If you like a frozen cheesecake that's thick and heavy then this place is for you. They also have a sampler pack which you can try different flavors. All their cheesecakes are $33. They also have cookies in the front and other frozen goods in the freezer. This used to be my go to spot but the strawberry cheesecake really didn't hit the spot after it was defrosted. It was a frustrating morning. Rather than completing an appointment with a new Optometrist in Sunset Park, Waze told us "Heh... Not today, Janine" and we were directed to a random street in Carroll Gardens. FML. About face, forward march. Frustrated, pissed off and hungry, we pass by Aunt Butchies on the corner of 3rd and 83rd. Mmm... Sugarrrr. Nothing like some sweet carbohydrates to assuage an abundance of grievance. Absolutely adorable little shop. We asked the lovely young lady and gentlemen behind the counter what they recommended, as it was our first time visiting Aunt Butchies. They suggested the Cheesecake Cones, among a few other items. The container of cones were quickly snatched up out of the freezer case, while we asked for a few different cookies. They packed our items beautifully, we paid a very reasonable total for our items, and headed home. Heh... But a few of the items didn't make it home with us. We got in the car and attacked the bag of goodies. The Snickerdoodle cookie was consumed (with joy) within 2.6 seconds. The plastic box that held the Cheesecake Cones got yanked open. He took a small bite and handed me his cone so I could try it, too. I wolfed it down - whole thing. It was divine. The man had a Nutella Cookie that he said was so good, he'd trade me for another one. Five stars - No question. read more

Picked up a cake sampler today for a birthday party, and it was a hit! The sampler had 16 slices (4 chocolate mousse, 2 white chocolate, 2 mud pie, 4 cheese cake, and 4 carrot cake) for only $32, which is great for its quality amd quantity. It comes frozen so they recommend to leave it out for 2 hours before serving. I tried the chocolate mousse, which was light, chocolatey, with a wonderful oreo crust, and the carrot cake was nice and moist. All of their cakes are sold pre-cut which is very convenient but sometimes I wished I can order a whole cake to present as a birthday cake. read more

My absolute favorite thing from Aunt Butchie's are their little cheesecake cones. I LOVE cheesecake...and having it come in the form of a cone is just perfect. Every time I come, I literally pick up 5-6 boxes that come with 8 cones per box, throw them in my freezer, and eat one cone a day as a treat for myself. It'll last me 3 months or so. Delicious...so rich...so good!!! Their cookies are also very good! Highly recommend to heat them up in your oven before eating. They just melt in your mouth. The staff are also very friendly! You walk in and immediately you see a commercial freezer with frozen slices of cheesecake and a display with some cookies. Where is everything? Giving the benefit of the doubt I went with two frozen slices of cheesecake of which were very thin and $4 a slice! Wonder what the profit margin is for one whole cake?! The Slices tasted amazing but were rock hard frozen. Cakes and pies and everything dessert should be offered fresh. I have no idea how long these have been frozen for. I stopped by this bakery pretty late in the evening around 6:20 or 6:30 or so prior to going to Laila; an excellent Syrian restaurant a couple blocks away. I didn't notice the Cheesecake Cone, or else I likely would have gotten it, but instead as I just wanted a small snack, I got an Apple Caramel Cookie. As the place was soon closing, the friendly people there gave me two extra cookies. It was I think $4.95 after tax (unsure if they charge $4.50 when you pay cash) which was perfectly fine because of the size which was almost the size of a cookie from Levain but thinner and not nearly as heavy. The cookie was both not too sweet from the soft caramel and with plenty of apple flavor which had a mix of sweet and sour flavors. The dough had a good texture as well being not too soft or hard. It was in short excellent and I would recommend it pretty heavily. If I was in the area which I'm not even close to normally, I would stop here and buy cookies or cakes or other things but sadly, I don't live close. Really excellent cookie and I recommend others take the terrible R train or bus to go here. read more

You offer gluten free items on your website yet nothing is available in your store. The salesperson only says you have cookies that are gluten free but according to your site it's not just cookies. This place is known for there mouse cake. They do not take reservation, you have to call the same day to see if they have the cake in stock. You can buy a slice for $3.00. All the cake is frozen. I got Aunt Butchies after writing a mouthwatering review in the wretched heat. It was as good as I remember. Quick Note: Nasto's does indeed make these tontoni, and probably the tartufo as well. It's their sliced spumoni specifically that I dislike, which is helpful to me as I will be getting these by the dozen. Just no variety packs as I'm spoiled on L&B Spumoni. The Cheesecake Cone [$3.75] resembles a cannoli but it is so much more. It's a level up. The cheesecake is creamy and luscious, the cone is like the crust of a cheesecake but sticky and malleable, almost close to being candied. I can't get over it. Once in a while luck comes your way. I live right across the street from this Dessert Heaven and am grateful I won't have to travel far to pick up these ridiculously good treats. I've had several of their selections now and every one has been terrific. The ingredients are superb and the cakes, cookies, cannolis and cones taste fresh and amazing every time. The Aunt Butchie's location in Dyker Heights has a small retail operation. It appears that the bulk of their action comes from their wholesale operation. My wife is firm in that she states the they have the worlds best tartufo. For those who don't know tartufo has one large scoop of Chocolate and Vanilla ice cream with a raspberry jelly inside. Most Italian restaurants will have this as a dessert option. Everything is fresh there and ready to go. If traveling bring a cooler bag with you so the items will stay frozen for you to enjoy at home. There is no seating, no coffee, no tea etc. Pickup and go. I'm disappointed because I came here to get cookies one evening and as I was eating the salted caramel cookies, I got down to the last bite and had lint in my mouth. Almost as if the cookie was dropped on the floor and put back on the tray. I ended up throwing all of the cookies out. I made a google review about this as well and was even more disappointed when I saw the owners response. Rather than apologizing for the inconvenience and taking accountability, they made it seem like I was lying. Yes, there was an apology but they also stated, "they would never pick something up off the floor and sell it to their valued customers". Where's the accountability here? So I'm just making stuff up and put the lint there myself? Come on now. I will never visit this place again. The Sampler comes frozen with 16 slices of cake. Not sure if they're randomly put in, ours came with 4 slices of NY Cheesecake, 4 slices of Carrot Cake, 4 slices of their White Delight, 2 slices Mississippi Mud, and lastly, 2 slices of Chocolate Mousse Cake. The Carrot Cake would be my most favorite! Moist, fluffy, so comforting bite after bite, the frosting wasn't overly sweet either. Another good one that can't be missed is their Mississippi Mud, just decadent... I just wished there were more of those in the box as it only came in 2 slices. It was a hole in wall that made you want to turn the other way when you got there.Their Cheesecake Cones are a must have, just as their other decadent desserts. The only problem is that they are frozen solid. They have a big see through freezer as you open the door to enter the establishment, and you can hardly see the beauty of the desserts. That is their downfall. Note to the owner: Turn the freezer temperature down and you will sell much more desserts! Do not expect to go there thinking that it's a bakery, it's not. If you're looking for a birthday cake the only thing you can look forward to, it won't be melted or smashed up when you get to your destination. Their brownies are amazing. So so good. Disappointed with the chocolate mousse. Had a party. Defrosted the sampler about 40 min before serving. The mousse TOTALLY melted on the individual serving plates. There were many guests and it was ki d of embarrassing. ITF you wanted to eat it, you had to scoop it with a spoon.
