Yo this place RUUUUULES!! Came by with my boys the other day and drank the tastiest Coors Lights on draught ever! The service was just fantastic! I believe the bartender working was named Arthur and he was just a sweetheart! Every time I got to my last sip of my brew he was quick to have that other Silver Bullet ready in hand for my drinking needs. I highly recommend getting food from their kitchen in the back! And again, I still got that all star service. I ordered the chicken parm sammie and it was probably the best chicken parm sammie I've had in my entire living existence. Well it started off as a good night until I tried paying my bill. All I asked was to close out my check and after the bartender in some Hawaiian shirt told me okay he kept taking drink orders and completely ignored me. When I complained to other bearded bartender he said okay and walked to otherside of the bar and seen my wife on the other end who he thought wanted a drink. Is it because Im spanish I don't know... Maybe. Anyways my white wife looked at the bartender and said I don't want a drink my husband has been trying close the check for 30 minutes. So we finally get the check but after hearing the bartenders saying F... Them. You know I have lived in this neighborhood for years and I felt discriminated against. Sad on what I thought was a kool pace is now a place of discrimination. Service here sucks. So bad. Came here twice and definitely won't be going back. Typical dive bar with bartenders that take 20 minutes to ask you if you want another drink and when you order one they can't seem to muster up enough energy to even acknowledge what you said. Really made me laugh when I read the sign they hung up behind the bar saying "Good tippers go to heaven"....seriously? If the owners can't pay their bartenders a high enough wage that they need to rely on customers to pay it, then at least tell them to be friendly...or human. Dealing with these bartenders was like talking to a brick wall. I'm usually not one to nitpick on service, but god this was bad. Two stars for the tasty margarita and reasonable prices, but I'm good on having to wait 20 minutes to be acknowledged when there are 3 bartenders behind the bar. It was absolutely unreal how bad the service here was and sucked that I actually had to leave a tip for these people. read more

I went to this bar for the first time with my family, which included some younger 21 year olds sure. The customer service was terrible. If I could give this place one star I would. The bartender didn't give us our drinks when asked because "we don't tip" but we were not done drinking. Maybe at the end of our total transaction we would have done so. She was completely rude and assumed so made the choice not to serve us. When we asked for a manager, another bar tender told us we were all drunk and had to go (after two rounds). Down-to-earth bar that feels like a real neighborhood joint. Kitschy wall art, reclaimed glass light fixtures, and plenty of exposed wood bring to mind that den in your great-uncle's house that's been basically the same since the '70s. Expect rockabilly, country, classic garage rock, old rhythm & blues and the like on the sound system. On certain nights you'll find a DJ spinning old rock'n'roll and soul records. Drinks are reasonably priced for the area. Bartenders are friendly and attentive, and have a great rapport with regulars. Sitting at the bar around happy hour, you'll likely find the all-black-denim and blue-collar crowds are represented well, but I def wouldn't say any one or two demographics lay claim to Aunt Ginny's. If you're around, you're welcome. And sometimes your dog is welcome too -- although I don't have the authority to promise it's 100% dog-friendly all the time. As of this writing (Dec. 2019), the food counter in the back is operated by I Like Food, who serve up fresh and satisfying hot sandwiches, burgers, fries and sides, at very fair prices. Pool table in the back, leather booths up front, stools facing out the front window, sidewalk seating in good weather, and a chill enough vibe that I've always been able to find a seat and have a freewheeling conversation with a friend. read more

This is a great neighborhood bar for a hangout or a medium-energy night. Standard drinks, good cocktails, frozen margaritas, pool table, lots of space. I came here a couple weeks ago after moving a block away six months ago. When I visited the first time the service was awesome. I noticed food was being served until at least 12:30 am. The last time I visited a bit before mid night on a weekend I was denied any food. Visited again this week and was told the bar was closed. A group of 4 came in after us and was served a couple containers of food in front of us. I legitimately left Ginny's as the bar at this point of the night to go to because of the food, and I was very mistaken. Very disappointed. Very unfair that another group went up to be served and were served rather than a group of 2 before us? This was our go-to bar for the past few months but will lose our business and recommendations. Discovered this place a few months back. It's trying to be a dive bar, but it doesn't have that lived in look yet. The bartender and the manager were both friendly. So I can't complain. It's basically a metal/biker bar for the millennial set. If you like Cobra Club and Sweet Jane's, then you should be fine. read more

This place fucks!!! Easily my favorite bar in all of NY. Bartenders through the years have all been fantastic & the drinks are always a great deal. Have spent too many Tuesdays to count here because of their 2-for-1 Tecate deal ($4) and because of Taco Tuesdays. Also, best bar food ever. The cook / owner of "I Like Food NYC" AKA their humble kitchen in the back, creates some of the most delicious meals I have ever tasted. Amazingly enough he has a huge selection of Vegan & Vegetarian options. Pool table. Country DJ on most Mondays and a great vibe every day. LISTEN!! This is the only review you need to know. I have been to this establishment multiple times and enjoyed myself immensely. I don't like Yelp and have never felt compelled to write a bad review until now. HOWEVER, this last time left me with the worst taste in my mouth. I work in the industry, and the egregious nature in which I was dealt, I can't explain and left me disgusted. First of all, I ordered the first round for multiple people. It was clear, concise, and orderly. I ordered a round for 2 other friends. I put down a $50. The bartender gave me back $10 less than what I should've have been charged. I confronted the bartender and they acknowledged the mistake. No worries. Mistakes happen. Secondly, I witnessed a bartender watering down beers! She literally left a 1-2 inch area to fill with water in a pint glass. I mean to say she watered down a beer to a customer. I can't say with certitude that the customer requested a watered down beer. Though, I have never witnessed this behavior before. Needless to say, I drank canned beer the rest of the night. Lastly, a bartender attempted to over-charge me, AGAIN!! I had been paying cash, every round, all night. I paid for every round with cash! The last round I ordered, the bartender attempted to over-charge me for twice the amount I had ordered. Stating I owed one more round than the round I had ordered. I, AGAIN, confronted the bartender. That person insisted another patron had authorized the payment. I assured the bartender this was not the case. Granted, they only charged me the amount I specified, but then told every other bartender that I was rude and not to serve me further. I never once used foul language or swore at this person! I simply told her I did not believe her but that she should charge me what she felt I owed her. I am not above reproach and will always pay what I owe. I feel I am a exemplary patron in all establishments I visit. I often tip well above 20%; even under bad service, because I realize service employees require patronage to live in the high expense of NYC. It is an unsettling trend in these gentrified neighborhoods, that people like myself who have lived and seen the change (...and I am in love with some of these changes and lived here for 12+ years), view bars as a way to make a quick buck and attempt to screw over their patrons. I would avoid this particular spot in the future, unless you enjoy getting screwed over. read more

Just when I thought maybe this could be something. Pulled up to the bar, not too much talk from the bartender but that's OK. Say hi to who is next to me on the bar first question is if I have any mushrooms. As I jokingly say 'just when I thought I found my new bar', this guy goes nuts on me and my friend just throwing insults and raising his voice and being dumb. Mostly about the fact that I'm not born and raised in Ridgewood. Dude who cares. Bartender comes around and stands there smirking... Clearly has seen this with this man before and says not a word. As new neighborhood installment, rather than trying to make it as new kid on the block, it tucks into the neighborhood with the spirit of the new Ridgewood. Place is enjoyable, with atmosphere relaxed enough to bring a few friends, kick back and order a few rounds. Laminated menus migrating all over the spot still miss a house burger but the pace of turnup over time should allow the place to evolve above its dive-y status. There is music and it is loud. Not the greatest date idea but if the noise and commotion of the half lit indoor space is too much to take, take a peaceful walk around the block as the town is still predominantly Queens as you know it. read more

This is a great new neighborhood spot. I would describe it as an eclectic, metal, laid back, hipster bar. With a juke box, pool table, and lots of booths the space feels very open but still cozy. Reason why I like this bar, cause I usually want some food with my drinks:) Most of the bars in the area don't offer food. They also have good drink prices and sometimes have a DJ. I've never played but they do have a pool table and a few video games. I also like the rounded booths. Nice bar in general to hang with friends. read more

I Moved to the neighborhood a year ago and this has become my favorite bar. Every bartender is friendly and fun, and I always meet cool new people here.
