazing! Everyone that I talked to was super nice!!! In the flip side, the cabin was pretty dirty and seemingly spider infested. There were spiders everywhere. Huge spiders! I would definitely go back and recommend Aunt Bugs cabins, they just need better cleaners , especially if they're going to ask for tips. read more

The toilet and bath tub were both disgusting, hair in the towels, ceiling fans covered with dust, lighting that either wasn't working or missing altogether, and we woke up to find a dead roach in the middle of the living room floor along with other bugs throughout the cabin. We stayed at the bear foot lodge. The pros- paved roads to the cabin, ample parking, spacious bedrooms, nice sized pool, it accommodated 7 people with plenty of room to play, check in and out was super easy, communication was good, the bigger beds were comfortable, gorgeous Mountain View, close to town. Cons- dirty, I mean really dirty, half eaten pizza, empty food and drink containers in each room, the toilets and jacuzzis were filthy. Even the outside was filled with liter. We had to buy a broom as there was no broom and 2 non-working vacuums. My husband had to repair the oven handle, freezer ice maker, dishwasher and 1 vacuum cleaner. 1 jacuzzi the plug didn't seal, in the same room the toilet only flushes if you plung it The other upstairs bathroom the floor tile is broken and lifts every time you step on it, broken faucet on that jacuzzi, both upstairs shower curtains were 2 small. The hot tub wasn't adequately filled so the jets blew water all over. Top bunk bed was not safe as the mattress isn't on anything but 2 small bars. 2 of the bathrooms had the toilet paper holders without bars to actually put the rolls on. Could be great with some TLC. I was disappointed because this was a huge splurge for us, we worked a lot of OT to rent this house, the kids had a blast so that made it worth it, but we had to spend the first 2 days cleaning and repairing things. read more

Customer service is terrible ,and clearly don't care about the safety of their employees or their clients! Me and my husband was in need of a relaxing quick getaway. We booked Rubys Cliftside through Aunt Bugs Cabins. We was soooo excited to book this place because in the pictures it had a hot tub with a view. We booked it because of that other wise we wouldn't have. It was suppose to snow so we thought the perfect weather for being in a hot tub. We checked out the house before getting settled and one of the first things we checked was the hot tub, of course. When we lifted the cover we was really disappointed to see there was a scum line that looked like a legit pond not being able to see that bottom. When we called in to complain they said it was well water and that it can do that. Anyone with a brain could look at that know it wasn't because they had well water it was because it hadn't been cleaned for what looked like a very long time. Anyways, they was going to send someone up in the middle of a snow storm to service this hot tub at the top of this mountain ,and I mean the peak of this mountain, which honestly was sketchy coming up dry. I had to tell them not to send anyone because it wasn't safe. I mentioned a discount ,and the lady I spoke with said she didn't have authorization to do that so someone would have to call me back. Might I add they didn't bother to mention that the road is literally as wide as a vehicle ,and if it snows (Which it did) you should NOT come. When we tried to come off this mountain after it had snowed we legitimately was scared for our life's even with 4 wheel drive. I thank god we made it off that mountain and we will NOT be back. Well a month later no one bother to call. I called back ,and they said they could issue 30$ back. I'm sorry but that was a huge waste of time for 30$ it's better than nothing so I guess I'm thankful but still for someone who booked a place because of the hot tub refund should have been more. Aunt Bug's cabins are named appropriately. We found huge amount of dust along with bugs to join you on your stay. The pictures will show the state of our cabin. From broken tiles, swiveling toilet that leaked, this place was full of adventure when we tried to get decent rest. Since they did not have but 2 bed dressings for an 8 person cabin we were forced to sleep on bare air mattresses that we had to continue to reinflate ever few hours. The bathroom fixtures were falling off. We found dirty dishes in the cupboards. We called as soon as the office opened to hear from "Jules" that the boss "Steven" was on his day off and would be giving us a call back. Hours later, "Steven" did not return our call. The next day we visited the office to hear no one can fix this situation except "Steven" but he was out to lunch from 12-1pm. I called back at 1:00 and was told by "Gerry" that Steven sometimes take 15 min extra so we had to call back. At about 2 clock I called an was told Steven couldn't come to the phone bc he was with other customers. Finally at about 2:30, Steven called more than 24 hours later!! Imagine that we have a dirty filthy place with missing sheets and pillows that is costing $500 a night!! After hearing half of my concerns he said he had to speak to the owners bc he just worked there and had nothing to do with the condition of the cabin. He couldn't give us the number or anyway to communicate with anyone that could rectify the situation. On the 2nd day a guy delivered sheets but did not bring the pillows. Later in the evening we got back to our cabin with front door open with all out belongings inside and another guy that was trying to fix the tv. Oops I forgot to mention the Main floor tv did not work. The master tv had only one channel. But good news! he tightened the toilet down to the broken tiles. The guy couldn't figure out the tv so my handy husband stepped in and fixed it. We still have no communication with anyone that has any power to fix the problem of paying $500 a night for a dump. The pictures are super misleading and when you try to speak to someone that can adjust the price due to this "bait and switch operation" they simply said that their policy is never to give and discounts or refunds. Wow! You would think that a hotel/cabin at least should have bed that are clean and not broken and have sheets and pillows but not this place. Get ready to get ripped off!! Where to start??! We stayed at splash mansion. The cabin was big with an AMAZING view. You can't see a sunrise or sunset though. So first night there my husband turned the A/C on around 11 pm and the whole cabin was shaking. We all woke up thinking there was an earthquake!!! I was in full panic mode thinking the house was falling off the cliff. The A/C unit was in my daughters room so she came out screaming and shaking too asking if we were having an earthquake. No exaggeration at all people, we had to keep the air off. So now I'm awake I go to the bathroom flip on the light and there's cockroaches!!! Lots of them! Aunt BUGS really lives up to their name. I didn't have my cellphone and when I got to it they already scattered. The cabin was filthy. The floor of our shower was disgusting. I put a towel down while showering because I felt like I was bathing in filth. The shower door fell off. The toilet wouldn't flush. We paid 10,000 to stay here. I was pissed called the office they sent 2 girls out to clean the few things I complained about but they acted like they didn't want to do it. Said the shower floor was stained they couldn't get it out. She sprayed chemicals in there and wiped it a little and some of it did come out if she would've used some elbow grease I'm sure it would've came up. They came out and sprayed for the roaches too. That cabin needs shut down and deeply cleaned and sprayed for bugs. I'll never rent from these people again. We couldn't turn the ceiling fans on because we were afraid the dust would fall into our food. There was track lighting above the stove and there were bugs stuck to the light from all the grease and not being cleaned. I had to physically get up there and clean it so I wasn't worried about bugs falling into our food! Just disgusting! I can't believe they charge that much and we stayed in such a filthy cabin! It won't let me upload a video I had one of the house shaking while A/C was on and of the roaches running in the kitchen. Don't waist your money people go somewhere else read more

While the staff was very polite... our stay was the total opposite. The burners on the stove did not work, the ice machine did not work, the shower will give you trouble if you are over 5 feet tall, we had no washer and dryer and they only provided two towels forcing us to buy towels from the dollar store, the chlorine in the hot tub was so strong it choked us, the TV stopped working and a bat was flying around the fireplace. I've seen multiple reviews talking about a bat flying around and obviously nothing has been done. I visit the area regularly and will not stay in any of this company's cabins again. read more

If I could give a minus review I would .. The cabin was clean .. and that's about it .. The sheets were like sleeping on sandpaper .. the 2 coffee makers were useless if you wanted hot coffee .. Now the hot tub issues .. the bottom was green .. the tub wasn't even on .. so the water was cold.. see photos and the hot tub info in the guest book in the cabin ..
